FILM DIRECTOR | DISABILITY ACTIVIST - Dominick Evans is a Film Director and Activist in the disability and LGBT communities. A trans-man with a neuro-muscular disability known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy, he was the first person with a severe physical disability to make it through the award winning BFA Film program at Wright State University. Dominick's latest film project "Inamorata" is a period piece set in the 1960's that explores the relationship of a same-sex female couple and the trials and tribulations they endure. Mr. Evans often explores topics and features characters with voices not otherwise heard in mainstream Hollywood. For his activism work, Dominick was invited to the White House for the first forum on LGBT issues. He also started a regular Twitter chat, known as #FilmDis, which discusses both representation of people with disabilities in media (film/TV predominantly) and depictions of disability in media. INTERVIEW QUESTIONS INCLUDE: Is there a Talent Agency or Talent Management company that specializes in representing or managing physically challenged Actors, Directors, Producers, etc? If an Actor, Producer, Director is physically challenged, what can they do to increase their chances of getting hired for projects?
