It is approaching a final table. We thought maybe it'll get to a final table. We'll kind of do like a recap interview some of the players, all that sort of jazz, and then lead into tomorrow's final table. That event, of course, is going to be the first live stream that Poker gro is doing from the
twenty twenty four WSP. But as of time of recording, there are still thirteen players remaining, so we don't look like we're hitting the final table. Tonight. They just finished up a break. They're gonna play two more levels before they bag and tag them, I mean, or if they get down to seven they'll stop. But they're pretty deep. I think they're like forty big mines deep average, so probably gonna be a while over there. So
we're not We're not gonna wait it out. We just want to get this episode out to you guys, and then you know, we'll finish things up tomorrow and try and grab any interviews that we can. We're also going to hit on the five hundred dollars kickoff that kicked off today, the fifteen hundred dollars Omaha High Low Tournament got underway, and then the five hundred dollars Casino Employees event that's also playing out in the same room as the Champions Reunion,
the kind of barren horseshoe. What's that room called, I have no idea what these rooms are called. The one where the casino employs is, yeah, that is called the Grand Ballroom. The Grand Ballroom, which is huge, but there's only like four tables running, so it feel it feels kind of weird. But so, yeah, you have the Champions Union playing down over there. You also have the Casino Employees event. Casino Employees events likely
going to need a third day it is. It is scheduled as a two day event, but you know, something's sometimes excuse me, sometimes things change at the World Series of Poker. Always pretty flexible with everything that's going on here, So no big deal there. We'll wrap that one up probably on tomorrow's show and talk about that one as always. I'm bringing me any luck. And I said, give
me the player. I said, look, I think it's made. It made seven something like seven wsp fiund tables last year in some form, So you know, you gotta give us some time. But look, we got new hats coming eventually, so stick with it, grind it out. Luck will turn because it's a lucky hat. The Kangaroo crew is out in full four the this we are coming hot, I mean here Gary Benson comes strolling on into the twenty five k draft out of absolutely nowhere. Or like,

I always just called him Billy the croc Asho. I know who who else have we seen? Well, Gary Benson drafted Warwick mckisseeon or I got one more for you? Who I DMD the World Cup of Vegas Instagram saying I'm in. I got someone else for you. They said Alex Lynsky's in for World Cup of Vegas.
He wants to sign an Australia team. I said, well, we have two, but it sounds like Alex Linsky's on the way. Didier Gouren came into the hes twenty five K Fantasy. How our close buddy Paul Berman's on his way to Vegas. I think next week bringing me some some little treats from Australia. So I'm looking forward to that. He's also bring me a special present you won't get you won't go on a special buddy. Paul always shows up with presents for you, and I feel like I'm just there,
like means of shapes. But he's bringing me the present and that when you know, I don't know what it is, but okay, you know you know what I mean to. I mean to sports memorabilia. had from. All right, moving on, let's get into the news and happenings around the Horseshoe and Paris, and we'll start with the five hundred dollars WSP kickoff Freeze Out. Have to mention freeze out because so here's the deal. We talked about this event on yesterday's show. We talked about sort of our expectations for the numbers. I think I said five thousand to sixty five hundred. I said sixty five hundred. Yeah, so you have an excuse. I don't really have an excuse. I was just flat out way off
the mark. You thought that it was a re entry it was one entry, two re entries, unlimited whatever. Still that would help. I knew it was a freezer, and I still thought I was gonna get five thousand to sixty five hundred. Now listen, it drew well, three four hundred and eighty five entries. Nothing to sneeze out. Of course, I just
thought that there would be more people coming out. But I will say that while we were wildly off on our prediction there, I think we still painted the scene correctly by saying that, like it kind of felt like it was a very slow build, Like it didn't really feel like the buzz was here yet. I still am not sure I totally feel that yet, but that's fine. I kind of like this build right now. And I definitely think
we're gonna get hit in the face with it for the Mystery millions. Yeah, you know, well first first, I mean we're gonna get hit in the face of it a little bit with with tomorrow with the twenty five k heads up, because you're gonna see like the biggest, the best names, and like that's part of it. Yeah, you're not gonna get like the twenty thousand player field in the twenty five k heads up. But you're gonna
