¶ Welcome Back
Welcome to Punches and Punchlines , where we break down the best in boxing with a sense of humor . And now your hosts , fritz and Franco .
Welcome back everybody to this episode of Punches and Punchlines . Thanks for joining us again . We had a couple of great fights and , more importantly , a main event that I was looking forward to since the first fight ended . We are back to talking about Fury versus Usyk 2 .
Probably more appropriate is Usyk versus Fury 2 , since he was the winner in both of them and just a complete badass . So I think his name should go first and that's what I just corrected myself to do .
Yeah , I thought it was a really fun fight . I was definitely looking forward to it . It's cool to finally see the belts getting unified at the heavyweight division after years and years it felt like almost a decade of not necessarily people ducking each other , but just the stars not aligning .
And finally the stars aligned and we finally got to see it and it lived up to the hype . I thought it was . It was awesome . I do think that they could have done a better job , kind of hyping this up , that they could have done a better job kind of hyping this up . This was a huge deal . But instead we heard about Tyson .
Mike Tyson , like the wrong Tyson , was getting tons of hype or someone like a Ryan Garcia . This was huge for boxing and then it was very underwhelming as far as like marketing goes . I think they need to step up their game a little bit . But other than that , for people like us , it lived up to the hype . We were super excited and it was awesome .
So , yeah , let's go ahead and it's been a while fritz . Let's do a deep dive on this one .
Let's go ahead and get into it
¶ Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury
alexander usic , 37 years old , coming in at 22 and oh , versus tyson fury , 36 years old , coming in at 34 , 1 and 1 . For those that didn't watch his fight , you know you just heard that you got an unbeaten 22 and 0 fighter going against a guy with one loss and one draw . Now , fury's only loss was in the previous fight , coming in against Alexander Usyk .
That one was a split decision and his draw was against Deontay Wilder when he somehow rose from the dead in the 12th round and beat the count . It was an absolute joy of a fight and this was a fight , like I had said in the open , that I was looking forward to since the bell rang at the final one in the first time around .
Now , first time around there was a little controversy of whether it should have been stopped or whether the knockdown that was ruled was accurate . Mark Nelson , who was the referee in that one , has a really good track record from the fights that I've watched that he's usually making the right choices .
So I get why he just called the knockdown and didn't stop the fight , and I don't even disagree with it . The right guy ended up winning that fight . Uh , anyway , and in this fight the right guy ended up winning . Fury would have like moments of success , but not enough , just just not enough .
You know , like I thought that the eight to four scorecard that the judges had was pretty accurate , that , yeah , you know , all the punches that he was able to land didn't look like it was coming with the normal steam because the shorter man was staying right in his face . As this fight wore on , the jab became less effective for Fury .
And as that was happening , fury was less effective . At no point did he ever hurt Usyk or make me think that this fight was in doubt . And then at the end of it , no , there was no knockdown . So there was no like big drama to this fight .
But what was nice was throughout the , from the opening bell to the closing bell , this was action where the smaller guy was chasing down the bigger guy . All fight long , fury just does not have the answers for Alexander Usyk . We see why he wanted no part of this fight in the first place . I believe knew we couldn't win Like .
This is a style that does not fit him . You mean athletic . Yeah , it's just too too fast . He made every excuse to not fight Alexander Usyk . He's like oh , he's too small , I'm not fighting a middleweight . All right , that was his first thing . And then he came out with an offer . He's like all right , Usyk , we'll do the fight .
We're going to have a 90-10 split , take it or leave it . And then he was shocked that Usyk's like all right , let's do it belly . You know , let's make this happen , fat boy . And he's like oh , but I can't because I got , you know , whatever . So all the talking that Fury did led me to really be rooting for Usyk . The dude is just a complete badass .
For people that aren't as familiar with Alexander Usyk , just a little background on him . He was a gold medalist and then an undisputed cruiserweight champion , which is , you know , just the weight class below heavyweight . He cleaned out cruiserweight and could not be touched there .
You know , almost similar to when Evander Holyfield just cleaned out cruiserweight and there was no competition even near him , and the same thing kind of happened to Usyk . So he's like all right , well , I'm going to move up to heavyweight . His resume at heavyweight has been fantastic .
