¶ Improving Communication Skills in Everyday Life
This is the Everyday Podcast for the Everyday People . Guys , welcome back to another episode of R-E-D . It's the Everyday Podcast for the Everyday People . We are now on episode 29 .
Now , this week , this particular line of stories will leave you , as always , meditating , thinking about ways that you can improve your life , thinking about ways that you can enhance your social relations and be able to comfort persons . That's what the theme of our discussion is this episode .
The theme of today's episode is how can I improve my conversation skills , why talk face to face , how to start a conversation and what your peers say . Why is it that you should talk face to face ? Well , put simply , some people say that face to face conversation is difficult and stressful , especially when they compare it to text texting .
But sooner or later , you'll need to have an in person conversation with persons .
You'll need these skills to meet new friends , to get or and keep a job , and or to start a romantic relationship when you're ready for it , and so there are just some things that you can't say to a person through text , that you have to say face to face or audibly , and that's something that you guys , as young people , are going to need to be able to hone
on . So how can you do that ? How can you start a conversation ? Well , put simply , ask questions . Think of a topic that might interest people and then turn it into a conversation starter . For example , you might say something like did you travel anywhere this past summer ? Or this is a cool website . Have you seen it before ? Or did you hear about it ?
To be even more specific , think of something you have in common with the person . Do you attend the same school or work at the same job ? Use what you have in common with the person to establish common ground in connection with conversation . Here's a word of caution Don't become an interrogator by asking one question after another .
Also , try not to be too personal . Sounds like what's your greatest fear , or why do you always wear blue , may come across a little too personal for some individuals . And finally , be a good listener . Your success and continuing a conversation depends more on your listening ability than on your speaking ability . So that's the theme of our discussion today .
The theme of our episode is how can I , you , we , us improve our communication skills ? All without further ado , we get right into our first story . We're going into the home state of my very own New Jersey , south Jersey father arrested after confronting student in high school classroom .
There is a video attached to this story and as you guys watch it and hear the content of it , let me know what you think in the comment feed . In connection with this particular story , we're going into Paul's borough , new Jersey .
A South Jersey man is facing charges after police say he entered a high school classroom and threatened two students earlier this week . Police say 38 year old Aaron Thomas went into a Paul's borough high school classroom Monday and confronted students who were reportedly in a dispute with his daughter .
In a video posted to Instagram which police are using as part of an investigation , thomas appears to walk up to a student and demand he apologized to his daughter , apologize to my daughter . He says repeatedly throughout the nearly three minute video .
About a minute into the video and adult intervenes and tries to get Thomas to leave , but the situation appears to escalate . Thomas is then seen making physical contact with another student and begins yelling . And after David says Thomas came to the school to sign out his daughter , who was having problems with another student over photos being shared .
Instead of leaving with his daughter , thomas tracked down the other student . Later in the day on Monday Thomas was arrested and charged with simple assault , terrorist threats , trespassing and disorderly conduct . The Paul's borough school district superintendent did send out a letter saying the district is working with police in connection with this incident .
Now there are some who say that dad is wrong . He should have had another plan for handling this kind of mayhem or discomfort that was going on in connection with his daughter . However , when you think about what pressure a father is under today , you can say he should have gone one direction or tried to rationalize his emotions .
But in another perspective you can see how a father is just trying to protect his daughter in a darkened world that we live in Now . Unfortunately , a person today may not see it that way . Individuals or superior authorities may not see it that way . A father protecting his daughter they might see it as something much more .
As for a student his daughter that's involved perhaps honing in on communication skills can help her to see as to how her talking to her father , communicating with him , can diffuse things in the future . It's obvious he found out about these photos through some channel .
The article doesn't say as to whether it was through his daughter , but maybe in the future by her continuing to build that relationship with dad , she can be able to work out ways in which they can come to an agreement as to how they're going to handle these things as a family .
Our follow-up story New Jersey High School Principal arrested for physical altercation with female students , parking fierce debate . We're going now into Maplewood , new Jersey . A New Jersey High School principal has been charged with assault on a female student , sparking deep divides in the community over allegations about how school faculty discipline students of color .
Columbia High School principal , frank Sanchez , 49 , surrendered to detectives with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Monday morning . Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Finnelli told the Post Sanchez was brought up on charges of simple assault and second degree endangering the welfare of a child related to an incident that supposedly took place on March 9 , 2023 .
