Family Success Through Commitment

Speaker 1

this is the everyday podcast for the everyday people . Guys , we are back . Episode number six , another episode of red . It's the everyday podcast for the everyday people . How was your week ? We are here Thursday , october the 10th 2024 . It is a unique week . Well , why is that ?

Well , I guess I don't really have a good reason why this week is unique , other than the fact that I'm here for another episode . Week is unique other than the fact that I'm here for another episode . I really appreciated all of the responses that I've got back in connection with these episodes and just how things are continuing to grow .

Right now , we have reached a devastating standstill on YouTube . For some reason , the algorithm is putting every single YouTube short that I upload to zero Zero . So what's my determination ? Well , I'm not going to give up .

I'm not going to quit , because if I quit then I'll be leaving behind some loyal , loyal followers and supporters , and you guys mean so much more to me than that . You guys are so much more than just a number on my screen . This podcast deals with school news , and the entity or aspect of RED podcasting includes movie reviews .

But the reason that I approach you guys each and every week is because I genuinely care . I know what it's like to be in environments , just as well as everyone else , where things don't always go your way , or perhaps you don't always feel the best when it comes to people who are supposed to love and care for you .

So this podcast is going to be able to or hopefully has been to help you guys get through and past some of those emotions .

Sometimes you think a person is good in life and then all of a sudden they're derailed and life happens , and so it's like a weekly way of saying hey guys , you're still loved out there , we still care about you each and every single week .

In connection with this podcast , so in connection with what I just discussed with you guys , we are taking a little journey . For the next 12 episodes , we are going to discuss the secrets of family success , to discuss the secrets of family success .

Today , the world is bombarded with negativity , rudeness , injustice , and a lot of those things start right from the family environment . So I figured we'd take a journey and we'd be able to analyze 12 things that can help a family succeed during these darkened , wicked times that we all have to live in .

Each episode in connection with this topic will be one after the other . Our first topic in how to make family lifeful is for Couples . Wouldn't you agree that today a lot of people have kids without the proper preparation ? People think that they should have children simply because they can have kids , and that is an interesting way of viewing the gift of life .

And some people have success . They have kids without accurate preparation and then boom , it works out . But for some people for the majority it doesn't work out and as someone who works very closely in connection with young persons , that lack of working out can be devastating to a child .

So what is it that can help a couple as they get ready on this road to building a family Commitment ? That's the first secret of having a successful family Commitment , what it means .

Husbands and wives who are committed to their marriage view it as a permanent bond , and that creates a sense of security between them , so each spouse is confident that the other will honor the union even in difficult times . People today all too often have children outside of the marital arrangement . They reason why do I have to put a title on the relationship ?

There's nothing wrong with asking that question , but being open-minded to the answer might get you further than being closed-minded to the answer . In short , the wise course in connection with building a family between husband and wife in this particular scenario is that there is a sense of security .

There's a sense of security in a marital arrangement where , as when you're not married , you can just walk away , and some people have made that known to me , that they wished they would have taken their time and gotten married .

Gotten married versus just running off with someone in high school or just putting trust in a relationship where there was no basis for having trust in a particular relationship . Some couples oftentimes feel compelled to stay together because of social or family pressure . Far better , however , is a sense of commitment that is based on mutual love and respect .

Now , guys , this is going to be a difficult topic because today , love and respect are two of the number one things that are not displayed , and respect are two of the number one things that are not displayed . And if you don't believe me , try taking a drive on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey .

Just ride down at the normal speed limit and see as to how many middle fingers , disgusted looks and horn honks you will get in that time of your travel . So yes , because it's hard to experience love outside of the family arrangement . It's often hard to show it inside of the family arrangement . So what can you do ?

Notice what Micah says in connection with commitment . If you are committed to your marriage , you allow yourself to be wronged . You are quick to forgive and quick to apologize . You view problems as obstacles , not as deal breakers .

