Have you ever wondered what it truly means to fulfill your role as a parent in today's complex world? This powerful episode tackles the critical challenges facing parents as they guide children through an increasingly complicated moral landscape.

When we witness the chaos of teen riots in New Jersey malls, tragic accidents claiming young lives, or school violence making headlines, we're forced to confront an uncomfortable truth: parenting has never been more challenging than it is today. The moral dilemmas and social pressures children face now simply didn't exist when today's parents were growing up.

Drawing from both personal insights and thoughtful analysis, this episode presents three foundational principles every parent needs to embrace. First, the vital importance of clearly stating your values - research shows that when making major life decisions, teens often place higher value on their parents' viewpoints than their peers', but only if those values have been clearly communicated. Second, helping children understand that actions have consequences using the timeless principle that "whatever a person is sowing, this they will reap." Finally, the episode explores how parents can actively build positive traits in their children rather than assuming good character will develop naturally.

Between stories of school vandalism, teen riots, and heartbreaking accidents, we're reminded that while parents cannot control every choice their children make, they can provide the guidance, values, and understanding of consequences that will help young people navigate these challenging times. Whether you're raising teenagers, have young children, or are considering parenthood, this episode offers practical wisdom for fulfilling your most important role.

Podcast Introduction

Speaker 1

This is the Everyday Podcast for the Everyday People . Guys , welcome back to another episode of RED . It's the Everyday Podcast for the Everyday People . You know , this month of May has literally been dragging down to its finish . The last day of school for me this year will be June 13th .

Now , normally I run the podcast until the last day of my physical school year , which this year happens to be June 24th , but we are traveling internationally . We have plans to go to Portugal , and so I'm going to be doing some other streaming and some other live connects from Europe while I'm out that way .

But this week of activity has just been it's just been a long week . There's just so much going on . You know , kids are taking finals now . Prom is in session . For those of you who have went to prom already and those who may be coming up on prom should be done by now , though . Prom should be done , because we're heading into the month of June .

Coming up on prom Should be done by now , though Prom should be done , because we're heading into the month of June . But I've just been thinking a lot .

This episode has encouraged me to think a lot about young persons , parents , families and just tragedies that people are going through every day , and so I gave this theme a lot of consideration before I decided to put it together for you guys , this particular episode .

But before we go into the theme , I just want to thank all of the new followers that I have accumulated on TikTok and the new subscribers that have joined us on YouTube . I can't thank you , guys , enough for believing in this podcast , supporting this podcast and subscribing to this content .

You know , it's really not about the amount of subscribers or following that you have , but what it really boils down to is you doing something that you believe in , and seeing how that affects other people can make a world of difference . So , with that being said , guys , our theme for this episode episode 127 , is fulfill your role as a Parent .

This is a call to action to parents . You know this podcast deals with a lot of school news . We deal with a lot of school tragedies , etc . But it

Fulfill Your Role as a Parent

all starts at home . There was a situation that developed in New Jersey with young persons in Seaside Heights , woodbridge Mall , and it has people wondering when are these things going to stop ? Parents may also wonder what they can do in connection with supporting their teenagers . Here is our theme Fulfill your role as a parent .

Do you remember the moment when you first held your newborn for the first time ? Before long , you may have felt overwhelmed , realizing that your child's need for guidance would continue for many years . The enormity of your responsibility quickly sank in . While the role of a parent has always been challenging emphasis on always it is especially so today .

Well , why is that ? Well , because today the world is more complex . It's a lot more polarized than when you , as parents , were children . Some of the moral challenges children are dealing with in school , children needing comfort , how they use the internet All of those things did not exist when you guys were kids , as parents , more or less right .

But today there is an ongoing need for parents to strengthen their vigil and being able to support their kids with these new , unique challenges . In this theme , this episode , we're going to discuss three areas in which parents can be able to fortify their tactics to help support and strengthen their children . The first one is clearly state your values . Right now .

