Content Warning

Hey y'all, this podcast contains potentially disturbing content. Our show includes graphic references to topics such as sexual abuse, self-harm, violence, eating disorders, explicit language, and sexual acts. Listener discretion is advised. This show is for mature audiences only. Good morning and welcome back to another episode of the Queer LBC Podcast. I'm your host, Nino. My pronouns are he, him. Thank you for asking. I have with me here. Here, my fabulous cohors.

Yo, it's me, Kristoff, your city top liaison. My pronouns are he, him, and that, motherfucker. Dr. Mikey here, your local licensed and practicing therapist for entertainment purposes only. My pronouns are he, she, all of them. So, what's the tea, sis? The tea is... Today in gay. Former Long Beach mayor, Robert Garcia... Do. Calls out J.D. Vance, the vice president pick for Trump. Also in gay, South Korea's Supreme Court upholds landmark ruling on gay couple spouse status.

Today in homophobia, federal appeals court dismisses lawsuit over Tennessee's anti-drag show ban. Also in homophobia, John Deere to abandon Pride Festival sponsorships following online right-wing pressure campaign. Today in trans, California is now the first state to ban policies requiring teachers to out-trans students.

Students today in transphobia elon musk says x will leave california because of a new law that protects trans kids today in what the fuck apparently the 2024 republican national convention is basically grinders super bowl also in what the fuck trump shot and also what the fuck joe biden drops out today in yas today in yas a seventh person has likely been cured of hiv following stem cell transplant. Yum. Do any of you queens know about any of these things? I did not.

But I also didn't know John Deere. Had any sponsorship and like what the fuck they abandoning right so in a statement posted on his x account the nearly 200 year old industrial and farming equipment manufacturer said it would no longer participate in or support external social or cultural awareness parades festivals or events it also added the existence of diversity quotas and pronouns identification have never been and are not company policy.

However, the company said it is not abandoning diversity efforts entirely. The Tractor Supply announced last month that it had eliminated its diversity, equity, and inclusion roles. And goes backwards of that whole fucking statement. So, Deerhead began facing criticism from all my right-wing circles. And this is from NBC News.

So, they're basically trying to get away from all social and cultural parades, events and everything so we should not see a john deere or attractive supply on not a motherfucking parade regardless if it's lgbtq the motherfucking kkk clan the motherfucking parade the motherfucker in addition you you know i'm saying because literally that's what you're saying so lgbtq pride parade shouldn't even been mentioned you should just kept it as we are

not going to affiliate ourselves with any parade, any fucking. Event, social, cultural, anything. I don't care if it's your grandma's fucking peach cobbler fucking festival. We're not going to be involved. So that's why I feel like, The media is just always trying to put shit on LGBTQ plus I. In reality, these companies are just trying to fear away from everything because everybody is complaining. Ain't nobody safe, left, right or center.

So, yeah. But he also contradicted himself in his own fucking statement.

Statements i think but i think it's interesting like this them saying they're eliminating participation in cultural events and then also highlight that like pronouns are not part of their company policy i think you know that feels like trickily pointed i think that's probably why people are reading into a lot of like focusing on gay people so yeah like you don't think that john you're gonna be at the oc fair i mean that's interesting also

it says following right wing wing pressure campaign obviously right like all these john deere i mean you know i'll be gazing fucking texas is wearing john deere and fucking going i mean they don't care they still gonna go fucking the john deere and fucking get they shit so it's like that's probably almost like the same mentality of just like i don't care if you in my parade i'm still gonna have to go to fucking and John Deere and get my shit to fucking farm and make my living you know what

I mean so it's just like why even is this a fucking article.

Elon Musk’s Headquarters Move

Okay y'all if you see a John Deere tractor at pride take a pic throw it over, throw it on it's right side I mean maybe they did sponsor like in the Midwest you know oh yeah I don't know much in the Midwest and the South yeah, Let's see. Elon Musk says X will leave California because of a new law that protects trans kids. By Samantha Rydell from them. Billionaire Elon Musk says he will relocate the headquarters of X, formerly Twitter, and SpaceX.

And SpaceX from California to Texas, blaming a new California law that bans forcibly outing transgender students to their families. On Monday, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the Support Academic Future and Educators for Today's Youth Act, Safety Act, into law establishing that teachers shall not be required to disclose trans students expressed gender identity without their consent.

The following day, Musk wrote on X that the law was the final straw and that, because of this law and many others that preceded it, he would be moving SpaceX's headquarters to Brownsville, Texas. The current state of Musk's Starbase industrial complex, while X would move to Austin. In follow-up posts over the ensuing 24 hours, Musk alleged that the Safety Act constituted massive destruction of parental rights and would put children at risk for permanent damage.

