Mucked Up in Montreal | Season 1 Episode 30

 Bridget

 0:13

Welcome to another episode of Queen's Pitch Podcast. My name is Bridget. And I'm Carol. And we are here to do a recap of the Montreal versus Charlotte FC game. The game that know, if we even want to call it a game, but here we are. Kara we waited 24 hours so that we could try to compose ourselves. I don't know how much more composed we're going to be, but we're going to try. You want to just get into it?

 Kara

 0:37

Kara so coming into this match, 1s honestly, I hate playing in Canada. I hate playing in Canada. And it was no different yesterday, seeing this team go. Know. We tried Toronto. We tied in Toronto this year, which we all still felt that that was a ridiculous game. But going into Montreal, do you remember what happened in Montreal last year? Listen, I do, because I hold a very long grudge against Montreal. And what happened last year, that was the match that COVID protocols kept us down to barely anybody. We had to pull people up from Independence to be able to play even. And MLS wouldn't let us delay the match. We had so few players and they'd never been out there before. We had a lot of debuts that happened that night, which was cool to see, but also not what you really want, especially when there are COVID protocols happening. And it wasn't people's choices. And it wasn't like just like two people. It was like half the team. It was like 15 people or something ridiculous like that. Yeah, it was insane. And when we'd already had people gone from the team, like, let go already. And so we were down players because of that. But I remember that match sticking out to me because of just how poor it was. And not just because, again, what the hand we got dealt, but because of how unfair it was in that. That was the match that George got to finally play. And there was a man on the other team standing in front of him, and they were like, oh, no, he can see 1s good, he can catch that. It's no problem. It's the goal. We're going to count it. And later on, they came back and apologized to us because they disagree, read with it after the fact. And we would have won that game had it not been for that, if that goal would have gotten called off like it was supposed to be. And so that always has left a bad taste in my mouth. So I had a special. 2s Deep dislike for going to Montreal and going to Canada. That carried into yesterday's match, and 1s I'm not happy today. This has been one of the worst games I've been ever mad for this season. What about you? Well,

 Bridget

 3:03

I was pretty bitter at the end of that game yesterday. I was angry all around. I don't know if I was bad going into it. I remembered Montreal, but I thought we'll go in there, we'll do good. We'll probably get a tie, 1s tie it up. We did not get a tie. We didn't even get close to tying it up.

 Kara

 3:22

And 1s I could just tell within the first 15 minutes that something was awry with this team. It wasn't a good feeling. The ref was all off the charts against us, which makes no sense. I think he was from montreal or something. I'm not really sure. I don't know. I just made that up. But it seemed like he was paid off by them. We got no cause our way, and then

 Bridget

 3:46

it's like our guys it was just a hot mess. It was a hot mess. I guess we'll get into that when we talk about our wrath. You want to go ahead and get into our wrath so we can get that over with? Yeah, because I need to get this off my been. It's been full 24 hours that I've been just angry. It's like someone pressed my angry button for the last 24 hours. And that's how I've been all the way