When people ask me and my wife what the success is in connection with our marriage and what we found , we really have to agree with Micah . It really falls down into the qualities that you bring into a marriage Not always insisting on your way , but looking to see what you can give and or offer your partner .

Here's why it matters when you're confronted with problems . Spouses without commitment are more likely to conclude we just weren't made for each other , and oftentimes they'll look for ways to get out of the marriage . Remember it , guys . Remember Divorce is not the solution for a failed marriage . Why ?

Because the same problems that you've had in connection with your first marriage , because the same problems that you've had in connection with your first marriage . The basis of those problems might be personality flaws that you need to work on . If you don't work on them , you'll take those same flaws into the next marriage .

So it's important to not be overly critical but to be reasonable and to work things out as best as you realistically can in minor issues , of course . Here's what you can do . We're going to do a little test . This is important because all of this helps students . When their parents have a solid foundation at home , students also thrive .

Test yourself when , in the middle of a dispute , do you find yourself regretting that you married your spouse ? Powerful question Do you daydream about being with someone else ? People will tell you that daydreaming is harmless . Not quite so .

The more you feed a desire , the more that desire will grow and the more you will yearn for and try to create opportunities to satisfy and fulfill that desire . So daydreaming is quite powerful . Do you say things such as I'm leaving you or I'm going to find someone who appreciates me ? That's important . That is important .

To ask these questions or to be in these scenarios is like taking a knife , walking behind your spouse and stabbing them in the back with it . It undermines the commitment that relationships need to thrive off of . So if you've answered yes to any one of those questions or need help hearing those questions again , pause the podcast .

Do not move past this podcast without consulting the answer to those questions . If you have answered yes to one or more of those questions , now is the time to strengthen your commitment , perhaps before it's too late . So discuss with your spouse . Has the level of commitment in our marriage decreased ? If so , why ?

What steps can we take now to strengthen our commitment ? Here are some tips . Write an occasional love note to your spouse . I think I might try that myself . Show your commitment by displaying photos of your spouse on your desk at work . Phone your spouse each day while you are at work or apart .

These principles , of course , are structured to an extent to married persons . However , the principles of love and respect can benefit all of those who are seeking a relationship .

Today , as we traverse through this series of discussions , you'll note that by the time we get to quality number 12 , discussions , you'll note that by the time we get to quality number 12 , you will have a full picture as to how each one of these qualities can simplify , beautify and strengthen your family arrangement .

It's vital because today , families are under attack , believe it or not . You see it in the media , you see it in the news , the propaganda that people are fed that the family arrangement is old fashioned , and yada , yada , yada . The list goes on .

However , the family arrangement does work and it does help students to cope with what they're going through in school . So consider these points that we discussed in connection with our topic Commitment . It's still a real thing , but it must be built on mutual love and respect for one another .

So apply these things in your marriage and in relationships as you see fit . You'll find that by applying these things , you will meet a measure of success . So , guys , that is going to be our theme discussion , broken down into 12 unique parts .

Please follow the podcast for the rest of the year so that you can be able to get each one of these qualities that can help strengthen the family arrangement .

Responding to Community Crisis

Now , of course , you tune into RED Podcasting because you want that gripping kind of news . You guys want what's out there and available . Don't be shy . Leave comments , rate the podcast , Leave fan mail , email us . Let us know how you are doing . Part of the podcast growing is the algorithm doing its part and blah , blah , blah .

But the other part is seeing how these stories are affecting you and how you are starting to discern the troubles and traumas and tragedies that people go through every day .

We talk on this podcast because we are for helping the everyday people to cope with any challenges that they're going through , and sometimes you just need a little bit of an outlet , a place that you can be able to express yourself , and what a wonderful thing it is to be able to do that . Our first story .

I was very , very appalled by this first story , so I'm going to try to deliver it to you guys as positively as possible . Biology teacher at mcmillian middle school resigned , reassigned after video shows him sniffing girls shorts . This is florida as our location . We we're in southwest Miami-Dade .

