¶ Addressing YouTube Shorts and School Safety
This is the Everyday Podcast for the Everyday People . Guys , welcome back to RED . It's the Everyday Podcast for the Everyday People and it's Red Light Hour . Good , good , good good to be here with you guys again .
So there's something that's been coming up in connection with my YouTube shorts and I just wanted to be able to clarify so that we're all on the same page in connection with how this works . So some people may say well , I don't have enough information in the short to be able to understand the story . This is what happens .
I've noticed that when it comes to YouTube and I'm uploading my final videos , one of the biggest challenges is that I'm not able to get all of the information for the story in in that one minute .
So if I can't get the full story to you guys within that one minute , I'll provide the commentary on that story , especially if there's not much information or details in connection with that story . The goal is to be able to lead you to my long form content on YouTube . Well , why is that important ? Because that's where the magic happens .
That's where you are able to be able to see my commentary in context , the purpose of this show . So many have highlighted that if I continue not uploading the full short to whatever the case is , or if my goal is to make money , then I might want to change my approach .
Well , this is what I have to say to those people I did not start this channel for money . I did not start producing content here for fame or fortune . I noticed that on TikTok there is a need and on a lot of social media platforms , a lot of people like to use social media to watch things that , yes , are humorous and funny , etc .
But these influencers , these people who have thousands and thousands of followers , I noticed that they're not really benefiting their audience . So when my brother was killed at 25 years old three years ago , I decided to dedicate a YouTube channel to him , and that is the reason why I do what I do every week .
It doesn't matter if I stay at 342 subscribers on YouTube . It doesn't matter if I stay at 679 on TikTok . I don't care for the numbers .
I care about providing you guys with stories that's going to give you the insight and the response that you need in order to be able to deal with certain circumstances , because the bottom line is each and every one of us is going through something . Today . We're going through challenges .
We're going through circumstances that are going to be difficult to endure , and so my goal is to be able to make sure that my viewers are getting this information , because if they're getting this information , then I'm doing my part , and that's the most important thing about bringing this content to you . It's not about trying to be famous .
It's not about trying to be a Mr Popularity or to gain a mass following . It's mainly designed because I care , I think about persons in mind , and I try my best to provide help and practical suggestions for all of those who are coping and going through trials and circumstances .
There are young people today who need that freedom of speech on this podcast , on this thread . So don't forget , guys , my podcast can be listened to on Amazon , spotify , apple , itunes . Don't forget to be able to express yourselves . I don't get upset when people want to express themselves , whether it's positive or negative . You're entitled to your own opinions .
We all have free will . All I ask is that you be respectful and connection with it , and so the overall idea is to help this channel , then I'm all for that and I really appreciate each and every one of you guys . So , with that being said , welcome to our eating the everyday podcast for the everyday people . Here's our first story .
We're going to upper Deerfield , new Jersey this is my home state , where I live and reside and I've never heard anything like this in Jersey . A janitor from New Jersey has been arrested for allegedly contaminating food and committing lewd acts at the elementary school where he worked .
Giovanni and Pellezzieri , a 25 year old janitor at Elizabeth Moore School , was arrested Tuesday . The Cumberland County prosecutor said he is accused of tampering with cafeteria food , with bleach and bodily fluids . He also allegedly performed sexual acts with inanimate objects at the school and posted videos of them on social media , according to a news release .
And Pellezzieri is facing multiple charges , including aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child . Of course , parents are worried about their children's health and are demanding answers from upper Deerfield schools . Now , before I go on to make mention of the parents comment , obviously we know that these parents are feeling hurt .
One mother feels the district should have been more transparent . She says I'm hurt , I'm upset , I'm angry . I have a lot of mixed emotions . Here's my commentary on the circumstance . Number one the school cannot possibly man control or dictate how one of their staff members decides to use their God given free will .
It's not the school's fault that this janitor decided to take it upon himself to disgrace his good standing and to jeopardize children . The Cumberland County Health Department said it's working with the school to ensure food prep areas , serving utensils and all surfaces have been properly sanitized and any tampered products have been discarded .
It said it's also awaiting test results from M Pelleaziri to determine if he has any infectious disease . I find it interesting when these stories come to my desk , and I'm going to tell you why , because right now we live in an environment in which someone always is looking for the next person to be responsible .