 Kara

 4:10

through today. Not just like. 1s Angry at people, but like, this started it and I haven't been able to let it go. And yes, my first wrath is going to that terrible, terrible ref. And again, that's not why we lost. We legitimately got goals against us. We're gonna talk about that. That's not what I want to address. What makes me so mad is I am happy. I'm happy to lose a game that we legitimately lose. That's fine. And we got those goals against us. Okay? None of those were cause of the ref's fault. However, a ref is supposed to be there to be balanced and fair on the pitch. He's supposed to protect the players. And all he felt like he was doing yesterday was protecting Montreal in that. Kerwin got a very dangerous tackle, slide tackle against him where he cleated his leg. He gave him squat, didn't even give him a yellow against Montreal. Guy montreal didn't get any yellows yesterday. And the fouls were incredibly poor. Discrepancy. It was like Montreal had like two, we had six, and then they still had two, and we had like, 13. I think we only got three fouls at the very end of the game because I started counting. But it still was like, montreal has been a very high fouling team this season, and sure, we have two fine. Some of those have been enzo. Enzo wasn't even on there yesterday, so thank goodness he wasn't. Can you imagine how that would have gone? 1s But I digress. Montreal was still a very physical team and the guy was like, I'm blind. I don't see it. What are they doing? They're angels. They're fine. You're doing all of it. Even when you have the ball, you're obviously fouling. And that was just incredibly frustrating to watch because I like a fairly called game and it just was not it was more like payback for USA beating canada. It was so incredibly poor that I was listening to both of our announcers calling it. Willie p. And jessica charman were both saying it just like they couldn't believe how far school this was. And I'm putting words in their mouths so don't go back and say they said that. However, they also could not believe what was happening down there with that ref because it just seemed like he was making a difference 1s in the outcomes and what happened and frustrating our team. And I don't like to see that even though that's also life. Like, it's going to happen sometimes, but when you can't get a foul in edgewise, it was more like westwood finally went to the ref and was like, what do I have to do to get a foul called on me? Plainly things are happening. What does our team have to do to get a call our way for a foul? And I'm glad he went up and did that because it was incredibly frustrating. So much so that do you remember that? I was trying to look back at the moment of the penalty where we plainly thought there was a penalty, especially with what happened last week, where we were like, oh, that's absolutely ridiculous. They got a penalty. Well, this time should have definitely been a penalty if we got that penalty last week. And the man's like, I saw nothing. Nothing absolutely happened anytime. And then the card on ajimong. Was the other card. Bill got a card, right? I

 Bridget

 7:26

thought carol was going to get one. I know that one foul. I saw that somehow they called it on carol even though the guy behind him tripped. The guy behind fell. Carol was running and the guy behind carol fell down and tripped carol. And they caught a foul on carol even though carol was up was it was the weirdest. And then I think that had a lot to do with why he was taken off because carol was getting super

 Kara

 7:49

it. That was a foul. They called a foul and it wasn't a yellow, but yeah, he was

 Bridget

 7:53

slapping the pitch. He was pissed, right? He was slapping the wasn't he was not in a good mood.

 Kara

 7:59

Set carol off. Yeah, carol. Carol was my spirit animal. I think yesterday on the pitch, like I was channeling all of his anger. 1s But that yellow card he called against pat was completely unfair just because of his size and build. He got yanked down in the box on the penalty, and then the second time, he got an immediate yellow, and he just came in, hadn't committed a foul yet, and he's like, no, you're big and tall yellow. And I'm just tired of play like that. And Bill had a similar situation, and so I'm sorry. My entire wrath, it's for that ref. I have some words to say to him. No, I will not be abusing him, however. He's in my crap

 Bridget

 8:41

list. Well, the line judge was pretty off, too, because there was one ball that clearly went out of bounds, and you could see that it was out of bounds from our vantage point at home. And they never caught it. They just let them keep playing the ball, and we were all like, dude, that was out by like, 2ft. You let the dude just keep on playing. Just when we think we can't get a worse ref, right? It's just when we think we can't get a worse ref, we're like, geez. And when they're making our entire team mad, latonzio included, there's obviously something wrong. I mean, sure, there's some calls that really feel like they can go our way. Like Enzo's penalties in the past that didn't happen. There's things that we're going to carry into things, but to me, it's every time. Every time. It's Montreal. So I have a vendetta against Montreal. You're going down sometime. I can't wait for it to happen. 4s Okay, now we know how you feel. Just let it out. Just let it out. Now you got that off your chest.

 Kara

 9:40

 I need to breathe fire

 Bridget

 9:42

right now. We got that out. So now it's my turn to make everybody angry at me. Everybody probably agreed with you on the wrath side. My wrath is going to I'm not going to do a specific person. I'm going to just wrath the whole mentality of the team. At this point, I'm kind of frustrated. I think a lot of us harp on the coaches tactics, and we'll get on that later. But right now, I don't see the players wanting to win. I don't see a winning mentality in our players. I don't want to name anyone specifically out because I just don't think that's fair.

 Kara

 10:17

But I don't think that our team as a whole has that winning mentality. They don't go out there and give it their all every game. They're not out there in it to win it. If you're hired to do a specific position and you get to play that position, you need to do it. And there's a lot of people that aren't putting their heart and soul in it. There's some that go out there and leave every single inch of their body and soul and mind on that field. But then there's these other players that don't. And I love the players on this team. I'm behind all of them, pretty much. I feel like they're family to us. And at some point we have to start holding the players accountable for not going out there to win. And right now, I just don't see a lot of winning players like championship players on our team. Do we have players that have potential to be there? Do you have players that have the potential to be championship players? Yes. But none of them are playing to that level. None of them go out there and want to win it and pull their teammates to do it. Not these older players, not the more experienced ones, not these new and up and coming players.