get a lot of big names, so so that's exciting. But still this five hundred dollars kickoff event and eighty five entries, five hundred and twenty three finished in the money, more than one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars up top for first place. I do know that Daniel Legran who is I think he's still in right now. They're I think they're a little bit over three hundred left. Maybe they're under the under the three hundred mark right now,
so they are into the money. Daniel Legran, who is doing his thing? Do you do you know who bubbled that event? According to the updates that are done by the Poker News team, they said, Sean Deep bubbled your arch enemy. Now you we're all giddy like a kid on Christmas morning. Took to Twitter immediately, Yeah, of cost to just absolutely shower Sean Deep. He responded in a way that made it seem like maybe he did
cash. Maybe And in these massive field events, yeah, they try and go hand for hand, but it's it's kind of chaos, like that's just how it is. So maybe there was multiple eliminations and he got like he got into the money somehow. So maybe he did. But yeah, I mean, and the reason why, the reason why, Tim, I mean, Tim's has this little feud going on with Sean deep but today especially we're over there, we're wandering, we're going through the field. Look I look
over, Sean Deeps has got his middle finger pointed straight at me. I'm like, what did I do? I'm like, Tim is the guy I don't agree with him in this feud. Yeah, that's you and him. He's like, you didn't draft me. You got Daniel for one thirty two. He's not worth that. Blah blah blah. I said, Sean, how many cashes do you have? He said? He said none. I said, well Daniel has one, and he said, I'm about to get mine right now. I said, well, Daniel's also still in, so
he's gonna get one too. I mean, I what do you want me to say? So far he is outperforming you. I don't know what you want me to say. Sean said something about how he helped carry us to victory last year. He did, yes, boss, you know we're all in on team Dan Eggs This year clearly most expensive player ever in twenty five K draft history and we are all in on mister quality over quantity. Sorry, Sean Love you mean it, But this year we're just going with Sean
Dee. That's they're sorry, We're going with Dan mcgranny. That's just how It is. Not a big deal. So I don't know if he bubbled or not. But either way, Shawn's onto the next event. And like I said, Daniel is at least right now ten thirty pm on Wednesday night, I think he's still in over there. Hopefully he's still grinding. Will be interesting though, if he does make it to tomorrow, because is he gonna skip the twenty five K heads up? This event was not on his
schedule of potential events. I don't believe so. I think he had forty five events on there that he posted on social media. I went through them all. It was fewer events than he has played in the years past. Of course, again he's going with that model for the year, quality over quantity, but he did mention with this one. He goes, you know, if that five K champions reunion doesn't work out, I can hop in
this one because it's only scheduled for two days. It's only a freeze out, So you know, I'm not gonna get sucked in there for six days or whatever the heck he got sucked in there for when he played that three hundred dollars Gladiators of Poker event last year and he went really deep. Right, Yeah, but if he does make it to tomorrow and has even like minimal success tomorrow, then he likely will have to skip the twenty five k heads up. I disagree. Oh he's going to multi table. I think
he can multi table good multi table. Away, Daniel, let's go, mister. Quality over quantity might not multiple It's not about Look, yes, it's quality over quantity. But the difference is with the heads up. There's sixty four players, right, and it's often this man. Every year it is some kind of negotiation like, hey, can we start thirty minutes la it? Can we do it? How much this time? You know you kind of that group of players that's sixty four. You know they probably won't
know each other. I think they're okay with, like, you know, making little exceptions where they can. Now, if the guy Daniel draws is like, no, sit your ass down and play, you know, Daniel's in the money for fifty probably you know, thirteen hundred dollars. If he makes it through tonight, I think he's probably just gonna let his stack blind out or runover. I'm all in go back to the heads up, so I feel like there will be some games when ship and maybe he can negotiaate
let's can we start in LA to give me twenty minutes or something. Well, the thing is is that the five hundred dollars kickoff is scheduled to restart at eleven am. The twenty five k heads Up is scheduled to start at noon, so at least he does have that hour buffer. I would probably