I'm not going to say for one second that the school is entirely off the hook . I'm not going to say that , but what I am going to say is that there was no way for the school to be able to see this coming . This is disgusting , heinous misbehavior .
I am so sorry for the students who were tragically involved in connection with this story that developed and for the parents who were affected . It is devastating .
But during these circumstances , rather than trying to find someone to blame or hold accountable because in this case it was Giovanni who was accountable or should be taking the disciplinary action try your best to use these circumstances as a stepping stone in your child's life . How can you do that ? Some parents have found it advantageous to homeschool their children .
Other parents have found it advantageous to pack their children's lunch . Just in those small ways not saying that you have to do that simply because this happened , but just in those small ways some parents have been able to protect their children from certain circumstances like this . We wish you all the best .
In upper-deer field , new Jersey , our follow-up story Fights , stabbing , prompt Student Walkout Effort at Birmingham Middle School . I really appreciate that the students here are trying to handle this matter in a nonviolent and non-political way . This is um . We're going to Birmingham Middle School in Alabama .
When the bell rang for fourth period on Friday and then again on Monday , students at Jones Valley Middle School were ready to walk out of the school . They wanted to bring attention to discipline issues , including fights and a recent stabbing . They felt they weren't being addressed by new leadership .
They said they wanted the newly hired principal , misha Randall , to resign , but both days teachers stopped them before they could exit the doors , halting the walkout to the eighth-grader Victoria Sager .
As students , we need opportunities to talk and to be heard Sager told ALcom Monday , if we want to make our environment better , they should let the kids talk and actually sit down and listen to us . Jones Valley Middle School , located in Southwest Birmingham , reported 247 disciplinary infractions last year , 83 of which were for fighting .
The school , which enrolls just over 500 students , recorded the second highest number of fights per student among all schools in the district . According to the latest available state data .
After the first attempted walkout on Friday , the school suspended Sager for five days , according to a school form provided by her grandmother , anna Baker and reviewed by ALcom Baker said , another student was also suspended for 10 days .
Now I can understand as to why students are taking this approach , because sometimes , if you don't make it known or evident that these things are going on in the school and that they're affecting you and your family , some children are going to feel as though school is not a safe environment , and I totally get that .
The unfortunate part about it is , along with this walking out , there are consequences that come with it , because there are rules that the school has to follow in order to comply with state regulations , the Board of Education , etc .
However , there are also things the school needs to do to make sure that the students feel safe , and that's where the challenge is here . So what can you do if you're a student here in these circumstances and you're trying to feel safe ? First thing you do is communicate .
A lot of people today don't take the time to communicate , and one of the things that I find interesting about communication is it's literally something so simple .
Perhaps people don't communicate because they feel as though they'll never be heard , or perhaps some people don't communicate because they feel as though they're insignificant , or perhaps there is a measure of low self-esteem that one has been accustomed to in upbringing and raising . Well , if that is your circumstance , take courage , people .
Communication can be likened to a bridge that leads you to successful results . True , there are multiple ways to communicate .
Some people can communicate verbally , others can communicate physically , but whatever the circumstance , make sure that the communication is going to leave you dignifying the person you're trying to communicate with , make them feel respected and make sure that it's not going to do anything to hinder your education .
At the same time , I do understand that it can be scary when there are several violent acts going on at your particular school and the administration is hesitant to do anything about it . Continue to be patient down there in Birmingham middle school guys .
We're going to continue to follow up with you as best that we can , but we know that you guys are going to do the very best that you can . We love you tremendously and we're so happy to have you on this platform . Here's our next story . Virginia High School student creates soap to fight skin canter and is a rewarded awarded rather $25,000 .
This is Heeman Bekel , 14 years old . The project started out as a fun science experiment . A Virginia High School freshman was looking for a fun science experiment and ended up making a soap with the aim of treating cancer .
Heeman , who attends WT Woodson High School in the Fairfax County Public School System , was Crown America's top young scientist and awarded $25,000 after winning this year's three young scientists challenge .
The teen's idea for making a soap to treat skin cancer stemmed from his memories of people working long hours outside under the glaring sun in Ethiopia , his native country . Skin cancer is mostly found on people who live within developing countries , he said in a press release from FCPS , but the average price for an operation is $40,000 .
I was devastated by the idea of people having to choose between treatment and putting food on the table for their families . He continued . There are so many preventable deaths . An aspiring scientist , he began researching skin cancer , particularly dendritic cells which help the immune system attack cancer cells .