 Bridget

 11:19

There was something missing. Maybe it was off. Something happened in the locker room yesterday, but I don't even want to say it was just yesterday. There's a game every now and then where you're like, yeah, these guys are in it. They don't give up. They got that grit. But eight out of ten games, they don't. And if you don't have a win in mentality and you don't have winning players or winning people that want to go out there and play like some of these other teams are building out there in their transfer windows, then we have no chance, period. No matter who our coach is, who we put up there, if these players aren't in it and they don't try and they're not out there putting 100% in it, then we're not going to win. And so I'm tired. I don't want to go out there and want to win. If none of these players want to go out there and they want to win because no one wants to lose, but you know what I'm saying? You've got to have a winning mentality, and if you don't, then unfortunately, I'm sorry, we need to just transfer you on somewhere else and get get some players that haven't. And that's how I feel.

 Kara

 12:11

I mean, this year, from what I've been learning about how long our season is, this year has felt a lot longer with the stress and trauma that this team has had to take. 1s Plus last year with the whole coaching fiasco know, mar out, latonzio coming in and trying to you know, 2s we've had so much turnover with players that it's almost like farcical with how little gel time this team has had. And even when this year we really feel like, okay, you've had some time. You've really had some time to do this. I mean, every week, in and out, it's a huge rotation, and this week no different. The curse of the center backs hits us entirely with having Melonda out, jones out again. Now we have Sobachinski, and we have Korujo in again. But then Karujo goes out for half the game as well because he gets an injury that unfortunately led to our second goal when we didn't pull him off in time, and he just can't recover. And whether they were communicating back just it didn't happen. And that back line was incredibly slow. Why weren't they weren't communicating? Especially with Carujo and his, like not sure, but Montreal saw. 2s A weakness and they took it. And then we were basically done in that moment, especially for that first half of the game. It was like, sure, we might have some former Premier League players out there, but you know what? They aren't making a difference. This first 3s really felt they felt defeated in that first half since that moment on, and they've had a lot of trauma and it's been a long season so far. I know we're only in July and we're going into the League's Cup where there could be games and there could be not games. It just really depends on how the team handles this next group stage and what they decide to do. Because the same thing happened with the Open Cup. But to have so many people taken down from injuries 1s and that's been like, what feels like four people every week and out for a period of time, then you have the same people catching the wear and tear and then not only that, they can't gel. Because even then, the same people being coming in and out it's not the same people being injured every time. Our center backs haven't had any time to gel. It's constantly a new one every week. And it's really kind of ugly a little bit to be that hard on this team with the young guys with what they've had to deal with this season. 1s I didn't I didn't see moments where people weren't giving heart yesterday. I just think it wasn't a collective heart. How can this team come together in a way that is really healing and gelling and trusting with so much that they've had to put up with this year?

