Episode description

Fanny is a writer, curator, co-founder of the design brand, Permanent Collection and daughter of Chez Panisse founder Alice Waters. We sit down mid Covid (via zoom of course) to discuss Fanny’s new book Always Home. Always Home is part memoir, part cookbook, and a beautifully written look into life as Alice Water’s daughter.

In this conversation, we go beyond the book to chat about “beauty as a language of care,” being raised by a village, + the responsibility of a consumer.

We also chat about…

  • Growing up in a restaurant
  • Working with friends
  • The aromatherapy of cooking
  • How generosity influences an appetite for curiosity
  • The edible schoolyard
  • The desire to bring people together