I just find this story to be particularly of interest because this young man has decided to take a need on himself and follow through with it . He sees a need to be able to help persons cope with skin cancer and the financial burden that it brings on one's life and do something about it .
Oftentimes , what I come to understand is that young people see that there's a need and they feel as though they're going to take this matter into their own hands and the result that they have in mind doesn't always come out the way that they would like it to , mainly because of the method they use to achieve that result .
If you guys are trying to address a particular need , notice here that he didn't go through a violent channel to accomplish it . He didn't jump on social media and complain . He got busy .
He got busy and was able to put progressive steps in motion so that he could be able to be proactive and assist someone , and that's something that I encourage all of you guys to do . My viewers who come in onto this podcast , make sure that you're taking positive steps in order to make a better way for the next person .
Try your best to be patient and calm as you take these steps toward a better circumstance . We appreciate what he's been able to do in connection with this soap to fight skin cancer and we wish him all the best in his endeavors . Here's our next story .
Now we're here back to violence and things that are escalating in connection with the average student Three students injured , two charged in shooting near Baltimore's Carver Vocational Technical High School , and this is a gripping story
¶ Teenagers and Parents in School Shooting
. Down in Baltimore . Two of the three teenagers who were shot near Carver Vocational High School in West Baltimore on Friday were facing charges aren't facing charges in relation to the shooting . The shooting happened near the intersection of Prestman Street at North Bontelou street at around 7.50 am . The intersection is at the corner of the school .
A 16-year-old and a 15-year-old boy were found shot at the scene . Police said the third victim , another 15-year-old boy , walked into an area hospital . One of the victims was shot in the chest and required a chest press . Police said All of the teenagers are expected to survive their injuries .
Detectives learned over the course of their investigation that the parents of one of the 15-year-old boys took him to the school to assault someone . The parents of the teen allegedly joined him in the assault , during which time the teen pistol whipped his intended victim . Police said the teen then fled from the physical encounter and ran into another 15-year-old boy .
They both allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation , pulled out handguns and started shooting at each other . Police said the two 15-year-old boys were injured by the gunfire and a 16-year-old boy was injured by their crossfire .
Following the melee , another student at Carver Vocational Technical High School grabbed one of the guns that had been used during the shooting and ran off with it . Police said the 16-year-old boy was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and then released from that hospital .
According to authorities , police said on Friday that the two 15-year-old boys remained hospitalized but were in stable condition . Once the two 15-year-old boys are released from the hospital , they will be charged as adults . Police said those charges will include attempted murder and handgun violations .
Investigators have also taken into custody the two parents who were present at the time of the original assault . Charges for the parents are currently pending . According to authorities . Up until I became a school bus driver , I never realized just how foolish persons can be in connection with their personal decisions .
Oftentimes , when we see kids who are unruly or causing harm or distress to a person , we're quick to blame that child . But the problem with blaming that child is that charity starts at home .
The sad reality of the circumstance is that it really is the parent who in some times not all the time , but in some times is responsible for how that child is making their choices .
Because if the parent says that something is okay , then the child is going to ignore any other adult , any other well-meaning friend , any other person with well intentions who goes contrary to what they're taught at home .
And that's what I've come to find as a school bus driver that you can have good intentions , you can try to be a positive spirit , a positive force in certain persons' life , but if they don't want to do it because they were shown this way by their parents , they're just not going to do it .
The saddest part of this story is that these two minors are being charged as adults because of the circumstances regarding their personal decisions brought upon them by their parents .
People who are supposed to look out for them and make sure they are safe and protected , at the end of the day , are the very same people that are causing them difficulty and hardship in connection with a series of circumstances . Counseling will be available to the school staff and students .
On Monday , students will gather in an assembly for support , including counseling services . All students are inside and the campus is secure . Staff will assess which people need more counseling and that support will be provided to them for as long as they need it . School officials said family members have been alerted to the counseling services . It's devastating .
When I come across these stories and they come across my desk , it's very difficult sometimes to be able to just fathom what is going on in the mindset of some of these parents , and that's the sad truth that we have to live with each and every day . However , if you take practical steps , if you do your part , then things can and will get better .
Here's another story that might have you on the edge of your seat man charged in fatal shooting near high school football homecoming game . This is Donaldsonville , louisiana . A 21 year old Louisiana man was arrested early Saturday in a fatal double shooting near a Donaldsonville high school football game .