 Bridget

 15:27

I don't even think it was the young ones that didn't have the heart. I think it was the young ones that had the heart that pushed it. If it would have been for the young, I think it would have been a totally different situation. It's the experienced guys that aren't pulling their weight. Those are the ones I have a problem with because if they aren't pulling their weight and those are the ones that Latonjo is relying on, then we have a problem. But I don't have a problem with those young guys coming in because I feel like they are there. They have that fire. They have that passion that I like to see. It's these more experienced guys that I don't see it out of, and we're pulling them in and putting all this pressure on their shoulders, but they're not pulling their weight. And 2s I'm just saying we can't get new players because our salary cap is all stupid right now. But if you're paid 300, 400, 600 grand to play a position, and that's your position normally, and Latonzio actually puts you in that position, 1s you need to play. You need to play and have heart and have the wherewithal to do it. And even Westwood came out yesterday and said, we're not passing. We don't know how to pass. And if we can't do the basics, then there's no point in anything else. And I think I said that last week, if they can't complete the basics, which is passing, and we learned that in Soccer 101, then we don't have a winning mentality. And that's not Latanzi's fault. He can't go out there and make them pass. No, but there's other things that he can address. But I'm just saying, for me, I have a harder time having that attitude toward the team. I definitely think they need to do better. And I can absolutely point out when things were poor in that, especially that first half, that second half, they showed a lot more courage than they'd showed so far. And you could see moments of brilliance. But I think yesterday especially, what happened to me was they did not play like a team. They played like individuals again. And individuals 1s know one would go hot, another would go cold. Now, whether that's because Montreal did a good job at shutting our players down who were trying to make things happen, because I think we definitely saw some of that where I thought we saw that Gaines would do a good job when he came in and he was really trying to make things happen. I saw Yuzuriak trying a couple of times. We saw ajimong. Do it a number of times and didn't get happen so well. 1s Right. And for whatever reason, Karujo tried it, which I think is what got him hurt. But it just didn't seem to make sense that aren't doing it together. Cohesively with that. 2s Connection and that drive all in mind. It just seemed like at times Westwood was having to push them to do things and it was like the willingness and the cohesive idea just was not together. And I think two, it also kind of hurt us that we kept going backwards. And I'm so tired of us going backwards. We always go backwards, especially

 Kara

 18:36

well. But yesterday we're like, okay, we got like 3 minutes left and we're still going backwards. What are you doing? That part was incredibly frustrating. That last 6 minutes.

 Bridget

 18:46

At least cleaning had better distribution 1s because he didn't kick it. They had to make him throw it on the ground now. Yep. But either way, he did better, so I can't

 Kara

 18:55

fault him for that. Thank goodness. Thank the Lord. Finally somebody got the hint.

 Bridget

 19:01

I mean, we still need to teach the dude how to freaking kick the ball and distribute it well that way because we can't always be throwing passing.

 Kara

 19:10

I thought Jessica charman made a good point yesterday in that she was like, you know, that's a lot of pressure on a goalkeeper, and maybe he's just completely overthinking it.

 Bridget

 19:19

Oh, he probably could be. He probably could. But I'm just saying I'm going to give him props. Well, let's do our favors because there were a couple. 1s Hence a couple. And then we'll wrap it up with the topic that's going around the twitterverse. So my favorite today, it's going to go to privet. Love me some. Privet loved it when he plays for the crown legacy. He's a good guy. He came in yesterday. I think that was his MLS debut. He got to come in in the first half for carujo. That announcer ruined that name, too. The announcer actually ruined everybody's name yesterday. Just so you know. Apple TV needs to work on that. If you're going to have people announce people's names, you need to get it right. But anyway, that was my rant. But privet did awesome. He got put in a center back for her crew. Ho. We were all like, what in the world? He's a midfielder. We put him in center back. That was a questionable situation there, but he did. And I think that private did a great job. Honestly, I think private did better than bill has done in that position. Private was all over the field, but he made a lot of shots. I think he actually had a shot on goal, too, at one point. I think they were doing a corner kick or something. Anyways, I saw him up there. Privet just came in and did what private had to do, and I think he held his own. And so for everyone that's saying latonzio shouldn't have put him in a center back, that's probably we could discuss that all day long. But the dude came in and did what he had to do there, and I can't fault him for it. For his first MLS game, he. 1s He should get all the props in the world.

 Kara

 20:48

I agree. I was really happy to see the game that he had yesterday because we knew that it was vulnerable spot, first of all, that he went in for. He also that's not his typical position, which we shouldn't be surprised because that's what we've seen all season is people out of their positions. However, I also thought that they were looking for a younger guy to be able to keep pace with some of the people on Montreal. And I think to me, that's the reason why he went in for that. However, I loved his willingness to just be like, all right, however I can help, I'm going to be there. And he could have been a moment of weakness for the team because being so young, being on the back line, that has been incredibly leaky. And not only that, playing a position that he's not normally played with, people he doesn't normally play with in this high stakes game. But you know what? He really stepped up and he did not give those moments of weakness. And so who cannot be proud of his performance and of his effort yesterday? Kudos to

