Welcome back to Queen's Pitch. I'm Kara.
Bridget
0:18
And I'm Bridget. So
Kara
0:20
before we get into this game against the Colorado Rapids, Bridget, it shall we discuss the Crown Legacy game against Inter Miami Two?
Bridget
0:29
Yeah, that was a fun game on Friday night. I know they moved it up to 06:00 because of the weather. It was drizzling to rain, and when we got there, but then the sun came out, it was actually a great game. Kalina started, so that was exciting. I know we talked about that last week on here, whether we'd see him playing for him. So we saw Kalina and SoBo and Jack Neely 1s and then Adam Armor and a lot of the regular players. Hami Hamadi diop ajaman. I can't say his name right either, but I tried. So it was a really neat game. It got all the way to the end before it poured on us. But there was probably maybe 150 people there watching, so it was no one there. So it was really a really good experience to be up close and personal with the team. And this Legacy team is a team to be reckoned with. They're number one in their league right now in the standings, and so it was just a really fun game. Yeah,
Kara
1:26
that's one of the things that we can be excited about exactly, is that they're top of their table right now with, what, four games in, right?
Bridget
1:34
I think four or five. It's nice to see that they can play well, obviously, without the Charlotte FC players that play down. They're a great team already. But then when you add mix in some of the Charlotte FC players as well, it just elevates their team even higher. I do know that one of the things that I noticed Friday night, just the team overall, is they communicate when they're playing together. And I don't know if that's because they're younger and you're used to doing that on a younger team, but the whole game, those those kids I'll call them kids because they're all weight. They could all be my kid, probably, but they're all other than Kalina, they were all talking to each other, and they talk each other through the game. And I think that's missed in the Charlotte FC game, so we'll talk about that later. But it's really nice to see that out there on the Legacy
Kara
2:23
Field. Yeah. So this was the first time we saw Christian Kalina back from his back injury. What did you think of his play? He
Bridget
2:31
didn't have a lot of saves because there wasn't a lot of shots on goal, because the defense was actually doing really well. I wondered that. Yeah. 1s So it wasn't like he was out there like Marcus was against Toronto being beat up on the whole time. That's probably going to be a totally different story when we see him have to go under that pressure. But it was good to see him out there. He's a very vocal goalie. I know we had talked about that before, but I didn't realize how vocal he was. I don't think for the whole 90 minutes he ever stopped talking. He was always either yelling at which players, what to do, where to be, or he was saying, Bravo, bravo, bravo. So he gives them a lot of credit when they're out there doing things and they're making great shots, like he's cheering them on. And I could actually tell a big difference in the defensive line from when Sheely, who is their normal goalie, is in there to when Kalina was in there, which is obviously going to be a big difference because I think there's probably eight to ten years between the two goalies. But Kalina was leading that team and telling them what to do. So he might not have been on the field and been playing, but he has not lost. That
Kara
3:37
right. And I think it'll take maybe a few more games. Like if Crown Legacy has another match this week, I think it's going to take him a few more games to really get match fit to be able to come up to the first team. But it's good that he's getting those minutes and. 1s Getting that opportunity to warm back up and show Crown Legacy what a strong leadership is. Because as Christian Latanzio talked about in some of his recent pressers, that's some of the things that we've missed is the same leadership qualities that we had last year that have been different this year. For
Bridget
4:11
him to go out there and be instructing them and helping them along, it wasn't in a condescending way where it could have been. He was literally just boosting their confidence and helping them out. And I personally think that Jack Neely fed off of it really well. I think it makes a big difference for SoBo. Totally different. SoBo hadn't done well in the Legacy games in the last couple of weeks period. And then this week, it was like he came out there and Kleena was instructing him, do this, do that, yawn, yawn, yawn, yawn. And it showed. So that might be, unfortunately, something that our team is really, really missing. And I hate when lady brings that up, but 2s you can see it. It's evident. It's just evident. The
Kara
4:53
guys who are out there for Crown Legacy at least that back line, are all Charlotte FC players playing down onto Crown Legacy in some ways because they'll stay there, right? They're getting their experience and getting smarter, but also still using the opportunity indies to play and practice with the first team. So it's not like any of them are strangers to how Kalina plays because he's been practicing with the team again. 1s And even though some of them didn't get the same opportunities, like Jack Neely hasn't had that many. Right? Right. Because he was in that position. And while Kalina was out on recovery, same
Bridget
5:28
for Hami and the same for Armor. It's been a year. Yeah. And SoBo, I mean, he played with Kalina a lot last year, but not as much because we didn't see SoBo in until Carujo got hurt. Really? 1s He's used to brightest, but for the most part, those guys, they're not used to working with cleaning, but they will get to. And I think it's good to get that experience behind them, as Latanzio keeps saying, to get that experience, to get someone that knows the game to help them move on. On that note, Adam Armor, the first game I saw him play for the Legacy, I was kind of like, oh, my goodness gracious, he's got a lot of work to go. And I know I said that he kind of makes me my words. I like it when they do that. The last two legacy games he's played unreal. I mean, he is very good, very consistent. He wasn't as big of a play maker this week, but he was in the middle of everything. He was in the mix, he was playing some good defense. He was where he needed to be. He was being very aggressive. I think he might actually move up quicker than I even thought he would. I think that he's something that we're missing on that back line is some fresh legs. I don't think he's going to come out starting or anything like that, but he brings an aspect where he can play that back defensive line, but then can move up as a winger, too. My daughter said he's like a left
Kara
6:49
back winger. Wing back.
Bridget
6:50
Yes. Whatever that is. Yeah, a wing back. So you can see he's back there defending, but then he goes up and scores. Like, he goes up to try to score as well. So he's playing that whole field and I don't think we have that on the Charlotte FC team right now. I know we have some potential that could be there, but Adam is actually playing that part on the Legacy, so I could see him moving up quicker than what I thought. He's doing a great job.
Kara
7:17
It remains to be seen because we knew that Fuchs also could play wingback as well as inverted fullback. Right. Which is what they're being asked to play right now. Pretty much. 1s That was his style of play to begin with. So I think that will set him up for success. That's why we're so excited to see him play. Do you think he's going to play maybe in, like, the Open Cup for I mean, I thought it might take him another month.
Bridget
7:45
The only thing that could keep him playing would be how many minutes he gets this Sunday. Because the Legacy does have a game this Sunday and then you have the Open Cup on Tuesday. We'll be able to tell by who plays in that Legacy game. What Latanzio or the Charlottes he's setting up for the US open cup. I think, personally, Jack Neely, I know he's 17, but that kid is incredible. I'm saying put him in for Bill.
Kara
8:11
Not yet, okay. Because one day 2s well,
Bridget
8:17
they play about the same and we'll go there later. Jack was all over that ball on Friday night. Like he saved it. He was making plays. There was one time I thought he was going to break his ankle because he was legit, like, sticking his legs, and he's got some skinny little legs, but he was, like, making plays that we don't see our guys even making. So he's got those passion and maybe that's what I think I'm missing. He's just
Kara
8:40
got raw talent in that position. Right.