Authority said the shooting happened about 8 30 pm Friday about a block from Floyd Memorial Stadium in Donaldsonville where the city's high school team was playing Patterson High School for homecoming .
Malik Fowler of Gonzalez faces charges of second degree murder , attempted second degree murder , illegal use of weapons , simple criminal damage to property and disturbing the peace . Wow Fowler was being held in the Ascension Paris prison awaiting arraignment . It was unclear if he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf .
Fowler is accused of fatally shooting Tyree Parker , 21 of Donaldsonville , and critically injuring another man who had multiple gunshot wounds . Sheriff spokesman Donovan Jackson said the detectives learned that Fowler had been acquainted with the victims and had been in an argument with them before allegedly firing the fatal shots .
The detectives don't believe the shooting was tied directly to the football game or the schools . Jackson said the Donaldsonville Patterson game did not finish . This shooting is the second this fall that gun violence has marred in connection with the Friday night football game in the Baton Rouge area .
On September 1 , a 15-year-old boy and a 28-year-old woman were shot at halftime during a fight at the annual West Baton Rouge Paris game between two high schools , one of them being Port Allen High School . So now you have this circumstance developing .
Time and time again , people are finding themselves coping with gun violence in connection with extracurricular activities . The teenager died from his injuries and that story that was just mentioned , and the woman was shot in the arm but survived . It's very unsettling .
Yes , football is obviously for some people they'll say football is a violent sport , but this is not the kind of violence that surrounds football . When you go to a game with your family , you expect to be able to just enjoy a very quiet , simple Friday night . But the saddest part about it is someone else's altercation .
Someone else's business can find themselves overlapping your life , and I find it to be just sad . I know that there are people out here who tune into my podcast , who see those things happening each and every day .
If you just drive down the streets of Nork and you look at some of the people out there some are drug addicts , some are crackheads , some are homeless persons you wonder what led that person to that lifestyle . How did they get there ? We know that they were born from two parents , I should say . But how did they get there ? What is their story ?
What is their life like ? What is their circumstance ? When I come across stories in which these great acts of violence have been accomplished or carried out , I always wonder who was the person whom they learned this from , or what was their story or background that led them to such a very poor set of choices ?
Speaking of poor choices , here is another story in Rancho Cucamanga . This is California , but the context of this story is just gripping , to say the least . Video shows teen being choked and whipped with belt by fellow students at IE school .
Two high school football players could face criminal charges after they were shown on cell phone video choking and whipping another student at their Rancho Cucamanga school . Now , the thing about these stories is TikTok is very strict on a community policy . If you don't know , why , jump into the news because TikTok isn't playing anymore .
The persons are trying to get the app banned because they feel there is too much propaganda going on . It's becoming even more difficult to post certain things , even in connection with research , storytelling , news , etc . Youtube is following right along that same pattern . If you guys aren't able to see this video in this short , please have mercy on me .
I can only upload what the platform and algorithm allows me to without getting violations . The video shows one of the teens choked a victim in the boys locker room while the other whips the screaming boy with a belt . At least twice before the recording ends .
The parents of the 16 year old victim are outraged , saying officials at Los Olsos High School initially tried to downplay the October 11 incident as horseplay . Cassandra , the victim's mother , said she had a complete breakdown when she first saw the video , which she described as a disgusting display of hazing .
She said her son , a junior varsity football player , kept the incident a secret . He was embarrassed , he felt shame and he was hoping it would just kind of go away . He had no idea it was getting video recorded , cassandra said .
She said it wasn't until about a week later that school administrators saw the video and told her and her husband , lonnie , about the incident . At first , she said school officials told them all three boys were in trouble for horse playing , but after seeing the video she and Lonnie believed it was much more serious .
The video was very disturbing to me when I first saw the video . Lonnie said the kid that is putting his arm in chokeholding my son , that's not horseplay . The kid that is hitting him with the belt , whipping him with the belt , that's not horseplay , cassandra said .
She said the boy who struck her son is a varsity player on the Grizzlies football team and also the son of a school administrator . The student who held her son down is also a varsity player . Cassandra said the parents say their son is okay physically , but the experience has affected him emotionally .
The school administrators filed a criminal report with the Sheriff's Department . Cassandra and Lonnie also want to know why the coaches didn't respond when their son began screaming . He's screaming that loud and nobody showed up . How far are you that you aren't able to help him , she said .