You know like he started against chisora , which everybody , every heavyweight eventually has to fight derek chisora . But then he knocked out daniel devoy , he beat anthony joshua twice and now he's beat tyson fury twice . The dude is an absolute badass . I don't know 37 yeah , I don't see anybody hanging with no , and you know ?
another thing I guess you could say that's on his resume , that makes him awesome is he has like a really long , very successful amateur career . But that also kind of it's going to hurt his final payday and maybe his legacy a little bit . But who cares ? Because he's cleaning house now . He's 37 years years old . He's only 22 and 0 .
So I think this young man has a bright future ahead of him , and it does kind of suck that this happens a lot with a lot of the female boxers that we like , where they start getting their flowers but they're in their late 30s . So it's like , oh man , that ending is coming so soon .
It's almost like discovering a band and then they break up not too long after you discover them . I'm hoping that alexander usik can do work now like he . He's not worrying about people ducking him .
He should have people coming at him and he feels like a gamer , like he feels like a fighting champ , someone who's going to be taking on anybody and everybody , and I hope he does . I hope that they can cram as many fights into this before before it's too late . Like father , time gives everybody and we need our short king to be able to have his reign .
He's six , three for it's . They kept talking about how little he is .
He's two of me like stacked on top of each other but when you're fighting a guy that's six nine , you do look tiny . You know what I mean and that's what was crazy about it , and I agree . I really look forward to whoever usic decides to fight next . I hope it is daniel dubois . That would be nice to see and be undisputed again .
So anybody that doesn't follow it as much nerds like fr and I are One of the four belt companies . Basically , sanctuary Bodies said they stripped Usyk of his IBF title because he went for the rematch with Tyson Fury instead of whatever mandatory that they had . And so then it was .
Daniel Dubois had to fight Anthony Joshua for the vacant belt and Daniel Dubois beat the shit out of Anthony Joshua . Yeah , so now he's the IBF champion . So I still see him as the undisputed heavyweight champ . But if you want to keep that title , take on the IBF mandatory now in Daniel Dubois , like he's earned the right for a rematch .
There was a little bit of controversy in the first fight . For those that were rooting Daniel Dubois . There seems to be a lot of controversy that when he hit him in the dick they're like no , it was right on the belt line . No , it ended at the belt line , but it started right at the bottom of his nutsack .
You know Usyk was given the five minutes to recover because it was a straight shot to the nuts . It ended up with a jab knocking out daniel dubois later in that fight . So I would love to see that fight again . Usic has talked about maybe going back down to cruiserweight and I wouldn't mind seeing him fight .
Dubois , walk away as the undisputed heavyweight champion .
Just go clean out cruiserweight again yeah , as far as the fight itself goes , some things I'm curious to see where we go from here . Fury , he was throwing haymakers , he was dropping bombs . Usik was absorbing them . It was very russia versus ukraine . It was awesome .
But fury , you said it looked very out of shape , but also he's been big before in his upper body , he's been jiggly before and he's able to beat guys that are in great physical shape . His legs , though , looked so cartoonishly scrawny , like he was the definition of skipping leg . Day man looked like what were the ? Were they pushups ?
The Flintstones , like Sherbert things where it was on a stick and you push the Sherbert up through the little tube ? Yeah , yeah , he looked . He looked like a pushup , like one of those 1980s push-ups , just big and boxy and lumpy up top and then the skinniest chicken legs ever .
Yeah yeah , flamingo legs going in .
It was yeah , that's exactly what he looked like . You can't get any power behind those little toothpicks he had poking out from under his giant ass shorts and he looked bad . And then for the announcers to still be hyping him up was so I .
I complain about the british announcers all the time and how they just love to gas up their own guys and , oh , look at how amazing he . Yet no , it was so bad . And so like one side , usic would be massacring him , not a peep .
Or they like , oh , look at how Fury's absorbing these amazing shots , right , and it's like come on , man , your dude is getting his ass beat . I was worried that the fix was in , especially because I had put money on Usyk to take this on the cards and I was like man , I fall for this every time . I'm like Charlie Brown with Lucy in the football .
I'm like Charlie Brown with Lucy in the football . I'm a sucker again . And so when they announced it as Usyk taking it on the cards , I was happy because I won , but also the fix wasn't in . It went the correct way . It felt so good .
But they had a new thing for this fight and it's something that we could see more of where they had AI as a fourth judge . It wasn't an official judge , but they were just using it to see how it worked and which I don't . I don't know why you have to have that on the TV . You could just post that on social media or whatever . That's fine .