Bridget
8:42
And I see that passion that Adam has and that Jack Neely has. I don't even see that in Soba. I'm going to go ahead and say Soba does not have the same passion that you see in Jack or in Adam. And even comedy has not gotten to that level, I don't think. But those two guys have this passion and this desire to win in and desire to go after that ball and to attack and attack and attack and attack. I don't see that on our defensive line right now. I see our defensive line as being a reactive defensive line as opposed to let's make something happen. 1s And the Legacy's defensive line is not scared to make things happen. I don't know, maybe it's the coaches, I don't know. But that Legacy team's got it going on. The Strikers got it going on. Everybody's got it going on. We should be extremely proud of their success this season. That says nothing to diminish anything of the first team. I mean, they're two different levels of play. Obviously, MLS has more talent, has more her strategy and different types of play. But it's really great that we have this pipeline and we're seeing this pipeline be successful. And not only that, but they're the same. Like, the coaches work together for both Crown Legacy and Charlotte FC, because some of those players, again, they're on Charlotte FC's supplemental roster, right? So they're getting time with the first team. And that means everything in access to the first team levels of coaches, the nutrition, the health and recovery opportunities. And not only that, but they were selected by the same front office. You can be mad for Charlotte FC's coaching and front office. That's the same one that selected Crown Legacy. Right? There's something to be said here for the smart level of development that they really are trying to take and that we're seeing this quality come out. 1s Beautifully in Crown Legacy that people are calling for on the first team. But it's the same strategy up the club. Right, right. You got to keep that perspective
Kara
10:41
in mind for some of this, too. But also, I don't think anybody wants to rush Crown Legacy players into the first team because they want them to grow. They want them to develop their time. I'm with the first team will help them develop. And I think that the great thing about it is you're seeing that right now in their season. I mean, who knows how it will continue, of course, but I wouldn't want to be pushing anybody up to be less successful and to be challenged and or encourage an injury. I
Bridget
11:11
only do it for selfish reasons because I want to win at all costs.
Kara
11:15
We're just excited about the talent and passion that they're showing.
Bridget
11:18
On that note, they do have another game this Sunday coming up. It is Kids free day for $15. If you show up at the gate, you don't have to pay the fees. You pay $15 at the gate and you can go in. And I'm going to be honest, we went Friday night, and the kind of the neat little thing about it was we walked in with Carol and Camille and we walked out with Bender and food and Private and Lindsay. So you do see some of the Charlotte FC players there. It's a fun atmosphere to go to. So if you haven't been to one of those games, definitely go out there on Sunday if you can, for an afternoon, a family fun day and enjoy it, especially when you can get kids and free. Because like my dad always says, if it's free, it's for me. I mean, obviously my kids ten, and I even said, can we pretend you're five? But we can't pull that off. It's a great game to go
Kara
12:05
see. Yeah. And they'll be playing Columbus Crew two, which means all of Columbus crew is coming to Charlotte as we'll be playing. The first team will be playing Columbus Crew on Saturday night. You want to
Bridget
12:17
just roll on over to our game from last night? That was an interesting game. Right?
Kara
12:21
Last year we visited Colorado. This time they got to come travel to us. So this was their first time playing in bank of America Stadium. Obviously, the implication was we really needed to win this game. We need to come out with three points here. We do not. We tie the game. The game is tied to two to two, which is different from zero to zero last year. So that's an improvement. Both sides scored goals.
Bridget
12:46
Lady did change the lineup from the week before. We are like, change the lineup, put us back to normal. So he did. He brought in Bronco and Jones in the midfield with Carol, I suppose, because that's what they pretend, that Carol's in the midfield, but whatever.
Kara
13:01
And this time Mora is in for Lindsay on the back lineup. That's the only difference in the back line. Right.
Bridget
13:06
And then you got Vargas,
Kara
13:07
Enzo and Yusufiac.
Bridget
13:09
But he did put Bronco and Jones in, which was the big talk all week long. Without Veronica and Jones in the middle, we weren't going to do anything, blah, blah, blah, blah on the bench. We had some surprising names, right. We had Cambridge back on the bench and then we also had Andrew Private, which we haven't seen Private on our bench yet. That was very interesting when it came out, there was two noticeable ones that we saw were not on the bench and that was Shinoshiki and Santos. We don't know why they weren't on there, but they were not on the bench. And so in their place, it looks like they put in Cambridge and Private. Is that what you think happened?
Kara
13:44
Yes. And it's important to note that after the match in the presser with Christian Latanzio, they did ask why Shinishiki and Santos were not on the bench. And he opted to say he wanted to discuss only the players in the 20 men selected for the match. Right.
Bridget
14:03
The 20 men roster. That's the only ones he wanted to talk about. And that's the most information that we could find out for you at this time.
Kara
14:10
But Bridget, I am sure you have got some wrath. Maybe let's just go into the bad and then we'll end on the good in a hope of next time.
Bridget
14:20
Okay? So I'm going to go with my first wrath and I'm going to start out with my baby wrath. Okay. And then we'll go to the big raft. Okay. Okay. And this is going to be a shocker to some people.
Kara
14:29
But it's going to have to be Marks. Okay? I love my George. Everybody knows I love my George. But I'm going to say that he made a very crucial mistake last night that cost us the game. And the only reason I'm giving him my baby wrath is because if I'm going to give someone my favor, then I got to do the other side, too, because that's just how you have to do. So he's going to get my baby wrath. I think he got in his head after that first goal, to be honest with you. And he's very good at not getting in his head, but I think he got in his head. And then when they put in those five bags or whatever the heck we tried to do at the end, 1s I think at that point, he was discombobulated when the ball came to him. I don't know what happened, but he dropped the ball. And that's just something that you don't do with that position. So this week, he's going to get my baby wrath.
Bridget
15:18
That's about as nice as I can say it. Yeah.
Kara
15:21
I think this just came down to he is going to learn from this. I don't think anyone can be as hard on George as George is on himself for this. So I know this really probably disappointed a whole bunch of fans who really felt like the team deserved to win and also chose to express that disappointment with a course of booze at the end, again, which I was not very happy about. No. George sat down after that goal and he knew it. He knew that was him. He knew he should have done something different. The man's momentum goes into his hands, and instead of George being in front of it to take the knock on his body, the guy's momentum goes through his hands. He just doesn't get enough of a good grip on the ball and it rebounds out. And I think, too, there was a miscommunication there with Harrison Awful, who is trying to see if it will rebound backwards or something. Like, he stops, he slows down because he knows George is coming for it. And so I think that was part of the communication there. But then you also see the rest of the backline. Like Tui Loma is still running. He's trying to come back to defend the goal because he knows George is out of the box, but he pauses right when he's watching what happens to the goal and to the ball. And that's when the Colorado Rapids player is able to move through it and just very calmly kick it in. And Tuiloma? Is he's caught? 1s Slower to it. Now, I'm not blaming him or a fool for this, but I do think right there, there needed to be more coverage and you needed to play through the end. You needed not to stop. And so I think they could have backed George up
Bridget
17:07
better, you know, and I know having kids that are goalies, they're going to make mistakes, they're going to make errors, that's going to cost them the game. I mean, it happens, it happens all the time them. But I always tell my kid, the team should have never put you in that place. That one goal is going to make that big of a difference, honestly, unless it's penalty kicks. So you can't put all of that on yourself. Yes, you're going to make a mistake. But when a goalie makes a mistake,
Kara
17:30
it's more costly. Right
Bridget
17:31
now, if Enzo doesn't shoot half the time, it's not as big a deal, you know what I'm saying? Because him not making a shot is not going to make them score all the time. Right? That's something that a goalkeeper has to take. They have to take it to heart. And the criticism from Marks after last night was, first of all, I had to get off social media for the whole night. But we have to remember, A, George is young. He's never played on the MLS level until this year, and he's been doing very well. He
Kara
18:01
has beyond his years, right?