The superintendent for the Joint Union High School District said in a statement that he is deeply troubled by the incident and that hazing and bullying are not tolerated . Young adults don't recognize how devastating it can be when a classmate is beat that way .
When it comes to hazing and there's a lot about the origin of hazing , despite whatever you've been told hazing is designed to make a human feel less than it is a form of degradation .
It makes a human feel as though they have no place in society and , despite , contrary , despite the popular belief , it makes them feel Less than it does not dignify a human being when you do things like that to them . Now , of course , some will say the story is taken out of context . My commentation on this is very simple no matter what the circumstances .
No matter what the circumstances , there is never a license to beat someone to that degree , let alone film it and place it on social media . Some people may not agree with that . Some people may find this to be harmless fun jokes . Boys will be boys .
But do keep this in mind that if that was your loved one , if that was your family member , that was your cousin , your brother , your mother , how would you feel that emotion that's burning in you , that raised that anger ? Some people won't even let you talk about their mother in Unfavorable way .
That's the same emotion that should be carried for your fellow human and that's the sad part about this story no regard for the next human life .
¶ Crimes and Tragedies in Atlanta and School
Here's a follow-up story in connection with such middle school teacher charged with the rape of a child in White County . This is Sparta , tennessee . A White County middle school teacher has been arrested in charge with rape of a child .
According to district attorney general Brian Dunaway , warrants were issued Friday night for Austin Damon Allen , 27 , after authority said an Investigation revealed he had engaged in sexual acts with a minor and veck investigators with the district attorney's office . The White County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Child Services began the investigation earlier this week .
The allegations that prompted the investigation led to the suspension of Allen at the school . According to the DA , now he has been charged with three counts of rape of a child . Allen was taken into custody Friday night at the White County jail , where he remains on a $150,000 bond . The investigation remains ongoing and the DA said more victims are possible .
The school has issued a formal Apology by means of a statement , but the fact of the matter is , yes , the school is apologetic . The damage has been done and parents are wondering how can you police , how can you make sure that this doesn't happen ?
Well , the sad reality of it , parents , is there is no way that you can be able to do that , and Persons may feel as though that's a bit dramatic or that's a bit unrealistic , but it's true , and I'm going to be able to tell you as to why . One mother made mentioned that a background check can prevent a lot of things . No , no , no .
A background check is designed to let you know if the person has been in trouble before . How do we know that that person is not on the edge ?
And the fact of the matter is , the sad reality of it is the edge of that person is on Concerns your loved ones , and so it takes that one push , that one missed paycheck , that one Instagram post , that one snippy co-worker to push them right over the edge . It's very , very tragic when you hear stories like this .
Young teachers all in their early 20s , early 30s these persons are getting involved in misconduct all over . I Can understand my parents are concerned . So what can you do in Order to make sure or to be aware of what's going on with your child ? One have great communication with your child .
You need to be able to understand who your child's teachers are , what they teach , how they teach it and how close they are with your child . As a parent , you don't want to push them aside and make them feel as though their communication , their conversation with you is not as important as your busy schedule .
Those are simple ways that you , as a parent , can make sure or be active in knowing if your child might be in danger of being influenced by someone who has harm intended for them . We're following up with this next story for people , including two students , shot Near Atlanta College campus .
This is Atlanta , georgia , for people , two of them students , were shot Sunday near Georgia State University . Atlanta campus Authority said three of the victims were in stable condition and one was in critical condition . Police said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between two groups . They did not reveal whether they had arrested anyone or identify any suspects .
The shooting happened around 5 am Near a racetrack gas station . It's the same gas station where another Georgia State student died in December 2022 shooting . A Different man was also shot there in April , according to a report . In a statement , sunday University official officials confirmed that two students were among those injured in the shooting .
They also pledged to increase patrols in the area and work with police to secure the area surrounding the campus , which is located in downtown Atlanta . Guys , we extend our condolences in connection with this incident . We know personally that it's not easy to Live with the loss of a loved one . It's devastating . There are several ways that grief can affect us .
One is expected death in which a person is Terminally ill . You have a time to come to terms with their , with the loss . You can speak to them and then , naturally , gradually , nature takes his course , as it were . A life comes in , takes his course .