A Miami-Dade middle school teacher was reassigned after he was caught in a disturbing act that was recorded on video and has triggered an investigation . Posted on social media shows the unidentified teacher bending down in a classroom , pulling out an item from a backpack and taking a long whiff , not once , but three times .

Students and their family members who spoke with 7 News on Friday said the instructor in question teaches biology at Howard D McMillian Middle School in southwest Miami-Dade . Parents said the items that drew the teacher's attention was a female student's shorts .

Parents and students described the educator as a reserved man , adding that the school did not notify them of an incident with a professor , miami-dade County Public Schools has since released a statement . It reads in part Speaking in Spanish one parent said the school's actions have made her feel secure .

Speaking in Spanish one parent said the school's actions have made her feel secure , but others at McMillian Middle School said they want more done . When stories like this appear and we have been in this thing for almost two years there are a series of doubts , anxieties and concerns that any person would go through when they hear or see things like this .

Students , be proactive . When stories like this surface , try your best not to blame yourself . It's no one's fault . People act on urges and desires that they are hiding deep down within themselves for many , many years . Continue to be proactive and if you see something or know of any other incidences surrounding this circumstance , speak up about it .

Look for mature friends to express your emotions to and continue to cope one day at a time . It's very , very vital that you guys don't allow this to compound on top of everything else that you're going through . We are hoping that this is resolved quickly and swiftly .

This following story continues on our lineup Two men shot after argument over youth football game at Cardinal Ritter High School . Indianapolis is our location . Two men were shot following a dispute during a youth football game at Cardinal Ritter High School on Saturday night .

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to Cardinal Ritter High School on reports of multiple people shot just after 10 15 pm . Upon arrival , officers located two adult men who had been shot . Both were transported to Eskenazi Hospital , where one of the victims is in a stable condition and the other is in critical condition .

According to IMPD , an argument broke out on the sidelines at the end of a youth football game . As a result of the argument , someone pulled out a gun and shot the victims On one sideline . The Indy Firehawks a team WRTV has featured in the past one of their coaches , trevon Smith , taken to the hospital in critical condition after being shot in the stomach .

Today other coaches tell us he is stable . The shooting occurred outside of the stadium , not on the football field . No children were injured in the shooting . No arrests have been made related to this incident and IMPD says there is no person of interest yet .

So the thing about this particular story , right , the gun violence there is just a large presence of gun violence that's continuing to happen today and one of the things that some have suggested is that perhaps maybe they could include metal detectors at these football games to be able to prevent some of these things from happening .

It really boils down to people's mentality , though . If people are not proactive or want to make changes in connection with safety , then certain things are going to continue and in certain matters they'll continue to prevail . There is no way to really filter out all injustice and violence and crime as of yet , but taking steps to be proactive it really can't hurt .

So we're hoping that Mr Smith recovers well and that it doesn't cause any trauma to some of these individuals who were involved in this particular story . We're wishing you guys all of the best here from the RED team . This next story it reminded me of when I was in school and I had some friends that were less fortunate .

They didn't have the means to have what the average student would have . You know , book bags were very , very fair in price , clothing was just not name brand , and so to know that students have discerned there's a need in this particular school and that they're doing something about it , it really does bring a source of encouragement .

Dozens of students rely on food pantry at Pittsfield Middle School . We're now in Pittsfield , new Hampshire . Students at a New Hampshire school rely on an in-house food pantry that is run by students on an in-house food pantry that is run by students .

Around a fifth of students at Pittsfield Middle High School rely on the food pantry run by peers eager to give them a helping hand . The pantry started about 10 years ago as a project for the school's National Honor Society program . Since then , local organizations have collaborated with volunteers to help with inventory , providing everything from food to toiletries .

Edible items include easy-to-make meals like mac and cheese and canned goods . All year long . The facility , located near the cafeteria , stays locked with , stocked with donations and is run by honor society students . It opens up after an announcement made friday afternoon over the intercom invites anyone to line up and receive what they need .