Bridget
18:03
And he has one bad game and we're all like, sit him down. 2s Come on, people. Kalina last year had a ball against Columbus Crew that we were in the playoff hunt that went over his head from midfield
Kara
18:19
and we lost the game because of it. Did we all say sick Kalina then? I mean, maybe some people, but all of us did not know. And so when your goalie makes one mistake, you need to stop it and take it back and breathe. If George would have let five in last night, then okay. 1s If you let five in the last five weeks, okay. But
Bridget
18:40
like I said, I give him my baby raft, but let's give the kid a break too. He's still a kid and he's still learning. I'm pretty sure he's taking it to heart. So I'm going to give you a baby raft, but then I'll give you a hug and let's make it all better and do better this week.
Kara
18:54
Yeah. And this is my last thing. He goes to catch it and there is an argument to be made there. That where we are in the game. He should have just punched it to just clear it out of danger.
Bridget
19:04
Well, there was one too in the first half where the ball did come at George and it was a sketchy situation where he ran up and it was like he took a double thought, do I grab the ball now or do I back up? And luckily he ran, I don't know if you remember that one, but he did run up and can grab the ball really quickly before the Colorado guy got there. So he was already playing that game last night anyway, and I think it just caught up with him at the end. And we can all have bad days. We all have those games. And so, George, we think you'll do a lot better next week. On that note, since I've talked a little negative, let's talk a little positive. You want to give us a
Kara
19:41
favor, Kara? I'm not sure who needs to go first, so don't take this like, oh, this person number one. Okay, so I'm going to go with Carolyn Vargas for the first one. He was the man of the match last night. He got a goal. He did not get an assist, but he did make four key passes into the box. He was doing great. Dribbles he was taking shots. Arguably some of them were off target, but he does make one when it counts beautifully. So he was giving very good forward momentum to the team. And I thought he had a great match. It wasn't without fault, but I don't think any of this game is without fault. It would be termed, like, shaky in how we kind of played. It just wasn't solid. So I would say shaky. But I still thought Kerwin had great momentum in the offense for where the team needed to be. And so I'm glad we could count on him there because I don't think he's had the same look the last two games. And I think this was different for him, and I think that's partially because of how the midfield lays out, but that'll come later. But he did very
Bridget
20:47
well. Vargas did really well last night. There were, like you said a couple of times where he I don't know where he was kicking it, but he was kicking it. That one that he did kick in was pretty amazing. I did notice that after the game, he was extremely angry. He was extremely angry that they tied. He won man of the match. And when he was going up to the podium to give the crown on him, you could just tell he was not happy. He didn't care to be a man of the match. He just did not care. So I think that that tells, too, that he's so into that game. He's putting 110% in it. Like lady said earlier this week, if the guys are going out there and putting 110% in and they lose, then, okay, I give you credit for playing. The whole team did not. So let me just please let me note that. I'm not saying the whole team went out there and gave 110, but Vargas did. And he's putting his heart and soul into it. And you can tell by his reactions after the game how it was for his age. And like you said, he's not. That where he shouldn't be getting as many minutes as he's been getting. He's been putting in a lot of time and a lot of effort, and it seems to be paying off.
Kara
21:49
And it should be noted that he's right. Now our only youth development player. U 22 Initiative DP. 1s He is 21. And so I think it's okay that he's emotional after the match. I think they all probably were because this is important to say for this whole match where against Toronto, it felt like we won, how we got a tie. This one felt like we lost, how we got a tie. And so for them, of course they're mad. We're all mad. That's why think why the crowd was upset, too, because it did in some ways feel like a loss. It
Bridget
22:26
was. On that note, we're going to my next
Kara
22:29
wrath. My next wrath is Enzo. I'm going to go ahead because I put Enzo with Vargas. Because I thought if you put Vargas out there and you put Mora out there because those three seem to work really well together. They did in preseason anyway. I thought, well, we'll see something within the first 30 seconds of the game. Enzo is on the ground, flopping around. Now I don't know if he got really hurt. I don't know what happened because I was watching the ball and the ball was nowhere where Enzo was. And we're all like, what in the world is he doing already? Like all freaking ready. We're on the ground. I don't know. I've given Enzo my wrath a couple times, but at this point, I'm tired of giving them dude grace. We went down there and we paid lots of money for him.
Bridget
23:12
He comes back up here and he's shown me nothing. Nothing. And he was getting the ball last night, but every time he gets the ball, he backs up towards the goal. He likes to back into the people. He's like, why does he
Kara
23:23
go backward? You know what I'm saying? He turns his back and he goes backwards. I've never known in my life knowing to play soccer backwards, to get to the goal, like, what in the world? I don't know. Maybe that's a different style from R and and Tina. I was all about Enzo coming. I really was. I was worried that he was going to just have it be a hot, like, hot head with the team, not get along. But that ain't the problem. The problem is the guy is like the boy that cried wolf. We don't know if you're for real hurt or you're not for real hurt. So I feel like that's why he doesn't get half the calls he should get is because he's on the ground the other half the time when he shouldn't. We know he shouldn't get it. And then lady, in his interview last night was like, I thought Enzo was doing better. Right? No, 1s I don't know. No. What you're looking at, laddie? He's not getting better. I mean, no, he didn't get a yellow card last night. All
Bridget
24:16
we're doing is waiting on him to get another yellow card. So he sits out. He's played 90 minutes for eight games. How many goals does he have? Two. How many shots on target does he have?
Kara
24:24
Well, I'm not looking at the whole thing of the season. You didn't tell me how the I'm just
Bridget
24:27
telling you it's not a lot. I could probably put it on my hand. One hand. One hand. So I'm just saying out of eight games, we haven't seen anything. So stop telling me that it's because he's not getting a chance at the ball. Maybe he's not, but every time I see him get a chance at the ball, he's going backwards. He can't pass worth crap. I just don't see what latangio and them seeing him and if he's not performing, just hit him. Why can't we sub him? Is it in his contract that he's not allowed to be subbed? Because I don't know. I don't know if they're worried that he's going to get an attitude, but if you cannot play Shinoshiki or Santos, then you for sure as heck cannot play Capeti and you set Carol a game, too. So let's just start sitting them. But I don't think they're going to sit him. I think they're literally waiting on him to get the next yellow so that they don't have to be the bad guys.