Musk, a notorious anti-trans propaganda enjoyer who has said that he would ban the word cisgender as a slur on X, has committed to spending $45 million per month on a new super PAC supporting former President Donald Trump, according to the Wall Street Journal. Musk has blamed his daughter's progressive school, which he accuses of incubating the woke mind virus, for his estrangement of his own adult child who came out as trans and cut ties with her father last year. After he was transphobic.

The woke mind virus is going to get you too. But Musk's move away from Silicon Valley has been years in the making and may have more to do with tax and labor laws than the billionaire's personal politics. Tesla has repeatedly been accused of illegally blocking unionization of its facilities along with other labor law violations in Florida and California.

As Market Watch columnist Therese Pelletti wrote on Tuesday, Musk sees California as too expensive, too litigious, and too friendly to employees and their rights. Oh my god. Obvi. Too friendly. Making his mass relocation to Texas anything but abrupt. Surprised he didn't just go to fucking Florida. Newsom hit back at Musk's comments with his own post on Exxon Tuesday, casting the billionaire as a mere Trump crony who bent the knee to the former president.

Really? state senator scott weiner a democrat called musk's announcement absolutely despicable in a statement to cbs news on tuesday the idea that a billionaire could come along and say how dare you pass a civil rights law i'm going to move my company that's not democracy that's oligarchy weiner's ned bitch we've been in an oligarchy wake up we're not shocked.

Thoughts first of all this man is so ridiculous because you cannot tell me for one that he's been trying to get out of california to stop paying taxes first of all and to move to texas is what everybody's trying to do because one they don't have state taxes everything is a little bit cheaper i went there like what almost the beginning of the year gas was like three dollars.

Damn of course and then you gonna try to blame it on this law that just was passed like a month ago trying to look like right like dude get stop playing these games bro because it's ridiculous i think hate is like the people who love him they believe that shit though they're like oh you know he just oh my god he's the smartest man in the world but you mean to tell me the smartest motherfucking man who got fucking spaceships this any other don't do research on what your child is fucking doing

get the fuck up out of here with that dude like you are supposed to be the smartest man of america you got teslas you got rockets you got companies and business all over the place but you gonna not research what your child is doing so that okay but you can't fool me, that's fucked up like imagine being like that being your dad and then they're like my son is dead right and it's like bitch well your son is dead because i'm a she now for one and for two well they

don't even she don't even talk to this man no more which i don't fucking blame her because you're using me to get people to keep talking about your punk ass you're playing.

Deleting Twitter Together

Mind games and it's with your own fucking child but you're using it within the media so people can continue to talk about your ass yeah and the more raggedy ass trucks you got out here oh my god those trucks are so whack so fucking disgusting bitch i know people who buy trucks they don't buy cyber trucks they buy fucking giant ford ugly shits are those the ones that look like tanks yeah oh those are his yeah oh but like you know i'm all for people who want to like like want to protest with their

money so like if he doesn't want to be california then like obviously we don't need him you know like we're like what the third largest economy in the world and we're a state you know i think we'll be fine without him but i think like he's just using this for clout right to kind of like pander to his you know his his following but fact check you doctor let me see California it's been a while but I think we should do the same thing too right like we shouldn't be supporting like Twitter you

know if he thinks like this and we want to be allies like that's how we can advocate and we can if we're not on it then he's not making money, Damn, bitch. We're fifth largest economy in the world. Dang. Well, do you guys want to be woke and delete Twitter right now? You want the virus? Let's not do it together right now. I want the virus. Delete. The woke mind virus. Oh, you deleted it? I don't even really use it to tell you the truth.

All right, let me delete it right now. I'm going to delete it. I use the gay tool for my porn. All right, I'm removing it, bitch. You didn't really have that much anyways. Goodbye, delete. Delete X. You too, listener. An act of solidarity, listener. Vote with your dollar that you don't pay for this app anyways. But delete right now. We're all going to give you one moment and you're all going to delete Twitter or X, whatever you want to call it. All right, everybody. One.

Everybody's you, listener. One. Two. Three. Delete Twitter. delete you're pressing delete button delete X alright we're all deleted it together in one big go that should do something you're like what fucking happened on Tuesday motherfucker.

Republican National Convention Revelations

For another app that I really don't use y'all hear about how apparently the 2024 Republican National Convention was basically Grindr Superbowl yeah what the fuck like fucking crash or something them is that terrible time of the year when Republicans gather to select their nominee, spew homophobic and transphobic vitriol, and apparently see who's on the grid. Of course, we're talking about the Republican National Convention. This is from Curity News.

