Hello, everyone, Welcome back to a brandw episode of the Poker Gough Podcast. My name is Donny Peters. I am joined by a very sleepy, sleepy Tim Tim Duckworth over there. Okay, hey, it's still thirty five minutes. The other day, you took another nap over there on the corner. I go the one that actually

took not two naps today. I took a nap over there on the corner. Earlier, and then I took a nap upstairs in the room, two naps and giving me GRAF because yeah, but I'm very much acting my age. But whatever, we'll talk about that later another episode for another time. Day one D the

final of four starting flights. There is still registration open for the two day twos, but Day one D breaks a record, which is good, and

we'll talk about that. We'll hit on who's doing well, we'll talk about who's not doing well and is out of the tournament, and then, uh, I guess we're gonna look at some interesting Day two seat draws for the first starting or the first day two excuse me, the first three starting flights one A, one B, one C, those remaining players combined for Day two ABC, and then Day one D has its own Day two because well,

Mathers on Twitter tweet. I did that the number he was told was four thy nine and eighty five for Day one D. He did say that that number could go down very slightly depending on some voided tickets. Yeah, it could also go up because at the time, you know, Day one D was still running and there was still some registration open. So looks like right around five thousand, which is a record correct correct smashed by let's let's say

one hundred and twenty three. Ish, I wouldn't say that that's smashing it, but okay, well it's it's come on, it smashed it one hundred and twenty three. I think that's pretty big. One hundred and twenty three percent. Yes, players is come on, that's not smashing it. Spas record that's been pretty pretty strong record. Smashing it is baking the record would be like a three or five, six seven, you know, twenty people, this is one hundred and twenty three. I think that's worth smash.

The word smash. Smashing is twenty five percent greater. Come on, yes, it's a tough I'll give you twenty percent. Okay, all right, let's let's let's okay ready countre Beta sprint record is like nine point nine seconds. Right. If you think someone has to beat it by twenty five percent for it to be smashed, it's a hard record to be. They don't. So, first of all, they don't ever use smashed when it comes to track and field because that does not happen because they beat records by like

that's beat it by like a second. That that like, okay, let's talk like maybe the second. Yes, it's smashed a second like point one of a second. I think when there's a record really hot to beate, if you if you somehow beat it significantly, and I think one hundred and twenty three significant in this Okay, this is the dumb like is this math? No, this is not, this is not, this is not.

The record was broken by one hundred and twenty It was not smashed, And it sounds like I'm trying to play this down and I'm not beating the record is an incredible feat. It's awesome, is massive. I I was bullish coming into day one d on how big this day would be, you know. So it's great to see that it actually delivered. Right, not always does the results meet the expectations. But let's not get crazy here. It didn't smash it now smashed is what happened with the WSP manament field size last

year. Right, This beat the record, and let's what that's what we should focus on. But let's not get too crazy with it because then we just, you know, we get all out of sorts. When it happened in twenty nineteen, was it was that day one c the third and final Okay, yep, So do you have like a final number where we're at

right now. Kevin Math also tweeted today at one point that they were over nine thousand total, which I think includes current Day two regis registrants, right it most yeah, it most likely does, But I don't know how many. I don't actually know how many Day two registrants you would already have in the system. Well, one was bot handsome. Well my reason is this, so less than one hundred you have. Let's say, let's say we finished Day one A. I'm just going to use the number just for the

sake of this conversation. You finished Day one A with and then they say, you know, there's over one thousand players in the field, which that can include the people already registered for one B, one C, one D, which a lot of people register for those in advance. If you're coming in late for day two, I don't think you're registering that far in advance.

No, not necessarily. I think there's gonna be a lot of people that register on that day, like are standing in line almost close to max late reg Also, there's going to be a bunch of people that they're not going to play this first day too, they're gonna play second day too,

so they will register tomorrow, so they're not already registered. So like, what I'm getting at is that when you say over nine thousand, I don't think the majority of the Day two registerrents are already included in that number.