The fourth judge .
They have it on TV for old guys like me that try to avoid social media as much as they possibly can .
Well , so they so , so they put it up there . But then I saw it later on on social media what the actual score was by the AI . The AI had two 10-10 rounds and I was like that's a red flag , that's something . The actual judges had a 10-10 round .
The guys on TV like there was a bunch of people that did give one 10-10 round , but for there to be two of them , and then what , we're going to be getting draws because yeah , some fight is going to have every round 10 , 10 . You can't have that . There has to be that feel , that thing that humans bring to the table . That makes it a little bit .
You know that , that gut instinct , and then we can complain about it afterwards . All right , just live scoring . Yeah , really , the problem with boxing isn't bringing a computer into the equation , it's sorting out and getting rid of these really bad judges that are completely off . Like the AI was very close to what the actual judges got and to what we thought .
The score should be Perfect , but it's not a perfect system . So to replace people with AI , I don't think we're there yet . Also , will Smith warned us about this a long time ago . As much as I hate them , the robots are going to try to kill us for it , so I don't need them to be taken over boxing too .
Well , here's the . The other thing I might say . Maybe the judges got it right , cause they're like oh , I got a robot double checking my work . I better , I better dial this shit in and get it right . Maybe that was the plus . Maybe they just keep that on there . So people have to give us their legit and not their , their home cooking .
So you don't handle this shit , you're out of a job .
Yeah , I absolutely love this fight . It was , you know , for a heavyweight fight to go just all action for 12 rounds . It was a joy . I definitely like Alexander Usyk and I was happy he won . I was also happy that Fury was mad and stormed out of the ring afterwards saying he won and took his sour grapes into the locker rooms .
Yeah , I'll watch whoever Fury's fighting next , because I'm not necessarily a fan , but he is great , all right . I always hate these people like oh , my guy beat him because that guy sucked Alexander . Usyk beat him and he's great . I think it's even more of a feather in Usyk's cap , because Fury is great , usyk is just better .
It was , uh , absolutely a joy to watch for 12 rounds and can't see wait to see what both of them do next yeah , I definitely want to see fury again , especially because he's entertaining .
At the end of the day , this is a super entertaining dude . I like it . Like there's other guys that I feel like they're trolling us but they're not in on the joke . With Fury I feel like he's in on it , like it's just tongue in cheek enough that we let him get away with the silly stuff .
It's when he starts fighting like MMA fighters are actually doing shitty stuff that he loses me a little bit . But I feel like he's right on that edge , like he knows how to play the game and I'm okay with it . I'm okay with the silliness and at the end of the day , it's all about us being entertained , like that's all that matters .
And this dude can put down a fight , like he can take so much punishment and you never know . Like during this fight , even we were worried a couple of times where he was landing these monster shots on Usyk . The thing is Usyk is just not human . Like he was absorbing them , them , like it was nothing but Fury . I want to see him again . He's a moneymaker .
We're going to see him again . I hope he doesn't step away . I could see him doing that , because why does he have to keep doing this shit ? I think he likes the attention , so I hope we see him again . Can't wait to see him again .
I am so excited for 2025 and seeing what alexander usic does , it's like a scarier , crazier version of canelo , where he's just got all the belts he's got all the infinity stones . What's he gonna do ? Is he gonna snap his fingers ? Is he gonna open up a strip club ? We don't know . It's gonna be great to see fritz .
I can't wait

¶ Playing Boxing
since we did an episode last that came in before Usyk versus Fury , was Jaime Munguia versus Bruno Serras , and this did not go how we were expecting it . To Franco , nope .
This was brutal , fritz . First of all , munguia . Jaime Munguia , a national treasure , was fighting against Bruno Saras , a French guy . I was like , please , please . You saw this before me and you were like you have to tune into this . And so I'm watching the whole card or not the whole card , but I watched a good amount .
Then I was like , oh my god , if you're telling me that he lost to this french dude , fritz , when he when I say he beat his ass , oh my god , bruno beat his ass and it wasn't like a flash knockdown , it was a for real knockdown knockout . It was bad . My ah , I'm so bummed . I love jaime munguia .