 Bridget

 21:50

Andrew Privet. Yeah, he's a cute little guy. I think he did as good on the legacy. So I'm excited to see what he's going to do and I hope he continues to well, we're going to have to use him because half of our back lines hurt. But I think also at that point that Latanzia was maybe thinking about I don't know how to really say this because I don't know sports terminology. 1s Go to a three back line and then have Privet move up into the midfield, some kind of do the DJ situation. And I think Privet's more of a DJ type player than some of the other people we have know as midfielders. So I think that that was a good not fault in that. I like it and I like Privet and I can see good things coming from him in the future. So who is your favorite this

 Kara

 22:34

week? I think it has to go to Patrick Ajimong for his great effort yesterday. Didn't really expect him to go in and play for Carol, but. 1s I'm not mad at Carol. I was just as mad as he was, so I understood why he came out, if that was the case. So to have Patrick in there, though, like, you know, you gotta hand it to him. He's so young and he has been getting time with both teams, but not really enough time on the first team. He's been getting like 510 minutes. But here he really gets the opportunity to make a difference, and he has what should be a penalty in the box, doesn't get it called. He also has a number of attempts that are shots, at least, even if they aren't on goal. He has some great runs. He also gets called for a foul, which, as I said before, was unfair. However, he gave everything he had, which is the attitude you want to see. And I feel like the ref faulted him for it, but he deserves nothing from praise from our end. I like

 Bridget

 23:43

Patrick. I think he's another good guy, too. He's really friendly. I've seen him at a lot of the Legacy games shoot. He plays his ten minutes for Charlote FC, and then the next day goes and plays for Legacy and scores like two or three goals. It's crazy. And then he comes out there. I thought he was going to score last night. I actually didn't mind that substitution either. And I think that he can hold that front line. 1s He can do what he's got to do, too. So I think as soon as he learns the ways of the MLS world, I mean, it's not his fault he's so large, but he's to get those calls. So if he can learn how to harness that in the right way and get the calls on him, kind of like we know that Byrne can get a call on him, camille can get a call on. Once Ajaman. Learns how to do that part of it and not get called on himself, then I think that he could be I really think the charlote FC. Has got a in the next few years, they're going to have a great do. I really do see that because these guys are really good and they're young.

 Kara

 24:40

Yeah. But I just really hope that know, Patrick has been doing some of the same hold up play that Enzo has and he's also pretty physical, but not in the physicality that Enzo is used to from America. Like they let them muscle defenders in south America, which he said recently in an interview they obviously don't let him do here. But it's very different and he's had to get used to that refing, but Ajimong. Hasn't had that same 1s so. But they're still just because he's so big, they're constantly calling it on him. And I really feel like 1s it's going to follow him. And I really hate that for him because I don't feel like it's warranted every time, especially at least twice that I can think of where he's been on the pitch. It has not been warranted. And sure, we're all going to be like, all right, yes, sure, our guy got a foul. I mean, not the game because we're not allowed to say that we're all just supposed to boo, but 1s it's still the case that sometimes we're going to be the ones doing legitimate foul. But Patrick, I just hope that. 1s He's able to keep playing with such heart and such courage despite those, because as we've seen, MLS is not willing to forgive him for that. They're going to hold it against him.

 Bridget

 26:01

Yeah. Unless he goes to another team. I'm just kidding. I think that MLS is against charlote FC. A lot and then we have in the world anyway, so that's our favorites. There were a lot of guys that we thought had a great that had not great but had some potential out there that did their part, who

 Kara

 26:18

 we saw effort from.

 Bridget

 26:19

Yes, that we saw effort from. Those were just the two that we felt deserved favors. And so on that note, we wanted to wrap it up with everything that's going on in the twitterverse. So I'm going to ask kara a question and we'll let her answer it and then I'll give you my part of it, too. Okay. So kara, I asked you this earlier, so let's do this while we're on the air. Are you part of team laddie out?

