¶ Discussion on Robert Garcia’s Bill
What do you know about Robert Garcia? He's trying to protect us. Is he? He's trying to get his name in the paper. Gay congressman Robert Garcia has reintroduced a bill that would require the U.S. State Department to defend LGBTQ plus rights around the world. So it's a bill he's just going to introduce. Yeah. It doesn't mean that it's going to get passed. It doesn't mean it's going to get passed. But also, like, why are you so worried about international people?
Like, there's shit happening here. Like, there's transphobia here. There's homophobia here. Like, how many trans women have died this year? I don't know. I just, things like that bother me because it's like, your shit isn't even clear here in the house, in your house, and you're going to go somewhere else and clean it. Somewhere else in focus. Yeah. Because I don't even think the introduction of that bill is going to get far.
But I think it's just to keep, just like how Nino said his name in the papers. Yeah. You know what I mean?
¶ Local Activism and Politician Clout
I kind of feel like that's how he is, right? I mean, I don't know her. I mean, that's politician 101 anyway. You know what I'm saying? Well, when she first got to Congress, the first thing she did was start a feud with Marjorie Taylor Greene. Oh, yeah. And that's going to get you clout or get you noticed because she's always on the paper. Yeah. And then I actually seen him this weekend. He was actually in Long Beach this weekend doing small business Sunday and Saturday, small business weekend.
So he was up and down, walking down Second Street with his team, shopping. So you've seen Tim in the flesh? Yep. Out in the wild? You can talk to him? No, I was enjoying my drink and my lunch. Yeah. I don't know, things like this feel very lip service rather than doing anything. And also it gives me a vibe of a potential reason to.
Be more imperialistic right because now you can be like I mean I need to defend the gays over in this country because they're being treated terribly so let me go invade this place yeah that's kind of like weird like let me tell you how your culture that already hates gays needs to act I guess well our culture hates gays right like fix your own shit first yeah, That's what you said, right? Fix your own shit. I mean, I guess it's good girl,
but is it really going to help? Is it really going to do anything? Is it going to pass? Because it said a second time, right? Yeah. So that's why I'm kind of like, are you just making, are you just trying to make waves?
¶ Hate Crimes and Community Responses
Beto, I don't know her. Did you see that the fucking executive suites got their shit bashed in and like their. No. Yeah. What you mean, like the front door? Yeah, I think so. Like the, like the glass was all broken. There's like a picture. Oh no. But you can go and donate to their GoFundMe, GoFundMe.GoFund.me slash Robert-Bowl-02December or D-E-C to donate, to donate to the executive suites because they got their door bashed in.
Donate, y'all. also did y'all hear about like the the democrats and the right groups accused trump justice department of ignoring hate crimes see this is what robert garcia should be fucking working on instead of worrying about introducing a new goddamn bill right the community relations service staff has been reduced to one person the removal so it's just basically in the article continues to talk about all of the different things
that were mentioned of how crs helped those marginalized communities like the salma the lgbtq plus shooting 9-11 and just the importance of it it just don't make no sense because if you're given because they always claimed at the beginning that they were trying to get away agencies of, you know, that's misusing funds. Right? Nothing that the CRS provides, meditation and mediation and conflict resolution, where's the misuse of funds?
So what's the reasoning for you? You're getting away for this just because you know you can be up in that motherfucker.
¶ Funding Cuts and Their Impacts
So we have all this extra money from this tariffs, yet we're so poor we can't afford any of these programs anymore? See, I don't even think, I mean... They just don't want to fund it. No, I know. Yeah. This doesn't make sense. I mean, it don't. It literally makes no sense. But we out here still. I mean, they literally want to gut everything. So that means like when something even worse is going to happen because bad things always happen. There's still there's going to be no future response.
Yeah. I mean, this fits with the Project 2025, right? Like you're targeting what this is doing is targeting marginalized groups, you know, because if you look all the the the events that they were a part of salma pulse 9-11 right like all these things are focused on minority groups who have already limited resources and who impact of a traumatic event is going to be even harder for them so i think it's just part of their plan of making poc people more miserable yeah that's basically what it is,
like you're just limiting resources but i think this is also another opportunity where people need to realize the intersectionality of like oppression like all oppression is interconnected selma like all those things were different groups and so this is going to impact everyone so i think everyone needs to be aware and acknowledge that we're all we should all work together towards creating change towards calling people out towards supporting each other because Because
they're just going to pick us off one at a time and make us enemies of each other. So that way they can control things a lot more efficiently.
