Probe the Act on radio. Hello, Hello, Hello, Memmy Hickins, your host. Welcome to Prob the Act show where we get to dig into the lives of the people behind the music. You're here here on dip Stuff Radio where the artist tells us a bit more about who they really are. Ooh that sounds scary. That's me able to laugh, by the way, in case you're guessing. Thank you and welcome to the show. Okay, welcome to Probe the Act on diep Stuff Radio with Emmy Hickins. And we've
got a lovely guest today. She has all the way from a kid of Minster in England. Yeah, she's a singer and a songwriter. Welcome to the show. She has. How are you doing today, I'm good, good, good, Yeah, I'm good. I'm good. Yeah. So
tell us about your act. How did you start music? So, I'd say I was about nine years old when I got into music properly, and then like throughout I'd say about three years four years, I'd just been getting into like singer lessons and stuff and doing great, and then I finally took it seriously about three years ago when I entered a few competitions and I got
pretty far in them. We started promoting music. I started writing music and from one competition I received a development program which is in River Studios in Southampton. We I wrote several songs, which is where Rain originally came from. And then my and I went to a few friends, one called Robinson. He he helped me write this song Rain and develop it more. So. Yeah, are we talking about the same Sam Robinson that was involved with Amy Winos? All right, okay, all right, okay, so that's a
different one. Yeah, brilliant. So have you ever been in a band? There? She has. I haven't exactly been in a band, but I work with free Lance. I tend to kick with so often. Yeah, brilliant. So do you play any instrument at all? I should be playing like Jimmy and Ricks on the guitar, but no, okay, yeah brilliant. Yeah. So can you explain your your kind of music to someone who hasn't heard it before. That's a difficult one. My first single was
very more alternative, a little bit more suppressing, i'd say. My new single coming out on Monday, it's very more commercial, vermal pop. Yeah, I'm quite excited about that new single coming out. There's been a lot of buzz around that new single. Is it called Don't Do Dirty? Yeah? Yeah, that's the one. Yeah wow, that's yeah. We'll talk about that in a minute. So who writes your songs? With my first
single again, that was me and Sam. We both wrote that together and of course, of course originally came out of for Studios, which I wrote, whereas like when it comes to verses and stuff, we both kind of like knuckled down on it. Whereas my new song yeah, oh bit, yeah, I know, I mean, I know you've mentioned about your your music being depressed, in which I totally disagree with. I totally disagree with
it. I think I think your music is very, very nice. You've got really fantastic vocals, by the way, and I'm a huge fan. Yeah. So, but what are most of your songs about? Just like the love scenarios, typical love scenario like I'm happy, I'm sad, I'm angry, like you know, yeah, so sort of like love and relationship. Yeah, you can't go wrong with that, can you. You can't really go wrong with that because everyone experiences it at some point in life,
don't it. Yeah, So anyway, we're going to take a shot break now, Please don't go away. You're listening to to Probably Act on a dip Stuff Radio with Emmy Hickins and they are lovely, lovely singer a songwriter all the way from kid Minster in England, Shiraz and we'll be back shortly.
