BAND LEADER | DRUMMER | VOCALIST - This week our guest is TONY JONES. Tony was raised in a musical family. His father (Rick) was a drummer and songwriter and his grandfather (Leon Rene) was a prominent songwriter and record label creator in Los Angeles and was responsible for discovering Nat King Cole. His grandfather penned such songs as: "Rock-in’ Robin," "When the Swallows Come Back to Capistrano" and "When It’s Sleepytime Down South." Tony Jones has performed with: Milton Berle, Fred Travalena, Danny Gans, The Drifters, The Coasters, Billy Preston, Patty Andrews and others. He is well known for his vocal impersonations of: Louis Armstrong, Elvis Presley, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles. Tony is the creator of an extremely successful and well-known party band in Los Angeles called "The Hodads." The Hodads have been together since 1989 and have appeared with: Kool & The Gang, The Beach Boys, The Smothers Brothers, Tony Danza, The Surfaris, Jim Belushi, Steve Vai, Steven Bishop, Bob Saget, Louie Anderson, Jerry Lewis, Casey Kasem, Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, Lily Tomlin, and played in the movie, "The Replacement's." With so many looks and musical styles, they have delivered their unique range of party music to almost every type of party and are known as "the ultimate party band."
