¶ Introducing the Red Podcast Logo
This is the Everyday Podcast for the Everyday People . Guys , welcome back to another episode of RED . It's the Everyday Podcast for the Everyday People and , as always , guys , I'm your host , rashawn Jr , bringing you all school news each and every single week , wrapped up in powerful methods to help you to cope with everyday life .
Now , most of you guys have tuned into the show and I'm so appreciative and so grateful for everything that you guys have done for me . I can't even begin to express how grateful I am that we were able to get this show up and running and that you guys had a nice , nice , healthy share in helping me bring RED to life .
Now , this episode is very special to me because it's the third episode , third episode of the fourth season , and there's been a need to make a change , and this change is going to affect our EDIers around the world . This change comes in connection with our logo .
Now , you guys will recall that when I first started the podcast , I wasn't really certain what direction I was going to go into , and then I thought , hey , why don't I make this podcast all about the things that happen in school from the crazy to the wacky , to the lame , to the cheesy to the corny and help people to cope To cope parents , principals ,
administrators , broken families , broken students , etc . To give them a podcast that would really give homage or recognition to the things that they go through each and every day , on a daily basis .
And the logo that I currently had in place it just didn't represent that powerful , zesty formula that makes this show unique and amazing from any other podcast that you've heard or listened to . And so , about two weeks ago , I hired a team of designers , I gave them the ideas , I gave them the concepts and I told them what I needed .
And after looking through at least 14 different displays of logos , color configurations , etc . Tonight at 8 o'clock pm , if you're following me on any social network platform , 8 o'clock pm , if you're following me on any social network platform , you'll be able to see that new logo that is going to be the face of RED moving forward .
So anytime you see that logo , whether it's high , near or far , please recognize that you have entered RED territory . But what does that involve ? Real content , truthful content and unbiased content . The sole purpose of my podcast is not to be selective in connection with how I deal or how we deal with political matters .
For example , some people have thoughts about members of the LGBTQ community . Others would like me to express my thoughts in connection with Trump versus Kamala .
As was stated before , red was not designed nor created to cause division , or rather , my podcast focuses on each individual human being so that each of us can be able to grow at our own pace and in our own capacities . So you'll find that my audience ranges from the oldest to the youngest , and around and around we go .
I'm not interested in connection with what group is doing one group is doing over the other group and vice versa , or which group may be better in that regard or the other regard and all the other things that people get involved in today .
That's not what RED is about , and so if you are interested in finding a podcaster that's going to feed some of those challenging circumstances , then that's not . This isn't the podcast for you . This is not the podcast for you .
But if you're interested in growing as a human being , if you're interested in reasoning on your feelings and emotions and seeing a different perspective of how things can be done in life , then this is the podcast for you , and so with a emphatic done in life , then this is the podcast for you , and so , with a emphatic , warm welcome , I say to you welcome to
the Everyday Podcast for the Everyday People
¶ The Impact of Cursing on Society
. Our theme selected for this particular episode finds itself on the verge of popularity . It really is a hot topic . Our theme that's been selected for this week's episode is cursing really that bad ? What would you say ? Is cursing a necessity ? Is cursing something that has to be done ? Is cursing something that will leave you feeling better about yourself ?
Notice what Christopher , whom is 17 years old , said in connection with cursing . I'm so used to hearing profanity that it doesn't phase me anymore . It seems normal . Here's what Rebecca , whom is 19 years old , adds . When I was younger , I cursed a lot . It was a very easy habit to pick up and a very difficult one to break .
So we're going to do a little fun activity for you listeners and those who are viewing this video on YouTube . We're going to do a little pop quiz . How are you affected when you hear others curse ? There are three things to consider . I don't even notice it . It sounds normal to me . I don't even notice it . It sounds normal to me .
It bothers me somewhat , but I just accept it . I find it offensive . I just can't get used to it . How often do you curse ? Never , occasionally or frequently . In your opinion , how important is the issue of foul language Trivial or serious ? Before listening to the rest of this podcast , pause , rewind and meditate on those questions .