But there are also times when the death is so unexpected , so tragic , that it literally knocks you off your feet , and that's one of the things that people are really Struggling with today . When these things happen , these state universities , sometimes high schools , middle schools , elementary schools they don't offer much comfort and I find that to be strange .
One of the main reasons why I started podcasting was because there is a need for someone to genuinely care . I Personally don't believe that . Yes , of course , tick tockers and content creators , who whose niche is comedy . I think that's great and that's fine , but what you'll find oftentimes is they don't interact with their followers and they put post their content .
They don't really get to know how their followers are doing in personal circumstances , because that's not really the Foundation of the knees , did ? That's not really the gear of the niche of comedy . Me personally , I could get up here . I could make you guys laugh to the to the day is dawn , as it were , to the very end of night .
But the reality is , what is that going to do for you on a practical basis ? There are people who have YouTube channels . There are people out there who make these channels simply for money , for what they can get . That's not why I'm doing it . If that was a case , I would have quit a long time ago when these stories come to my desk .
It really does pull at my heartstrings and that's something that I want to be able to share with each and every person that tunes in to my personal show . You guys are loved and cared about . Things do get better , but the first step is being able to talk to someone who cares if they get better .
If you just talk to persons on media and you talk to individuals who don't have really much how much really to say then it becomes more and more routine . You become more and more accustomed to these negative things happening in your life , and that makes it very difficult to want to continue on another day .
In this next story , we're going to be able to experience just how real that statement is . We're going to Chicago . Human remains found in a field near Chicago High School . Human remains were found Saturday evening in a field near a high school in the city's Archer Heights neighborhood .
According to police , the remains were found around 6.15pm near Currie Metropolitan High School in the 49th 100th block of South Archer Avenue . According to the Chicago Police Department , detectives say the remains were found near train tracks not far from some businesses in the area .
Authorities have not yet identified the individual found and it is currently unclear what led to their death . Area 1 detectives are still investigating . Anyone with information should contact them . That's an interesting set of circumstances . They're still investigating this story , so there's not much that can be said .
However , for the students who are aware of the circumstances and have information , the police would be keenly interested in what you know .
Hopefully it's not one of your classmates or persons that you may know , but we hope that they're able to solve this in a very swift manner so that persons can be able to move along with circumstances as best as they possibly can In this next story . We're again sending our condolences to persons involved in Moore Square Middle School .
A 15 year old shot near Moore Square Middle School dies and man is charged with murder . A 15 year old shot near Moore Square Middle School on October 23 has died and a 22 year old is charged with his murder . According to family members , samar Leverett passed away from his injuries at Wakeman Hospital on Sunday afternoon .
According to the police , leverett was shot around 2.30 pm near the middle school by 22 year old Stephen Mark Stanley . Police initially charged Stanley with assault with a deadly weapon , inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon . After the shooting On Monday , riley Police upgraded Stanley's current charges to include murder .
This juvenile fought valiantly for his life . Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family of this young man during this difficult time . Any loss of life in our community is a tragedy , but when the lives of our youngest members are cut short it affects us all , said Chief Estella Patterson .
Stanley has an extensive criminal record and was just released from prison two months earlier . Stanley and Leverett did not know each other . Family members told WRAL News the complete circumstances surrounding the shooting aren't known , but the teen's mother said Samar got caught in some very bad crossfire .
Leverett , who goes by the nickname of Draco , attended Leesville Road High School , but his mother said she pulled him out of school for his safety . Gracey said Samar had a close call recently after being shot at an apartment complex two weeks ago . His parents subsequently got him a bulletproof vest for his protection .
Samar left his vest at home on Monday before being shot in the chest . Again . Our condolences are with the family . No one deserves , no matter what their circumstances , no matter what their life , no one deserves to face a tragic death . It does pull at the heartstrings .
I can only imagine what you as a family are going through , but please know that you have the full support and condolences of the Everyday Podcast R-E-D as you guys travel this road of grief . Try your best to communicate your emotions to friends and family , who may not say the right thing at the right time . Try to be patient with them and yourself .
Try to avoid blaming yourself in connection with the circumstances surrounding the death of the individual .
I know personally , when I lost my brother , one of the things that I felt personally guilty about was maybe I didn't spend enough time with him , and I know that our lives were busy and the circumstances surrounding them were unusual , and so we made the best time that we could , regardless of how busy we were .
