Welcome back to Probe the Arts and lip Stuff Radio. Thanks for joining us. Enjoy the show. Welcome back to prop the Arts on lip Stuff Radio. Na Hickins and cale J. All the way lovely singer songwriter, I must say, all the way from Ireland, cale J. So we're just talking about just before the break, we were just getting to tell us about One More Chance and Don't Look Back, and we just want to know if

there's a story behind One More Chance and Don't Look Back. We love a true love story, but if it's not a love story, we still want to hear it. Please Yes, one more Chen. It was to do with that distruble marriage and we leave it at that. And it was just on the lyrics Flow that was released in July twenty and eighteen, and that was kind of the first track and are released went into the studio completely an interrepidation and that on what to expect. Learned so much from it and I

won't say anymore on that. That was basically the story behind that one. The third the only tract that I mentioned was Don't Look Back, which which was well released only in December of last year, and that was kind of inspired by I suppose several things, and just to kind of give you a

context of how I don't know things line up. When I was in the studio last year with my producer marked out, it was the first to que last year and he was out for a conflict where it and he just come in and said, did you hear the news that famous ARSTL footballer died Antoni

Rais. I says no, He said, yeah, I just died in car crash, and and and in the song I had already written written that line and death has taken away your angel and your heart is in the midium pieces and and and I had not one really for following celebrities, but I was really intrigued and and and touched by what happened. And I just probed further and just kind of just looked at his why his wiser now with us and Instagram page, and it was just I was so amazed at how she

handled it and just the devastation, the grief. You know, he was just literally two miles from home because dinner was about to be put up on the table and she gets a cold, a big dead and and but how she actually handles can be but also celebrated his life, you know, he was he had such success and I was left behind three kids. But acknowledge that. Look, the media being Monday, and I think we live in the world, you know where you know, celebrity, celebrities or this and

that and so on. But I think of COVID nineteen and so many other things have maybe brought people back down to earth. And the reason I'm saying that is, you know, in the music industry, it's all about a happy story, a happy story, and I love song. It's kind of the opening hasty basins that. But that's completely unbalanced because life is made up of the bitter and the sweet, and you know, and I'm not just

going to write songs in the sake of popularity. And I suppose it's current track that I've written, is I suppose you could call it commercial, you know, And I'm not going to write music for the sake of being a commercial. Bob Building didn't start out of that. I'm called a commercialist. Luck, he was a singer songwriter and so was gone. That was it. And put that track, you know, the sad song as its place

to you know, it don't go back. It speaks to people just as much as the episode is oh, thank you about beautiful music and the beautiful way that you've just explained that. Then it's it's something think about into right, Sorry place, Yeah sorry, I thought he was going to say something all right, sorry, Yeah, so yeah, very brilliant. Yeah, so I was just gonna say, what's the first step to making a new song? Some people write to the beat and some people write from the beat?

Am am? I making sense? Yeah? Yeah, you know this this this, this recent track was was I learned more about songwriting and and particularly more about melody than any other three tracks. What I my I'd always tried to stick to was I had I had the lyrics, and and I was going to bend as were the melody around around the lyrics, and but it didn't work like that. For this one. We and and we we obviously put put the music to or whatever. It was a long, arduous

process, and the original lyrics were essentially scrapped just they were white. I had to take them out because they wouldn't rhyme or fit in to through the melody. Did that I had, which was a huge challenge for me, And I think I had about just a week. Then that's just the gospel truth. I had a week then to put the lyrics is that once the music was done. So that was a shocker for Yeah, that was a completely shocker for me. So I'm going, oh my god, I hope

so yeah, I hope that answered me a good question on that. Yeah, it does. It does a bit more flexible this time track. And I got to go with your coob. We're gonna play the music and get it if until I really like the melody, yeah, and then I will. I'm gonna then I say, get my message across. Yeah. But look it's good. Okay, it's gonna be different lyrics, but we're going to have to stay message. Yeah the melody. So yeah, huge.

This was just a massive learning of this stuff. Right, So we're gonna take another working with another artist, all right, So all right, yeah, so we're gonna take a shot break. Now. When we're back, we're gonna tell us a bit more about that. So we're gonna take a

shot break now. Please don't go away. You've been listening to probably act on dip Stop Radio, Emmy Hickins and our lovely guest who is a singer songwriter all the way from Ireland, Caso J and he's gonna be joining us back for the final section when we come back, Please do not go away, because this is getting exciting. We're back shortly