In a building of about 270 students , around 50 of them receive the supplies provided for them . It's also a chance for younger kids coming from Pittsfield Middle School to look up to older grades doing good for their community . I will say that that is a breath of fresh air . I was impressed when this story came into my lineup for this week .

I was impressed because , during times where there's just so much bad news and there's just people constantly doing things that are just violent and aggressive and just coming at you one after another .

It can be hard to want to do anything good or anything positive , but these kids have it Like they have that goal and that drive and they're reaching their goals , and so I think that's pretty cool . Keep up the good work there , guys , and we wish you the best as you continue on in your journey .

Before we get into this next story , I personally I want to express to those who have been affected by Hurricane Helene and those who have been affected by Hurricane Milton , so sorry about the tragedies that you have been going through .

I've been following the news in some cases , and I've seen a lot of people that are just devastated because they couldn't flee or their home was destroyed and they have no hope of replacing their belongings . One of the things that comes to my mind personally was when we in New Jersey got Hurricane Sandy in 2012 .

In fact , here's a fun fact Hurricane Sandy's 12 years . Yeah , it's been 12 years . 2012 was when we had the hurricane and then now , 12 years later . So , yeah , hurricane Sandy's 12-year anniversary is coming up for new jersey , and so the emotions are still high for some who may have lost family members in sandy and property .

It was a terrible hurricane for us in jersey , but in florida the devastation is just catastrophic 1 million people were without electricity and then 180 people were killed , and I know that that's a heavy loss for family members because it's one of those things that you had no control over , and so we want to express our condolences here on the podcast for you guys

down there . This story is an update in connection with a school that faced some terrible , terrible devastation in connection with this hurricane disaster . Here's that story Hurricane Milton wreaks havoc on Murray Middle School in Port Salerno . Now we're in Stewart , florida , as our location .

A middle school in Port Salerno was severely impacted by the wrath of Hurricane Milton . The Martin County School District told CBS 12 News on Thursday that Murray Middle School was severely impacted by the storm . Now the photos they shared show damage to the band and the chorus room , as well as the roof of the agricultural building .

The school district stated that crews are currently there assessing the damage . I'm looking at these photos and I know that there's going to be some wise guys out there that's like , yeah , man , no school , we're out of here like tear this thing up . But the devastation in these photos is so much more significant than just you guys being out of school .

It really represents the devastation that a natural disaster can have on a community and how people lose individuals , family members , relatives etc . From these disasters . Well , if you have been affected by a natural disaster and if you are trying and striving to cope with the losses and the damages , keep perspective .

I know a lot of people focus on the material losses during a natural disaster and here's perspective to keep in mind . I know a lot of people get bent out of shape or upset when they lose things in a natural disaster . Seem like much , but at least you walked away with your life .

It's not one of those things where you're going to just be happy that you lost your stuff . It's not going to be that kind of perspective , but it does call into mind the things that each and every one of us has to go through each and every day , and sometimes we lose perspective as humans .

Sometimes we think that the things that are important are not and the things that are important are not . It's kind of like a role reversal kind of thing . So for now , rejoice in the fact that you guys were able to survive very difficult circumstances , very difficult disaster , but at the same time , keep in mind that it will get better .

Oftentimes you can see communities like rally together and support one another through these devastations , and so I'm hoping that that's the case down there in Florida as you guys try to rebuild , restructure and get your lives back on track . Very , very devastating circumstances surrounding the locals down there in Florida .

Now in our next story and I find this to be quite something over $10,000 in damage at Englewood Elementary from weekend break-in . Teachers arrived at Englewood Elementary School Monday morning to find posters ripped off , walls and some items stolen or damaged following a weekend break-in . The vandal did over $10,000 in damage to the school .