Gay Congressman George Santos was willing to back up. When I say it, people think I'm being And an asshole, Santos wrote in response before diving into more detail in a video caption, come out the closet, boys. The hand emojis like the clap emojis and the clip Santos explained that he's openly gay. No qualms about it. Not even about those drag pics, Mr. Santos. And there's a proud conservative Republican who met his own husband on Grindr.

Let me tell you something. Just come out the closet, boys, he said. Come on, it's fun. You can be gay and conservative. Grindr's already out in you anyways, based on the hits. And guess who's in town? It's all you conservative. Leave it to George to fail for a clickbait. That being said, there's definitely some truth to the joke. Grinder activity was 166 percent higher than normal at a famous famously anti-gay parties in 2016 convention.

And if there was any doubt, home where is busiest users, the word visiting was apparently the second most used word among the profiles Grindr analyzed for the study.

So i just feel like all of this was like they have a lot of different like tweets that they're going through but nothing really seems to be like really evidence evidence based yeah like i mean george if like you had like an actual roster of names and photos that you like saw the dick pics of these actual guys right like i get it you see a bunch of like blank profiles with like no head.

But that don't mean anything bitch you're not saying anything yeah and you ruined your credibility, right like you should have what you should have done george is if you were really about that fucking scam life you should have fucking got a fake profile pic yourself bitch and you should have fucking been like this is me i'm a hot young twink and then you should have got all the fucking profile pics all those guys

they had one video i don't know if y'all seen it through that little the X exchange, but there was a video of a guy claiming that opening grinder at the RNC. But one, it says, I don't even know if it was true or not because one, his age is 19 and he's like, look like it shows like he's at like a convention. We don't know whether he could have been out of somebody concert. This could have been like, it would don't look like it was there. You know what I'm saying?

But I don't think I can push it now since I closed deleted X. So I can't even watch it. But, so yeah, that was on the article. But yeah, that shit was pretty hilarious when I read about it or heard about it over the weekend, over the week. I mean, if that's true... Like, what does it do? Nothing, right? Because then, I mean, there's just going to be straight people pushing anti-gay laws. So, I mean, gay people in doing it or straight people doing it, they're going to be doing it.

Impact of Homophobia

And then for you to just, like, I guess out people is weird. Yeah, it's not good. I mean, it definitely shows that, like, how harmful, like, homophobia is that it keeps people in the closet, you know?

And then now we see, like, like this internalized homophobia being reflected and impacting like real life gay people who are just trying to live their lives you know right and they're so fucking what is it internalized that now they're fucking literally working their lives to fucking prevent gay people from living yeah and i still don't think like this is gay people's problem i still think this is straight people's problem to solve right to solve homophobia

yeah because i feel like this argument's always be like, oh, they must be gay if. They're homophobic, right? But I don't think so. I think you can be straight and want to have sex with men, right? I mean... I think the world could be much more fluid than the way it's running now. That is most definitely fucking true. But I mean, there could just be like...

Bisexual men who just aren't coming out as bisexual just closeted that's true and still fucking around because i mean if anything that's what it is right they're fucking two genders and bisexual i guess they just don't admit to it so then it becomes like this because society society puts that pressure on them because then they were like oh like leave the motherfuckers alone anybody got your dick sucked right just don't just don't vote poorly the seventh person has

most likely been cured of hiv following stem cell transplants go for it german man is reportedly the seventh person in history to be cured of hiv according to researchers who will present the information at the 24 international aids conference in munich germany multiple tests given to the german man were unable to detect any copies of the virus in his body following a stem cell transplant from acute myeloid leukemia that occurred in 2015 according to the report

on in nbc news very interesting you and magic johnson magic johnson i don't know because i think we talked about this not too long ago he still had i think he just hasn't I think he still testis and still has HIV, right? I don't think he was cured. It says maybe. Let's see. Maybe, possibly, kind of, sort of. Adjacent? You're cured adjacent. Definitely undetectable? Right. It says that he was unable to detect any copies of the virus. So undetectable, like, do you still have it in your system?

In your system i think you have it at such a low count count that it's considered, yeah but the fact for him to like be off of medication since 2018 and to be in remission and not having a spike in his levels like um you know that's pretty like that sounds like a cure right you know like to be off medication you know right definitely have to well that's true True, to be off the medication and still be able to not detect any signs of it. Yeah. Yeah, okay. Yeah, which is cool.