A podcast is not anywhere near valuable to your life if you're not getting something from it . So what can you do in connection with those questions ? Be honest with yourself . If you want to know if cursing is a problem for you or how you view cursing , pause the audio , pause the video , go back , replay the questions and then answer them honestly .
I would love to hear what you guys have come up with in connection with these thoughts . Here's why it matters guys have come up with in connection with these thoughts . Here's why it matters . Do you view cursing as a serious matter ? Well , some might say not really . After all , there are bigger problems in the world to worry about , isn't it true ?
Besides , everybody curses . Is that really true , though ? Oftentimes , that is the response I get from my students on the school bus when I tell them to watch their mouth . Now , my school kids range from the ages of three to about 13 years old . You'll find that those who curse the most are the youngest ones .
Believe it or not , there are many people who refrain from using bad language and they know a few things that others don't know . Now , before we go into those things , I will say that many , many years ago I'm now 32 years old .
In my younger years , I did give way to some foul language and as I grew as an individual and started to apply certain principles in my life , I recognized that maybe it's time for me to make a little adjustment .
So , yes , at some point or another generally , because we cannot say all people curse , because we don't know every single person in existence , but it is wide ranged communication . It is something that people do often and regularly . Here's a thought Cursing isn't just about words . Your speech reveals what's going on inside you .
Using foul language , then , could indicate that you are insensitive to the feelings of others . Is that the kind of person you really are ? I know individuals who have a great deal of respect and connection with their employment , and in their personal life they use profanity , but on the job , they refrain from using such words . Well , why is that ?
Because they believe that by not cursing on the job in front of certain persons , they are adhering to a measure of respect , and that is partially true . Here is a principle to keep in mind Whatever comes out of the mouth comes from the heart .
So nine times out of 10 , the things that we are expressing on the outside , from our mouth verbally , are things that are going on inside within us . Profanity is verbal pollution . Why subject others or yourself to it ? Keep in mind that expression verbal pollution . Here's another point to keep in mind Cursing can cause others to think negatively of you .
The book Cuss Control says the way we speak can determine who our friends will be , the amount of respect we will get from our families and coworkers , the quality of our relationships , how influential we will be , whether we get the job or the promotion , and how strangers respond to us .
It also adds ask yourself if your relationships could , per chance , be even better if you didn't swear . Another principle that I find to be practical is to put away abusive speech . That I find to be practical is to put away abusive speech . Today , we live in an environment in which people are all too ready to utter negative and derogatory things .
When I go on TikTok live to be able to communicate with my followers and to update them about podcast ready information , I find that people will say derogatory things to me in connection with my weight , in connection with my race or even down to my ethnicity .
Well , despite the circumstances and despite how people respond or treat me , I find that when I respond in kind , it does go a long way . So you too might be able to benefit from that principle . Don't allow yourself to be stirred up by words that are foul . Try to spread goodness . Try to be above the negativity , and you never know how far you'll go .
Another point to keep in mind swearing doesn't make you sound as cool as you might think . In his book how Rude Alex Packer , dr Alex Packer states people who swear all the time are tiresome to listen to . He adds that a profanity-filled vocabulary doesn't allow for the expression of much insight , wit , intelligence or empathy .
If your speech is lazy , vague and unimaginative , your mind is sure to follow . Another principle to keep in mind let a rotten word not come out of your mouth . How vital it is that we get the proper perspective of cursing Young ones .
If you're in school and you're dealing with peer pressure , bullying and things of that caliber , or you find that your associates use derogatory language to express themselves , give it some thought . Oftentimes young ones make their mistake by not giving enough time , attention or meditation to potential dangers that could arise in their very future .
So it's imperative to do a self-examination . Ask yourself what is the benefit of cursing , and how do I see it affecting my life in 5 , 10 , 15 , or even 20 years down the road 10 , 15 , or even 20 years down the road ? Here's some practical help on what you can do .