I don't know what happened here , but Bruno Saras , bruno Saras went down Like he didn't look great and then he made Jaime Munguia look so shitty it broke my heart , fritz .
Well , here's what it's the old adage of If you can just get that one lucky punch in and I don't know that it was lucky because Saras was putting in his work he was getting his ass kicked for this whole fight .
Like I didn't see any rounds going to saras , one through five , but then that sixth , while jaime munguia was getting a little greedy , saras lands one just square on the chin with everything he had , lands it right on the chin . Munguia just unfolds like a marionette , had its strings cut , doesn't beat the 10 count .
And if you want to say oh , he was up at 10 , well , I'll give you that . But he wasn't right and the ref was right to not let this one continue . I thought this was definitely upset of the year . This guy came in at , I think , 25 and 0 .
But I don't think any of his fights had been outside of france , so I'm not sure the competition that he was facing over there . But he definitely showed when he stepped up to a world level competition that he , uh , at least had for one night he had the capability of beating a world level fighter . Yeah , it was . It was definitely something .
I was shocked when it happened . I'm like oh , oh , shit , this is , I'm just waiting for . I was waiting for the uh Munguia knockout . Like I wasn't expecting to watch Munguia get knocked out , so I'm sure that they're going to have a rematch on this .
I said that it should be in Paris , you know , like this guy came to Munguia's backyard and knocked him out , like Munguia should now have to travel over to Paris and try to try to get one back on this guy . Or uh for greedy uh purposes . Chicago , I think it should be at Wintrust Arena or United Center , you know , I think that that would be .
That would be fun one to go watch . But yeah , definitely upset of the year . Uh , I can't even think of something that would be in the running with this one .
I love the Paris idea , but I think that might actually work against Saras , because we've seen this before , where guys get their fight or gals get their fight in their hometown Right , and then it works against them . I remember he was fighting in Tijuana .
Now , not only was , am I sure you know , he went to the local local taco joint , you know , hit up like all the local places . People were cheating him . Great , probably didn't get to sleep that well because he's out partying or whatever . No , I'm sure he wasn't doing any of that , but the count that count was definitely . It felt very different .
Now we were just talking about Usyk and Fury their first time around . Fury went down , and so I was watching the replays of what happened last time . He got up and looked more shaken than Jaime Munguia did when he got up from this count .
So in that situation , though , they were in a different location From what I understand , from what I was reading , in Tijuana they don't F around Like if you're , they don't do the whole . All right , give me your gloves , take two steps forward , take two steps back , put your right foot in , put your right foot out . They don't do any of that .
Uh , it's just . How do you look all right . Nope , you look like shit fights over versus in vegas . We have seen , you know , these like 15 , 20 counts that these guys get and they give them time to kind of recover . I guess they don't do that in tijuana . So , yeah , if this was in france , I don , I don't know that it would be to his benefit .
He should be like I'm doubling down on Tijuana , let's do a bigger venue . I want a bigger cut . If you want to rematch like milk it for all it's worth . He basically he landed one good shot . Uh , I hope he doesn't get his haircut .
He kind of looked like he could have been in the misfits because all of his hair he had , like his bangs , coming down into one super long widow's peak that was coming all the way down to like his nose . Don't , don't cut the hair . Keep it in your eyes .
Apparently , it helped because you didn't see this monster coming at you and you ended up landing this great shot . It was definitely shocking . I think Jaime Munguia is the better boxer , but I'm kind of rooting for Saras say , and I feel bad saying that I feel bad saying that , but everybody loves an underdog story .
You know , Viva La France , right , let's do it . Let's , let's get in there , but do it in Tijuana again . Paris would be cool , that way he could have his come up . But then it's going to work against him . He's going to be all full of .
That's what I'm saying . I wanted to go against him because I'm still rooting Munguia . So , yeah , bring it over to France , let him have his huge homecoming . You know , just flip the script completely . Instead of Munguia fighting in his home backyard and being comfortable , this is , you know , balboa going to Moscow . This is what's going to happen . So I love it .
Yeah , it was good . Kudos to Saras for , you know , coming over into the guy's backyard and scoring the knockout . It was a one punch , but he trained his ass off to be in that position to throw that one punch . So , you know , kudos to him . You did beat a legit 168 pound fighter , so that's , uh , that's awesome for him .
So I wanted to talk a little more about the , the undercard of Usyk Fury . One of your uh , one of your primo started it out for us .
