Mark 7:1-13 – Pentecost 14 (B)

On this episode of Preaching the Text, John Hoyum and Steve Paulson discuss the relationship of Jesus and the law. In a dispute with the Pharisees, we learn how the law always leads to interpretation and traditions of interpretation. Jesus teaches us how the attempts to keep the law often force us to break it, showing that there must be a different source of righteousness outside of our law-keeping.