If you've resolved to set a goal for yourself in connection with the fact that you want to address your speech , here's something that can help . Why not try to eliminate bad language in one month or less ? You could track your progress on a chart or calendar . To stick to your resolve , however , you may need to take further steps .
Here's one that's really important in connection with the steps you can take . We're going to consider two steps that will help you to be able to track your progress . Number one avoid entertainment that floods your brain with bad language . Oftentimes , when we think of associations , we focus on people .
My associates are people , but in most cases , people have failed to realize their association goes beyond human contact . In fact , inanimate things such as movies , music that all can be a form of association . It includes the movies you watch the video games you play and the music that you listen to . So keep in mind what you're feeding your mind .
Remember your brain can be like into a garden it can only grow the things that you plant there . So as you make adjustments in your personal life to reach out for that goal of not using foul language anymore , keep in mind how it's going to be vital to watch your associates . Here's another point that can help Show yourself to be mature .
Some people use profanity because they think it makes them sound like an adult . Really , the opposite is true . Mature people have made a resolve to distinguish their powers of discernment between what's right and what's wrong .
So don't lower your standards just to impress others , because that's not something that adults do , or mature adults in connection with the context of this discussion , mature ones who perceive what's right and wrong . Don't lower their standards to impress others . So what's the wrap up ? Bad language only pollutes the mind and the air with indecent thoughts .
There are too many of those in the world already . Don't add to the slop . Recommends that publication we referenced earlier Cust Control . Do your part to clean up the verbal environment . You will feel better about yourself and other people will feel better about you too . Did you guys catch those points in connection with our discussion ?
Cursing does matter , but just because it's the norm today , just because it's prevalent , does not mean that you have to succumb to it .
If you take steps to analyze what direction you would like to go in , it's a personal decision , but consider the points that we just discussed in our discussion and let me know , by means of the comment box or fan mail or any kind of communication , how you're responding and dealing with this discussion featured in this episode .
At this time we're going to transition into our lineup of stories for this week , and it was a heavy week of activity in the school environment .
I got to applaud you guys , because the things that you are enduring in school is noteworthy , and so we're going to do our best to cover these stories and be able to give you practical ways to cope with the things that are going on in the school environment , whether it be in the surrounding school in your town or city or state , or whether it be your
personal school and your personal friends . Here's our first story Three teens stabbed , fourth slashed outside new york city high school . Three teens were stabbed and a fourth was slashed outside a bronx high school .
On monday , just three days into the start of the new school year , the four teenage boys were assaulted outside herbert lehman high school on east tremont avenue just after 3.45 pm .
Police said A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the right shoulder , another 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the back , 15-year-old boy was stabbed in the right hand , another one and a 17-year-old boy was slashed in the right hand . According to cops , the four victims , who are all students at the high school , were taken to Jacoby Hospital in stable condition .
The alleged stabber is also believed to attend the school , though no arrests have been made . According to the NYPD . Police added that the assault did not occur on school grounds . It's unclear if police are searching for one suspect or multiple . The investigation is ongoing .
Separately , two other students were taken into custody on disorderly conduct charges For an unrelated fight . Nearby cops added Were you around this story when things started to develop ?
Well , if you were , keep in mind , guys , that rather than run to confrontation or be mesmerized by violence , some people see a fight in school and they're like I'm down , I'm ready to go . You can lose your life with such reasoning .
It's always better to be cautious and take a different route than to get involved with something and be killed as an innocent bystander . For the students who were victims of this stabbing , the team here at RED hopes that you guys have a well speedy recovery and that you're able to resume your day-to-day functions as swiftly and as soon as possible .

When a parent trusts the school system and this is something that someone brought to my attention they asked me do I want children ?
And I started to bring out the realities of the world that we live in today and the tragedies that parents are fighting for and dealing with every single day and coping with . It's very devastating when a parent sends their child to school and hopes that child will return , and they never do .

Check , make sure that you understand how your children are feeling emotionally and mentally . How are they faring in school ?