guess that Daniel. I have no idea, and maybe he'll tell me that I'm wrong or right, but my read is that Daniel would if he does make it to day two in the five hundred dollars kickoff, And please do that, Daniel, because you are you know, we spend one hundred and
thirty two dollars on you would love for you to do that. Just ballstal the wall for that hour, just just try and like ten x your stack or bust out of the tournament, you know, cause like it's just gonna take so much to like go really really deep in that thing still, so so you know, just balls to the wall, no big deal, like you have some fun with it and then you know hop in the twenty five K, that's what I think, So that's kind of what I think he'll
approach it. But who knows, right, I just think we'll see. Because of the event five hundred dollars buying, the fact that the main cash is well there, I think the second level of cashing right now, men, cash was one thousand and one dollars. Next level of cash was one thousand and fifty one. It's so small that the ROI he's giving up by like going to play the heads up doesn't matter that much. If this was like a five K buy and like the Champions or something, then yeah,
now that's a bit of a bigger decision. But the fact that it's so small was saying to me in the twenty five K. Do want to report quickly that Christina Gollins has been eliminated in the five thousand dollars Champions Reunion. A Ramzobian, the US poke Ger Open champion, took her out in thirteenth place, so that Champions Reunion is now down to twelve players saw that because I wanted to go over here to the blog for the five hundred dollars kickoff
event and see what's going on over there. It looks like they're still right around three hundred and maybe a little bit less looking at these chip counts. Jason Wheeler has been up on top for pretty much the whole time. Marco Johnson's doing well, define leave Alricabono, Ryan Reese is in there, Dan Shack's doing well Dan, and Legrand you it says he's still in there. Hopefully that's the case. Baby, let's go d nag. So yeah, I mean, we'll have more money or sorry, we'll have more information on
this event tomorrow when we see how it goes. We are at least currently it's on the schedule to live stream the final table. Still TBD on when that's gonna be, just because of the time of this thing. awesome to me. Someone's gonna someone's gonna have invested five hundred dollars, they're gonna have gone through a field of almost thirty five hundred entries and they're gonna win more than one hundred and seventy five k. Now if that's Daniel Legrandu, not life changing money, not a dream maker for him, right, Yeah, but for probably three four hundred and eighty people in the field.
Yeah, it's it's like that's a dream. So that's awesome Again, Tim and I suck at doing field sizes, but hey, what are you gonna do? Sometimes you're just gonna miss some things. Sometimes you don't read the structure she did and think it's a re entry. Yeah, that's you. I was just wildly off. Event number four, fifteen hundred dollars Omaha high
low. Speaking of entries, nine hundred and twenty eight entries in this tournament, one hundred and forty in the money, almost two hundred and ten thousand dollars for first place, So this one did have a dip A pretty pretty decent sized dip that this tournament always does extremely well. I think last year it was a record setter if I remember correctly. In terms of this tournament, the twenty twenty three fifteen hundred dollars Omaha High Low Field got was forty
three entries. Jim Collopy topped them all to win two hundred and sixty two five hundred dollars. Currently in the mix this year, we got Matt Lance out there, Sean Troja, Robert mss Rocky, Frankie Odell. They all looked to be doing well. I did see Phil Helmuth was over there. I don't know if Seande was able to make it after busting out of the five hundred and hopping into that one, but if he was able to get in there before Red close, I would imagine that he's over there. So
yeah, a good tournament here. The fifteen hundred dollars Omaha High Low scheduled for what three days? So we'll stay too to this one, see how it's going, and you know, updates you guys as we go. I guess. Let me just say that the Champions Reunion is scheduled for the live stream tomorrow at eight pm Eastern time five pm Pacific time comes with a little asterisk that you know, subject to change, I guess you know, depending on how they finish out. Again, there are twelve players remaining, so
we'll see. We'll see how that one goes. In terms of those finishing in the money. I just mentioned Christina Gollins busting in thirteenth place. We had Brian rast Poker Hall of Famer. Brian Rass goes out in seventeenth. Qui Win went out in twenty first. Last Wisby made him a champion standing Qui Win. Dan Zach twenty sixth, Dan Harrington, the legendary Dan Harrington action. Dan didn't. I didn't, not that I didn't recognize him.
