EP 5 Frank Maene | What's On Your Mind?  Today, you can hear and/or see the great conversation I had with Frank Maene.  Frank Maene is Managing Partner at Volta Ventures. He is what we call a VC or Venture Capitalist. Basically, an investor who searches for startups and invest in them. After 5 to 7 years, the VC expects a big return when the company is sold to an other company or goes IPO (to the stock market). This is a risky venture, because only 1 out of 10 startups succeed this. 3 of 10 barely survive and the rest yeah, they tried.  Frank is a VC for more than 20 years.  So if you are the CEO/founder of a startup/scale-up, listen carefully because he is sharing all the great lessons of the thousands of companies he is seeing over the years.  In Belgium, he is one of thé names in VC land. If he could play guitar, he would be a rockstar, but he isn't.