 Kara

 26:42

I am not. However, 1s I understand that there are legitimate criticisms, but I cannot jump on that. First of all, that's not the type of person that I am. I have to see a real crossing of an inappropriate line to me to really be on the vehement out train. And to me, he's not that type of person. I'm not seeing that. I feel like I didn't even say that about mar. But I do see after the end how that wasn't healthy for the team to be in that sort of environment. So I was fine with that. However, I feel like what has been handed to letancio this year has made it extremely hard for him. And there's some things that cards that he was dealt, very poor ones. 1s And things that he has handled with maturity and try to keep the health and the well being of his players at the forefront sometimes to our detriment as a team, and results wise. And again, he's going to say 1s he can only do so much about the results, right? It's up to the players. He's there for the players. That's his job. And I understand that. However, 1s I don't think that it's going to be healthy for them to pull him out at this point because of the trauma and experiences that they've had, the injuries, the just sheer toughness of this year, exhaustion wise. We've had so many injuries. We've had two tournaments, and now we're heading into a third and then back to the MLS Rat race here, which we're at the bottom of. It has not been an easy year in things in the negative column. We had way more injuries than we ever anticipated. And some that just are like, hit you again, hit you again, hit you again. Oh, they're out again. And he couldn't foresee that. That's not him. I think that's just, just illustrating the stress that has been on these players, especially some of the younger ones that have had. 2s Less time to bounce back from that. And you know, when you're stressed, when you're really trying, when you just don't have the bandwidth, you're more susceptible to injury. And for me, I think that's been some of what's happening this year. Again, that's just speculation, it's not fact, but to me, it's just something to consider. And so I think Latanzio, like your nickname of him is Lady Daddy. Really think he's trying to be that figure, that protector for the team. And while his choices in tactics sometimes and in reactions and his positioning as well as whatever he's trying to do with consistently trying to play the same way, however consistently getting beat the same way is incredibly frustrating. But he's a new head coach and I'm certainly no expert at anything, but I can't fault him in that way because maybe he's just an incredibly slow learner where you're going to be frustrated and he's also playing to I'm trying to see the best out of my players and trying to give them the chance. Whereas we're like react faster, react in this way. That doesn't seem like you're asking them to do a too hard of a job for what they're and because I feel like at the end of last year, this is not the same Latanzio we loved. Like, we were like, oh my gosh, he's helping us win. Sure, he did some wacky things, but he had a tough situation to come up from. We didn't have a midfield pretty much last year. So in that we're trying to build back, I think by being Latonzio out now, even though we say there's like a break and time enough, I think that's just one more blow. Especially when we consider the mentality of the younger players that have had such a hard year. And why he's been trying to bring in more experience and more stability and more leadership is because they need more building up this year more than ever. And we know this season, just like last year when we saw in Bender, right, he went out halfway through last year right around this time because the schedule, it was grueling and it was tough and he didn't have the endurance. And I feel like that is something that can be said overall for our team as far as like mentality and what is in your mind, what you're tired of in your mind, bleeds over into your physical. 2s And so I'm not on the latonzio out train because I would rather him see it out to the end of this year. If we lose this year, we lose this year. I think you have a legitimate thing, but you need time for these guys. And to just yank it right now I think would be even more injurious. I'm going to agree with you on been. I termed him laddie. I termed him laddie daddy. And I was always on give vladi a chance, we're going to give him a chance. And I think that we've seen progress in him this year. So we can't say that he hasn't learned and he's a new head coach and any of us that are new at our jobs are going to take some time to learn it, build it, whatever. Yes, he's been a coach, but he's never been a head coach like you said. And then he came in the head coach. He was thrown into it, walks, legit died. He had to deal with that on his hands. And then we don't even know the circumstances surrounding what happened in walksteff. But I'm sure it wasn't an easy situation anyway because there was a lot of people and they were know the team break, but then also or preseason, and then you have what happened with nuno and andre that happened two weeks after the season started and he had to be quiet about it. But you can't say that that didn't shake up the entire team because like you had said before we got on here to record is a lot of those guys were friends with these players. They were really close to walks, but then on top of that, they were friends with nuno and they were friends with andre. They hung out with them. They had relationships with them. They built bonds with them last year in the locker room. All of a sudden all this happens and then he's got to get these guys to focus again, get their stuff together. There was a couple of other behavioral issues, I think, with some other players that had to be handled, too. But it was like he had to calm everybody down and get them in order. And he was doing some weird stuff at the beginning of the season. So then he starts doing a little bit better. He switches it up, tries to get it going, and he did. He got it going. We were like, oh, he knows what he's doing. Okay. Then all of a sudden we start tying. We're not losing, but we're tying. And he's putting all these people in weird CB positions because he's trying to make these guys I think he's trying to build these guys does. It's just not working. 2s Like you said, it's kind of slow. He's trying, but I see him changing. And even with Saturday night, he changed the lineup at halftime. He would have never done that back in March or April. 1s He changed it. He knew we needed to and he did it. So he's learning. He's obviously learning. He's trying to make a difference. It's just not working out. And no matter what he does, we're going to fault him because we're not winning. But he can't go out there. He's not passing the ball. He's not implementing that. So we can fault him for putting a midfielder at CB, but then we can see what he was doing, if you think about it. And he's going to go to a three line, push the person up. I mean, he does it with DJ and it works. And we're all like, yeah, work. So I don't know. I'm resigned to the fact that if they replace him, then he gets replaced. Okay, maybe that's what the team needs. I don't really know. But I don't think the guys aren't behind him. I think the guys are still behind him. The players are. And like you said, if we lose this year, we lose year. But if we yank him and put in a new coach, we're not putting Tavares in. So y'all can get over that. They're not going to yank Tavares from the crown legacy that's doing well in leading their division and put him in for Latonzio. If they do that, then I think they're crazy as lunatoons anyway. Why would you ruin both your teams, right? That's dumb. So let's just get over the fact that they're going to put Tavares as the interim coach. They're not. So where else are you going to go? You're not going to put Fuchsia in as the interim coach. He's just now learning, too. So let's have common sense, people. You're going to yank this coach who these young guys really do look up to and admire. And whether he's winning games or not, he's building these guys. He is legit building these guys. We have seen bender grow. We have seen privet well, Private's probably been one with us, but we've seen Melonda grow. We've seen all these guys growing. So let's give the guy a break on that part. So he's growing the people and like you said, it's just not working. He's growing these people and the people he's growing together just aren't meshing the way he would like it to mesh. And he's not catching on to the fact that let's fix something. And even if he tries to fix it, another CB goes down. So then he's like, oh, what am I going to do now? I mean, next thing you know, he's going to have to use George as a midfielder because we're going to have nobody else a CB and the CBS are going to have to be back on the back line and we're going to have nobody. Anyway, I'm just saying, if we're going to replace Latonja, then we can do it at the end of the year. But us going out there wearing Latangio Out shirts to games, chanting Latangio out. Somebody even made a joke with the next TFO be latangio out.