So I think there's a lot of room to grow. Still, I would say, you're saying the data that are already voting and not included are You're saying this is not any bought in No, I'm saying that when keV math tweets out that that they're over nine thousand total, yeah, that includes Day two registrants, got it? Okay, I hear what. I don't think the Day two registrans number is big. There is that big. Let's say based on the last two years, we're gonna get around six to seven hundred.

Okay, I'd say it probably includes one hundred like Max, Yeah, I got a number. Yeah, these people that don't want to wait in line, they know they're getting a light entrance slips. They can really come at any time, you know, maybe they want to basically buy in, leave them money here while it's not busy, get that ticket, then go back to the hotel. So yeah, less than one hundred, It could be less than fifty. The number, a very approximate unofficial number I have

for the main event right now is ninety three hundred players. So if that's the case, we are on is the record in play? The record is in play. If we take losses Day two entrants basically seven hundred, seven hundred and three, we're basically at ten thousand. So we need a few a little it's in play, little what we'll called five percent bump, and we will it's in play. I mean, I wasn't sure it would be

in play. It's in play. So today we've mentioned five thousand players, and you know, you know, you want to quantify by saying it didn't smash any records four eight hundred and seventy seventy to twenty nineteen. The next biggest flight for a day three before that twenty eighteen, forty five hundred before that, forty three hundred in twenty twenty two, and before that we're in

the forty two hundreds and then thirty nine. So it's pretty big. It's such a huge day like it's in this it's a madness day, yeah, and that's going to definitely help us hit you know, ten thousand or ten thousand and forty four is the number to break the record. Ten thousand, seven hundred and fifty three is the record that WSPA chasing. That one maybe out of reach. I'm not only to say it's out of reach. I think I think it's going to be close. I think it's gonna come.

For that's a lot. Let's double. That's double what we've gone in the last couple of years. On the day two, I think we can get the double double that much of any would you just say we're at said ninety three hundred, Yes, and then if I think we're going to get another six hundred, then we're at ninety nine. No, I'm not talking about the WSP wants they want ten thousand, seven hundred and fifty three. Oh oh sorry, sorry, yeah, sorry sorry, they want they want the

one hundred, you want the hundred million. They want the hundred million prize for Yeah. Now, what I will say is this, if the number you want is one hundred million, yep, that should have been promoted for a year, agreed, or at least the last seven weeks. I don't like that. Seems like it's not that important of a number, because it was it was clear as day last year that it was important to break the

record. Now breaking ten thousand wasn't necessarily important, right because that came after And that's obviously a great thing to have happened to you, and it's amazing. But it was heavily apparent that they were out to set the record last year and they were going to stop at nothing until they broke that record from two thousand and six, which I believe was eighty seven hundred and seventy three.

So they weren't going to stop. They kind of got close the year before, you know, like it started like kind of sniffing it and people were starting to question it. Myself included you know, if we would get a record, then we didn't, but absolutely smashed it last year, And yeah, I mean that's what they set out to do and they did it. So I'm just suggesting that if you set out to get a hundred million and that's what you want, then I mean, go make it happen.

I think obviously there is some stuff that is out of your control when it comes to poker tournaments, but I also think that there's a lot in a lot of the operator's control where they can really drive things in the right direction to achieve what they would like to achieve. So if the goal is truly a one hundred million, then it feels news to me. On Day one D who do we got for chip leaders? Buddy? Top five chip counts? Scott Sewett, this is the unofficial chip counts. Scott Schewett three hundred

and seventy thousand, former thirteenth place finisher six one off said twelfth. That's a very big chip count. Jeff Beckley could be Josh. Maybe they mess up, but Jack Jeff Beckley three hundred and twelve thousand, Jay Josh Beckley played poker anymore? Who knows? Jay Win two hundred and eighty thousand, Dan, Tommy Laie two sixty one and America Stiller two fifty seven. Some players still in. We've got a couple of world champs. We've got Mind