¶ Queer Protests at the Border
I don't know. Don't know what else to say. Did you guys see at the border that it was like a bunch of gay people were like making out to protest? I did hear that. What were they protesting? But I guess they had a kiss in. But I don't know what would the... Yeah, it doesn't really say, like, what the impact was. A bunch of gay people making. Well, I think it normalizes it, right? And I think it also has opportunity to,
like, show that HIV is not, like, a death sentence. That you live while having this chronic illness. And I think it normalizes queer people and queer love. Because I think we always get tied as being, like, hypersexual. And that HIV is only for gay people, but we all know that's not reality. I'm just confused why they chose the border, which is like, I feel like, shouldn't you just literally be protesting ICE? I mean, I... I feel like you could have made out for World AIDS Day anywhere.
Yes. But I guess it was a two for one. Right. You know what I'm saying? They're like, we know you're also homophobic, so... Right. Yeah, we're just gonna cover both our faces. You know this is gonna just bother you? Yeah. I mean, go you if you were there. I just don't... I just didn't see. But I guess it's also good because even in our own community, it's still...
¶ Stigmas Around HIV and Queer Identity
How what's the word i'm looking for stigmatized stigmatized like you know i'm saying it's still gay people who feel like just interaction with the person who may be diagnosed is.
A sentence just like you said yeah but it's like motherfucker it's it's too much knowledge and too many protection opportunities at the at your fingertips for you to still be thinking like that yeah but unfortunately that shit ain't in the schools no more so it's not being taught, it's not being informed so it's just like shucks shucks i don't know why the fuck i say shucks shucks i love it new catchphrase right now that i'm kind of
like how i just said like why would you why would you bother making out in front of ice it's kind of like so i'm looking at another, post and it says bar the host hetero awesomeness month which is a homophobic thing is now offering free beer to anyone who helps ice so i guess they homophobes and ice i guess they do go yeah they go in hand in hand i take back what i said about you guys making out okay.
Heterosexual awesomeness month wow y'all chose that name like that was the best that was the The best. Awesomeness. Word girl. Ham. Ham. Ham. Okay. That's crazy. An Idaho bar that made headlines in recent years for its heterosexual awesomeness celebrations is in the news once again. This time for offering free beers to patrons who help immigration and customs enforcement. Is that what ICE says? Yeah. Anyone who helps ICE identify and ultimately deport an illegal from Idaho gets
free beer for one month at Old State Saloon. Wow. You can't say that fucking Natty ICE? Like, what the fuck is he talking about?
Like lame but then how do you prove it like exactly do you like bring do you take a photo right do you bring your immigrant to the bar and then call ICE right there like how do you prove yeah he's gone yeah so give me my beer you remember Jose gone yeah you know what gays y'all should go right y'all should go up there and get y'all free beer for a month where the fuck turn that bitch into a gay bar wow that's ridiculous yeah that makes no fucking sense see that's why, fucking jesus that is
why yeah but i think in addition to that protest too if the article there's an article that's saying that funding cuts could cause 3.3 million additional hiv infections by 2030 yeah you know so i think that protest paired with like this statistic in this article is important you know and i think it highlights the impact of these cuts have Mm-hmm. So stupid. Yeah. Let me read that also. From the advocate, funding cuts could cause 3.3 million additional HIV infections by 2030.
¶ Oklahoma University Controversy
HIV preventions around the world have suffered their most significant setback in decades due to funding cuts. A new report from UNAID, UNAID, whatever they are, has found. Yeah, we need to not do that. Yeah. And listen, y'all, like, if you cut funding for HIV, everyone's going to be impacted. This is not just a queer disease, you know? I think we've talked about in the past that the rates of new infections are predominantly more heterosexual people. So this is going to impact everyone.
That's so fucking insane. And we never got the USAID back. Never. Never, never. Yeah. But I think also, like, going back to the link between the protests and this statistic is the idea of, like, the most marginalized of the marginalized is going to be more heavily impacted, right? So immigrants who come in from Mexico to the U.S., if they get HIV, like, they're not going to be able to get care. Like, California has already cut care for people who are not citizens.
So you leave people untreated. And then what are they going to do? They're not gonna stop having sex you know like you're just gonna like provide an environment in which this can spread more yeah where it's just worse yeah. Thanks, government. Make America fucking worse. The worse you possibly can. Make it worse or... Make it more worse. Ugh. Oh, did y'all hear about that? Oklahoma University instructor suspended for failing students' unscientific anti-trans psychology essay.