I'm in this age I'll be 33 in two weeks and I'm in this weird gray area because all of my peers are having kids and having babies , and some are prepared to have children and some are not prepared , whether that be emotionally , mentally , physically or financially , and so they're telling me that they believe that me and my wife should try to have a baby .

And I'm thinking to myself okay , on paper it sounds good , but what are your values ? When you think about becoming a parent , it's important to analyze your values . Well , why is that ? Well , as your children grow , they are buried in an avalanche of misinformation about morals , some of it from their peers and much of it from the medium .

These negative influences become especially evident when children enter their teenage years , but research shows that when it comes to major decisions in life , many adolescents place higher value on their parents' viewpoint than those of their peers . The reality is , in order for your child to adopt your viewpoint , you first have to have one .

So a lot of my friends are having kids now , but they're not really counting the cost as to how their actions are going to strengthen or affect their children later on down the line . One thing that you can do as a parent is inculcate values in your children . Try your best to give them something .

You know , when people talk to me about having a child now , they're on this kick about having a legacy , and that's cool . There's nothing more refreshing than having a kid and leaving a legacy behind . But if you don't take steps to set values , then the legacy that your child will leave behind will definitely cause discomfort and heartache in the future

Stating Your Values Clearly

. Now the second thing that's going to be able to help you parents in dealing with your children to becoming that responsible parent is helping them to understand that there are consequences for their actions .

Now recently in New Jersey here , there was a situation that developed in Seaside Heights over Memorial Day weekend and it's been circulating on the news and I'm going to cover this story in just a little bit .

But people are going back and forth with the fact that they feel as though teens should be punished or put on curfews or dealt with a certain way because they're committing these crimes or involved in these riots , while other persons believe parents should be held responsible for the actions of their teens . Here's the truth .

A parent can do everything in their power to raise their child the right way , to inculcate them in a steady , stable environment and build them up , but when that child gets to a point of reasoning and relying on their own guidance and decisions in life , there's no guarantee that that child is going to stick to the upbringing that they had from good parents .

So what can you do as a parent ? It's vital that you help your child to understand whatever choice they decide to make , there are going to be consequences . One principle that I really , really love in this regard is whatever a person is sowing , this , that person will also reap .

This is a principle of cause and effect and it can be observed in virtually every aspect of life . When you think back to your own childhood , you no doubt remember the memorable lessons you learned in which you had to face the consequences of your actions . Today , a lot of children are not taught that course of action .

Sometimes parents have good intentions and trying to stand up for their kids and trying to teach their kids . You know to stand up for your rights and stand up for what you believe in and all of those things , et cetera . But there has to be a balance .

Okay With the way that parents are teaching children now , if they're not careful , they can cause their children harm to themselves , and in these cases of these riots that are going on in Woodbridge Mall and Menlo and the incident in Seaside Heights , it's clear that there's confusion as to if a child will ever be held accountable for their actions .

So , as parents , be vigilant . Use real life examples to explain to your child how those who adopted a wrong course of action or those who made poor choices in life suffered the consequences . They didn't really benefit .

I know in school we used to have these little pep talks and it was one of those things where it just you know it would be boring , like we would have these lectures on a regular basis and they would try to steer us away from drug abuse and they would try to steer us away from all sorts of , you know , harmful practice , and the person would come in every ,

I guess , three months , every marking period , to talk to us young persons about ways that we can better our lives . But they don't really do that thing anymore , and so now social media is putting more of that pressure on kids , teenagers , young adults to follow this course that could damage their lives essentially .

So , as parents , it's going to be vital for you to be able to help your children to understand that their actions do have consequences . Now , the third point in which we were focusing on is , along with helping your child to see consequences with their actions , build positive traits .

Sometimes people have kids and they think that a child is going to naturally be good on their own if they are not exposed to negative circumstances . Well , but the reality

Teaching Consequences of Actions

is all of us are influenced by someone . All of us are going to be influenced by a friend or a teacher , or a TV shows , music or whatever the case is . So , as a parent , it's really important to help your child to build positive traits regarding their circumstances . Child to build positive traits regarding their circumstances .