I recognized him once I saw him, but like he didn't catch my eye because I didn't see the bright green flat brand of Celtics hat or red Sox hat, whatever the heck hat it is. Didn't see it. He didn't have a on so Dan Harrington thirty seventh, Carry Katz thirty eighth, Chad you Sledged thirty ninth, Bakes fortieth with Bakes because like he tweeted that thing
where he changed his name and I thought it was David Bakes. But it's just like, so it's gonna take me some getting used to there, Kristen Fox and forty fifth Daniel legrand who got a cash in fiftieth place, and I want to I've got day. I want to hit on this because with that cash nine thousand, one hundred and forty one dollars, Daniel Legrandu moved up over one million dollars in live tournament winnings for the twenty twenty four calendar
year. It is the sixteenth time in Daniel Legrandhu's brilliant poker career that he has won or cashed for more than a million dollars in a single calendar year. No one else has more than fourteen. So so Negranu has sixteen of those million dollar plus years. Then it's phill Ivey with fourteen. That is a group of five players, Steven Chadwick, Dan Smith, Isaac Hackson, Eric said, Allen Philhelmy all tied with twelve, and then you have Adrian
Mitteos, David Peters and Steve O'Dwyer tied with eleven. So grind New crushing in that regard. And obviously, you know, we don't know exactly how much he's up or down. I can just guess that he's up a decent amount on the year with all the success that he's been having. He does sit fourth on the EPGT leaderboard currently with eight hundred and ninety six points,
So Daniel's doing pretty well. He's trying trying to kind of write the ship from from last year when he lost more than two point two million dollars. If you didn't see his post about his video on the d on the Grand New YouTube channel at the beginning of the year, he posted about his results from the year before he gave the number that he did lose more than two point two million dollars. So this year, that's what that's what spawned the
quality over quantity approach. You know, go in to tournaments, spend a little bit more time focusing on select events, not just play anything and everything under the sun, and try and do a little bit better. And so far it seems to be doing well. But like I said, with that fiftieth place finish in the Champions Reunion, Daniel mcgrowney does move up over one
million dollars in live tournament aarians for the year of twenty twenty four. A couple more finishes here in the Champions Reunion, you had Mariajo fifty first place. We had Dan Weinman, last year's WIS Premintament champion fifty second champion, Becker fifty eighth. He's on the board for Team Becker slash Negranu File while land Entice is over there at the Luck Store playing the WPT Final table, which for some reason isn't being live streaming. David Williams sixty fourth place in the Champions re Union, Greg Merrison's sixty seventh, Maria Kannakova seventy sixth
event number two, the five hundred dollars Casino Employees event. Tim wrote here that this one's gonna need an additional day, so I'll trust him with the way that it's going. It looks like we got Jose Garcia up on top now I get to say this one. Seventeen players are remaining right now, So yeah, this looks like it's gonna need an additional day. There was some chatter coming from I mean, it was started. I believe it started.
I could be wrong, but Alan Kestler was at least echoing it on social media about some of the people playing in this event and are they really casino employees are they not? I don't know. It's interesting. It's an interesting debate. I think my feeling tells me they've always been a little bit lenient on the quote unquote casino employee like requirement here. But I'm pretty sure he didn't name names, but I was talking about Michael Holtz, Mike Holts
just my cults. Yeah, I mean, it's it's it's interesting because it's like, well, so Michael, he's referring to Michael, who is I believe, the reigning w sputity line two times true time. Yeah, I mean, listen, I like my great, great guy, really good player as well. And and he's in there. I believe, And and if I'm wrong, I apologize ahead of time. But I believe because he is now a co host on the Poker News podcast, so like that's how he's
in. But he's done what maybe ten episodes with them, yea. So it's it's kind of tricky because Poker News is an interesting thing. I mean, I can speak on this because I used to work for the company, had to had to deal with this sort of stuff. Same with you, but like when you had to work at certain places you were kind of employed by, or you had to get like paperwork for different casinos to work there,
you know, like PCA, some of the European stops. I remember one time, I think I went to like Iowa or something, I don't even know, but I had to have like a whole gaming badge and this whole damn thing. But you have to have like that sort of stuff, right, But like I don't think Mike Colts has to have that, right, So how does it work out there? So now I will also say that Poker News is owned by Flutter, which is a giant gaming company that