The charging documents viewed by the Post explained , but some supporters of Sanchez , including local parents and a former school district board member , have said his actions were justified and called the campaign against him a witch hunt .
Dr Kevin F Gilbert , the acting superintendent for the contentious South Orange Maplewood School District , reported the incident to police on December 22 , 2023 . Gilbert told officers that the school had hired an outside detective to look into the matter after an affirmative action complaint was filed against Sanchez .
The documents noted Video footage from the incident allegedly showed Sanchez pushing , shoving or grabbing a female student by the arm as he yanked her toward a staircase . According to the charging report , when the girl pulled away , sanchez reached for her again and they tussled for about 30 seconds .
The footage then supposedly showed the pair crashing through a door while Sanchez held the girl up against a wall . The complaint stated In addition to the video evidence , another student claimed to have witnessed the incident and told investigators that Sanchez put his hand on the student for no reason .
The girl herself also gave a statement to detectives with the prosecutor's office and told them that she had bruising after the alleged confrontation .
The charging documents said the alleged victim's name was redacted from the report , but the Black parent's workshop and advocacy for groups of Black families in the South Orange Maple Wood School District claimed on Facebook that she was a Black female Columbia High School student .
The Black parent's workshop said the March 9 , 2023 incident was part of a troubling pattern of inappropriate disciplinary actions targeted against Black students . The Black parent's workshop concerns about Sanchez were previously swept under the rug at board meetings .
The group complained we were the only organization that expressed disapproval of the renewal of Mr Sanchez's contract when it became known by the Board of Education . The statement added when reached out for comment , mr Sanchez has had no remarks in connection with this incident .
When you think about stories like this and again , you have to really put yourself in the position of the other person . The entire student body is supporting Mr Sanchez here . They're stating that this was not racially driven , that this man did not put his hands on this girl simply because he wanted to . It wasn't an act of rebellion .
He wasn't going rogue , as it were . He was just doing his job . And that begs a question for us today . How can these administrators do their jobs ? How can they handle these certain situations when it seems to be a lose lose situation ?
In one breath , if they don't do something , they're neglecting the child , but in another breath , if they do something , then now they're abusive . And so where is that line between doing your job , having backup for doing your job , or getting the benefit of the doubt ? Where do you find the lines between those different boundaries ?
Well , we wish Mr Sanchez the best there and make bold new jersey , and we know that it's going to be very difficult for him to be able to rise above these allegations and these charges . We wish all of the participants the best as well , including the female student .
If she feels as though she was attacked by this individual , then those feelings have to be discussed . You don't push them under the rug , you wouldn't sweep them under the rug , but there has to be an active discussion in which these things can be handled under the proper channels or these things are going to continue to happen in the school system .
We wish all individuals involved in connection with this story a well recovery .
¶ Tragic Teen Communication and Violence
Our follow-up story is still traversing that line of teen communication and some of the challenges that can come from a lack of communication . Here's our follow-up story Two crews resume search for a 15-year-old Stockton student who jumped into the water . We're going now into Stockton .
California Crews on Friday began a third day of searching for a 15-year-old boy who jumped into a body of water near Stag High School after the teen ran away from the school following a fight . According to the San Jehoican County Sheriff's Office On Friday , a memorial made out of candles that spelled I love you , x-man with a heart , was visible at the scene .
The missing child's mother , amanda Martinez , called for anyone with a boat or kayak to help search near the levees . She said her child was last seen wearing a black jacket and gray sweatpants . Stockton Unified School District officials have said there was a fight between four students on campus around 2 pm on Wednesday .
Spokesperson Melinda Meza on Thursday said the fight started with two students but then two more jumped in Because two of the students were wearing ski masks . Meza said administrators who tried to break up the fight thought that the intruders might have been involved , so school staff contacted the school district's Department of Public Safety .
By the time a school resource officer arrived to also intervene . Two of the students had already run up a levee that leads into the Calaveras River . Police Chief Myra Franco said the officer drove up the levee and spotted them on a middle island in the river .
Franco said the officer tried to stop them but then he lost sight of them when they went into the water . Franco said the officer then drove to the other side of the river . That's where he spotted one of the teens who said his friend might still be in the water . After that the San Jojoican County Sheriff's boat Unit arrived around 2.30 pm .