For example , instead of telling your child , do as I say and not as I do , help your child to make the connection between their choices , their actions and the quality . So if you're going to give your children chores or something of that nature , make sure that you explain to them how this is going to benefit them in the long run .

Help them to pursue good qualities that produce healthy outcomes . You see , as children grow , they develop a pattern of conduct that characterizes them and some , because of their negative associates , they have been categorized as negative persons .

So it's very true of what I tell people regarding the kids on my school bus Just because they've been in poor circumstances does not mean that they're bad kids . They just need guidance . They need someone to have a better view of them than what's normal .

In addition to emphasizing the consequences , as was mentioned earlier , you can help your child to think about the character traits for which he or she would like to be known . Your child to think about the character traits for which he or she would like to be known .

So if you want your child to benefit and come off successful in connection with the circumstances they're facing today , you can find these three principles there and that can really fortify your family and build you up .

It's very hard to be able to come here every week on this podcast and go through these stories and see that these young persons are losing their lives and getting involved in violence and being bullied and all of those things because no one is taking that proper interest in them .

But I guarantee you that if you ask your kids just two questions what type of person do I want my child to be and what would a person like that do in this situation Then you can really be able to see the benefit in the long run . So that was just our theme for this episode .

Parents continue to be vigilant as possibly as you can to strengthen your children to make better and wiser decisions in these darkened times . Jaden , what's going on , man ? Sorry about that . I just got through this . You know this . You know , um , uh , this theme for this episode , um , we're just really focusing on , you know , young people .

You know what I mean . It's just there's a lot of young people going through things today and you know the masses really don't care about it , which is expected . You know people don't really think about it . But , um , you know , that's just . That's just where we are today . Oh , he , well , he'll probably be back .

I mean , he pops in alive every once in a while , so you know that's how that goes . Well , guys , as always , we have 10 stories this episode that are going to leave you somewhat shocked . Some of these thoughts that come with these stories that we're going to cover are unsettling . Thoughts that come with these stories that we're going to cover are unsettling .

But we do believe that by speaking about these things in an open environment and being able to express concern and care for these victims and these stories , that persons can really benefit and come off victorious from these challenges . Here's our first story Starmount High School vandalized as part of senior prank .

Yadkin County School says A school in the Piedmont Triad was vandalized in a senior prank . According to officials with Yadkin County Schools , on the evening of Monday , may 12th , starmount High School was vandalized and the next day custodians arrived to find several issues .

While toilet paper and sidewalk chalk were seen in the courtyard , officials said true vandalism was also found . Words and inappropriate depictions were spray painted on buildings , the external walk-in buildings , where the floors and desks were coated with baby oil .

Officials said baby oil was also coated on several concrete areas outside , which made those areas very slick and impassable . Additionally , a washing machine was brought onto campus and filled with concrete and then that bag of concrete was thrown onto the front doors of the school where it hardened overnight .

School and maintenance staff were pulled from their normal assignments and worked tirelessly to clean the vandalism before students could arrive . Officials said two buildings were shut down due to unsafe conditions from the baby oil . All vandalism was cleared by the next day .

Officials said that although there was very little permanent damage , the total estimated cost of damage was just over $2,000 . The total estimated cost of damage was just over $2,000 . Starmount High did impose a school-level discipline and a restitution payment , but no charges have been filed at this time . The investigation is ongoing .

So every year you have this purpose of a senior prank and correct me if I'm wrong was to provide a legacy worth remembering for the next class of seniors coming the following year . Well , in this story it seems they took the prank too far .

I think when a senior prank goes too far , when the school has to pay for damages , I think that the motive here in connection with this story was good , but sometimes just because you have good qualities doesn't mean you have good intentions . Hopefully this doesn't become an ongoing problem .