I wonder, like, are they doing this in, like, studies to see how stem cells are useful? Let's see. Seems like only in Germany. Let's see. What is this stem cell business about? I'm all, like, giving, like, blatant misinformation. Duh, that's what the internet is for. Don't do stem cell work. Where do you get stem cells? I feel like they come from your spot. From Northgate Market. Northgate Market.

Stem cells are a special type of cell that can self-renew and differentiate into other types of cells. They are found in almost all tissues of the body, including bone marrow, brain, blood vessels, skin, and heart. California is now the first state to ban policies requiring teachers to out-trans students by James Factorra from them.

After several school districts in California enacted policies last year that required school personnel to out-trans students to their parents, the state just became the first in the nation to pass a law that explicitly prohibits such policies. Did I already read this? Well, it's basically the same shit from Mulan. From the Mulan.

For a motherfucking what's that motherfucker Elon cause half of that shit was him moving it's because of this shit oh yeah so we you know what I'm saying so it was just like going around in circles, in addition to banning schools from implementing oh duh exactly yes, yes in addition to but I already knew that wasn't gonna fucking happen in California like come on man bitch, so suck on that the state has to teach you to love your fucking children don't tell

us how to love our children shut up anyways we'll go you gavin i think gavin should run for president i'm there i feel like they've been pushing him i feel like he needs to step it up because everybody already donated all their dumb ass money to kamala, Or a Buttigieg. No one's gonna fucking vote for that. Bitch. Anybody? Would you guys actually vote for Buttigieg? No. Swamp rat. Swamp rat? Former Long Beach mayor, now representative Robert Garcia on J.D. Vance, who is the VP pick for Trump.

Trump he said there couldn't be a more irresponsible prick pick oh oh pick oh prick, but the same the same potato potato oh my i love how this article starts gay democratic republican representative robert garcia was among those to criticize donald trump's choice of vice presidential running mate yesterday y'all want to know about vance's stance against trump do we care his stance against trump maybe he has a very interesting relationship oh he's like formerly against him right yeah so let's

see so in 2006 fans tweeted i'm a never trump guy i never liked him in the same year he wrote privately to an associate on facebook i go back and forth between thinking trump is a cynical asshole or that he's america's hitler i mean you can be both and so by your own statements you are a hypocrite right idiot and a money hungry politician right.

You know and but back to the article i feel like robert garcia just latching on to climb politically like i feel that the minute he got into his dc role he like went after marjorie taylor green because like she's just very low-hanging fruit you know like yeah it's someone that you know that you can bait and you can get into a dialogue with and people are watching that person too so i feel he's just like picking these people to like just advance himself i mean i can see that,

be like just name dropping basically so you can make like a twitter headline yeah like this article to get known exactly but yeah i don't know i've never been a fan of garcia what else has he done to make you hate him i mean he allowed kiss being cages at the at the convention center are here yeah yeah why would you allow that right and then he was he was mayor during the blm.

Uprisings and like i was at the protest and i was like he was not handled that very well he decided to protect the buildings and everything else and just like let the cops do whatever they want that's crazy like you know these buildings have fucking insurance right my girl calm down That's what they were protecting. Like, literally, they got all the supplies from the Grand Prix and, like, bordered up downtown before anything went down.

Because they were seeing all the cities around people protesting. Well, bitch, it didn't help you very much.

Quick Tea on Robert Garcia

Well, Robert Garcia, we see you. I think, is that it for quick tea? I am no longer thirsty. Yeah, I'm pretty satisfied. Except for, let me just like pick your brain real quick. So Trump got shot. Is that real or fake? Fake. Yeah. First of all, I didn't even know nothing was happening. I was minding my good old weekend business and I was just out in these streets. And everybody, I was at a party and it was like, oh my God, like Trump got shot.

And I was like, okay, people just over here talking crazy, you know, because I was in Orange County.

So and then they was like no he got shot and i was like what that's and even before i knew anything i was like that sounds like that's full of shit like and then then it was like he's still like they missed i was like of course they did because it was planned it was staged and that was before i knew anything i just felt it so i just knew that shit was staged and when i started listening to what was going on, you get shot in the ear, you're at a rally, and like none of this makes sense.

So I know like your security detail canvassed the area days and months in advance. So like this seems like, okay. And for you to get shot with a, I think they said what, an AR-15? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what kind of gun it was, but damn it, and it only picked your ear? like yo it should be off so i immediately knew and felt that it was fake.