He searched the water until around 8 pm when it got dark and they resumed searching on until Thursday . The missing teen is an independent study student at Stag High School District . Officials said the other three students involved are also students at Stag High . Meza said counselors and support would be available at the school on Thursday .
Students can reach counselors and mental health clinicians at 209-933-7445 , extension 8485 . 209-933-7445 , extension 8485 . A name and description of the teen is not yet being released , meza said , explaining that it's still part of the Sheriff's Office investigation . It's also unknown what led to the fight or why the teens decided to jump in the water .
A further update in connection with this story has led us to come to the conclusion that this is no longer a search . The police have suspended their efforts in searching for this missing teen . Any updates that come in connection with this story , we will update you guys as that information comes to us here at the RED team .
Now , when you think about how these things transpired , how this fight started , how these things came about , there are children today going through intense , intense challenges and if they're not getting that proper care that they need at home , it's always going to be hard for them .
And so , going back to our main topic of discussion communicating , talk to someone , be open and vulnerable In order to communicate what's going on in your life . You have to be vulnerable and , guys , I know it's not easy to be vulnerable . Trust me , it's not easy for me either , but I understand that .
Being vulnerable can be likened to a bridge there's only one way across it and that's through it . So in order for you to grow as an individual and get to that other side , to reach that other emotional goal of life that you're trying to acquire , you're going to need to be vulnerable as best as your circumstances will allow . Our following story very shocking .
It's an update to a story that we covered last week . I think you guys will find this to be most gripping , to say the least . There is a video attached to this story and some platforms will not allow us to upload it , but you can always connect to my full video to be able to see just what took place here at this next school .
Missouri teen and shocking high school beatdown pictured fighting hard to stay alive after attack . The Missouri teen who was left in critical condition after another teenage girl slammed her head into the ground during a caught on camera brawl , has been identified as a 15-year-old named Kaylee .
The young teen was pictured smiling away from the camera in a photo on a GoFundMe fundraiser shared by a family friend . She is fighting hard to stay alive and heal , but this is only the beginning of a very uphill battle . The description said of Kaylee's condition she is currently suffering from a serious brain bleed and swelling .
The friend added we will not know the extent of the brain damage that has occurred until she wakes up , but the path to recovery will be extremely hard on the family , not only mentally but financially . They wrote . As of Wednesday morning , the fundraiser had raked in nearly $24,000 of his $40,000 goal . The teen was wounded .
Friday afternoon when a fight broke out near Hazelwood High School in St Louis County , kaylee and a second unidentified girl started hitting each other before the latter pushed her to the ground and started punching her . The troubling footage showed Kaylee could be seen trying to defend herself while the other girl repeatedly called her an explicative .
When the second teen finally got on top of Kaylee and smashed her head into the ground , all lookers could be heard yelling another explicative . Kaylee was eventually left lying motionless on the ground while others continued to scuffle . After police arrived , an unidentified 15-year-old girl was taken into custody .
The investigation of the fight is still ongoing , but Attorney General Andrew Bailey said the criminal should be charged and tried as an adult . If the victim dies , that offense should rise to a homicide . The shocking thing in connection with this story regarding Kaylee's circumstance is the motive of the fight .
Again , going back to our theme of communication , kaylee may not have done anything wrong , or maybe she did do something wrong , but just because there was a wrong done doesn't mean that this is the way to handle things .
There are two lives here that are now going to be compromised because of a lack of self-control , because of a lack of communicating , because of a lack of love in the family . Guys , there are other ways to handle your problems . Violence is not the answer Now .
Is RED encouraging you guys not to protect yourself and defend yourself when there is imminent threat to your life ? Absolutely not . You need to protect yourself . The contents of this video show rage , anger and a sort of fierceness that just can't be dismissed . We are hoping and wishing Kaylee a well and speedy recovery .
If anything transpires or grows in connection with her circumstances , we will fully report everything that we can in connection with this story to each and every one of you guys . We love you guys and we wish all of you the best in connection with this story , and our hearts do go out to you , family members and friends of Kaylee .
This next story in particular is one of great sadness . It involves a tragedy of unforeseen occurrences , but it also highlights the seriousness of traveling at certain times of the night . For you guys out there who like to roam the streets at certain time of day , try your best to be cautious .