owns Poker Stars. They owned FanDuel, they owned Poker News, So does that count. I mean Flutter is essentially one giant casino, right, so it's it's it's just interesting, right. And there are some others as well that are you know, I would say, fall into that same sort of or at least more of a gray area similar to Holtz. I want to firstly say that this this tournament has been very leaning over the years from casino
employees. Do you see the Brazilian guy? Did you see that brazil There was there was or maybe it was a Portuguese guy, but there was either a Brazilion or Portuguese media outlet put it out there that like a Brazilion or Portuguese player played the casino employees event, not not a casino employee, and then after eight hours like realized that he was like in the tournament and was like and somehow like that he got informed or like somebody told them, well,
like when you go to cash out, they're not gonna let you cash out because I don't let you cash Yeah. I have no idea, but anyway, I don't I didn't really follow the whole story. Like so I didn't really get from the story. I didn't get if he like just took himself out of the tournament or like what happened. But it seemed like he like played for eight hours and like van in his that maybe he got busted. I have no idea, but yeah, over the years has been pretty
lenient. You know, it was casino employees yet to present a gaming batch. It could be expired, but gaming badge got you in. And then I don't know, maybe ten fifteen years ago whatever, when we were a poker news kind of expanded to be industry where you know, US media people could be in fine with that too. This year, we've seen some people in there that it definitely poker players first, then industry people's second. I'm going to throw out some names at you. I think you already mentioned Mike
Caels, I don't give a shit. Lucas Robinson's wearing a pocon news patch. He is on Game of Gold, Poker Player. He's part of the like poker news like vlog team Restreat. Okay, but I'm okay, that's what I'm not sure that's it's kind of that's you know, it's a similar role to like what Mike Holts does. Okay, kayln Kameski content creator, Okay, I kind of get it. Nikki Limo content creator, Okay,
kind of get it. Who's who's the other the girl? The other girl on the podcast with Chad and Mike kind of England kind of England, same thing, but Kinder and Mike definitely definitely poker players first. So yeah, it's it's on the fringe, my but I'm okay with it. I like the casino employees event. I think it's a good opportunity. Maybe it needs a name change, Maybe it needs to be casino and industry employees event.
And then sure, Nikki Limo, you want to bring your poker dot Org ten ninety nine and you want to bring your you know, husse casino live this, or you want to bring whatever it is to qualify you in. I'm okay with that. But what it says casino employees and you say content creat isy in that, I think it's leaves a bad taste in the mouth of the actual casino employees. Well, it's it's maybe I get blasted for making this analogy. Maybe I don't whatever. To me, it's similar to
men playing the women's event, because you can play it. If you're a man, you're just gonna have to pay ten thousand dollars to buy and you don't get that nine thousand dollars discount. Right, there's no like law against you playing, you know, but it's it's gonna be looked at you like extremely frowned upon, and it's gonna look like you're being disrespectful to the spirit of the event, which I mean, I understand that like this event the casino employees. I I like it, you know, I think it's I

time, quickly number one on that list. Twenty nineteen Dobasip Big Fifty twenty eight thousand, three hundred and seventy one entries, number two on that list. Also from last year's WICIP the WSIP Gladiators of Poker twenty three thousand, eighty eight entries, number three on that list. We got to go back
to twenty fifteen for the wsipy Colossus. It was the first ever WICIP colossus that year twenty two thousand, three hundred and seventy four entries for also the WICIP Colossus, this time from twenty sixteen, twenty one thousand, six hundred and thirteen entries, and then number five on the list, just ahead of the twenty twenty three Dobasipy Mystery Millions is the twenty twenty two Doubasip Housewarming twenty
thousand and eighty entries. This Mystery Millions was huge, and then when it was called the Million Dollar Bounty back in twenty twenty two, fourteen thousand, one hundred and twelve entries. So in twenty twenty two to twenty twenty three it grew by just about four thousand entries. I thought going into the WICIP that it would grow again, I thought we would get up over twenty thousand.
I'm wondering if I'm starting to back off with where my projection was on the wasity kickoff event or you know, but it could also it could also go up, and that feeling of mine could be right, and then I was just wildly off with the kickoff and whatever. Who cares, But you know, either way, I think it's I'm pretty sure it's a guaranteed fifteen thousand. I think that's a lock over fifteen thousand entries in this thing,
which is absolutely massive, and then whatever happens after that happens. So we'll see how it goes. What did it have last year? Exactly eighteen thousand, one hundred and eighteen.