Sometimes this becomes a year after year thing and then everyone else has to suffer as a result . Now in the state of New Jersey , the state where I live , this has become an ongoing problem . A couple of weeks ago , menlo Mall was trashed by a plethora of teenagers running through the facility and we thought that this was the last of the drama and the chaos .

Well , the following week or the week after two weeks , these teens returned , I'm assuming they returned to cause more mayhem , this time at woodbridge mall . 300 teens forced . Shutdown of new jersey carnival after tiktok inspired meetup descends into chaos and spreads to nearby mall .

Hundreds of teenagers shut down a new jersey carnival after a tikt TikTok meetup spun out of control and spread into a nearby mall , mirroring a similar teen rendezvous at another local mall that injured a cop last week .

The Woodbridge Police Department responded to an unruly horde of approximately 300 youths gathered at the Woodbridge Center Carnival around 9 pm Saturday . According to RLS Media , the teens were supposedly rallied by a series of TikTok posts calling for an impromptu link-up at the carnival .

The carnival required anyone under the age of 18 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian . All adult attendees were also required to show valid identification to be permitted entry , according to the carnival website . But still the crowd of youths at the carnival grew so unruly that Woodbridge police had to call on neighboring departments for backup , rls reported .

Eventually the chaos spread into the Woodbridge Center Mall , forcing many stores to lock up early and even shelter shoppers inside as the teens ran wild . On Sunday many of the carnival attendees posted video compilations of their time observing or participating in the havoc across Woodbridge .

Some of the teenagers did break away from Woodbridge and they started making their way towards the Menlo Park Mall in Edison , the site of the last hooligan meetup on foot . Edison police turned up at the mall ahead of the group to ensure there were no repeats of last week's brawl .

According to the local outlet , edison Mayor Sam Joshi called for increased security and even a curfew at the Menlo Park Mall in the wake of last week's melee , which left one cop with a fractured ankle . He hopes that the new regulations will be implemented in a few weeks .

According to my Central Jersey , it's unclear if any participating youths were arrested following the carnival or if anyone was injured . The Post did reach out to the Woodbridge and Edison police departments for clarity , but so far no follow-up . So this is just the new thing that's been going on here in New Jersey .

I mean , I can't say that I'm shocked , you know , but I can say that it is surprising that these things happen just so close to home . I don't know as to what the thrill is here with young persons today . I really don't get it . Like you know , there is no method to this madness , you know .

It just seems as though someone is inciting these persons on TikTok to meet up at this place and just cause mayhem and pandemonium . Now here's where things get really juicy . Some people are feeling as though parents should be held responsible for the actions of their children , while others believe that the law needs to be more strict on teenagers .

This is the way I see it . To be honest with you , if you hold the parent accountable for these type of things that their child does , at what point do you draw the line ? At what point do you say , hey , you're going to hold them accountable for rioting at the mall , but when it comes to other crimes , we're not going to hold the parent accountable .

That becomes a problem , a conflict of interest there , and then you have to think about the fact that children have free will . Children have the choice to determine what they're going to do with their free will . So holding a parent accountable simply because their children are out there acting a fool , I think that's a little bit silly .

The real problem is the fact that these kids don't have any guidance or morals , and as long as that continues to be a problem , then you're going to have these incidences . We're happy to report that no one was hurt

Building Positive Traits in Children

in this incident regarding Woodbridge Mall , but we do have reason to believe that this is something that's going to be ongoing in New Jersey . So for those of you guys who are here from New Jersey , please be careful and check your surroundings , because we might be heading for some wild activity this summer . Here's our following story Alabama teacher arrested .

Four-year-old leaves school with near fatal blood alcohol level . A South Alabama teacher has been arrested after a child left school with a blood alcohol content level near a deadly .300 .

On April 28th , a four-year-old was picked up by her parents and taken to USA Children and Women's Hospital after the child was acting lethargic and was limp like a noodle , according to her father . After conducting tests , it was determined the child had a blood alcohol content level of 0.286 . The child was released from the hospital after two days .