Franco . Uh , we've already kicked him out of the family . You know we don't see my name often , or my last name often up on the screen . Same with you . Like you don't , you don't see Nathan Eagle up on the screen all the time , but when you do , and then the guy sucks like what are we doing ?
It was so disappointing joshua ocampo versus muhammad alakal and muhammad whooped the shit out of him . It went the distance , but at no point was I like oh , joshua's doing so good . It was so embarrassing . And then , on top of it , he was light-skinned . So it's like a light-skinned Ocampo .
I thought , for sure he was your TO or your primo . The only thing .
I'm hanging my hat up on is he's Colombian and he lives in Spain . Well , colombia's cool , but the Spain part that's an X . Get him out of here . He's already out of the family .
He's not invited to the cookout fritz yeah , now the kind of the controversial fight johnny fisher versus david allen . Now , for anybody that's been listening to punches and punchlines since the beginning , we've covered david allen fights before and this guy was supposed to be you know europe's .
He was going to be their up-and-coming heavyweight and then just he'd have a good fight and then two bad fights . A good fight , two bad fights , and so now he's no longer their their up-and-coming guy .
He was taking on their new up-and-coming guy , johnny fisher , and while holding the back of johnny fisher's head he lands a shot to johnny fisher's chin and then just beats the shit out of him . In the fifth round . This kind of from that knockdown on was in control of the fight . Both of these dudes looked like out of shape and out of breath .
I can't say it was a joy to watch . No , but that felt like the fix was in on that one , because David Allen had that 10-8 round and controlled the second half of this fight and still the decision went to Johnny Fisher . A split decision , but still I didn't see that Johnny Fisher had won that fight .
No , I agree , I thought this was a robbery . Also , allen looked so goofy . Oh gosh , who did I say ? He looked like from the old Looney Tunes cartoons , cecil yeah , there you go . He looked like from the old Looney Tunes cartoons Cecil yeah , there you go . He looked like Cecil the Turtle .
That was his posture , where his neck was stretched forward from the old Looney Tunes cartoons , and his back look all hunched over like a turtle . Yeah , you hit the nail on the head , man . These dudes were just so sloppy and gasping for air . And then to have a wonky score to finish it off the whole thing .
Really , the biggest losers were us and those people in attendance in saudi arabia . I I didn't think this was a great fight . It was entertaining like watching bum fights . Like it was entertaining yeah , like watching a bar fight , but not . We couldn't look away I'll say that it was they were just so out of shape and so goofy and so for .
For it to have a shitty ending was just kind of like the turd on top of our poop sandwich .
Right , absolutely . And then I mean there was a couple of decent fights in there . I don't know if you had any that you had notes that you wanted to talk about , but the Surrey Boachuk to Ishmael Davis I thought Davis was trying and that's what . That's a dude that just looked ripped , you know .
Oh yeah , that's right .
But at the end of end of six he just retired on his stool and I don't blame , like Boa Chuck , I don't know what it is about Ukrainian boxers but , they have . They have a motor man where it's just high performance in . There's like an unlimited gas tank to these dudes . It's incredible .
I know that you know I'm just mentioning greats right now , but Lomachenko , alexander , usyk and Bojack I've watched them fight multiple times and never once have I seen them look gassed at all .
No , bojack looks like he would be playing in some kind of a movie where you end up in like a Ukrainian prison and your cellmate is this little scrawny dude and he's like I will help you escape .
And then all of a sudden he just goes like Rambo mode and kills everybody and when he rips off his shirt he's a lot more cut than you would have thought him to be . Right , he isn't like the scariest looking dude , but when he's fighting the boxing is so pure and so beautiful .
It's like watching , you know , like Deadpool massacre an entire army of people where he's just this like force . But he doesn't look it . And for Davis Davis , his upper body was ridiculous . Like he had like action figure , superhero type muscles where it was like muscles on his muscles but uh , kind of like fury . The legs were a little bit skinny , it was .
It was looking like he might have skipped leg day . But you know , when you're watching the fight you're looking at the upper body and you're thinking , oh , this dude like davis is gonna kill bohachuk and then bohachuk just so smooth man like this guy is fun to watch .
