Good news, everyone! We're back for a bonus catch-up episode, in which we assimilate the rest of Star Trek: Picard and talk about This Quarantine Life.
It's our final episode, and we arranged a special goodbye gift: None other than show creator Brad Wright, who returns to the podcast to discuss his thoughts about the ending of Travelers and what the future might hold. You do NOT want to miss this interview. Thanks for listening, everyone! Watch this feed and/or Facebook and/or Twitter to learn what we'll be podcasting about next.
Wow, wow, wow. We're still reeling -- in a good way -- from our interview with David himself, Mr. Patrick Gilmore. This miraculous bit of luck happened after we recorded the episode, so it's kind of a last-minute drop-in... and the best thing to happen to our little podcast since Eric McCormack.
Back to Travelers! (But don't worry, we're "sidecasting" our ongoing Picard thoughts here as well.) Things are getting exciting, and it looks David is starting to become the action hero he always OH MY GOD THAT DID NOT JUST HAPPEN!
Want to know what we thought of Star Trek: Picard? Here's your chance to find out! Join us for a brief but lively discussion of episode 1. Protocol 1 will return next week, with a Picard E2 mini-cast tacked onto the front. Yes, we're trying to be all things to all people -- or at least two things to some people.
We interrupt your regularly scheduled podcast to bring you this, um...sidecast? In honor of Star Trek Picard, which debuts this Thursday on CBS All Access, we're geeking out on all things Trek. After that, we'll recap Episode 1. After that... who knows? But Protocol 1 will return soon!
It's the end of the Trevor as we know it, and we're not fine. That said, this episode almost redeems itself at the end. Your thoughts?
It's a reunion episode! Hall, Luca, Kyle, Boyd... and ONLY ONE GETS OUT ALIVE. Meanwhile, see if you agree with Rick's great idea for fixing the episode's clunky ending.
Now this is some Travelers at its best...due in no small part to a lot of Grace at her funniest.
With apologies to Simon & Garfunkel, at the end of this episode you'll find yourself asking, "Where have you gone, Traveler Perrow...?"
See if you can count the number of problems with this episode. They definitely add up to more than three.
What's this? Publishing a new podcast on a MONDAY? That sound suspiciously like fake news, which plays a huge role in this stolen-from-the-headlines episode.
We're back! And we brought the Director with us. Exactly how is that possible? Erm, best bet, don't overthink it.
It's the end of Season 2! And, holy game-changers, what a finish.
We're pretty sure there's a "Simon says" joke to be made here, but we're too busy 'shipping David and Marcy.
We're still not sure what the title of this episode refers to. Your thoughts?
It's the After-School Special episode of Travelers we never wanted...but still managed to enjoy.
You want Grace? You're gonna have to get through us first. Also: Please help us explain what the heck was going on in that "sentencing room." Hey, have you seen our SWEET new T-shirts ? They're pretty much the best Travelers-podcast T-shirts in this or any other timeline.
If you think there's a better episode of Travelers than this one, be prepared to defend yourself. It's smart, funny, surprising, horrifying and ultimately oh-so-satisfying. (Kind of like the entire series, really.)
Our next Halloween costume: A military guest pass that simply says, "MacLaven."
We're dating ourselves, but we can't hear the name "Jenny" without thinking of Rick Springfield. ("We saw your number on a wall: 'For a drop time call....!') Hey, have you seen our SWEET new T-shirts ? They're pretty much the best Travelers-podcast T-shirts in this or any other timeline.
It's time for Trevor and Phillip to monkey around with the timeline to make sure Abbey does the thing she did the first time around without anyone's help. It's like a time travel version of mansplaining, and goes about as well as you'd expect.
Let's do the time jump again! It's three months down the road -- just enough time for other captured traveler teams to rot down to the bone.
AKA 2 FAST 2 4-IOUS. AKA PTSD PIA. AKA 'Say No to Drugs' (cough, PHILIP, cough). Hey, have you seen our SWEET new T-shirts ? They're pretty much the best Travelers-podcast T-shirts in this or any other timeline.
We're back! And we brought some SWEET new T-shirts, which you can check out here . So about that episode title: It's a play on Schubert's "Ave Maria," which is Latin for "Hail Mary." And "Machina" is, of course, the Latin word for machine. All hail the machine that can send a consciousness back through time!
A stellar end to an amazing season of television, capped by an interview with Grant MacLaren himself! It's true: None other than Grace herself stops by to talk about Travelers.
It was originally going to be called "The Time Traveler's Wife," but that title was taken. Hey, like what we're doing here? Appreciate the total lack of commercials in this podcast? We'd be endlessly grateful for your support, which you can provide here: https://www.patreon.com/protocol1 Want to buy a Protocol 1 T-shirt? Now you can! https://www.teepublic.com/user/protocol1...
Brace! Brace! Brace! For one of the most exciting episodes to date. (Don't worry, it's not about chess.)
Jokes we inexplicably failed to make during this episode: "Guess who's coming to Donner?" "Donner, party of one." "Has anyone seen Dasher?"
