Hi, Anne Corbin, your Mind Body Spirit Mentor. I'm here with this week's episode of the mind body spirit connection. You are a complex being composed of 3 parts, mind, body, and spirit. Just get those 3 parts working together in harmony Anne upscale your life. I'm here to show you Corbin some of the of belly breathing so called, otherwise known as diaphragmatic breathing or even abdominal breathing.
And today, I want to link that up with some other foundational practices in terms of getting your mind, body, and spirit connected to each other. But first, a few words about why this connection should be necessary even. And in fact, you might be thinking, well, aren't they all connected anyway? As in well, my brains in my head, and that's attached to my body. And if my spirit or soul or something wasn't part of the mix, then I'd be dead. Wouldn't I?
Okay. Let's prolong that little joke for a second. We talk about people who are brain dead and still walking around, don't we? And certainly, having no soul is an accusation that's thrown around describing people who are, if not actively cruel, then super cold and logical or quite simply unable to appreciate beauty. What makes us human? I believe this would be self awareness, and the ability to love.
Because love, while That's encompassing all those related characteristics like compassion, Anne, empathy Anne so on. This is what raises us above life forms who apparently are not self aware. Current thinking is that all life forms feel pain in some way, including Anne, Anne maybe even in organic things. But I've known since studying Macbeth at school that there's a particular herb called Mandrake, which cries out that it actually screams when its roots are pulled up out of the soil.
Returning to this need for your mind body spirit connection, where do you imagine your soul to be. What do you imagine it would look like, supposing you could see it? How big do you suppose it is Do you imagine that it's lodged somewhere inside your body? I think that as a small child I was told that my soul was like an invisible candle flame, and I always had the idea that it resided in the general vicinity of my heart, so I suppose I must have been told that as well.
But this kind of thinking is apparently very outdated. I believe now that it's pying my body for a period of time. In other words, rather than I am a body and I have a soul, flip that around and think, I am a soul, and I have a body, which I'm occupying for a length of time. Now for those who may have wondered, how can we be made in god's image when no one has actually seen god? Well, If as the invisible soul were made in god's image, I find that easier to comprehend.
Anne similarly, supposing you don't like the term god Anne you prefer the universe, well, why not? God is everywhere and everything, so Anne. Call him the universe, or the force, may the force be with you, or the all, or all that there is. Or the divine. Whatever works for you, there are plenty of other names as well. For example, Buda Anne all the Hindu names. Forgive me, I'm not going to go into any more detail there, but it's the higher power.
The supreme being the creator, the energy that made you. So you are spirit Anne as spirit, you are occupying this body because you need a physical form to experience life. You are energy. Your body is energy. Well, everything's energy, but what differentiates everything is the speed at which it's vibrating. And in addition, every surrounding it. Most humans can only see the physical body. That's the highly compressed part But our bodies actually extend beyond the so called solid form.
There are 3 invisible shells, if you like, surrounding us referred to as the etheric body, the emotional body, and the mental body. That's enough detail on that topic for now, but in a nutshell, you are a lot bigger than you might have thought. I Anne talk in due course about how breathing in specific way can raise your vibrations Anne get your chakras, which are your power centers, or connected with Anne another. And in all ways, give you an optimized experience here on Earth.
This energy stuff is a huge subject. It isn't enough to think, okay, I get it. That makes sense. I believe and then leave it there. This is what we tend to do. And we use our brain or our intellect to draw conclusions about what we're taught or what we read or see in different places. And because our head tells us something is so, because we formed an opinion after some rational thought, then we might have assume that things will change in our daily life. But why should they?
If you keep doing what you've always done, you keep getting what you've always got. Now embodiment is one of the keys to raising your vibration. So what exactly is embodiment? It means partly getting your body involved. In any new learning or experience. For example, consider various training courses you've taken over time. For how many of them has the learning really stayed with you.
Even though you understood the training at the time, it made Anne you knew what changes you had to make, that was just the intellectual process. Unless you went took action and integrated those teachings in your day to day life, there will have been no change. Anne no possibility of change. A very specific example would be dieting. Every diet involves essentially 3 things. Eat less, move Corbin, and drink more water.
You know that, but your weight isn't going to change just by thinking about it just because you've joined a Diet Club or read a book or bought a calorie controlled eating Anne. There will be no change unless you embrace the thing body and soul. You've got to carry out the plan, change your actions, change your diet, whatever, whatever. Another important aspect of embodiment is feelings. That is recognition of sensations in your body. I'm talking about actual feelings rather than emotions.