Salem-kaiser School District Spokeswoman Emily Raverman said as of Monday afternoon the extent of the theft and damage was still being cataloged . The school is located in north central Salem adjacent to Englewood Park . A school employee on Sunday found Englewood Elementary had been broken into and reported the break-in to police .

At 1 pm the employee reported hallways , classrooms and library were damaged . According to Salem Police Department Angela Hedrick the spokeswoman , graffiti was on walls and glass inside the school was shattered . Classes started two and a half hours late Monday at 10.20 am .

That was to give teachers time to inventory items in their classroom , report anything that had been stolen and clean up classrooms . The district and police department are working together to investigate the theft . Police have not identified a suspect . I never understood .

I never for a minute understood why a person would vandalize a school , a place of education , a learning institution . Like what kind of vendetta ? Well , actually , I guess that is a silly question . What kind of vendetta could someone have on a school ?

Perhaps there was bullying or some type of abuse that occurred , or some type of hate crime towards the administration there or even the principal ?

I guess there are a lot of reasons why someone would vandalize a school , but nevertheless , ten thousand dollars of damage sounds very personal , and so we're hoping that this doesn't hinder or strike fear into some of you students' hearts , because when you don't know why someone did something , that's when the scary part can arise .

Now , in this next story , we're now local . This is a local story that came upon my podcast and I said to myself I cannot believe these things still . They're just still rolling through . They're still rolling through and they're becoming more frequent . I think that's really the shocker for me .

When these things become more and more frequent , it's a lot more difficult to be able to cope with for some individuals . So this story is local , but it's a powerful story .

Now , just to break that down for you guys , there are stories that are on a local level , local level and a national level , and what that means is local stories only stay particularly within that community , may not even reach state news , but community news , and that's where the story kind of finds its domain or its place , where it's going to circulate .

And what I'll do is I'll come in to your backyard in a metaphoric sense , I'm not traveling to no one's backyard , that's not the case but I'll take that local story that may not be getting the attention that it needs and the individuals involved in the story may not be getting some positive comfort and feedback , and I'll put it on the show .

I'll have this story put directly on the show . And then there are stories that are just saturated with wide publicity and it's like like wow , that's really let me mold in a school . Okay , I get it , I get it , but what else can we shine our light on ? This particular episode ?

And this was a story that I thought needed to have some expressions in connection with its content .

School Safety

Teacher removed from la villa middle school after allegations of sexual conversations with students . Our location is jacksonville , florida . Now this story is local . A new district report reveals 19 teachers from duval county schools were removed from the classroom in just the last couple of months .

Since the Know the Line campaign launched , many teacher behavior reports have been filed , leading to some getting removed from the school campus . The most recent removal happened last week at the La Villa School of the Arts .

Yesterday Action News Jax obtained a new report revealing the number of teachers and employees removed from the classroom since the Know the Line campaign launched in late August . It allows people to report inappropriate behavior between students and teachers . So far , about 170 reports have been made and 19 teachers from 16 schools have been removed from the classrooms .

Among them is a health teacher from La Villa Middle . The data shows the teacher faces allegations of inappropriate communication with a student that was sexual in nature . The interesting thing that circulates with these stories is the frequency of these occasions . It's sad because it could be not this story . Because this story there's allegations they're investigating .

This is something coming to light Sometimes . Sometimes it's miscommunication between the student and the teacher . Teachers , you have to be careful how you communicate with your students .

It's imperative that you use safe words , as it were , and you refrain from joking around with your students , because when you play with them , you leave yourself open for these things to escalate .

Now again , we're not talking about cases where there are actual allegations , but we're more so focusing on those cases where it's a misunderstanding or the speech was not intended to be a certain way , or whatever the accidental realm of human communication can bring .

But for this school in particular , this health teacher that's being investigated this is very , very serious . For now the teacher is not in school with these kids and the Office of Professional Standards is investigating For students at La Villa Middle School of the Arts or La Villa School of the Arts .