Kara
25:13
So I'm going to take some of your because I think you are points out some of the same things that the fans are pointing out. Right. They have not been very happy with Enzo and in some ways I can see that this is a little bit deserved, especially with previously. I don't necessarily he think that he deserves it, this game. It's important to note that at the very beginning where he's rolling around right, we see that part, but we don't see what happened. None of the replays catch it either. But it does, like, zoom in a little bit and was telling you I thought he got scratched or something. I thought he got elbowed and scratched at the same time. And that's what he was pointing out. Like, hey, this person is being physical so much that I'm getting. 1s Potentially bleeding, but I have no idea. I do not know the standards, but there's something there. You had said you thought he
Bridget
26:01
was getting a bandaid. Bring me a boo boo. Let me have a bandaid. I wonder if his little bandaid has got those little trains on it or something. Anyway, go ahead. One of his wrists, it looks like his right arm, right wrist is wrapped. The other one, the wrist is wrapped, but not the full hand. The right full hand is pretty much wrapped. But this is on his left arm from scratch, is what I thought it might have been. But anyway, it's nice that he does draw the yellow card for Colorado. I don't think he had as bad of a game this time. I think when he was talking to the refs, there's like two points where he's like, hey, I think he is gaining that reputation of he hasn't been here long enough. He hasn't done enough terrible things to me to warrant not getting some of the calls that he should get. He is getting held. He's such a physical player.
Kara
26:52
And some of those times, they do think he goes down easier than he should. 2s Some of these things, this is just who he is. But I don't think to me, he's not like what I said before. I don't think he's bringing the team down in these moments. And that's where I see it as a detriment.
Bridget
27:12
You don't think the players are getting frustrated with that?
Kara
27:14
When he goes down that 1st 30 seconds, what feels like you see Adil go, hey, come out here. Because he sees an injury on him, and that's what made me go, okay, well, they're not faking it because he's asking for some sort of care. So, no, I don't think so in this moment. And I think he maybe has, like, one other one where he does a real tumbleweed tumble. But if you remember, like, Carol used to do those, too, and not all of them weren't warranted. Some of the ones were like, oh, Carol got fouled. Get him. And so I think Enzo is, too. But Enzo's momentum is so much more than Carol's because he is so strong and built. And that's why you see him, like, if you notice the goal that gets passed off to Vargas from Swedesky. 1s Copetti is protecting that pass. He is like the lineman right there. He's doing somewhat of an American football e job. In some of these, he is literally holding back the play.
Bridget
28:20
Oh, yeah, he definitely does
Kara
28:22
that. But in some of these cases, he is getting tripped, he is getting held, he's holding. I mean, not in a bad way, I don't think, but he is such a more physical player. So what we're expecting is different because Rios was not that type of player in the same manner that Copetti is. I don't see this game enough for me to say, oh, he's playing badly. I do think some of the things that go into him, like he's not getting the right passes sometimes he is trying to protect the ball. When he gets one, he has one key pass in. He does hand it off stupidly a few times, which
Bridget
29:01
that's what I'm saying. Shouldn't he be superstar?
Kara
29:03
But Carol is doing the same thing. A lot of them were doing that up there.
Bridget
29:07
My whole thing is, though, if you are supposed to be our scorer and our striker and our shooter, then I'd be darn, shoot the ball. You know what I'm saying? Shoot that. Well, they did. They shot it 17 times and only three on target, but still do better.
Kara
29:20
He's supposed to be our tank and he didn't have as good of a game last night with like aerial duels, which
Bridget
29:25
is the last couple of times. Never
Kara
29:27
very good at that. That's not true. He does sometimes. Last week he did, but this game he just didn't. He had taller guys with him andor was holding him down. I still think
Bridget
29:36
he can be benched. I mean, not benched for the whole game, but I still don't think there's a reason that he can't sit if he's not performing, let him sit and put Mellow in. I like sub Mellow in for him. I don't understand why he can't be subbed. If you can sub Carol, then you can sub Enzo because Enzo is not contributing that much. I
Kara
29:55
disagree with you 1s anyway. To me, it's more like lady isn't going to do that until he sees more. There's no need at this point to put Mallow in. 1s Until he sees him not playing like he wants to, he's not going to put Mellow in.
Bridget
30:11
He sees nothing wrong with Enzo right now, so we just need to get that clear.
Kara
30:15
I don't know about anything, but I think the same brush or feathering Enzo with can be said of any offense that we had. I do think he has a chronic problem with giving things away and not protecting the ball in possession. I definitely think that now whether that's because he's his momentum and he's pushing and then it just kind of falls behind him and someone else comes to clean it up, that can be said, too, but that is something he does need to work on. But Carol had some of the same silly giveaways.
Bridget
30:47
Carol did act a fool last year, too, and was all stupid for a while. Remember, we all were like, Carol, stop this. Get over it. And he did figure it out eventually.
Kara
30:55
He also drew some really good calls. He had some fouls on him that he finally I mean, like, he would roll. And he did get hurt a few times. And I think that's just part of the momentum, part of the drive.
Bridget
31:09
We don't know when he's being for real. That's the thing. You don't know if he's being for real on the ground or he's doing it
Kara
31:13
less. If you count it, he is doing it less.
Bridget
31:17
Okay, well, do it lesser. All right. You got any another favor so we can get off the negatives?
Kara
31:23
Yeah. You're going to hate me for this, but I'm going to go with Carol
Bridget
31:27
anyways. I see that we're like the Yang and Yang today.
Kara
31:32
So when I was looking at the stats, of course, because it looked like Carol got both assists today, one of them looks like it's a pass over to Vargas, and Vargas beautifully shoots it in. And then the other one is he goes almost to the edge of the goal line and passes it back up for USBX header. And it's just lovely. Both of those plays were just so pretty to watch. Great football. He has successful dribble. He has a successful cross. He has two passes into the final third. He wasn't winning as many ground duels and aerial duels. I think there is some difference there for how he played in the midfield that I think you could bring up. But I didn't think he had a bad game. I thought he had a pretty good game. Yes. Could he be better? Yes. I think there was definitely some things where he missed it. And he made some silly passes. There's one of them where it's just like, oh, if you'd have done that two steps ago, you could have gotten it to Vargas, and we could have had something really nice, but it gets intercepted by Colorado Rapids. There were moments again where I think we were shaky. We were not solid in the attack or in the handoff in the passing, and it affects him, too. But I thought he had good game, and I can't fault him for really how he played. If we'd have gotten less giveaways, I'd have been happier overall with the performance of the team as a whole, I think that, to me, is more of a team problem than just a Carol problem. And I think part of it, too, was he was trying to keep possession of it from the other team in an area in our side of the pitch where he was like, I know it's my job to keep this ball. I do not want to do something stupid and hand it away in our side. So I would rather hand it away in their side, because remember that one, the beginning of this season, where he turns around and hands it off to a Red Bulls player, right? Wasn't it? Red Bulls? No. New England. I'm so sorry.