I was able to take him to David Buster's just two years before he was killed , and we had a good time . It was nice to be able to have that memory with him . So often times when we lose someone , we try to find someone to blame , and that person may often times be ourselves . That's not the way to go .
Guys , we continue to send you our love and support and we hope that you'll continue to do the best that you can each and every day as time progresses . Here's another story in connection with heinous acts of violence continuing to circulate in the school area Two students stabbed , two injured , following brawls at Van Nys High School .
A Wednesday afternoon brawl involving 11 boys at Van Nys High School left two students stabbed and two others injured , leading to a campus lockdown . At 11.53am the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of two or three students stabbed at the Van Nys campus Quad .
Initial reports were that three victims were possibly stabbed and one was in critical condition . During an afternoon press conference it was clarified that two students were stabbed and both were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries .
Albert M Carvalho , los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent , said to reporters during the press conference around 12.45pm that while the school is still under lockdown , there is no imminent threat . The school is calm and the students are in the classrooms receiving normal instruction .
One mother who rushed over to the school after hearing about the incident said her son was jumped on campus by 10 individuals . She said her son wasn't stabbed but he was injured after getting kicked in the head .
It has not yet been determined exactly what weapon was used in the sabbings , but Superintendent Carvalho said three students have been detained and are being questioned by law enforcement . One student produced an unidentified weapon at this point and stabbed two students , who have been transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries .
As of today , van Nys will have the presence of an officer within the school facilities . According to the superintendent , wednesday's incident highlights the lack of police security at schools . Carvalho said the district does need to revisit the existing campus policy in connection with police . This violence was foreseeable and preventable .
That's with some persons are going to go with in connection with this story . There are a number of things that persons can do when it comes to school violence . Increasing police in campus security is a wonderful way to go .
However , if you don't have the backing of the families and the parents at home , then it's going to be very difficult for you to see those results in the school system .
We don't know as to what the status is of the students that were stabbed in connection with this brawl , but the article does make mention that there were non-life threatening injuries and we hope that they will be recovering swiftly and back in school as soon as they possibly can be in a safe and calm environment .
¶ Incidents at Parkview and Parker High
Here's our next story 9th Parkview High School Student Overdose reported . This is Loudon County Sheriff's Office . Loudon County , virginia . A 9th student at Parkview High School overdosed on Fetinal Tuesday . Loudon County Sheriff's Office confirmed to local news reporters the incident happened off campus but it's the latest one reported in a span of just 3 weeks .
According to the Loudon County Sheriff's Office , 4 of the overdoses happened inside the school , 3 required the use of Narcan and staff had to administer CPR on 2 of those occasions . The 5 other reported overdoses happened off campus but investigators determined they were Parkview students .
The Sheriff's Office said the Fetinal may be in the commonly found form of counterfeit 30 milligrams . They're coming into these oxycodone pills that are blue , circular and may be stamped in 30 . The interesting thing about this story is that once again it calls to attention For the parents to be Alerted , to be to know what's going on in their students life .
Now this is interesting . Some say they are frustrated about how this was communicated . Families learn Tuesday that this has been happening over the last three weeks .
When asked about the communication to parents , the school pointed Fox 5 toward a community message about the dangers of fentanyl that went out earlier this week , but it made no specific mention of the ongoing issue . At part view , tiffany Polifco is the school board representative for this area .
She commends the county for all the outreach it's done about the dangers of fentanyl , but once answers about why it's taken this long for families to find out . And so now we have a situation in which the school is not communicating to the families what's been going on in connection with their children .
There are times when the schools will report the silliest things that you can possibly think of oh , he sneezed today in school . He didn't have tissue . I'm calling your mother . But something like this should be plainly communicated , urgently communicated , to parents . We don't know as to what's going to happen in connection with these overdoses .
The article doesn't continue to specify as to what was done for the students who overdosed or what they recovery period is going to look like . What I can tell you guys and I know this may seem old , old fashioned or outdated that Taking drugs , overdosing on pills , that's never the answer .
It does produce harmful lifelong results that you just don't want to get involved in at such a young age . We all have fresh on our minds of shooting that occurred in Maine . This next story is touching in connection with how people are choosing to process the grief that they went through those people in this local town .

He was found dead Friday Days after , shooting and killing 18 people and injuring 13 others at a bowling alley and they bar in Lewiston .