Yeah, I've seen that. Wild. That's crazy. So according to the advocate, the University of Oklahoma has placed a trans graduate instructor on administrative leave after a student received a zero on a psychology assignment that described transgender people as demonic and asserted that gender roles are biblically ordained, the dispute has quickly escalated into a statewide political flashpoint.
The controversy began when a junior, Samantha Flucknucky, I put a little extra funky in that motherfucker. That's why she's miserable. Having a name like that? Exactly. Samantha Flucknucky. submitted a 650-word reaction paper for a course on how social expectations shape gender.
Instead of addressing the assignment's questions using data, her essay claims society is pushing lies about gender, warned that eliminating stricter gender roles would be harmful and describe the transgender identities as demonic. Screenshots of the essay and the structure's comments were posted by the campus chapter of Turning Point USA on Thanksgiving. Right wing media network quickly boosted it.
Graduate teaching assistant Mel Kurtz, who graded the paper, wrote that the zero was based on academic criteria, not reality, not retaliation for the students religious views. Kurth wrote that the essay does not answer the questions for this assignment, contradicts itself, heavily uses personal ideology over empirical evidence in a scientific class, and is at times offensive.
Kurth also noted that portraying a marginalized group as demonic is highly offensive and urged the student to use empirical sources rather than doctrinal statements when critiquing coarse material. A second instructor, Megan Wharton, independently reviewed the paper and agreed that it did not satisfy the assignment prompt or basic academic writing expectations. So this bitch, Flanucki, then filed a religious discrimination complaint with the university.
OU confirmed Sunday in a new public statement that it takes seriously concerning involving First Amendment rights, certainly including religious freedoms. First of all these universities and these motherfucking kids these days follow the fucking assignment follow the fucking assignment do it correctly, cite your sources motherfuckers want to use chat GPT all the goddamn time that ain't motherfucking what the assignment told you to do.
So now these motherfuckers, the university, said it, immediately began a full review after receiving the student's complaint, maintained regular communication with the student, and ensured no academic harm resulted from the disputed grade. OU also said the student filed a discrimination claim based on religious belief that the review process has been activated and that the graduate instructor. Was placed on administrative leave to ensure fairness.
¶ Academic Integrity and Religious Claims
A full-time professor is now teaching the course for the rest of the semester or you said the instructor would not if excuse me would not face academic or financial harm during the review on sunday oklahoma republic governor governor kevin stitt urged ou board of regents to investigate and warned that students should not be penalized for their religious beliefs in a social media post where's the religious belief coming in there you didn't even cite the bible bitch what the
fuck is you talking about you didn't even cite the goddamn bible they're demonic so what you're nowhere in the motherfucking bible did it say that but they're demonic so what you're telling me is that a tenant of your religion is being hateful like that's what they're really trying to defend because that they're trying to go this oh my religion's being like persecuted or whatever but like that's not the thing we're just saying that you're being transphobic but now you're subsuming
that under your religion as that that is a core belief and not even we're just saying you didn't even follow the prompt she didn't understand the assignment didn't even answer the fucking question wow exactly you didn't even so like see and that's what i'm talking about like these motherfuckers these days they they need a stern warning and this shit is stupid like i'll bet you she's. Her religious beliefs on paper. Okay. How's your religious beliefs on campus? Right. Huh?
How's that? So the paper was supposed to be like, how do societal impacts impact your gender or some shit? Yeah. How does society shape gender? Straight people, when they hear gender, they don't even think about themselves anymore. It's like she couldn't even think about just men and women. No one said anything about trans. Yeah. exploded into transphobia because you're so triggered from the word gender. Yeah, but then she was also talking about gender stereotypes, right?
Right, or like if they continue to dismantle the gender norms, society will be harmed. Will be collapsed. Oh my god, you're ridiculous. Child, so what the fuck do you mean? You got 38 years old, so I'm not a motherfucker, do they own goddamn laundry. Shut the fuck up. Girl, do you like to vote? Do you like to work?
Right. Do you like to be in school? like back in the day you wouldn't be able to do any of that you think you could write that paper gender norms change and shift get used to it sis but also like, If you're demonic, that's not society shaping you. That's the demon shaping you. That is the demon shaping you for sure. So you're still wrong. Wrong. You're saying demons are shaping, not society. Yeah. And this is for a psychology course.