He's such a good boxer and tons of action and power , like when he was dropping them the punches don't look crazy , but when you see them in slow motion you're like , oh look , you can see Davis's soul leaving his body momentarily before it goes back in to keep him alive . It's . It was awesome . I love Bohachuk . I'm looking forward to seeing him some more .
I think maybe a rematch with Ortiz , I don't know . There's a lot of question marks moving into 2025 with all of boxing and I'm looking forward to seeing .
Hopefully we can get the fights that we want and we don't see the big names fighting a bunch of no names , but we'll see , and on this card we we had evidence of why rabbit punches are illegal moses ituma I'm probably saying that wrong versus dempsey mckean . All right , that's where the 19 year old kid landed .
Uh , a couple of haymakers , oh yeah , and the first one looked like it landed behind the head and then mckean wasn't right , all right like he gets up and beats the count , but he wasn't right and then moses just finished the job . That was ko1 and you just see why rabbit punches are illegal .
Like he was not right , he landed a beautiful overhand left but uh , mckean kind of turned and ducked , so then the punch landed behind him . It wasn't dirty , I'm not saying that this was McKean ducked and turned to where the punch would hit him in the back of the head and it did a lot of damage .
While he's stumbling , I was like , oh , that's a great evidence right there .
That should be the video of why , uh , rabbit punches are illegal yeah , and I almost feel like the term rabbit punch is misleading in this case , because bunnies , you know they're cute , they're little furry . This was like a huge hooking wind up of a punch .
And then , yeah , it's just shitty luck , he kind of turned and the punch landed right on the back of his head and then you know , you know where the term came from right .
When you're hunting rabbits , you smack them behind the head and it kills them oh , oh , that's fucking horrible on the other hand that's how you kill a fish , too , right you ?
just smash it in the head with the rolling pin , right . Then you go on ahead and fillet it because , uh , your dad has a million fish lined up for you to clean up . Right , that's everybody . Um , but there he did end up slipping a couple of times .
There was uh one where it looked like he might have maybe caught an elbow to the back of the head or something . So it's like damage on top of the damage yeah so when the final knockout came , it was right on his ear and I don't know . Moses atama fought a good fight . He fought a good fight , but he just doesn't look like the scariest dude .
I don't know if it's , he's kind of got a baby face or maybe it was like his beard isn't the greatest beard it's not a terrible beard , but it wasn't the best beard , like we've definitely seen better . Maybe it's the haircut , I don't know , but somebody needs to get this man into a barber , get him a glow up for his next fight .
He just he looked unfinished . You know he looked like he was a last minute addition and he's not . So yeah , go out , get cleaned up , come back looking clean for your next fight so you don't look like a 16-year-old that won like a Make-A-Wish thing and got to go into a fight in front of a big crowd , but the punches were awesome .
He didn't do anything wrong .
He definitely got to power . The power was cool .
And yeah , mckean , or whoever that was , can attest to that for sure .
Yeah , oh , whoever that was could uh can attest to that for sure . So yeah , oh shit , I just looked at he's only 19 . Uh , yeah , so he is a kid , he was he was 19 at the time of the fight .
Looks like he might have had a birthday since then hey , happy , happy birthday moses .
Yeah , felice cuplianos uh so that explains why he needs the glow . Somebody needs to take this boy in to like a real barber . Uh , it's not that hard . There's plenty of places . Maybe they didn't have anything in saudi arabia and he was there adjusting at the time , although arabic barbers are the best he's .
Uh , let's see , he was born in slovakia and now currently resides in chatham , kent , uh , in the uk there . Well , that explains that for yeah I don't know who's their , who's their football club over there in chatham , kent I ?
couldn't even find that on a map . I feel horrible , like I love looking at like random uk stuff . Uh , in general , yeah , couldn't find it on a map , don't know . On the other hand , they can't they can't find oklahoma on the map . So it works out in the end . But , yeah , this poor kid . Come on , he's 19 , somebody needs to get him .
Find him a nice arabic barber . They do like really good , like tight fades . It can't be that hard to find . But , come on , somebody in kent help this kid out because , uh , I think it would have added a little bit more umph , a little bit of a little exclamation point onto his fight because he can go to richard torres as a stylist .
Richard doesn't have a he rolled out of bed looking like that Too great .
What do ? We have coming up . Franco , I'm looking at the schedule right now . Looks like there's a card in Tokyo on New Year's Eve , but it doesn't look like there's any coverage for it . January 11th in England there's a card on Peacock . Daniel Dubois' sister caroline will be on that one .