Bridget
33:31
New England. Yeah.
Kara
33:33
Because he thinks too fast. So in that transition, he was noticing that. I also really liked I told you this earlier I think part of the mission that Latanzio was telling him is that he wanted to see better leadership and that it's up to Carol to be commanding the defense, the defense as a whole in the defensive play. I don't mean just the back line. I mean in defensive play from the other team entirely, he needs to command that from the front. So he needs to be the one directing people. And I saw that communication out of him. Now I'm happy to see more. I still want more. I think he can bring more to this. But I was overall happy with how that went. I thought that was a different it felt like a different team in this, even though we didn't get the results.
Bridget
34:19
So here's the thing. Does he know how to play winger, or does he know how to play can?
Kara
34:24
Carol is normally a second
Bridget
34:26
striker. Like, beside Enzo,
Kara
34:28
he's better off to the behind, to a side behind Enzo. 1s And he is learning Cam from last year. Cam is what he played towards the end of last year where we were being very dynamic and actually winning games beautifully.
Bridget
34:45
Okay, so that's what Latanzi is trying to do is put him back there. Yes. I'm just wondering because everybody's yelling, put Carol somewhere else. So I'm trying to figure out where we're not putting Carol. They want him to
Kara
34:55
be that second striker behind Enzo in like a four, four
Bridget
34:58
two. That's the thing with Carol is he's also trying to find his groove this year because he's not found it. It took him a while last year to find his groove, too. I don't know if that's just something that happens. I think that he's trying to find it and I just guess I expect more out of him being that he's the DP, just like I expected out of Enzo because we're paying these guys the most money on the team. So my expectation to you is that you are the best two dudes on the team and I just am not seeing them perform at the level that I would think that they should perform at. That's all. I mean, not that he did anything. I don't think he did anything. He didn't back past it into the goal or any of that myth. It's just if we're paying these guys that much money to be our star players, then I'm going to need you to step up and be the star players and make it happen.
Kara
35:44
And I think that's where you're noticing the absence of Westwood because Enzo Capeti does better with the little bit through balls, through the defense to be able to score those. I think that's part of the thing. You also saw that he didn't get as many long balls, the long balls to him that people were trying to make pass through. 2s Overshot,
Bridget
36:04
way overshot
Kara
36:05
him. Yeah. So I think that's part of the missing some of those is that he didn't have the right opportunities. He didn't have the right feeder to him. And I think Carol was trying. I like the Carol we've seen the last two games. I thought last time ever since Poland, he got the goal for Poland, he got the goal last week, I saw this momentum build, so I'm hopeful that it will continue to build for him because I like the Carol that we see when he is on his form and when he is making things happen.
Bridget
36:38
Let's hope he gets back quicker than he did last year.
Kara
36:41
Well, to be fair, everyone pulled the rug out from him last year. So I don't know that you could give him too much fault in half of those instances. So what I'm saying is the pieces here are still there to support him, and that's really what we need to keep happening. So who's your next wrath, Latanzio? I'm going to go after Lady Daddy today. I'm not even calling him lady daddy. He don't even deserve that name at this point because if my dad was over this, he would have ripped out everybody all that game and beat him. I mean, he would have just gave us he'd have raised crap. And even my kid on the way home last night was like, tango needs to be meaner. He needs to be meaner. And we don't know. I don't know. He talks about in his interview that he's Italian and he gets all angry, but I don't see that. I don't see it. He don't get it on field. I don't see it. All the Italians I know lose their mind, turn red, I mean, whatever, but he's all make excuses for these guys or whatever. And my thing with him is I've been fighting all week and the thing has been going on all week where everybody's been like, fire lady after last week's game, and I've been the one that's the lady stand. And I'm like, no, it's not Latondia's fault. Like, some of it is, but then you've got to have players that want to play, and I still believe that. I don't think that this week was Latonia's fault necessarily, but at some point you need to hold the fire to these guys. I get like, he's all like, oh, they're new. These guys are new. They need to make mistakes. They need to learn. And trust me, I love that part of it. I think that we all should have grace for people. But I'm not coming to an MLS game where I spent that much money on season tickets to watch people out there just learning. I go on Saturdays and watch my daughter, and on Tuesdays, Thursday nights, I'm watching my daughter to learn. Like I'm watching her learn. A ten year old. I don't want to go out there and watch a 21 year old learn. And I know we need to do that, but.
Bridget
38:35
At some point, as a manager and as the coach, you need to learn that you can't be putting out all your little kids out there at one time. He's lost me. He's lost me. At this point. I'm not saying fire I'm not on the fire lighty train right now, but I'm on the lottie is on the hot seat train because it seems like he's coming up with every excuse he can come up with. And to say I need to take a lot of self reflection and I need to tell these guys to play. Like, get out there and freaking play.
Kara
39:02
Oh, Bill, he's only been around a couple of weeks from the preseason and he's got to learn. And Milan does new and he needs to learn, too. And if he doesn't stop talking about Carujo and Westwood and Kalina, it's going to make mad because those three guys are not on the field. They are not. And I know we need leadership and I get it, but stop it. They're not on the field. So why don't we talk about the guys on the field? And in his press conference last night, he wouldn't talk about two of the players we asked about because they're not on the 20 man roster, but yet we brought up Westwood, Kalina, and Karujo in the very first sentence that he says, so lady needs to stop it. He needs to do a little self reflection, needs to do something because whatever he's doing is not working. It's just not working. And I'm
Bridget
39:49
still backing him, but I'm going to need to see him dig deep. If we want the guys to dig deep, then lady needs to dig deep.
Kara
39:56
If George hadn't made that mistake and we won the game, would you still be ranting for Latanzio.
Bridget
40:01
Well, I would have to hear his interview because I was already mad. I was angry after they scored the first goal. Okay. And then 1s I thought that he needed a sub at, like, the 60 Minutes, right? And he does doesn't sub. And that's one of my problems with him. When he does sub, we're all like, you suck. Whoever you're replacing sucks is really bad. But he gives these guys too much time to figure it out, and I get it. He's wanting these guys to figure it out on their own and do it. But you're the coach and.