The Alleged Trump Shooting

And I love how they're saying, like, he just moved the slightest bit and it saved his life. Like, he's some sort of superhero. Girl, this guy in my fucking class, he fucking says, that's how you know God is real. Because it missed him. And he's like, I bet everybody who saw that is like a believer. And I'm like, what the fuck, bitch? That's your takeaway? You really believe that God exists because Trump missed.

Media Sensationalism vs. Book Reading

Missed i say that's what people were saying that's why i believe god it does not exist because he fucking didn't get fucking killed that's what the rebuttal to that is that like god kept him alive so he can get beat by a black woman i hope so what a start to oh my god and then he fucking the rest of his life just after kamala oh but i think it's staged i think it like he's just taking reagan's playbook book you just copying reagan like there was an attempt and then his

numbers shot up right his slogan that's a reagan slogan i mean he was in reality tv we all must remember that too right he know how to get numbers he's been doing this since the 80s y'all i mean definitely does feel like in like the past like what is it like two weeks like they're both sides have been ramping it up right yeah with like their production i saw like hula already had a documentary about trump's assassination i was like dang i'm so sick of media attempt, let's go back to books.

Enter yourself with some entertain yourself with some words and then i was like it was funny because they told us because me and dr mikey were at the same location at a pool party we were at my dad's, and we were splashing in the pool chatting yeah we're splashing the pool and all of a sudden my, sister's my sister's boyfriend's nephew comes up to me he's like trump got shot and we all just are like what and we're all like none of us care and then we're

also like but he did he died though yeah and he's like no and then we're like okay goodbye start conversing and you're like stop bothering me like next goodbye it definitely did not cause a stir in me and it definitely immediately made me it didn't even phase me like you said like the first thing i thought was like oh that's like a very cheap production like yeah you did not get killed your ear was grazed, goodbye and you get to take a a great like iconic picture regardless of how

much i hate him that That was a great picture. Yeah, I mean, definitely he was right. We all had him on the back pedal with that 20-25 shit. And then he was like, fuck. And then they had to just amp it up and be like, okay, now we got to get back on the offense. But in all honesty, really? Do you think that that's a reaction of somebody who almost that killed him? No, it's not. Right. So mentally, that is no reaction.

Well, granted, I don't know how many times that man had his life attempted to be killed or murdered or assassinated. I know he had a lot of ill will dealings back in the day. So I don't know if he's not afraid of death. But it's like you have an active shooter scenario and the photographer is still snapping pics. It seemed like everybody was in on it, to tell you the truth.

Because if anybody hear a gunshot, it's mayhem. but it seemed like everybody was like oh what's that well maybe they're so used to guns right no but like when i heard it it sounded like bb guns exactly it didn't even sound it didn't sound like much nothing it sounded like a truck backfire right but but yeah i agree like no one reacted like no one from this the stands didn't clear like everyone was just kind of just chilling oh what is that i want

to see the fucking video that the fucking lady who was taking the video behind him had but there's that video of the lady she's like recording as it's all going down she's like behind trump i'm like i want to see that video has not surfaced i think yeah they gotta edit it the fuck video was and then biden drops out yeah i feel like that was like why did i only feel like the news media made that happen because like all i saw was like everyone's calling

for biden to drop out and it's like whenever the people want that to happen it never happens like we've been calling for him to do a lot of fucking things and he never fucking did any of that yeah i don't know well i think the dnc is a company it is an organization that is making money off of this so i think they saw their money dwindling or their money going to be impacted by this i think that's why i mean you're right because they i guess you know they're going to

to say have the last word the dnc is going to have the last word yeah so i don't know who's.

Over the dnc because i don't know if it's like the the top of house and the senate but, well on the law body is on that motherfucking board i don't know but on a lawsuit like dnc said that we're a private company and we're not beholden to people's votes we can't decide side on who they candidate is yeah they put forth yes they they have the they decide on who they want to have represent the company yeah and people don't realize that shit we, we're basically living at a fucking store.

Customer service is horrible. That's also true. They need to go to customer service one-on-one. Like, fuck. Oh, I want a refund. First world ain't what it used to be. Right? What happens to the customer is always right. Nope. Not no more. The man said it's right. So, we got to go with it. Well. Break time? Break time. All right.

Album Review Introduction

And we're back. So today we're going to go easy on you listeners. Today is another album review. We're going to be reviewing Chapel Roan's new album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. And to join us in discussion, we have a local Long Beach musician, Chelo Azul, with us here in the studio today. Welcome, Chelo Azul. What's up, Long Beach?