We love you and we're hoping you guys are going to be okay and we wish you the best . We're now following up with our sexual encounters segment . This is a series of stories in which things have become frighteningly gruesome in school environments . It's a series of stories in which teachers are caught doing very , very inappropriate things regarding young persons .
39 year old Hollywood middle school teacher charged with molestation of a minor . We're going now into Hollywood , florida . A Hollywood middle school teacher was arrested on Wednesday accused of inappropriate behavior with a student . Felicia Sharanda Smith , 39 , was charged with molestation of a child between the ages of 12 and 16 and lewd and lascivious conduct .
During her court appearance on Thursday afternoon , a judge set her bond at $150,000 . Smith paid the bond and is expected to be released soon . If Smith pays her bond , she must be fitted with a GPS ankle monitor . He was also ordered to not have any contact with the victim or any minors and cannot step foot on any school's campus in the Tri-County area .
According to Hollywood police , officers were made aware of inappropriate contact between a teacher and a student at Driftwood Middle School located at 2751 North 70th Terrace . During their investigation , detectives questioned Smith and she was arrested . She admitted to police that at the beginning of the year she and a student developed a maternal relationship .
Smith also admitted that she kissed the student on school grounds . The teacher did admit to having a maternal relationship with the student since the beginning of the year and then did admit that there was kissing involved after that to Hollywood police spokesperson Deanna Bettnischecki . The victim police said told officers that she was forced to inappropriately touch Smith .
The victim's family began asking questions after the young victim came home with marks on their body . Police said the child claimed the marks on the body were from injuries with a football at school . The teen later admitted that she had been skipping her six-period class since February and spent that time in Smith's classroom and her classroom closet .
During Smith's planning period Smith was a language arts teacher at the school . The victim told detectives that Smith told her not to tell anyone because she could lose her job if people found out . The Broward County Schools Board released a statement in connection with the seriousness of this incident .
Hollywood police are working closely with BCPS as they continue to investigate . According to the school district , smith worked as a substitute teacher from mid-2019 to 2022 . In July 2022 , she became a permanent teacher at Driftwood Middle . You wouldn't expect these things to occur in the school today , or maybe you would . Communication is vital .
We know that when victims are going through these circumstances , it can be very difficult for them to express how they're feeling , the concern , the fear that they have . Talk to someone , guys , if your circumstances allow . Talk to someone and get these feelings out .
We wish the victim the best as this story develops and we'll be able to update you , guys , should anything else occur . Here's our next story in that same category of unforeseen and very difficult things .
¶ School Safety and Sexual Misconduct Issues
Wood County BOE votes to suspend middle school basketball coach accused of sexual abuse . We're going into Parkersburg , west Virginia . A middle school basketball coach accused of sexual misconduct was suspended in a unanimous special session vote by the Wood County Board of Education Friday , according to the school officials .
School said the board voted in favor of an unpaid suspension of 40-year-old Duane Sponseller of Parkersburg , who was facing seven charges of sexual abuse amid an investigation by Parkersburg Police , investigators said two male Van Devender middle school students reported they were touched inappropriately in Sponseller's office while he was coaching the team .
Police said Sponseller has been released on a $55,000 bond and faces 10 to 20 years of imprisonment for the charges . Anyone with information on the alleged misconduct can contact investigators at 304-424-1052 or 304-424-1061 . A basketball coach is supposed to be someone that you can trust , an individual in which you can be able to confide and to express yourself .
The sad , sad world that we live in . These persons are taking that security and they're turning it into a means of locking a child emotionally . We know that it's not easy for you parents coping with these things right here with you guys , love you guys .
But at the same time , parents wake up and recognize what's going on in your teenager's life , those points that we considered earlier in our discussion . They can help parents , too , to communicate effectively with the teenager . Don't write your teenager off as a lost cause . Don't make your teenager feel that they're less than that .
Their emotions have no value with you . If you allow your teenagers to be able to express themselves to you , then they will Be patient . Give it time and then you'll be able to learn as to what's going on with them and how you can improve your relationship as a parent to your child . Our next story follows that same line of circumstance .
We're going now into Robson County , north Carolina . A school custodian who was recently suspended has been arrested and charged .
According to the Robson County Sheriff's Office , antoine Sinclair , 28 , of Red Springs , is charged with two counts of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor , two counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor , two counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of disseminating obscenity .