Steve woodall versus callum simpson check that out on sheffield yeah , and on the old peacock . Oh then our guy , january 24th , those will definitely be back with an episode after this . January 24th , nioya anyway is fighting in tokyo and that is over on the espn plus . So anytime , no , yo anyway is fighting pound for pound , number two fighter on planet earth .
I will be tuning in and itching to tell you guys about it yeah , friday kind of sucks yeah , but it'll probably be like friday at 3 am or something here true . So maybe we'll be out drinking on that Thursday then , Franco , so we can check it out live . But , yeah , if anybody out there is listening is like , oh , what should I ?
What should I be watching January 24th on ESPN Plus ? Watch that for sure , and we'll be back to to give you our thoughts on that . One I have , because I wasn't sure who whose turn it was . That one I have , uh , cause I wasn't sure who , uh , whose turn it was .
Franco , I did pull up a trivia question If you , if you got one , if you're , if you're ready to go .
Okay .
Yeah , you ready . Okay , uh , people at home you can play along . This is my trivia question for Franco in our deep dive today , and the undefeated Alexander Usyk that we were talking about . All right , now , I'm going to give you four people . You're going to tell me who he did not beat .
Okay , all right , now , it was Marco Huck , jonathan Crane , felipe Romero , pedro Julio Rodriguez .
Oh shit .
I'm going to go with Crane . Okay , jonathan Crane , you're going to say he did not beat Jonathan Crane , correct , okay . Jonathan Crane , you're going to say he did not beat Jonathan Crane . Correct , dr Jonathan Crane the scarecrow . Oh , thank God , he did not beat Jonathan Crane . So you're right , I kept it in the DC universe . Thank you , right there .
I'm like for a brief moment there , and this is what throws me off with it . Whenever we do this trivia game is I'll hear boxers names that I know and then I'm like do I know that person is a boxer or is that like their name , like their actual name for ?
something else , and then I get all worried . Aquaman yeah , all right , so you nailed it again , franco .
Yeah , I'll have to have one ready for you next time .
You can have one ready for us when we're coming back to discuss our boyfriend . Have one ready for us when we're coming back to discuss our boyfriend , naoya Inoue . I'm telling you it's worth even getting a subscription to ESPN Plus just to watch Naoya Inoue fight . Go on YouTube and watch Naoya Inoue highlights .
If you don't know how to spell that it's I-N-O-U-E , you can just put in I-N-O-U-E highlights on YouTube and you're in for a treat . It's goddamn joy to watch this dude fight . You know a 122 pounder that punches like a goddamn middleweight . So do that for the end of the year . Happy New Year to everybody .
Now , before we take off . Fritz , yeah , you have some stuff you have . Your final show ever is coming up soon .
Yeah .
Fritz is going to be stepping away from full-time comedy . No , not full-time . Like wrestlers always do that . I'm not going to be a full-time wrestler anymore and then they show up like once every five years , but Fritz is going to be stepping away from the comedy world and he has his final show ever coming up .
So , fritz , you want to tell us a little bit about that .
Yeah , March , tell us a little bit about that . Yeah , March 8th at the Zanies in Rosemont . Rosemont is right near O'Hare airport in the Chicagoland area . So yeah , if you guys want to come out , go to zaniescom , search the Rosemont March 8th you can get . Tickets are available now . Come see me before I'm done doing standup .
And uh , if you're in Kansas city , Omaha , Nebraska or Des Moines , Iowa , I have part of my farewell tour . I'll be in Kansas City February 12th . Let me look at the calendar .
You hear that Taylor Swift .
Yeah , let me see , I know she's a listener . February , all right , so February 12th I'm in Kansas City , missouri . February 13th I'm in Omaha , nebraska . February 14th and 15th I'm in Des Moines , iowa . You can go to chaddaniellzcom to get tickets to those shows .
Yeah , Chad's a great show too . So you get to see one of Fritz's final performances and you get to laugh your ass off at Chad . So a one-two punch combo should be awesome .
Absolutely . So , yeah , happy New Year everybody . Thanks for tuning in , thanks for listening , thanks for subscribing , thanks to franco to doing all the work and , uh , getting these episodes ready for you guys . Happy new year and uh , if you don't have anything else , franco