Initial Impressions of Chapel Roan’s Album

Hello to long beach and long beach only so okay so she mentions long beach in the song casual thoughts i didn't well you didn't hear that part no i'm about to do like a couple of i think it was the time she came over and tried to collab with me and i said nah not today sis no i'm kidding girl bye no i'm kidding cello so would love to collaborate with you we love you chapel chaperone did did you guys listen to the album i seen the album like being like

shoved down my throat on spotify for like forever and then i was just like shut up shut up shut up i don't want to click on it i don't care but i keep seeing like all these like places on instagram being like, chaperone all the gays love chaperone chaperone and i was like i don't care i don't care i don't And then I was like, oh, I've actually heard this one song for, like, a couple weeks already, and I just didn't know it was her. And it was the Hot To Go song.

And I was like, oh, I've actually been listening to this song for a while, and I didn't even realize I liked it. But I liked that song, and that was the first song that I heard from her. And I was like, this is fun. It reminds me of, like, 80s and, like... Kind of like indie music from like the 2000s. And she was just like fun sounding. I didn't realize. I thought it just came out. I did not realize it came out in September.

Oh, of last year? Yeah. Oh my God. It says, now that's what they say it was released on September 22nd, 2023. I'm like, oh, I thought this just came out. I thought so too. I guess we're here to talk about this. I mean, TikTok, you know, TikTok could bring you out of nowhere. Maybe. I guess so. Well, she also opened up for Olivia Rodrigo, who's doing a world tour. And Olivia Rodrigo is a pretty big pop, rock, punk artist right now. I like Olivia Rodrigo. Me too. So yeah, she opened for her.

That's a good fit. That's a good fit for a show. I like Chapel Roan. She's fun. I think, honestly, that Chapel Roan is the Taylor Swift that America needs right now. I feel like when I first started listening to it, I was like, oh, this is really pretty. This is very light. I think sonically, it gives Taylor Swift something like that. But also sonically, you can hear Regina Spector. You can hear Alanis Morissette. You can hear this poppy bubblegum sound in her voice. It's so cute and beautiful.

But then when you listen to the context of the song, like the choices, And then it gets very Alanis Morissette, very like, you know, it sucks to be you. Right. You know, like you miss this, this fucking train. Train's gone. Good luck. Not really, though. But good luck. Good luck. Not really. When I heard it, I was just like, it's almost like that. Like it's very soft. So I was not in the space to like be soft per se, but I then went to YouTube and started looking at the videos.

So visually, like I like her art. And then when I seen her singing, when doing her videos, like I, I understood it.

You know i'm saying so like when i first heard it i was like ah you know this what they found out from america got talent you know like she 15 she sounded like you know she sound like a you know like a young woman a young child like you know not i'm talking about like like 16 or 17 like vocally right yeah you know something but when i seen the art behind her work that's That's when I was like, oh, okay, I can fuck with you. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.

Did y'all look at any of the videos? I didn't look at any of the videos. I mostly just listened to music. I can't just be looking at a video like I'm listening to music while I'm doing something. Oh, okay. And so I've just been listening. And I feel like some songs were not the vibe. And I guess why I never really ran into Chapel Rowan until Nino mentioned it. And I was like, okay. I've never really heard of this artist. And then once I started listening,

I was like, okay. I can see why I wouldn't have heard of it, because that's not my genre. Yes, it's not my usual vibe. Yeah, it's not the genre that I'm going to listen to. But I'm always wondering, like, man, why is everyone so obsessed with Taylor Swift? Like, in the gay world, like, us as gays. Like, why is everyone so obsessed with Taylor Swift, like, that sound? When, you know, like, Chaparron is, like, part of our community and is creating, to me, better bangers.

Yeah. I mean, like. Yeah, I agree. pink pony club yeah i'm gonna keep on dancing at the pink pony club pink yeah that's funny i love that because i felt like yeah that's definitely not something that you would listen to yeah but i like it it made me very bubbly poppy that makes me want to wear like a little tiny tutu and run outside made you feel like a twink like a twink like right you know twink during pride yeah because Because I also assume that's not your kind of music.

It's not. So that's why I was like, you know, I was going to give it a chance regardless. But once I, just like I said, I would have not really been able to hear it. And even at some of the bars I go to, gay bars, I don't think I heard it. Then again, sometimes I'll just be so, nope, they would have played this. This is a banger. The Pink Pony Club is my favorite. I probably heard it and I probably just paid attention to the Pink Pony Club. So I just assumed that it was like you know.