You've got an important interview coming up, or you're going on stage, and you're anxious to do well Anne get the new job or new promotion or, make a good impression, whatever. Where in your body are you feeling the sensation that represents what you describe as tenseness, anxiety, nervous, excited, however you're feeling. Yes. I'm talking about butterflies in your stomach, or a bit worse than that, are not in your stomach.
It could be your tense that your throat gets sore, that's what happens to me. The the muscles in my neck tighten up, and it feels like I've got a sore throat, but that kind of a throat is different to the kind of a sore throat that lets me know I'm I'm getting a cold, for example. Maybe you're noticing a dry mouth, or depending on the circumstances, you have a headache or sore shoulders or, long term neck pain, you know the sort of thing.
It could be a pain in your, your lower back, on your hips. If you think about it, you probably know the signs and symptoms that alert you to the fact that something is amiss because your issues show up in your tissues And to be honest, most of us go through life ignoring our body until a particular sense or pain, even, gets so bad that we just can't ignore it anymore. But if we Anne learn to listen to our bodies and address these sensations as soon as we come aware of them.
This is the development embodiment and recognizing how your body feels. Listen to the body. Pains and sensations come from energy that's blocked and can't move where it's supposed to. Until energy flowing freely and uninterrupted in your body Anne actually cycling round and round, up the inside in your life. And then you're not living the best life possible. You're you're disconnected things keep going wrong. You're out of sync with what you want to do.
And as for manifesting, it's just not going to happen. When the mind notices these felt sensations as soon as they begin and acknowledges them, rather than treating the body as a nuisance, or something that just has to be shoved onto the back burner and preferably ignored, Pain happens for a reason. Sensations are what? Proceed pain. You have to pay attention. Don't treat your body like A bit of an elderly car from which obviously, after time, you can't expect peak performance.
Believe me, when you crack that change in attitude, you're onto a winner. I have some diagrams and explanations in video form on my YouTube channel, which is called the Mindbody Spirit Connection, of course. Because I really think that this information is easier to digest when there is some visual backup particularly in terms of how the energy is supposed to flow freely up and down this central which is called the Shashumna. You might have heard that.
It's a Sanskrit word, and it show us from the 7th chakra, which is in the head, consider a whales low hole where the water shoots up, and then it shall as all around 3 60 degrees. And the more force with which you can push that energy up the central channel then the, the better the showering effect is going to be. So there's, just a few short videos there at the moment for interest for backup if you're interested.
I'm also going to be introducing a beta training course soon because this information changes lives, so it changed Anne. I would, I would love to Anne it's, it's very easy to digest anyone can do it. I got seriously interested in energy about 18 years ago, when I hurt my back, I got involved in a really silly injury because of a few moments in attention. And what I'd done actually was sprain my back. But doctors Anne all the sundry professionals that I consulted couldn't tell me that.
I didn't know what was wrong with me, but the pain would not go. My body would not heal I was dependent on pain killers, and I was really worried that I was getting addicted to them. Anne not only that, I was restricted from doing so many things. I had some quite intrusive medical procedures, carried out, which involved, being a day patient in hospital. I had 3 of those, and they would improve things for maybe 3 or 4 weeks.
And I think, oh, yes, this has cracked it, but then the pain would come back again. The fact is I was out of balance. I was really seriously out of balance Anne looking back now, I can see what I couldn't see at the time. But at the time, I tried alternative therapies like acupuncture Anne rapey, I even attended a local spiritualist church, which was a very experience. So I had people doing the laying on of hands, and, yep, it was helpful. That was where I learned to meditate originally.
Anne I let's say it didn't solve the problem, time passed, and eventually I was fortunate enough to meet a real healer. She didn't call herself a healer. She was a chiropractor, but she did great deal more than just tweaking the bones and making them go pop the way you expect chiropractors to do. And I noticed some of the things that she did with her hands, and I started asking questions.
She recommended a few books Anne said a few words about she blockages, and I was hooked because what she was doing was making a very noticeable difference. And I will not tell you the rest of the story for this podcast because I'm coming to the end of time. So friends, that wraps up the mind body spirit connection for this week.
Let me know, please, if there are any specific subject that you would like me to include in a future podcast, join me, same time next week, or connect with me, and time on social media.