I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through , especially those who didn't really know what this teacher may or may not have been capable of . Now , with this next story , right , like just level with me for a minute . It seems like it's minor in nature , like it seems like okay , why are we here ? Like what is this story ?

Follow me with the headline and then I'll break down to you why this story made it . Millbrook middle school teacher arrested for shoving student . We're now in Millbrook Alabama , sweet home , alabama . A Millbrook Middle School teacher has been arrested after shoving a student , according to the Millbrook Police Department .

Thursday Millbrook Police received a complaint from a parent of a Millbrook Middle School student about an altercation that happened between a 13-year-old student and a teacher .

The parent alleges that the two had a verbal fight before the teacher , identified as Austin Dorberth , 27 , of Millbrook , approached and physically shoved the student , causing him to drop his cell phone , and came out of his shoes . After filing a report , warrants were issued for Dorberth's arrest on charges of harassment and criminal mischief , third degree .

Dorberth surrendered himself to Millbrook police Friday , who placed him under arrest . He has since been released and on bond . Now , guys , just level with me for a minute . The photo literally says I mean the photo . The story literally says the student was pushed so hard the man's shoes fell off of his foot .

That's some hard shoving , and so for some of you guys , you may think , oh , how is this a cell ? The man's shoes flipped off . The only time I know someone's shoes to flip off is if they've been hit by a mobile vehicle . That's the only time I've seen or experienced or heard someone's shoes flipped off by contact with something .

So so , wow , this must have been quite a push from this teacher to this student . Well , as the student recovers , we hope that he's able to get back on his feet of course , no pun intended and be able to handle matters in school as effectively and quickly as possible .

Parents are upset in this next story because there is some crazy happenings happening at Coral Park Elementary . Cafeteria monitor removed from Coral Park Elementary amid abuse . Allegations against students were in Westchester , florida County .

Public Schools confirmed Friday that an employee at Coral Park Elementary School has been removed from the site pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation into allegations of verbal and emotional abuse of students during lunchtime .

At the center of the controversy is a new cafeteria monitor brought in by the school's principal , susana Suarez , who began her tenure this school year . Multiple parents have come forward accusing the monitor of mistreating students , particularly during lunchtime .

There is several complaints about the cafeteria monitor accusing her of not letting students go to the bathroom and taking trays away from children while they are still eating . In response to the growing unrest , del Rio met with school leadership and filed a formal police report accusing both the cafeteria monitor of abuse and Suarez of negligence .

The district has , as a result , reassured parents that the employer's removal in connection with this story was part of a thorough investigation . So a principal brings in someone from the outside to monitor these students , and parents are claiming that she was militant in dealing with the young ones .

My question is why didn't you just find someone from within Oftentimes companies , corporate environments , school environments the number one mistake that they make is going outside of the arrangement to find someone to fill a role inside . I'm pretty sure there were a lot more capable persons that can have handled the responsibility .

But let's be honest , guys , some people just aren't that great with children . We're hoping that they recover well and we're hoping that you parents can get some ease and rest at how this situation was handled in particular situation was handled in particular . This next story is gripping . It's chilling , but now it's affecting schools .

Tren de Aragua comes for the US kids Gang members accused of trying to recruit middle school students . In Texas , a Tren de Aragua gang member has been busted after allegedly trying to recruit middle school students , according to cops , and experts warned that it is a sign the brutal Venezuelan gang has already infiltrated American schools .

Jorgenis Robertson-Kova , 32 , who has multiple arrests for theft , since crossing the border illegally two years ago , is suspected of trying to make contact with students at Jane Long Academy and Las Americas in Houston .

Federal law enforcement sources told the post Cova , a Venezuelan migrant and confirmed member of Tren de Agua , wanted to train the kids for a large-scale shoplifting ring across the city . Authorities said he targeted the young teens because they face few consequences when they're caught .