Authorities say the charges are in relation to inappropriate photographs , videos and texts that were sent to students at Red Springs Middle School Over the past two weeks . Investigators said they conducted several interviews after your parent reported the incident to the Robson County Sheriff's Office . The investigation is ongoing and more charges will be forthcoming .
The case is being investigated by the Robson County Sheriff's Office juvenile division . Sinclair was placed in the custody of the Robson County Detention Center with a $1 million secure bond .
Nothing further in connection with this story Again , a school janitor having the contact information of a student , using that information , manipulating the situation , leaving victims devastated . Parents again , just to echo those sentiments . Get to know what's going on in your child's life . Don't look at this as a form of you not doing the very best that you can .
Sometimes you can do the best that you can and things don't work out . However , stay focused , stay consistent , do your best and things will work out . We wish the victims in connection with this story a well and speedy recovery .
Now moving on to our next story in connection with the dangers that continue to escalate in the school environment , disturbing video shows helpless students attacked by bullies at Minnesota Middle School . There's a video attached in connection with this story .
Some servers will not allow me to upload it , but we'll see as to what we can be able to do to provide you guys with that footage . This following story follows that same theme of violence in the school system Notice 6th grade girl brutally attacked by a classmate at Southern California School .
¶ School Violence and Safety Concerns
A middle school student in Riverside County could be facing misdemeanor assault and battery charges after an alleged unprovoked and violent attack on a 6th grade girl that was captured on cellphone cameras . The incident , according to the Riverside Police Department , occurred on March 15th just before 3pm at Arizona Middle School located at 11-045 Arizona Ave .
Footage on the fight , which can be difficult to watch shows a classmate of the 6th grade girl stepping from behind , pull her back by her hair and start punching her as other students surround them and film the attacks on their phones .
In another video obtained by KTLA , the student that jumped Jasmine's daughter appears to be preparing for the attack while a friend urges her on , jasmine being the mother of the victim .
According to the victim's mother , jasmine , the classmate confronted her daughter over a boy but within seconds is seen punching the 6th grader and dragging her on the ground with no school staff in sight . Her daughter , a normally shy honors student , was in tears .
She said it wasn't until later that Jasmine was called into the school's office where she saw her daughter's swollen face and clumps of hair that were falling out . After taking her daughter to the hospital , she did file a police report .
She also contacted administrators to see if her daughter's attacker would be expelled , but because the other student is a minor , officials said they cannot tell her anything . In the meantime , jasmine believes there was no one around to protect her daughter . She has since pulled her from school .
Jasmine said she's received very few answers from the school or officials at Alvoord Unified School District until KTLA decided to report on the story . She has since been informed that her daughter's attacker is no longer at Arizona Middle School . The victim in connection with this story heinous , gruesome and devastating the individuals here .
You really have to think about the anger and rage of these young ones today . Why are young people so angry today ? Some might say it's the music or the influence that they have in connection with the circumstances that are just surrounding their lives . But again it goes back to parents .
If parents are not active and proactive or aware of what's going on in their child's life , then these kids can get involved in all sorts of things and kids don't have that restraint to stop . Scientifically and medically , they're saying that they're not developed enough to reason out their emotions , to be able to hold back from anger and rage .
That's just streamlined throughout this entire episode , number 29 , that you just see countless moments , countless times where these kids are just attacking individuals without any motive or reason . They're just doing it over a boy , over simple things , things that can be discussed and communicated were attacking and beating people to their nearly half-dad .
Here's our next story and again it's another videoed circumstance . Video of boy being violently attacked raises concerns at Adelphi Middle School . Video shared on social media of a boy being violently attacked caused concern and prompted an investigation at a middle school in Adelphi , maryland .
The disturbing video circulated among students at Sotomayor Middle School , shows a boy being led by people wearing ski masks . He's ordered to get on his knees and a countdown begins . A gun is pointed at his head as the boy begs for mercy . Members of the group kick and beat the boy and then the video cuts off .
Prince George's County Police provided a statement which said in part that the department is aware of the video and is working to identify those involved in an effort to ensure the safety of the victim in the video , as well as working to determine when and where this was recorded . It's unclear what happened next or what injuries the boy received .
The video was blurred for the victim's privacy . The video does have students and parents at Sotomayor Middle School concerned . One child said I feel scared , emotional . A parent of a student at Sotomayor Middle School made a recording that was released or received on Thursday .