According to the Mobile County Sheriff's Office , tracy Walker was arrested for the incident . After opening an investigation into the incident on May 6th , the agency said that during an interview with the child , she said her teacher gave her a drink that made her feel sick . Investigators also talked to medical professional , teachers and family members of the child .

Walker has been charged with aggravated child abuse according to jail records . Now I think this is the first time on this show that I've had to report an administrator giving a child and I just want to confirm this age here four-year-old . This administrator gave this four-year-old child alcohol and it nearly killed them .

The administrator has been arrested unfortunate man . The things that parents have to go through in order to not only make ends meet , but also to try to find a stable and healthy environment for their child to grow up in .

To the parents of this four-year-old , we're happy to note that the child is going to survive , but we're definitely saddened to report that this was the incident regarding your four-year-old . We hope that they're going to make a well recovery in the days , weeks and years ahead .

In this following story , we are expressing condolences for the loss of two high school individuals that were killed unexpectedly . Two Otsego high school graduates die in head on crash of off-road vehicles .

Families and friends awoke to the news that two 18-year-olds died early Saturday while driving off-road vehicles on Henry Lucas County Road near South River Road in the vicinity of Grand Rapids , ohio . The two had just graduated from Otsego High School .

On Thursday , braden Sadler of Grand Rapids and Jack Rowland of Perrysburg were pronounced dead at the scene following the crash that occurred at about 12.06 am . According to a report by the Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol , mr Sadler was driving a 2018 Kawasaki KLX 140 northbound .

Mr Rowland was driving a 2001 Honda TRX 400 EX southbound in the northbound lane . When the two vehicles collided head-on , neither driver was wearing a helmet and alcohol was believed to be a factor . According to the State Patrol , neither vehicle was equipped to be driven on a public roadway .

Mr Oshia announced that counseling services , including grief counselors , mental health professionals and members of the crisis response team , will be available for students and staff on Tuesday . He urged parents and students to reach out to support services that will continue into the coming days and weeks .

In addition , he urged parents and students to reach out to support services that will continue into the coming days and weeks . In addition , he urged parents to speak openly with their children about grief and loss . How tragic it is when two persons , two young persons such as this , lose their lives in an unforeseen occurrence .

We do want to express our condolences to the families the victims' families regarding this tragedy , but we also , at the same time , want to commend the school because of the fact that they took the precautions needed to help people to cope with these circumstances . We wish you guys all the best there in Ohio as you deal with this recent tragedy .

Now , in this following story , we're turning the wheel a little bit , dealing with school violence and fighting Two arrested guns seized at Everett High School after fight , police arrested two people , including a 17-year-old , and seized a gun after being called to Everett

School Violence and Teen Chaos

High School to respond to a fight Tuesday afternoon . The Lansing Police Department says that at around 12.39 pm officers were dispatched to the school about a fight involving a knife . As they were on the way , they were told that there was someone with a gun running behind the school .

After arriving , officers were initially unable to find anyone involved , but Lansing School District officials told them that they had taken a handgun from a 17-year-old boy inside the school . Police seized the gun and the teen was arrested .

Upon further investigation , officers went to the 1800th block of Osband Avenue where they talked to and arrested a 50-year-old woman who they say was involved in the initial fight complaint . Police say both have been charged with weapon-related offenses .

This is an ongoing investigation , so if you have any information of this incident , you are encouraged to contact the Lansing Police Department , and that's there in Michigan .

You know it used to be that school was a place of refuge and safe haven for young persons , but now school has become the very place where violence and corruption and all of those negative things have started to become increased . So now , where can these young persons turn ? That's really the question .

If you can't go to school , you know you not be worried about your teacher trying to prey on you or get involved in some violent act , and you can't trust the administration and you can't trust your football coaches and your extracurricular activity coaches , then where are these young persons going to turn ? Allow this platform to be a microphone for you guys .

Whatever you're going through in school , whatever you're struggling with , the same thing I tell my kids on my school bus these are dark times that we're dealing with and a lot of people don't want to accept that reality , that these are distressing times that we're living in like never before .