Sources added , former US Marshal Robert Almonte told the Post that it's very likely that Tren de Aragua members have enrolled in American schools . Texas authorities nabbed Cova after learning he lived in the Houston area . Nabbed Kova after learning . He lived in the Houston area , was suspected of ties to Tren de Aragua and had a warrant for theft out of Pearland .

In July 2023 , cops in Houston arrested Kova for felony theft , but he was let go the next day after posting a $1,000 bond . In April of this year , kova was arrested for two separate theft incidents , including one in which he allegedly led a crew that included a child to shoplift $3,600 worth of perfumes from an Ulta beauty store in Arizona .

The charges were ultimately dropped . The next month , kova was arrested for shoplifting , but those charges were ultimately dropped . The next month , kova was arrested for shoplifting , but those charges were again dropped .

There's nothing further in connection with this story , but it does open the eyes of parents out there with children being aware it's going to protect your children more than you realize , and sometimes children will be naggy or upset or frustrated because of the rules that you put in place for them as a parent .

But now things are becoming more and more frightening every day . So be aware of your surroundings , guys . Make sure that you're not alone . Can't stress that enough enough . Enough . A lot of the times people walk . I'm growing , I'm big , I can handle it . If someone comes , I'm going to karate chop them .

But the reality is , in those moments , fear does take over and the very , very Jackie Chan-esque vibe that you thought you were going to put out is the very thing that can hinder you and put you in harm's way . So , guys , continue to remember to not be alone , check in with your parents and be mindful of your surroundings .

That's very important as you continue through this dark world surrounding the school environment . The following story continues to bring home some devastating points , very similar to points we discussed earlier Former Rogers Middle School teacher accused of nearly two dozen child sex crimes .

Our location is Rogers , arkansas , a Rogers Middle School teacher has been arrested and is accused of nearly two dozen child sex crimes .

Bradley Douglas Quillen , 29 , was booked into the Benton County Jail on October 9th for 17 counts of distributing , possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child , as well as four counts of engaging children in sexually explicit conduct for use in visual or print medium .

In visual or print medium , quillen was released the same day as his arrest on a $250,000 bond . An affidavit said that a detective with the Benton County Sheriff's Office had been contacted by a sheriff's office in Wisconsin about a case they were working .

The sheriff's office reported that in April there was at least one instance of a man from Arkansas messaging a child in Wisconsin , having conversations that were sexual in nature and exchanging pictures . Facing Challenges in Today's Schools

Powerful , powerful , powerful stories that are just surrounding young persons today More than ever . There is going to be a need for you guys to be vigilant , no matter what the circumstances , and we're not trying to paranoia you or scare you .

We're just trying to help you to be aware of your surroundings and what's involved in connection with these devastating stories . For those parents out there who are coping with some of the tragic things that happens when people abuse their free will , try not to blame yourselves . I know sometimes parents feel guilty . Parents can reason .

I wish I would have done more . I wish I didn't have to work as much . I wish I could pick my kid up from school . Whatever your circumstances , do not blame yourself . Try your best to make sure that you cope with the present circumstances as they are in a realistic way , and you will find success , drawing closer to your child throughout these hardships .

Now , one other particular thing that has come up a lot on this podcast and how students are still struggling and striving and trying their best , persevering at trying to cope , is bullying . Note our next story . Mom of bullied boy says middle school students shaved her son's head at school . I had to take a break .

I had to breathe to let that title fly out of the mouth , fly right out of the mouth . San Antonio is our location . It's been a whirlwind few days for Samantha Gover and her 12-year-old son , nathan .

What began with anger , tears and humiliation ended with a moment of profound gratitude as a young boy and his mother were left forever thankful for the kindness of a stranger . It all centers around Big C's Barbershop , a small but meaningful spot located off Gillette Boulevard on the southwest side of Antonio .

Nathan , a seventh grader at Sam Rayburn Middle School , recalled how a group of kids humiliated him At school . These students used clippers they had brought from home to give him a botched haircut , leaving the young boy embarrassed and devastated . After he agreed to their request in hopes of making friends with them .