If you honestly are a fan of Charlote FC and you think that is a good idea to do prior to our guys playing a game on our field and yes, I'm getting a little rowdy. Then you have lost. Your mind because that could do nothing but harm to our guys that are going out there to play for you to do what they can. Even if I don't think they always have the winning mentality. You go out there and you're boing and you put up a freaking TFO or sign that says their coach is out, then they're going to stop having faith in that coach and then all heck is going to break loose and we're not going to have a team, period. If you're real fans, you get behind those players 100. Do you have to be behind the coach? No. Do you have to be behind Tepper? Do you have to be behind Zorn? No. But you get behind them fan, you get behind them players and when they step foot on that field, you don't boo them. You don't do any of that. You support them 100. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Yeah, we are a hot and cold fan base in know we aren't La galaxy over here, but we're acting like we know. We're acting like we have this really long oh, my gosh.

 Bridget

 37:22

Losing streak for two years in a right. No right.

 Kara

 37:26

And then poor decision making all over the place. But really it's just we've got a crap hand and every time we turn around we have an injury. That is key. I mean, remember last year we were doing pretty hot until carujo went out and then it was like shaky. 1s I mean I mean, sure, not hot the whole time, but finally things were gelling together. Our midfield had gotten shaken up quite a bit, but still, like when Carujo went out, that was real point where it felt like some legs got knocked out from under us pretty hard. Otherwise they fought and they rallied. We sure lost sometimes, but we were having a good time. We saw soccer being played, but this time it's like we believe me so much in this team that when they don't do what we expect them to do or have the heart that we bring and it shouldn't be on the fans to do that.