Rather than hold these deep emotions within you or get involved in some self-destructive habit , channel these emotions , express them to the right people and get the support that you need in order to come off victorious . In our following story , we are expressing condolences again to a student that was killed . Middle school student killed .

Girl seriously injured in rollover crash in Bedford . Police say A 13-year-old Manchester middle school student was killed in a rollover crash while driving a stolen car early Wednesday morning in Bedford police said . Police said a car rolled over around 1.50 am and the boy who was driving died at a hospital .

A 14-year-old girl who was also in the car suffered serious injuries . According to the police , the identities of the juveniles have not been released , but the boy who was killed was a student at Southside Middle School in Manchester .

Officials said Manchester police have added that about an hour before the crash the car had been reported stolen by a food delivery driver who said he had briefly left the car unattended on Clifford Avenue . Police say they spotted the car in the area of Kenberma Street operating without its headlights on .

Police said the car accelerated when the cruiser's lights and sirens were activated and the officer decided to end the chase after losing sight of the vehicle when it continued on the highway . New Hampshire State Police discovered the overturned car off Route 101 in Bedford .

A man who lives behind the sound barrier by the exit said that he and his girlfriend heard the crash and then screaming coming from the female passenger . He said he ran out to a fire lane behind the house and yelled at the girl to keep screaming until he could find her . The couple brought the girl to their apartment and called an ambulance .

They said that the girl said she was kidnapped and seemed confused , at first saying she was 13 and then 16 . Manchester Superintendent , jennifer Camille , released a statement about the crash . Regarding this incident , the Kilton Road on and off ramps to Route 101 were closed for several hours before police reopened them around 7.15 am .

Now this story is stating that this car was stolen . We don't know what the surrounding details were regarding this incident , but the most important thing is that there was a young person in this car that lost their lives , and I can't even imagine as to how the family is feeling right now .

There are different stages of death that we go through or experience in this world .

Some of that death we can anticipate , such as when a relative has cancer or they've been diagnosed with a terminal illness , but then there's moments like this that are unexpected , and when you lose someone unexpectedly like you know when I lost my brother there's a series of things that go through your mind , like your last words to that person , or if that person

really knew that you loved them , or if you had an argument with that person before this tragic end . So all of those things may go through a person's mind . The key guys , though , is not to blame yourselves , not to feel as though you could have done something different to prevent this outcome .

The reality is , all of us make choices in life and sometimes these choices cause heartbreak and pain to our loved ones . These choices cause heartbreak and pain to our loved ones . So , to the victim's family , we do encourage you guys to continue to find support and comfort from your loved ones , from your family , from your friends .

Do not go through this tremendous loss by yourself and , if at all possible , reach out to us here on this podcast and express how this tragic incident in your life made you feel . We'll give you guys all the love and support that you need to continue on in the days ahead . Now , in our next story , we're still just dealing with a lot of loss .

This episode just constant losses . We want to extend our condolences to this next victim's family . Arp community mourns loss of beloved elementary school student . The ARP community is mourning the loss of a beloved elementary student who passed away this weekend . Nine-year-old Chloe Trimble passed away Saturday morning .

Her father , patrick Trimble , said playing and running outside Saturday with family members and Ben Wheeler when she had trouble breathing and she started to have a seizure . Her brother called for help and Chloe aunt Nancy Nicholas , began CPR and compressions .

The ambulance arrived and got her stable before taking her to Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital , where she and her parents were then life-flighted to Children's Hospital in Dallas . The staff at Children's worked hard to revive her , but she passed away at 3.30 pm . Trimble said .

Trimble and Chloe's mother , alicia Nicholas , asked for an autopsy to determine her cause of death . Chloe will be remembered as a brave , smart kid who had a lot of life and was loved by her whole family . Trimble said Grief counselors will be at ARP Elementary all this week to support students and staff .