Mom describes her son as a bright , kind student who simply wanted to make friends . He's a straight-A student she shared proudly . He's focused on school , loves choir and just wants to make friends . He's kind to everybody and I just feel like they targeted him .

After immediately filing a complaint with the school , samantha took to social media to voice her frustration . That's when a man named Edgar Rocha , owner of Big C's barbershop , stepped in . Edgar , moved by the story , offered to fix Nathan's haircut for free . Nathan's haircut for free .

Barry Perez , spokesperson for Northside Independent School District issued this statement regarding the haircut incident at Rayburn Middle School . Campus administrators are investigating have investigated an incident that involved a 7th grade male student at Rayburn Middle School whose hair was cut at school by two other students .

The 7th grader initially told administrators that he had provided consent for the haircut . Disciplinary action was taken on the two individuals who brought the clippers to school and who engaged in this behavior while on campus . So that story was just a mouthful of dynamic to digest . It's better to play it safe , not attacking this kid .

I think it's commendable that he wanted to make friends , and when you're young and you want to make friends , you're going to try to level with your peers . But in this particular case it was just one of those things that doesn't usually happen . When you put yourself out there Like , people don't generally try to go out of their way to bring harm to you .

Of course , in this world today it happens , but in this case I see the young man giving people the benefit of the doubt . But in this case I see the young man giving people the benefit of the doubt , so he used his reasoning . He used his reasoning as best as he could , but in this case it didn't work out . Well , what can you learn from the story ?

Doesn't mean to give up on people . Some people take one bad experience and they just run off with it , and I'm done . Don't be like that , because living like that will only cause you harm in the future , hoping that this well it was resolved .

So I think that that in itself shows that , by him putting himself out there , sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't , but it's nice to know that the owner of the barber was willing to help him when it came to the circumstance . Beautiful , just beautiful , outcome to a very difficult story that began . Now our final story for the evening .

There's a lot of what should we do regarding new age children ? What policies should we put in place in school ? So many things that are just coming into people's minds . Southern Vermont community voices concern over school pledge policy . We're now in Bennington , vermont , to close out our show .

An emotional meeting in Bennington on Tuesday night when the Southwestern Southwestern Vermont Union Elementary School District Board heard public comment over an alleged ban on the Pledge of Allegiance at Shaftesbury Elementary School . They discussed the alleged ban with the school board . Social media posts have blown up recently alleging the pledge was banned at the Shaftesbury Elementary School . However , the board had left it up to the individual school principals to decide whether or not to ban the pledge or not to ban the pledge .

No action was taken by members of the board Tuesday , but they say they'll discuss the next steps at next month's meetings .

Promoting Love and Respect

There's a lot of opinions . There's a lot of dynamic coming out during these times . In these cases , the kids matter , anything that a parent does . They have to focus on the fact that their children matter . They have to be involved in the emotional growth and the emotional effect and effect certain choices and things that they do are going to have on their kids .

In this case , this is going to be one of them . This is going to be a moment in which a kid will look back and say , hey , my mom or my dad was personally involved . We're hoping that these matters can be addressed in a way that everyone can come to a beneficial and healthy response so as to not allow anyone to get hurt .

Sometimes these things escalate and people resort to violence to solve their problems . Keep a cool head , be calm and respect . Respect goes a long way in being able to handle such matters . Well , guys , that was our show for this week , episode number six trying to help people to cope with things the best way possible .

It's not about who's right or wrong , not to quote Michael Jackson . It's not about that . It's about respecting one another . We don't always have to agree on everything . As humans , I have my beliefs , I have my stance in life , I have what works for me and my household , my stance in life . I have what works for me and my household .

But who am I to tell someone else that's not going to work for you ? Based on my own opinion of circumstances , it's important that we all try our best to respect one another . When respect is lost , that's when things escalate to violence . Do you remember our theme in connection with episode number six of the fourth season violent ?
