In 1988 in Michigan a young 19 year-old mother was brutally murdered in her apartment while her infant daughter was in the other room. The case of Cathy Swartz would go on to be unsolved until 2023 when genetic genealogy was used to finally solve her case and the suspect was somebody that had come up previously in the investigation, but unfortunately it was overlooked.