Kara
40:32
I don't want to be sitting at that game holding my breath the entire freaking game. Even when we're up to one. I wasn't going home thinking we won that game. I was holding my breath. Why do I need to hold my breath, right? You're the coach, coach. And stop coming up with excuses. I get it. I still think the guy's going to play better. And if you have the guys playing for you as a coach, then it makes your job easier. But, like, someone told me, if those guys aren't playing on the field, whose fault is that? Where does the buck stop? It stops with laddie. So stop going on these press conferences like you're just, oh, everything's great. Guys play awesome score, just didn't work out for me. Shut up. Tell me the truth. Just be honest with me. That's all I want. Can he not do that? Is he not allowed to be mean? I mean, I guess that's what got Mar fired was he said we 1s was very vocal and was, like, honest, but he won't even talk negatively about anybody. I know you don't want to dog a player, but come on,
Bridget
41:34
just be transparent. I don't know. I mean, if we'd have won, I guess I might not be as mad, but we didn't we didn't win, so that's a mute point. No,
Kara
41:46
but you saw us concede a goal and then we did not give up. We turned around and got two goals within two minutes. And then we gave up. We didn't give up. We stopped the bus. He had already pulled some people for the substitutions. So what happens there is he doesn't have sandos and shiny. He thinks this game is potentially too close. Mora gets hurt, and so therefore, he has to compromise his substitutions there as well. And so I think he thought Carol was doing well. I think he pulls in Burn because Burn is also kind of an offensive defender, right? 1s And I couldn't tell you why, but he doesn't have a backup cam without Carol. Bender hasn't really played cam by himself, and he puts Bender in at that position. Bender does not track back enough offensively, and he also doesn't command leadership. So I think part of the reason why he does that is because Byrne gives better leadership on the field, and so that's what he compromises Spiderski's leadership abilities for. I think that's why he puts in Burn morta. He has to take Morta out for Lindsay. And so I think he made that call out of necessity, of course, which we all understood would happen. And
Bridget
43:02
there's no problem with Lindsay in Lindsay's been okay other than last week when he let the goal in. We all make mistakes. So Lindsay, that wasn't a problem. But my thing is he stopped. Like you said, you taste me. You were like I was like, what in the world? We're doing burn for Carol. It doesn't make any sense. And you're he's stopping the bus. He's, like, hitting the brakes, and I'm tired of that. I'm tired of that mess. But tactically
Kara
43:23
speaking, he doesn't have his backup cams in this match. He doesn't have it. He doesn't have Westwood, who act as a backup cam. He doesn't have Shiny act as a backup cam. He doesn't have Nuno act as a backup cam.
Bridget
43:35
Right. But he didn't put Shiny or Santos on the bench. So that's his own fault for doing that. He set himself up for failure. We don't know what circumstance as that was. So he is playing with the men that he had making the best decisions that he had able to make in that game. And yes. 1s We don't know why he made those things to begin with at the forefront. So we can't speculate there. We can only say at the match, this is what he had with him to be able to make. Now I think he does make the right call for that midfield group, and they get a half favor for me because I think bronco and Jones, that pairing is so much better. Bronco had a better game. I liked what I saw from him there. I liked that we had Jones in the middle. Oh my gosh, I think I had jones does get that yellow card, but I don't think 1s it's not enough of one to really make much of a difference. It was weird. It was like the announcers couldn't even say why he got that yellow. But overall, his ability to protect that ball, there was one point where I think it was willie p says, like, he was playing ring around the rosy. Yeah, he
Kara
44:43
was just protecting the ball. And that's what some of the things that I think are so important. So if you look at jones and broncos stats for this game, possession lost here, four and three. That's great. That is the stability that we have been wanting in the midfield and if that which works so well at the end of last year. So I don't think your wrath here against laddie is uncalled for in some ways, because this is the pairing that we wanted from the beginning. However, he was trying to slot in Westwood, which destabilized things. So I think he was trying to see how that would work. And it didn't work right, but this is working right.
Bridget
45:22
I'm not mad at him for making the changes that he made. People get mad at him because they're like, he's going to play. He's going to do the same thing every week. He's not doing the same thing every week. Like, I will be the first to tell you, he is literally changing the lineup, but it's little teeny, tiny pieces every week. He's changing little things to as circumstances happen and things happen, he's changing it. I just think that I blame the players, don't get me wrong. But at some point 1s as a coach, you've got to get these guys to listen to you put the fear of god in them and make them play. 1s I just find that he doesn't have he's such a loudy dairy that he's not putting the fear of god in these players. 1s Some people feed off that. Some players, they want to coach things after you all the time. That gets you. That gets you. That gets you and puts that pressure on you. And I'm at the point where I'm thinking, lady is too nice.
Kara
46:17
Okay. So you've also got to consider, okay. 1s If we had had Mar this time right now okay. And had Mar through the loss of walks. Are you kidding me? Oh, no. I do not think this would be the same thing. So I think mental health and stability wise, I think Latanzio is the best thing for this team right now, especially with the attitude he takes toward his players.
Bridget
46:43
Right. He's a good manager. Well but
Kara
46:45
he's also protective of them, and I think he wants to see the best out of them, and they know when they've disappointed dad.
Bridget
46:51
Oh, for sure. Marks wouldn't even look at him last night. Like, after the game, Marks wouldn't even, like not in a bad way. You know what I mean? But it was like, I don't even want him. I can't, because I feel like Mark thought he let him down in the way Lottie said it kind of did. Right. I'm kind of not happy the way that Lottie addressed that. But you said it was different than how took it, and I don't think taking it the way because I like Marks, but you're right. He protects these guys away. Too much call. He won't talk bad about anybody. That's part of his
Kara
47:19
job, though. He's not out there to come out and come attack some player in the media. It's his job to address it in the
Bridget
47:27
he's
Kara
47:27
got to be in the locker room and at the practice. He can make them practice things. It's up to them to put it into execution. And I think that's part of the thing, is he's like, okay, I'm going to give you the respect to try and do this some of this here, because he's trying to back up the promises that he's making. And this is his first time head coaching, so this is the first time. He's also learning the nuances of the calls he's making and what he's putting into practice with what the results that are coming out. I think we did expect so much different because we were so, so great at the end of last year.
Bridget
48:02
Right. We just expected to roll it over.
Kara
48:05
Yes. We did not expect him to go and reevaluate things with the new position.
Bridget
48:12
We didn't expect him to go and change everything up and make new lineups and act like he was really a coach. Come on, bro. You're just really just supposed to hang on and be that interim coach that just keeps on doing what we was doing. Don't be trying to be nothing fancy. I'm being facetious. I think
Kara
48:26
he's just being conservative in a way that we're not used to. Right. Some of his calls here again, sometimes we've disagreed on where substitutions have come in and things like that, especially with some of the timing that's already been in motion that he can't stop. I think there's realities here. I thought he had a good game yesterday. I think the same things that he was disappointed for and I think he was barely concealed anger. Almost like something them. 1s He was upset last night. Oh, he was
Bridget
48:55
definitely different last night.