If you're thinking about being a therapist, girl, don't. Don't do this. We don't need you. We don't need your beliefs. Like, no, you're going to cause more harm than anything. Stay in Oklahoma. Go have your kids. Do you. There's no need for you to spread your influence anywhere. It's also kind of like whoever is in charge of suspending people. It's like you couldn't just hear exactly what the teacher said and be like, oh, yeah, that's not religious discrimination. Right.
What the fuck? Like you felt you don't even. These papers have rubrics. These people have rubrics that they get scored on. I don't know what I don't understand what college students think that professors are just coming up and making up their own shit. They have shit to abide by. Also, like you're going to school, bitch. You're learning from me. this isn't you teaching this class the fuck like I'm gonna go you already know.
Shout out to all the professors out there having to deal with these individuals who are thinking that the world revolves around them I feel like people also think that there's this like, Just because there are two sides, like they're both, they can both be correct at the same time. And we just haven't figured out why the shitty person is correct. Like the why the racist is correct or why the transphobe is correct. They all think that they're just correct in their own way.
And they just think like, well, I don't even know how to explain it. No, because I think it's like, well, this is my perspective and this is my view. And this is because I think when you offload that on religion, then you automatically think you get protection.
And is like well that's what i believe and what i believe is valid and my perspective is valid and i think that is true for some things but when you're thinking when i think you're talking about people and the rights and how you choose to treat them like there's no ifs ands or buts about that like homophobia is homophobia transphobia is transphobia racism is racism and none of that it's okay yeah you can't just be like well these are my beliefs yeah they're protected no i believe it well
so the fuck what yeah right that i'm not you you ain't doing a paper on your beliefs.
You're doing a paper that's cited sourced like who the fuck cares what you believe bitch yeah and you should know that what you're believing is hate and you still are still trying to be like but i'm good even though i'm hating people yeah and they always i don't know they always want to just make it seem like it's tribalism and it's a natural form of like we we hate the other and it's like that's normal right and it's like that's not normal bitch I I want to take back,
Because I'm just saying, she's a 20-year-old, so she may not even know no better.
¶ Media Representation of Queer Stories
I bet you this was probably her parents who's paying for her college tuition. And she told them that zero. They probably pumped her ass up in the head to do this. What state was this? Oklahoma. So ain't no telling what kind of small town she from in that area or wherever she's from.
So she probably her parents probably asked her ass to do this bullshit maybe because if you had, you didn't even follow the fucking assignment like how do you yeah also how do you get a teacher suspended for giving you an f right yeah i've gotten a d i remember getting a d on a paper that i made the subject it was the subject and i still got a bad grade i didn't even say shit like i was I was like, oh, I failed. Because you knew better. Yeah, I was like, the fuck?
Because usually when you write a paper and shit, you go back, make sure that you hit the points of the major essay question to make sure you hit them bang, bang, bang. Like, if you ask me, like, the paper is on why the world is round and you're like, well, I'm a flat earther and this is my belief, and you start, girl, that's not what the fucking paper is. That's not right. Yeah. My paper was about geology. Anyways. Wow. What else we got? Is that it? Is that anything else?
I did notice, I don't know if you guys ever heard of, damn, I fucking lost it. But he was, he worked with Andy Warhol and Madonna. Basquiat? Is it? The artist? Who? It's formerly known as Prince. I fucking had his name that quick. It's something like Uda Kier. How did he work with them? I lost it. So he basically like helped Madonna. And so basically like he was a, this is from what I remember. And I can't even, I done lost the motherfucker that quick. However, he, he's from Germany.
Originally, he moved to the U S after World War II, after the hospital he was in bombed, was bombed. And then like he started, he was like, almost like, I don't know what kind of fucking artist he was. That's why I was trying to fucking find it again.
Oh he was an actor oh i didn't know that was him oh okay this person yeah udo kier yeah so he was a german actor but he so because he was in some of andy warhol's films and short stuff and then he was also worked with madonna on some of her like books or something that she did back in the day yeah so he actually just passed away and he was in like he lived in palm spring so i wanted to i don't know if you
guys knew him or seen because i know you a movie buff you know i actually don't know who he is yeah. But after you, so some of the movies he was in was like Swan Song, which was recently back in 2021. He was in Flesh for Frankenstein and Blood for Dracula. These is all like 70 movies. Back in the day, he did a cameo in like Ace Ventura, Pet Detective. What? He did a lot of cameos. And like he was in Blade, Armageddon. So, R.I.P. to Yudokia. R.I.P. Any other last gay thoughts?
