Do you see connections everywhere you look? Are you wondering about the great awakening and how it will affect you? Thanks for joining me, Anne Corbin and my guests. As we offer you different perspectives and analyses of current issues, together with advice on health, wealth, and relationships, as we navigate those storms together, not forgetting the systems available to us from metaphysics Anne our own higher selves.

In a recent podcast I delivered about Cecil John Rhodes, I mentioned that Rhodes's original inspiration for his life's work. Came from a lecture given by John Ruskin on the subject of Plato's Republic. And I wasn't intentionally looking up Greek philosopher or anything of that nature. I was still reading about CBDCs, actually, as discussed last week. And I came across an online reference by Ian Davis to the Parasite class, which was a new term on me.

So since it was hyperlinked, I clicked on the link and bingo, or should I say gestalt, there was this interesting discussion on Plato, Aristotle, who was Plato's student, of course, and the many philosophers who have built on their theories. To an extent, it even tied in with Mindbody Spirit, as a tripartate. Only Plato believed that the 3 aspects of men were appetite, reason, and spirit, and that the 3 together comprised the soul or psyche.

The 3 aspects are in constant flux, and so, therefore, is society. Plato reasoned. It's also split into 3 groups: the artisans, who are the producers the auxiliaries, who are the military, and the guardians who are the rulers. Plato himself was from a powerful and extremely wealthy family. So naturally, since he was a ruler or Guardian, he thought that his class should get the best education, the best training, and of Corbin, the best opportunity.

The modern theory grounded in this thinking is elite theory. Now there's a surprise, But if Plato's concept of society was a more or less equal split into the 3 groups, there's a huge divergence here because the elite class or Guardian class, according to David Rothkop, amounts to only 0 point 000800875 of society. And this is course, considerably less than 1%, but we've always known that 1% is just a convenience figure.

So it wasn't Aristotle, but a later philosopher who coined the term Parasite class, but way back in about 3 50 BC, Aristotle said there are 2 forms of government, aristocracy, rule of the few, and polity, rule of the many. And from that word polity, of course, we get the modern word politics. Each could govern effectively in the common interest, and both could be perverted by private interest.

A monarchy could degenerate to a tyranny An aristocracy could degenerate to an oligarchy Anne polity, the root of many, could degenerate to a democracy. In Aristotle's time, there wasn't much difference between a democracy and mob rule, apparently. The distribution of wealth and corresponding power is the difference between democracy and oligarchy. Anne oligarchy rules by reason of wealth, and a democracy rules by reason of poverty.

Oh, and I just need to point out that oligarchs are not necessarily Russian. It's just that monarchy is rule by 1 Anne oligarchy is ruled by a few. So now, I think it's time to leave ancient Greece behind and return to the present, with a passing observation that there's nothing new under the sun. The article was really long, and I'm certainly not going to summarize all of it here in case you were becoming concerned.

I mentioned that Plato talked about the 3 aspects of man, and I want to connect this with Mindbody Spirit. It's a very common habit in all disciplines to link 3 connected or descriptive things together, and mine body spirit appears on the surface to be benign Anne to link the physical with the spiritual.

Certainly when I first became interested in energy medicine and related practices, such as breath work, meditation, and yoga, The term mind body spirit was apparently at the forefront and well understood by the thousands of teachers and mentors and practitioners in this space. And of course, anyone inquiring into this sort of personal development.

Not surprisingly, this is where I became aware of Rhonda Burns' famous book The Secret, which came into being in 2006 as the film of the same name was being produced. I read the book actually long before I caught up with film, but I was, of course, aware of the multitude of well known trainers and teachers who took part in the film, and whose careers, no doubt, benefited enormously from the publicity.

I speak of John Di Martini, Bob Proctor, Michael Beckwith, John Asarath, Jack Anne, Joe Vitale, Marie Diamond, dozens of whom are now household names. Manifesting became a household term. Everybody seemed to be speaking about it, and the idea was put forward that With positive thinking, you can achieve anything you want. As you come away from that film, you certainly feel extremely motivated, powerful, even, and raring to go and put it all into Corbin should say put all the theory into practice.