Kara
48:56
I think he's having those conversations with them. And maybe that's all of them together that they have to generate, like losses are going to happen. You have to let them generate results for the next time. And I think some of that with you pointed out, Kerwin, some of these things, I think that is feeding that. So the fact that we didn't get a loss yay. But we also tried to pull out we tried to pull out the momentum to get another result after that 90 minutes. Right. I don't like that he parked the bus. I think he was trying to put burn in there to give the leadership stability wise. And there could be argument there. He didn't put in enough momentum, but I think he also got he was like, okay, Vargas and USBAC have the enough momentum to keep going forward and I'm going to let them stay there. So I think in those two cases, he was like, all right, let's see what else they can provide here with the momentum they've already been given. But Colorado was just having a little bit too much and we knew they were going to come back. Right? Yeah. They're going to try and push momentum their way. And there's one point where after that second goal happens where the side ref. 1s Calls the ball out on Lindsay and even the lady announcers, which, by the way, really liked them on the TV this time on my rewatch. So kudos to them. I thought that was a great call. It was really hard to listen to it super fast, but they're like, I don't think that ball actually went fully out and he wasn't watching the ball multiple times. His weird calls, he was just like, dopey doe, not really
Bridget
50:29
looking. We would sometimes take him like 10 seconds to make the call, you know what I mean? Every minute. And he'd be like, which way should I tell him? I got one more wrath in me, but I'm going to let you do a favor first. Do you have any more favors so that we can get off some of the Nick chief
Kara
50:42
why kind of favored in this little bit. I favored the midfield, but I do have one more at the end. So you go with your wrath, bill and
Bridget
50:49
Burn, because I don't like either one of them particularly. They're not my favorite, but
Kara
50:54
they're good guys.
Bridget
50:55
Guess I'm sure that in real life, me and them could sit down and have a great time together. I like hearing burn talk. He's got that voice. I love the accent. So I don't hate him, but they're not my favorite defensive players. Let's go with that. Okay, so Bill I don't understand why we still have Bill starting. 1s I get why we have them because we have nobody else to put on there. Because SoBo is out here playing with the legacy. But whatever. Bill, though, has made so many mistakes. Bill was supposed to be our pro, right? Bill is supposed to be one of them experienced players that Latonjo keeps talking about,
Kara
51:28
right? You can't ask me this is cheating.
Bridget
51:31
Is Bill supposed to be an expert player? Let's just say in your mind, I
Kara
51:35
can't talk about this because I'm in disagreement over your raft, but keep going. But
Bridget
51:40
still, the whole point was Bill is supposed to be one of our experienced players. Right. That's why we went and got him. Because we're going to get a guy to replace Wallace super quick that knows what they're doing. Yes. And we don't have time to build this back line, but we're going to grab this guy because he knows what he's doing. So we're in eight games and he's out. Was he out one or two? I don't remember how many was hurt?
Kara
52:00
At least two. Two to three. I thought so. For every game he's been in he's made mistakes that have literally left our goalkeeper open. Like huge mistakes. I'm not talking about TT tiny, I missed the ball. I'm talking about run over our other CB. Just tripping in the middle of a play, totally head your own ball in. Not headed in, he just kicked it in his own goal. Then you have he's just missing these places and leaving George to dry and burn ain't any better. And whatever. I said, bring him in, we bring him in and burn. 2s I don't even know what he did. I don't even know if he was out there. But from my angle so we have these defensive line that's supposed to be experienced and these two players and neither one of them are showing me the experience that they should have is my expectation. Maybe it's me. I'm the problem. It's me. My expectation
Bridget
52:56
of these guys is way too high. Like, I expect Enzo and Carol to perform at the level that we pay them. I expect Bill and Byrne to perform at the level that we brought them on at. Is that too much to ask? That's all I want. That's all I
Kara
53:10
want. I think you're saying exactly what the general fans will say, but in this one with Bill, I still think if he cheats up to try and get that and he does miss, you're going to miss sometimes. But he doesn't make an egregious mistake here. I think he does try and cover that second one. He just doesn't go fast enough. And if you can't blame to me they all stop in that moment. And Byrne wasn't even on the field for most of the time. So he can only be in the thing for the second goal and I don't think that second goal is anywhere near his fault. 1s But the first goal, he does cheat forward. And again, I think it was the two midfielders who did not backfill him when they should have in that moment, because I think Ideal was watching another player. I do think they got caught, but I also think they were trying to get them offside. And that's your job to do. And Bill is supposed to be the experience there in that moment to try and make that offside line happen. So he probably said, hey, you all stay here. I think you might be pointing some things out in that one. But I think for the most part, I think Moore didn't necessarily have a bad game. I think Harry did not have a good game. So in some of the things that you're more mad at them, I think that needs to probably be more directed on Harry this game. Harry, you're going to get my raft, too? Let's just give all my favorites from last week a raft. I mean, I did see a fool make some mistakes last night as well. I did and all that, but I'm just saying Bill caught my eye. He plays 90 minutes a game, okay? So he's going to catch my eye and then we put burn in. And if you're going to come in, I need you to perform and do something. But you come in and they score. So I am just flabbergasted at this point and I'm mad at the team at the front office because you knew we didn't have CB. You've known we hadn't had a CB since last year, and you aren't doing anything to do nothing about it. You're just going to let us struggle, bust it, to keep struggle, busting it until Carujo comes back. Is that right? No, it's not fair. It's not fair to Melanda, it's not fair to Bill. It's not fair to any of these other guys that we're just going to just let you all struggle, bust it and hope to God that we can figure it out
Bridget
55:27
or we'll just hold our breath till Carujo comes back. I think
Kara
55:30
it's just a vacuum of leadership. I think that a lot of the things you're seeing and Latanzio is trying to point it out and he's saying, look, I know we have this vacuum of leadership, but you can't just be dependent on these. You have to step up in there and be passionate and lead. Yeah, you have to bring this energy. You can't be the one trying to depend on everyone else to bring the energy. This is collective. This is on the team. And some of these guys are too young to be doing this anyway. Not that they're not good where they are, but they are dependent upon these more experienced players to bring some of that other leadership. And when some of them aren't having a good game, it's harder. Like, I don't think Harry had a good enough game yesterday to make some of that, and I think some of the times he got beat, but we know he's going to get beat. We know he's older and on some of these things where he's playing young guys, he's going to be slower. He
Bridget
56:19
shouldn't be playing every game.
Kara
56:20
That's because we don't have anybody else. We need to be going out there and getting that left back. I still think, but I don't know that that's going to happen without selling a player.
Bridget
56:28
Yeah, but they're waiting on Adam armor, I think, on the left back side. I really think that's what is making me mad. We're just banking on let's just wait. We're going to hold off and wait. We're going to hold off and wait. We're going to hold off and wait. And I get
Kara
56:40
it. It's probably also dealing with the reserves that
Bridget
56:42
we have. Maybe I'm too harsh on all the players, because I expect more out of you. On that note, Mora did good
Kara
56:48
yesterday. He didn't do great. He did okay. He got two really hard tackles, and I really hope he's okay because we don't need another injury in the back line. Honestly, we do not.
Bridget
57:01
Definitely don't. He's very aggressive when he plays. He's a very aggressive player.