Residents in both Lewiston and Auburn lost family and friends . In that October , a 25th shooting Singer , james Taylor , performed an acoustic version of the national anthem . Ahead of kickoff there was a moment of silence . Some stories they really , they really cut deep . They really really cut deep .
Fans and students decked out in school colors began arriving about two hours before kickoff to snag good seats . Blue and white balloons hung from a fence near the field and a banner displayed the interlocked First the letters of Lewiston and Auburn in the phrase we stand together .
Plackers with the names of each of the victims written in blue in the center of a heart were also posted on the fence I'm on . The first to arrive was Mark Barrett , a 58 year old car salesman from Lewiston who knew two people who were injured in the shooting . It's like they say Lewiston strong , we are all here together .
As one Barrett said , this is probably the perfect setting because it's against your cross-town rival . It's going to be a great game . It's going to be a game of unity . I Can I can only imagine just how difficult it is for people to try to continue on when they are dealing with this tragedy on their minds and hearts .
There are some people who won't even go into a bowling alley any bowling alley anymore because of what was done in the aftermath of what occurred . Well , if you're one of those people who are still struggling , reach out . You guys have the email you guys can be able to express yourself on . This podcast is thread .

Try to do the things that are going to keep your mind hopeful as you continue to live with the changing circumstances of everyday life . A district spokesperson told News 3 now that the parent had seen a rumor online about the school running out of food , prompting him to confront confront the school administrator . The district says that rumor was not true and in reality , the students preferred choice was not available during their lunch period . So I'm what I'm gazing from .
This is that this parent was upset because it seems as though there was miscommunication online about food Running out and that's that's what made him confront the school administrator . This obviously led to some some words or exchange and then the parents was all was to bring a gun into the school property . I know that no parent is perfect .
I know that for a fact , but there are also things that parents have to keep in mind , and I've stressed this many times on the show Think about your children first , keep in mind your child first . That's the most important thing as a parent when you think about your child .
It can protect you from doing things that might be dangerous , foolish and leads you down a path that you may not be able to turn . Off of this next story again , we're going to go down into Homestead , pennsylvania , but it's it's . It's just sad that people are just taking matters into their own hands like this .

¶ Violence and Safety Concerns in Schools
I don't , I don't know what makes these people do the things that they do . Innocent teacher sending it by herself . Man sees her and he tries to to attack her . And for a teacher , no-transcript . One of the things that could come to your mind is is this one of my students' parents ?
Parents today have a mentality that's very unique and if you're not careful as a teacher , you can find yourself in a bit of danger . Oftentimes we talk about teachers and how they are meant to protect students and help students to cope with varying various circumstances .
Well , in this video , in this next story , rather , you're going to experience something that is very , very , very heinous . Georgia Elementary School teacher allegedly lined students up and beat them , leaving welts bruises . Mother-demand charges I'd be in jail .
A Georgia woman says that her child was hit by a staff member at school , leaving the fourth grader with visible marks and scarred to go back .
Brittany Walker , the mother of a student who attends Dutchtown Elementary in the Atlanta suburb of Henry County , claimed her daughter , nervea , and other students were struck in the back while walking out of the classroom after asking a power professional for laptop charges . According to reports , the employee has not been publicly identified .
She literally hit us in our backs and we had two people that saw what happened . Her daughter explained . Another teacher came to take us to the quiet room where we could write a statement of what happened . Four other students were also involved in this incident .
The principal reached out to Walker on Tuesday , which made her go to the school to pick up her child . According to reports , she said she was informed that Nervea wasn't sexually but physically assaulted Immediately . When I looked at her back , walker told WSBTV her back was red and it looked like someone's hand-lined .
Photos obtained by the local news station appear to show the scratch marks on the child's back . Very , very , very , very bad . Well , this teacher did some serious , serious beating Part of the outlets . The employee was placed on administrative leave . Amid an investigation , henry County school said Walker filed a report at the local police station the next day .
However , she wants more accountability . She added . It's nowhere you can go and assault kids where you don't go to jail . If I abused my daughter I'd be in jail , so why would she be different ? She should not be able to ever work in a school system . Ever again . It's very I don't know what goes with these teachers' minds .
I don't understand why these teachers think that they can beat on these students and have no repercussions in connection with how they're dealing with children today . Are children perfect ? No , but at the same time , they're still human beings and deserve dignity and respect , no matter what the circumstance .
