Our guest, Alan Taylor MSc, MLACP, MCSP is a Physiotherapist and a full-time lecturer at the University of Nottingham and Associate lecturer at MMU and Hertford Universities. He co-convenes the ‘Musculoskeletal Disorders & Diseases’ module and the ‘Advanced Practice Physiotherapy’ Masters module. His Master’s degree was in Sports injury and Therapy and investigated blood flow problems in elite athletes. Alan has more than 20 years in teaching postgraduate clinical courses for Altered Haemodynamics and Manual Therapy, Vertebrobasilar Insufficiency, Cervical Arterial Dysfunction (CAD), and Sports Medicine; - all topics related to altered haemodynamics and clinical reasoning. He is and expert witness in the field of medical negligence related to altered haemodynamics and CAD. Alan is Author of over 30 peer-reviewed articles (primarily CAD / haemodynamics/Sports injury); 6 book chapters (Haemodynamics / CAD / Clinical Reasoning / Manual Therapy). Primary research in haemodynamics and sports medicine; Member of literature review programme in CAD commissioned by the MACP.

  • How to recognize the risk of serious adverse events before and after treating patients with manual therapy.

  • The possibility of flow limitations occurring in the absence of observable vascular pathology.