At this point, I'll just say it ain't quite that simple. They left out a few rather critical instructions, and I'm certain this was intentional, but I'll expand on all that soon in a future podcast. For now, I'll just say that there's no denying that it probably got a whole generation interested in so called New Age Thinking. Welcome to my rabbit hole. When you hear the words mind body spirit, what springs to mind first? To me, it was a whole raft of good stuff.

Ernest, high intentioned people, some with beads and sandals, but by no means all, and treats and incantations, crystals, meditation, massages, essential oils, you the sort of thing. I chat regularly over Zoom with numerous international friends in interested in some or all of these. And so far, I haven't detected much affiliation with or object to New Age Philosophy. I haven't been pressing. Conversation's always been light as opposed to in-depth.

I'd suggest that new age is more spoken about in America than here in the UK I may be wrong, but the ladies from the other side of the pond certainly don't tend to bring new age into the conversation. The reason I'm pondering so much on this is that recently, actually more than recently, for nearly a year, I've been giving a great deal of thought to changing my identity and the title of this podcast.

Since I established that for many Mindbody spirit, apparently suggests this new age connection or influence, I'm struggling to get part it. You know there are some things that one scene can't be unseen? I set out the skeleton, so to speak, of the history of New Age Philosophy, where it started, how it's developed, Anne so on. In September last year, you can refer to podcast episode number 41 if you're interested in a refresher.

And even that one refers back to podcast number 23, which is I think from April last year or thereabouts. However, since what I teach is firmly about connecting mind body and spirit, the mind body spirit mentor is really a pretty appropriate name. Anne forget new age. It's got nothing to do with that, and I have nothing to do with the New Age Philosophy, it is so against my beliefs and feelings it's what's put me in a bit of a turmoil, I suppose.

Anne of my mentors suggested that Mindbody Spirit Mentor would be a good title for the book that I'd just written, and I was so easily persuaded, so I've got that. Out there in the ether, as well as the podcast. I chose Mindbody Spirit Connection for the Pod past because I love joining up dots, making connections, drawing conclusions. There's so much going on in today's world. Anne it seems to me that fully half the population just isn't aware.

I believe that many of us no matter what our place in society might be tend to be of the opinion that so called other people have similar levels of knowledge about current affairs as we do ourselves. The everybody knows that syndrome. Only this morning, I was being exhorted by someone in a Telegram group to write to your MP. Via email or Twitter about these matters, quote, unquote, and make your concerns known.

The topic in fact was the 15 Minute City idea, which I'll be discussing again, in an upcoming podcast, but the reasoning was that the so called Westminster bubble, where politicians live pretty well disconnected from ordinary people and ordinary lives Anne what's worse, they're getting their information about what their constituents think or what they're supposed to think, from mainstream media, which as we all know, or should know, is heavily censored.

I can tell you that Telegram post was a real wake up call for me. Back to my deliberations about changing my identity and moving away from the mind body spirit name, the unfortunate truth about this choice is that I knew nothing like enough between the association people make with mind body spirit and new age. Since I've learned so much, about new age, I feel that the my title is tainted, and I'd be interested to know if my listeners feel the same.

My passion was and is for spreading the word about personal development, helping people to awaken spiritually, and gain clarity about themselves and their power. The aspects of personal development that interest me most can be described as the psychological side and the philosophical side. I learned early on as a speaker, that there's already wide interest in psychology. It seems like nearly everyone is aware of NLP. Neurolinguistic programming to some extent.

And also strangely, it has become fashionable to blame all our current woes on our upbringing, if not specifically, on our parents, most of whom were undoubtedly well intentioned. Not all of them, of course, I recognize that. The philosophical side holds less interest, it seems, until I say that this includes spirituality. And then most people will jump back on board with me.

A practice from the east is widely popular Corbin, should I say, the industrialized world, Anne this is very much connected to breathing. I use the energy codes to demonstrate the power of various specific breathing therapies for improving health and, of course, one's mental state. Therefore, the familiar phrase Mindbody spirit still holds quite some appeal. So maybe I'll just change the title of the podcast. I'm working on a rebrand too.

It seems to be quite a good idea to do both together, but it is quite a challenge. So watch this space. Literally, there's a change of image on the way. Maybe a change of name, maybe just for the podcast, maybe for me as well. I'm giving it a lot of thought. Anne I'm just going to close now with that quote that I like so much from Steve Jobs about Connection. You can't connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them looking backwards.

So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well worn path, and that will make all the difference.