¶ Reviews of Recent Queer Media
Seen anything gay? What's gay? Oh, I saw Wicked this weekend. Oh, what'd you think? I actually wasn't upset by it, because I didn't give a fuck about the first one. And I was forced to watch the first one. Yeah, you was forced to see the second one. But everybody else did not care for it. But I was like the only one who didn't give a fuck. I was like, oh, it's fine. Because I was so uninvested that I was like well this is better than dog shit I guess was it better than the first one?
In my opinion it was but I wasn't really paying attention to the first one see I haven't seen either one so I don't really but all the gays are screaming at me right now because they all are like that was shit she does wear a hideous weird sweater for no reason and she fucks the hot gay guy I was not expecting a sex scene she's living her best fruit fly life, That guy's hot.
What's his name? Jonathan Bailey. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I hate how, like... I hate how there's Bowen Yang and then there's Jonathan Bailey. And then it's like Bowen Yang is the gay representation we're supposed to like see ourselves in as like this. Like he's like plays like this kind of you know who he is. I know who they are. I don't know what they're playing. He just plays like a side like a side role of like basically. So would you would you prefer that they roles were reversed?
If the straight person was acting more flamboyant. Yeah, I would have liked straight. Is he straight? He plays a straight person. Oh, okay. Because he has sex with the witch. Oh, my God. Spoilers. But, yeah, he's straight in the movie. In the movie, right. That's what I'm saying. So, would you rather have Bo do his part and he did the sidekick? I would have liked that better, actually. Yeah. See, that shows, what is that? Range.
Mm-hmm. Because I was just thinking about, like, because there was in the first Wicked movie, they also had like a like an actively visual gay person that you can see but it's like they just do all these like.
Annoying things that like make the gay person like stand out to be gay like the bow and yang character was like kind of effeminate and bitchy just like kind of bitchy and i'm just like why do you need to why is that the gay representation we get when the real gay person is also jonathan bailey and he gets to be but as a straight person he is so you just so not even so you just talk about like the character development period okay i'm with the people who are writing these scripts right yeah they
don't know i i saw a queer movie and like the premise was this guy who's obsessed with like go-go dancer and so he pretends to be a documentary filmmaker and goes to this guy and be like i want to make a documentary about you and you know they fall in love blah blah blah blah blah and then the other guy finds out or he like clocked it but he still went along with it but this this the main character who's lying about it like his main premise is very interesting because he's like
i just want to be normal i just want to fit in so it's very like white male try to fit into heterosexual world even though you're gay so he falls in love with this guy and then they have a really cute relationship but then he decides to go back to like fucking iowa because he wants to be normal and have a normal life but that was a so which one went back to iowa the The one that lied. The documentary motherfucker. Yeah, the white conservative.
Now, the go-go dancer, what kind of person was that? He was a much better character and a much better person. But, like, was he also a cis white male? He was a Swiss white male, yeah. What's it called? I have to look for the name. But it was very interesting to kind of see that, like. Emphasis on wanting to blend in and fit in and have like a quote-unquote normal life from a queer character. So it makes me wonder like who wrote it. Right. Like this is normal. This straight heteronormativity.
And that's what I want. Yeah. That's what it gave. Nice. I think I've seen, it was a show called Wayward. Oh, I think I've heard of that one. Did y'all hear, did y'all see about it or heard about it? I've heard of it. I've never seen it. But they also have a non-binary lead character, which is the character development didn't play that person as a forward thinking, use your common sense type of thinker.
But also they didn't give us the background in regards of where things was coming from, from a mental standpoint, in regards of like why they made the decisions for what they did. But it was actually a good film because that was a part of it and then like. Not to give too much away, the other main characters were, it gave almost like this homoerotic type of friendship. Like one of the girls could have maybe liked the best friend, but the best friend was really like a true friend.
So if you do get a time to watch Wayward, it was a good. Where's she on? Netflix? That could be true. Yes, I think so. Netflix.
¶ Closing Thoughts and Farewell
2B has a lot of queer film yeah they do I actually like 2B to look at some old school now those are some of the movies I used to see when I was you know in the closet and still you can find on YouTube, but they have a great LGBTQ plus catalog on 2B and 2B is free, 2B is free well any other gay last thoughts you know what y'all I think my thirst is pretty much quenched on this tea, no more thirst y'all, well alright well you heard the queens from all of us here at the queer LBC
