Episode description

Well, here we are. The trade deadline is in the books. The Rockies are in last place. Apathy seems to be rampant among people who headed into this season full of hope that the Rockies would finally capture their first National League West championship in franchise history. There is major unrest in fans' perception of the front office. The clock is ticking on Nolan Arenado's post-2021 opt-out possibility. Things don't feel great.

On this week's edition of the Purple Dinosaur Podcast, we try to discuss, in some coherent fashion, what has gone wrong, why the Rockies didn't move anyone at the deadline (hint: nobody wanted the players they would've liked to move), and what's next for this team and this franchise.

The funeral dirge music is back leading off this week's show which gives you a pretty good idea of our mood. It's the 175th episode of the Purple Dinosaur Podcast. Find it at your local creaky-gated cemetery!