 Bridget

 38:19

Latagio doesn't say the right things ever about the fans, so let's just get over that. He doesn't know how to talk about that. I think his intentions are true, but he just doesn't know how to say it right. The fans have nothing to do with how the guys perform on the field. Do the guys anxious to play in front of us? Yes, because they know we're hot and freaking cold and if they don't perform in front of us, we're going to lose our minds and say, fire them all. Well, not the players, but their whole coaching staff. But also

 Kara

 38:43

I think that. 1s At times. You've seen the effort be okay. The fans are the ones that are excited. Let's have the players be excited. But really, you're right. It has to come from the players first and then the fans are there to support them. 1s The twelveTH man shouldn't be holding all the other eleven men up.

 Bridget

 39:03

I agree with that. I totally agree with that. But by coming out there and booing their coach as they step on the field isn't going to do that.

 Kara

 39:10

No, but I'm just saying there's two ideas here with that and it does need to come from the players first because they're the ones making the effort. And to me, that's kind of like, would the Royal Family have made a difference in Montreal because of how disjointed they were? Probably not, because they just were not together at all. And sure, it might have been easier to rally them with some more people, but we still would have been like, what are you doing? What's happening out there?

 Bridget

 39:41

I was in DC and they had a lot of followers in DC. It didn't rally them. It's not the fans that can make these players play. The fans are going to be there no matter what. I feel like we're going to be there. We're just going to argue with each other till we burn the place down. It's really what's going to happen, but we'll be there. We'll be there for the players. We both are very bitter, don't get us wrong, but I just think that this whole latonzo out thing would only be more of a detriment to our team at this point. If we're going to do it, do it at the end of the year. We only got a couple more months to do. But you're telling me you're gonna do that and get rid of the coach right before we freaking take a break, which not really a break because we're playing in two weeks and then we're gonna play messy and we're not gonna have a coach. That's crazy. You don't lost your love of mind. Anyway, on that note, we don't have a game again till the 29th, right? Oh no, we have a game this Friday is against Dallas, but it's away. Yeah,

 Kara

 40:36

Dallas FC Dallas, which I think we're all going into that hoping for good things and then Nakaxa. Yeah, but I've heard that they were pretty down low in their standings in Mexico, so I'm hoping that we can at least beat them 1s or see what all that's about. But yeah, I'm looking forward to that and I really hope that we can get our new signing in. 1s Happy to have brecht. Why did I trill that? I don't know. Breck de hair.

 Bridget

 41:10

You're trying to make his name Spanish. It's not

 Kara

 41:13

but I don't know. 1s We're all going to have so much

 Bridget

 41:16

fun saying that. I can't wait for you. I'm not even going to try to say the last name, but anyways, brecht. Breckt.

 Kara

 41:22

We're just going to call him Brecked 1s and hopefully we'll see some more defensive actual signings happening rather than just rumors, which we're all super excited about. But still, we're waiting for the final line and we're also waiting to see if we can get a clean slate from the whole Andre Nuno

 Bridget

 41:42

thing. Yeah. And on that note, if you haven't read Carol Walton's football Friday, I know I say this every time, but the one on Friday, she did an interview with Zorin Kretna and she had some very good information about that. The fact that we really can't do much until we open up that lineup with Nuno and Andre. And he specifically said if we had any questions about Andre, we need to ask MLS because they're not allowing us to do anything. But we can't go out here and pull the people that we want to pull because right now we have no money. So until we can clear that up, we're having to take freebies. So we don't have a lot of

 Kara

 42:14

options. Yeah. And just in case anyone is listening to us and they may not know who we're talking about, zorin Cornetta is the sporting director for Charlote FC. So he is responsible for signing people in the front. So, you know, he heads is above the scouting department. Scouting department goes and finds them and he's responsible for signing them and bringing them to Charlote. So that's who Carol's interview was. And it was a really good, illuminating interview. I really enjoyed

 Bridget

 42:42

that. Yeah, me too. So anyway, on that note, I hope everyone has a great week until next time. 3s And on that note, if anything crazy happens with anything crazy this week, we will definitely post it. But let's hope fingers crossed that we get some rest and our guys get some rest and we play Jesus fiera fiera farrah however you say his name on Friday with Dallas, so that ought to be fun.

 Kara

 43:08

 Good

 Bridget

 43:08

times. Anyway. Have a great week, miss days.

 Kara

 43:11

Buh- Bye.