It says here , dated March 14 , 2024 , that they were informed about a threat of violence made on social media . Immediate action was taken by school administrators and local law enforcement to investigate , parents said . Photos show a chaotic pick up at the school on Thursday afternoon . They said the recorded message left a lot of questions about what happened .
Many of their classmates , students and individuals didn't go to school on Friday . A police presence could be seen on campus throughout the day . The tragedies involved in going to school these days are just horrendous . We are hoping that this victim is able to recover from this abuse , this beating .
We don't have the full context of the story , but see , that's not what we do here , guys . It's not about necessarily . Of course , we know that actions have consequences , but never at the expense of someone else's life . How can you cope with mistakes that you've made ? Perhaps this young man made a mistake and has led him to a certain outcome .
Try your best to reason before making decisions . Who are your associates ? What do they do in their spare time ? Who do they hang out with ? Look ahead and you can possibly be able to prevent circumstances like this from unfolding .
At the same time , do realize that we all live in a world dictated by unforeseen occurrences , so this could have been a very , very severe case of bullying . Continue to protect yourselves as you traverse your school environment .
In this next story , you'll be able to discover very well just what some teachers have to deal with and the pressures that they are facing each and every single day in this world that we have to live in . A teacher school safety monitor get into fight at Harrisburg High School . We're going now into Harrisburg , pennsylvania .
A teacher and a school monitor security monitor are on leave after they got into a fight at Dauphin County High School on Wednesday . The fight happened around 8am at the Harrisburg High School , john Harris Campus , school district of Harrisburg . Superintendent Eric Terman said the security monitor entered a classroom and confronted the teacher about a personal issue .
The verbal altercation escalated into a fist fight . Other teachers , security staff and a student had to break it up . No one was injured . Both employees were escorted from the building and now are on paid leave . Terman said we are going to take our time and investigate this and once we have all the information we'll move forward from there .
¶ School Violence Prevention and Communication
He also had this message for the school community . This is not what is expected for teachers or school staff members in the Harrisburg school district . So that's number one . Number two is to understand . This was isolated . Police weren't called to the school . The district is offering counseling to any student or teacher who witnessed the fight and needs to talk .
I thought that was just remarkable , to say the least , because today , when it comes to counseling or seeking help for individuals whom are dealing with certain matters , people will look at that as a sign of weakness .
But the sad reality about it is , when you see things like this that are outside of the normal functions of your day , you have to look forward to dealing with these issues by communicating . That's our theme today of this episode Communicating Talk to someone , ask effective questions and be vulnerable .
You can communicate with persons and it can get you results much quicker than you can get to with your fist , because your fists don't promote communication and it doesn't solve problems . It attacks problems and maybe even , for a time , may remove them , but it does not successfully solve problems , and that is something worth knowing and holding on to .
Well , guys , we are winding down to our final three stories of episode number 29 . This next story falls again in the same category , the same symphony of the previous story that we discussed . Authorities investigate two fights at Charles County Middle School .
The Charles County Sheriff's Office is investigating two violent fights on the same day at a local middle school , one of which was caught on video .
Deputy said on Friday a staff member assaulted another employee at Theodore G Davis Middle School , and video circulating on social media appears to show two students exchanging blows in a classroom while a substitute teacher and their classmates watch . In the second case , investigators said the two middle school students were eventually separated , but not by an adult .
Classmates stepped in and the substitute teacher didn't intervene or report the violence . According to administrators , the violent video made rounds online and caused the substitute their job . The Sheriff's Office said it will consult the state's attorney about criminal charges . Authorities also said that the first fight allegedly involved two employees .
The substitute went to an area of the building that they were not teaching in , became aggressive and physically reached toward the teacher , assaulting that teacher , before another staff member intervened . According to a letter regarding the first fight , the principal said in the letter that the substitute was escorted to a nearby office .
As regards to the second fight , no other information has been provided . Here's the interesting thing about these two girls fighting in this class around the substitute teacher . In some of our stories there have been cases where teachers have intervened , tried to break up fights , just like with principal Sanchez and Maplewood , new Jersey .
If a principal tries to intervene , or a substitute teacher . They could say that this individual is trying to assault this child if the child is injured in the midst of the mayhem . But , on the other hand , because this was recorded and it may , or leaked to public media , the school took the action of firing the substitute teacher .
