Episode description

GRAMMY WINNER | SINGER | SONGWRITER - Our guest this week is MATT ALBER. Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, Matt Alber, grew up singing in choirs. Matt learned how to make something beautiful with his friends on stages around the world. Like an athlete, he watched himself get better at something his body and mind were making together and eventually got his degree in music. He moved to California to join the classical men's ensemble "Chanticleer" with whom he recorded two Grammy® Award-winning albums. "Hide Nothing" is Matt's first album of original songs. The record was co-produced with a trusted visionary, Jeff Crerie at "Utmosis" in San Francisco. When he's not touring or recording, Matt also directs a choir of his own in Los Angeles called "Forever Young." The audition is fairly simple -- if you're 60 years or older, sing with heart, and can bring something to the potluck, you're in. Most of the members are gay or lesbian and lead incredible lives which prompted his current project which is a reality-based television show about his experiences. DISCUSSION TOPICS: You can have a very successful career in music after choir. Characteristics you have to have to become a great singer and performer.