Kara
57:06
Are you ready for my last favor? Yeah. Okay. My last favor is for Camille Yusuiak. Oh, I'll
Bridget
57:13
agree with you on that one. He had a good game. He was very aggressive, and I like that about
Kara
57:17
him. Listen to these statistics. 1s Of course, he had one goal, which is so pretty. I'd watch that again. I think he's tried that a few times and it hasn't worked out. So the fact that this time it happened from our pair of Polish princes so
Bridget
57:31
pretty. I think it was a couple of weeks ago, everybody was talking about how Camille was awful because he hadn't scored yet and he hadn't scored yet. And then ever since that conversation, matt Barbies went down. I know you're excited. Camille has actually scored each game since then. Take note. And I spoke to him Friday night, so I think I gave him some little good luck
Kara
57:48
charms.
Bridget
57:49
I'm definitely not the good luck. Please don't say that. I
Kara
57:52
think he's grown in confidence. I think that goal gave him something that he was like, okay, I can do it, and I can show people, and let me show so if this is the season of Camille Yusuiak, I'm here for it. He had very good, accurate passes. He has 90% of accurate passes, which our whole team did not do that great on that didn't do terrible. But some people were definitely bringing it down, and he is not one of them. He had five key passes. His crosses weren't that great, but that's okay. He had one shot on target, two shots off target. He had three successful dribble attempts, three out of three. He won some ground duels and an aerial duel. He didn't lose possession too much. He had some clearances, some interception. We already know he was very solid on defense, and I think that's one of the things that they saw. And he would be proud of how he played in defense. But I think you also saw it here. It's balancing his offense now, and he's turning out to be a
Bridget
58:46
threat. Carol and Camille play really well together. It is what it is. It's just like Derek Jones and Bronco being out there together. They should be able to play without each other because that's what they should be able to do.
Kara
58:59
But you have your chemistry. You have the way you're going to go. You have it. And Camille, when Camille and Carol are on together, 1s those two are a force. I mean, that's why they call them the Polish duo, the Polish powerhouse or whatever. Their nickname is because they feed off each other. I feel like they feed off each other. And with Camille doing better, that's elevating Carol to want to even help him do better. You know what I'm saying? I feel like they have that brotherhood, like they were both out there to see SoBo. On Friday night, and it's just nice to see that they support each other like that. And I think that that's helping Camille get more confidence is because he's got Carol there saying, okay, I've been through it. Let's go. Which. It's the same way with Carol last year. Once he got over that hump of not getting that score, then we started seeing more out of him. Don't bring you on up. We don't need him, though. I can take just Camille and Carol together. Yeah. No, I agree.
Bridget
59:55
I think Camille did really good, though. I really do. I think he's showing that he's somebody. And that's the thing is everybody might not like how he performs every week or what. Some of us have preferences, but that guy guy wants the team to win and he puts everything he's got into that game. We don't have a lot of players that do that, so I'm going to appreciate the ones that
Kara
60:17
do. So on this note, I think we're finished with our pretty much wrap up of Colorado Rapids. We're ready to move on. We play Columbus crew next weekend. And it's important to note that Columbus crew had a recent one to one draw against the New England Revolution, which we also had a one to one draw and they scored. Columbus crew scored in the which we do not like to see. So I think it was already an extra time that they got that. I think this is going to be a match to watch. So I really hope we have some injury recoveries this week. We need some stability.
Bridget
60:55
We need something, some consistency, something that 2s we're really lacking. We need something. But Columbus cruise tough. I feel like a lot of people say that Atlanta is our rivalry, but maybe it's because my daughter's father is from Ohio so I'm anti Ohio a lot. I mean, I'm Carolina Fan and they are Ohio State. Not like I'm anti Ohio, I like Ohio people. Columbus crew to me seems more of like a rivalry. We want to beat these guys or I do. So I know it's going to be a tougher game than last Saturday, but I really hope that somehow we can pull it off and not get a tie but get a win. I really hope we
Kara
61:37
can. Yeah. So it's important to note that Columbus crew is number four in the east and New England is number one. And they just did a draw. And we had gotten a draw with New England to begin with, but it was really interesting because New England was able to eke out this tie despite being a man down, because Barrero got a red card or two yellows to make a red pretty quick. And then Columbus didn't really make that goal until it says 98.
Bridget
62:09
Yeah, but that's our nemesis. I mean, anyone's going to score on us, it's going to be after the freaking ninety th minute.
Kara
62:14
Oh, I have one raff and this is going to hurt. It is for our darling Willie P of WFNZ. Because at the 83rd minute or 84th right around there, he was like, oh, Charlotte, haven't had a home win in this stadium and I was like, Willie P. You're not allowed to be saying this until after that ninety th minute, sir. And so I feel like I was like, oh, don't. And that was a reason to begin with. I was like, I'm not going to say that George hasn't had very many shots on him at the very beginning because. I want to drink nothing. So I just shut up. So I feel like something about that little bit of drink. So we just need next week about our any wins or no wins or no nothings. Let's not talk about it until it's over and done and then talk about it all you want. On that note, before we wrap it up, I just want to say the fans last night were kind of great to a certain extent. Everyone in the whole stadium did the Peppers, which is kind of neat because it used to be just where, like, fan section did it. But at the beginning, I noticed this time the entire stadium does the Peppers now. So it's really neat that the whole entire stadium is getting into it. I think that's awesome. I was kind of afraid going into game last night that people were going to have a negative attitude towards the team when they came out because of some of the talk on Twitter this week how we were going to boo the team when they came out to warm up, or how we were going to act or be stupid. But when we got there last night, it was like electrifying. Everybody was excited. Everybody was super awesome fans. I think the only problem that I had was I love the beer showers. Okay? I'm here for it. I don't sit in the section, but my section has now participated in beer showers. We are, I think, all doing that because we were just excited. We scored. If you're going to participate in the beer shower, do not throw the beer can, okay? There was couple of people in our section that had the beer cans thrown at them or not thrown at them, but you get excited and beer on you is a totally different story. I'm sure a lot of kids parents don't want their kids being showered in beer, which is why we're not in the sports section, which is fine, we'll get over that. But if a full can of beer comes down and hits someone in the back of the head and I'm watching it happen, I have a problem with that. So as fans, let's do better on that end. Okay, I get it. No one wants to get thrown out of the game because they did come and take the two little kids. There were two young boys. I think they just got excited. You know what I'm saying? They took them out. If that happens to you, you get your ticket taken, your season ticket taken away, or your access to the games taken away. So we don't want that. But we also want safety, too. So be excited. Throw
Bridget
64:42
your beers. If you want to throw your beers, do what you want to do, but just be respectful of other people and do not throw beer cans because that will hurt someone. This one ended up nailing someone in the back of the head. That's all I have for the fans. But they did a wonderful job. Other than that, I love that. Mr. I was really, really worried now, the booing at the end, I was hoping I was booing the other team. I know they probably weren't, but anyway, that's all I have.
Kara
65:04
Well, thank you all for listening. Thank you. And we hope you have a great week and we will join you next week after Columbus
Bridget
65:11
crew. Have a good week. Be safe.