Like a banger but i was like i know who sang sung it but yeah but i think what really got me to like really really like chaperone was the the good luck babe like that i was like okay good now she's writing like from for reals she's like you know like jesse reyes says it like she she means it, chaperone means what she's saying but she's putting it in a pink pretty bow right because i fuck with jesse yeah yes so i get the same vibes of like okay

and i can hear the story you know Because it happens so many times in the queer world when you fall in love with someone that is testing the waters with queerness. You know what I mean? That DL guy or the DL girl or the one who's switching between boyfriends. And then, you know what I mean? Yeah. I never heard this, so I'm intrigued. And so I feel like for her, she's singing this song of like. You're going to remember me and you're going to be meeting face-to-face with

what she's saying with I Told You So. That was great writing, by the way. I feel like I struggle as a lyricist, and so I am very impressed by Chapel Roan's lyric writing. Very poetic. What was your first thoughts, Doctor? I actually came across Chapel Roan on my YouTube feed. So the first song I ever heard from her was Kink Is My Karma, which I really liked. Lyrically, I really like Bible lyrics, which Chen Lozu was saying is the lyrics

are very Jesse Ray, it's very Alanis Morissette. but like it's a lot more like passive-aggressive.

It's like i don't want to hurt your feelings yeah right but like i'm gonna drop it up pretty so you get it but it makes me look nice you know i mean that's not passive-aggressive but anyway but so like i liked i liked it lyrically and then aesthetically i like i was like this is very campy it's very drag like i also came across like her npr tiny desk too okay and like it's very like it's white makeup white face big red hair like she looks like very

much like almost like the sisters of petrol yeah yeah that's almost kind of vibe she gave yeah yeah so she's very representative and i love sad girl music so like my favorite song was coffee it was one we can't need for coffee because like we're just gonna end up like fucking again and then we're gonna start up the cycle so like i there was just some like like lyrically yeah so like i like the sad girl songs. And even though I heard her before, like, I listened to Geeks of My Karma and

I'm like, oh, that's cool. And I kind of just went on. But I think also, like, the 80s synth is not really, like, something I listen to typically, you know? So I think...

Way i listened to it as i opened up spotify and i was reading the lyrics as i was listening to it so i think that like i have a like a bigger connection with her as a songwriter than like maybe as her sonic sound that's cool i also well the first time i physically seen her was on a youtube but it was when she was on what's that boy named jaylen not jimmy fallon jimmy fallon when she has that weird outfit yeah so that right there was already giving me sister to a perpetual indulgence right

indulgence yeah i was usually just say the sisters i think that's the first time i seen her too so i was like oh i was like i can okay so i started listening to her and just the way she conversed with old dude was hilarious so he was like yeah like i don't know if y'all seen it but he was like oh yeah like i googled you today and she stopped him real quick It was like, oh, so you didn't know who I was. And he started laughing and they had like a great banter with each other.

So it looked like she has a great head on her shoulders. I mean, you know, it could be, you know, PR, you know, marketing. But, you know, still nonetheless, I got a good vibe visually from her. It's funny. When I first saw her, I was like off put by her look. And I was like, ugh. I was like, get away from me. I was like, you're too much right now. Was it because it was too much or do you think she was just like gay, trying to draw gay people in?

No, I just thought it was just like, I was like, whatever song you're singing, I know it doesn't match your look. So I was like, I don't even want to hear it. And then I didn't, like, I really, I don't know why, because I felt like I was, I was being forced.

Her down my throat like because i keep seeing her name everywhere everywhere everywhere and i'm just like i don't care like what other people want me to listen to so i don't want to listen to it so then finally i don't even know what how i figured it out but i don't know i just listened to it and then yeah the album was like pretty intense i feel like it's she's really good at like drawing out like emotion and she like can switch it up really quickly too from like really really

sad and melancholy to be like hype to a quick little bump up yeah which is really like crazy and i think my favorite songs were the red wine supernova song oh that's a good one i like that one and then the ultra modern super whatever the fuck super ultra modern graphic girl or whatever it is oh i like that one too feminine oh phenomenon oh i like that that's gonna probably be camel on camel is uh please don't i think the brat or you ruin that the bread yeah they they ruin what is it they

ruin the charlie x oh brad cx yeah i thought you said about the rap of the bread no i had to break it in this super graphic ultra modern girl that's yeah that's a good um I love how to go, yeah that one is like a fun one and then I liked what else did I like I liked kaleidoscope even though it was a sad girl song. Like the lyrically it was like really pretty. Guilty Pleasure was also fun. Let's see. But yeah, she's a good songwriter. These are my notes. She's a good songwriter. Ultra moody.

Emotional Impact of Chapel Roan’s Music

Yeah, but all the sad songs are so sad that I have to skip through them. Uh-oh. Did I get too much for you? Yeah, I was like, this is like fucking up my vibe way too much. I feel like she would make me cry. See, and I felt like when I heard it, I heard it the first, well, I heard it sober.