Arp ISD said she was going to be a fourth grader next school year . A GoFundMe has been set up to help Chloe's family during this time of loss . The fundraiser describes Chloe as a bright , loving and joyful child who brought happiness to those around her . We want to express our condolences we really want to express that for the life of Chloe here .

Just a sweet appears to be a very joyful , happy , outgoing girl , and it's sad when these things happen . It really is , and there's really no words that can be said to remedy or alleviate the pain that the family is going through , but just being there for them .

Guys , for those of you who knew Chloe personally or went to school with her , or she may have been friends with your child's , you know , or your children . Try your best to do something nice for the family so that they can cope with this devastation . Very tragic indeed , very sad story .

In the following story we do return back to my home state of New Jersey , dealing with a very serious allegation against a teacher regarding child abuse . St Thomas Aquinas High School teacher and coach charged with child sexual abuse .

Tragic Teen Accidents and Loss

A teacher and coach at St Thomas Aquinas High School in Edison has been charged with four counts of child sex crimes , some of which allegedly occurred on school grounds .

Axel Palomares , 50 , of Morristown , was arrested May 27 without incident at his home and charged with second-degree manufacturing of child sexual abuse material , second-degree endangering the welfare of a child , third-degree possession of a child with sexual abuse material and fourth-degree invasion of privacy .

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office announced Palomares was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing . After receiving a cyber tip from the New Jersey State Police , the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office conducted an investigation which led to the charges against Palomares .

According to the prosecutor's office , the administration of St Thomas Aquinas High School cooperated with local , county and state law enforcement in the investigation which led to authorities searching the school May 27, .

According to a Diocese of Metuchen statement , law enforcement officials informed the diocese that St Thomas Aquinas High School is among the places where the alleged crimes took place . The statement said According to the diocese , a preliminary investigation into Palomares' employment record shows nothing indicating any cause for concern .

He was subject to the required criminal background checks and was up to date and in compliance with all the policies and training requirements mandated by the school and the diocese .

The diocese said school counselors stand ready to assist any student and it will be working with the law enforcement community to ascertain if there are any better ways to safeguard students from this type of behavior . Pollard-maris was announced at the school's girls soccer coach in 2024 . He is no longer listed on the school's roster of athletic coaches .

The investigation is active and continuing . Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Ken McGarry of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office at 732-745-3140 . Background checks do not stop people from committing these crimes . If the person hasn't committed a crime in the past , then there's nothing to find in their background .

It takes one temptation , it takes one act of a person's free will to unleash this type of abuse on children ? Furthermore , why do we continue to let males coach female soccer teams ? There needs to be someone with that male to ensure that these students stay protected . These are just the patterns of these persons who are taking advantage of these students .

These are the patterns that these persons are getting involved in . We're hoping that the victims in connection with this case of child sexual abuse will make a well recovery , but the damage is done . Even if this guy does get locked up , the damage is done for many years regarding these students that he abused .

We wish you guys all the best at St Thomas Aquinas High School here in New Jersey . Again , my home state , our final story . We are concluding with the devastation that occurred again at the Memorial Day Fiesta at the Jersey Shore Boardwalk . I believe we're now visiting Seaside Heights . Dozens arrested after Memorial Day violence rocks Jersey Shore boardwalk .

Dozens of people were arrested after a string of brawls and stabbings involving young adults and juveniles erupted at a popular Jersey Shore boardwalk over Memorial Day weekend , forcing authorities to temporarily shut down the popular tourist site .

At least 73 people 52 adults and 21 minors were arrested in Seaside Heights , new Jersey , during the mayhem that began early Friday and ended around 6 am on Monday . Local reports say , citing local police , three young adults were stabbed in separate incidents .

Seaside Heights detective Steve Corman told local media , adding that the third stabbing prompted officials to temporarily shut down the boardwalk just after midnight on Monday . Swat teams were on standby ahead of the weekend after a similar incident occurred during last year's long holiday weekend involving a large group of unruly juveniles .