When you fire an individual under certain circumstances it doesn't do anything but leave you unprepared for the next person that you hire , Because firing someone does not mean you're going to get a good quality worker the next time . It just means you're going to find someone to fill that role and position .
We hope that the school is being proactive and trying to find a substitute teacher that they're going to train to handle these matters , because you might be able to dig and find a substitute teacher that you're going to see and you'll be able to see that maybe , just maybe , this substitute teacher was never trained or taught about the environment of students that
she might be dealing with . In this next story , you'll be able to see just how ludicrous things have become in the school environment and why parents should take proper precaution before putting their kid into school and deciding whether or not they should be homeschooled . Staff members charged after allegedly bringing gun to Hamilton Southeastern Elementary School .
This is Fisher's , indiana . Parents at a Hamilton Southeastern Elementary School are concerned . After learning , a staff member allegedly brought a weapon to the school .
On Tuesday March 5 , police were called to Hoosier Road Elementary School near East 121st Street and Hoosier Road and Fisher's After someone reported that a food services staff member brought a concealed firearm onto school property .
In a statement March 6 , the department said 22-year-old Jovara Ophoia of Fisher's allegedly told a witness she had a handgun in her purse and not to tell anyone because she knew it was a felony . Officers found the gun in her purse in her unsecured office .
Ophoia allegedly told police she had a gun because she works at the Texas Road House on the east side of Indianapolis that was shot up over the weekend and was afraid . Ophoia was taken into custody without incident and arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of a firearm on school property .
The Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office will make final charging decisions in the case . The Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office filed formal charges against Ophoia on Thursday March 7 . Her initial court hearing is scheduled for Tuesday March 12 . No students were involved and there was never any imminent threat to safety , the department said in a statement .
A note went out to parents and staff making them aware of the situation Tuesday morning . One mother said her 9-year-old son attends the school and she never felt he was unsafe there . She said the way this situation was handled only reassures her . The school is a good place to be .
The interesting thing about this story is the fact that parents see danger and it's good to take the high road and say , hey , they handled it swiftly , things are well , my son was safe . But make no mistake about it that this thing could have gotten out of control . This woman could have opened fire on young people .
Let this be a lesson to parents , nay , a warning , that you have to be careful in connection with what goes on at schools and never should you fall into the trap of thinking a certain place is safe simply because nothing has happened there yet . That wouldn't be realistic .
It would be a tad bit foolish to just assume under these very dangerous times that we live in . This last story is on a bit of a sad note . We want to wish you guys all a well road of recovery and connection with this grief and to express our heartfelt love for you , the families of this dear teacher and her unborn child . That has fallen in death .
Pregnant teacher unborn baby die after being found unresponsive inside elementary school going to Kendall , new York . A pregnant elementary school teacher in New York State was found unresponsive inside the school on Friday and later died at the hospital .
According to local reports , courtney Fanon , 29 , was found unresponsive inside Kendall Elementary School in Kendall , new York . Her unborn baby also died . The Kendall Central School District confirmed Fanon's death on its website , calling it an unexpected loss . Fanon was a special education teacher .
According to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle , fanon sent a text to her husband Friday afternoon and was packing up for the day and preparing to head home from school . The newspaper reported that just minutes after Fanon sent the text to her husband , she was found unresponsive in the school building .
Fanon was rushed to the hospital where she and her unborn daughter Hadley both died . Her family says Hadley was due in April . A cause of death has not been released . A family friend created a GoFundMe page to help raise money for the unexpected funeral .
According to the GoFundMe page , fanon married her husband , curtis Fanon , in 2022 , after 10 years of being together , and were expecting baby Hadley to arrive in four short weeks . The sadness attached to this story just hones in on the fact that sad truth , that life is indeed too short .
I can't imagine the pain that Mr Fanon is going through , both having lost his fiance , his wife excuse me and now his unborn child . You know . It kind of reminds me of when my uncle went through a similar trial . He lost his wife in 2013 . In a very similar way it was unexpected and he was home with her that night .
The grief and pain that we experience as humans , the things that we go through , they hurt in the very beginning , they are devastating to the heart , but they make us stronger each day . If we take that pain and we hold on to it and squeeze it as tight as we can , it can make us better people . But we're not alone .