Sober so i didn't i wasn't drinking or like under the influence of like smoking a joint or some shit but i feel like this it gave me the vibe that like this is something that you want to like put on a damn light get in the closet smoke a joint just look at if you got stars or something i don't know just you know just listen to this shit and just you know cry no i definitely cried to a couple of songs i've i cried to the pink pony club song

and then i cried to the karma song too oh my kink is karma yeah i'm like oh my god that one's really good yeah pink pony club does kind of like reach out to like you know talking when she's talking to her mom and it's kind of like sad yeah i know that was kind of like almost like at a pull that's her strings and shit but just saying like mama i'm just dancing it's like a pony club oh my god that song is stuck in my head i'm singing it all the time but it looked like most of these songs that was

some of the songs that's on there she wrote like almost like two or four years ago oh wow that's cool so like i can tell she could probably like some of this newer stuff is like the pink pony club and stuff like that but i you can see the difference in some of the songs of how she grew as an artist just literally lyrically i mean her voice still sounds the same which is a beautiful voice.

Beautiful gowns beautiful gowns um i feel like she sounds like a whole bunch of artists like we were already saying right you could tell she listened to the a particular type of yeah artist and i think she blends it very well like i respect the the music that that chapel ron is doing is how How do you say the name? I think it's Chapel Roan. Chapel Roan. Okay. That's a very interesting name. I look, I look, I'm gonna look forward to researching more. I'll call it a Chappelle.

I know. I was like, Chappelle. Chappelle Ramon. But yeah, I like the music. It was pretty cool. It was definitely something outside of my, outside of my listening. Your normal stuff. But yeah, but I'm not afraid of pop music. It's cute. I feel like this sounds to me like the soundtrack for West Hollywood, you know? Oh, I'm quite sure they play this shit all the time. At least they should. But that's what I'm saying. Come on, gays.

Have you guys listened to Charlie XCX? That's another big gay album right now. I listened to a few songs. Are they gay? I haven't... No, I think she's probably identifies as some shit. Let me look her up. But I know a lot of gays. But I see what you're saying. Like, support the artist that's in our community. Yeah. Oh, I mean, I did Billie Eilish. She had another sad album. Another sad album. That's hilarious. Sad music. But yeah, it's really cool. I feel like Chappelle

Rhone, it's like theater. It's drama. Yeah. I like the ode to Divine. Oh, yeah. I took a peek on the Instagram and visually, you know, visually I thought they were older. Like some of the headshots and some of the pictures, I felt like they were like an artist that's a little older. And also the context sounds a little older. I feel like maybe they might be like an older reiteration, you know, like an older soul kind of an artist. Because I'm like, who hurt you, girl? You're like just 26.

Right. but hey you know like everybody hurts i mean look at olivia rodrigo she's like in her early 20s and she has oh you're right you're right two albums are sad boy song sacro song right no i know but but i feel like the the context like the writing the writing is is pretty uh mature mature charlie xcx identifies as an ally, next not a my queer show, not identifies as an ally.

Chapel Roan’s Personal Journey and Stance

Great album tons of instant classics but yeah there's something for everyone i think chapel roan's onto something y'all great artist and come back to long beach and come hang out with me chapel roan you're welcome here in long beach any day oh yeah she's about to be a nice little role model for the gays because i've read something and i don't know how much wikipedia is up to date yeah so please y'all take this with a grain of salt well some of this shit is some like

some good info all right so what's the witch saying so she basically said that she did date man in the past but however she stated that she's no longer dates man and identifies a lesbian but she was also diagnosed with bipolar 2 disorder when she was 22 years old you know and we know that that disorder which contribute to some of her difficult childhood she has described therapy and medication as being helpful for her.

She said that it came to her tacky pop star appearance after discussing her inner child with her therapist. So that's like very fucking strong of her to share that. Wow. And then also, you know, because we all need somebody to talk to. Mm-hmm. Therapy is important. Yeah. So I think that's a good light. Some of the guys need that. All right. The kids are going to be okay, everybody. The kids are going to be all right. They might save us after all.

The kids are going to save us. Because he's the motherfuckers that's voting at this point. Right. So we need you to be, please, strong. Oh, and she's also, Chappelle Rohn rejects offer to perform at White House for pride over Biden's Gaza response. Good. Love it. See? Even more reason. Love it. Okay, Chappelle Rohn, we can hang out. Let's make it happen at the Pink Pony Club.