Jacobson, But John mccannon, who are the worst champs? You said, a couple world champs? Yeah? Oh? Then you named him and I said naming them? Oh, I'm sorry. I gave up listening because I thought you went on to other names. May Jacobson, Joe mckea, Scottie Winn, defending champion Dan Wyman, also in the makes Brian Hastings, Arm Zerbi and I hadn't seen much on Dan Wyman Today's Other Room. I was

like questioning if he even played. He was in the Other Room. Matthew Woama, Stephen's Song, Phil Ivy, Nick Georgenti, Stephen Schidwick, David Peters, Brent Hanks, Christy and Alex Foxen, Bren Lynn, Phil Volpi, Phil lack, Tony Downs. There a couple. I guess we'll go

through some eliminated players. Chance Corneth played a very interesting hand to be eliminated, according to Donald Peters, who is through today to ABC, Sean Winter, ludvig Alis, Jeff Madison, Christina Goland, Sergio, you know, David William, Jason Kuon, Jim col David Lappin, Dylan Weisman, Nick Rigby, Dan Seppi, ol Dan Hi Miller, Jamie curse at A, Victor Blom, Mike and Tully, Vanessa Kaid, Justin Salieba and Maurice Hawkins

all eliminated. Okay, I mean that's a pretty strong list of eliminations. We did see Victor Blohm in the Loser's Lounge that I think he busted off the losers. As a joke, there's a little room when you walk from Horseshoe to Paris, and Tim and I joke that it's a loser's lounge. That's where you go to you bust out of a tournament. You walk, you got to sit down and like shoot some text off to some people. So you sit in the loser's lounge and you think about what just happened to

you in the loser's lounge. And we're never in the loser's lunch. Nick Rigby was he's out. I mean, Nick Grigby was top five stack or bust always. He plays nothing different, like that's just how he is.

The Chance Cornith hand was a bit surprising. He flopped a set of sixes on six five four with two diamonds, and then it came eight nine and he bet the river and his opponent jammed, and according to the update, he tanked for a while, said something along the lines of I don't think I can fold this and called it off and his opponent had pocket sevens for the straight. So it's hard when you see a hand like this because Chance is an incredible player, I mean, I think it makes sense to fold

that river obviously Chance had his reasons. I mean, he wouldn't have said, you know, I don't think I can fold this if he didn't have his reasons. But yeah it you know. Also, I mean we don't I say this in the commentary with all the time, but like we don't we don't know the dynamics of the table in full. Like sometimes you bring a table up in the third level with these guys have been playing for four hours before that. Maybe some guy is showing nineteen different bluffs, like you

never know what's happening. The hand as reported, did look a little bit ambitious for Chance Corneth, but then again, you know he's the one that's run deep in the WSP made event several several several times. So Sean Winter went busted with Kings to aces. Didn't you say a guy was dripped out? I think he tweeted that the guy was like dripped out, like dressed in a certain way that made him him call off with kings. He was

obviously wrong. I saw an update from Sergio Ido that I mean, Sean Winter and Sergio Ido are on our fantasy team, so rip to them in this tournament. Sergio Ido tweeted that first he tweeted or shared on Instagram top set of Ace is no Good and then he lost after that. Jason Kuhn, I always, I always feel like Jason Kuhn should crush this tournament. But I feel like he's never really gotten anything going. What's his Can you look up his deepest run in the WSP main event. I just feel like

he's never really gotten anything going. Last year he ran second last year, right, twenty twenty one? Oh yeah, two years ago, Yeah, that was here, right, yes, yeah, that was when I think remember Richard Seymour doubled up and they hugged each other. They were in the other room. I remember that one. But yeah, I don't know. I feel like at some point we're getting like at Jason Kuhn Top twenty seven, like a day seven, Day eight, Final three tables. He's got

a huge deck, he's just mashing on through. I feel like it's it's going to come at some points. Dan Seppiel, I'm surprised because I thought he was just gonna win literally everything. I thought he was just going to keep winning. Give us a break. What did he win that I'm referencing, Well, he won a lot of things. He's won AGT High Roll. The most recent things at Texas, he won the WPT World Championship.

Recently just picked up a nice little score in the WPT Alpha eight, Across the Road, Down the Road, win Las Vegas Cross, Turn Down, There went Down the Road, and the PGT title in Texas. I believe this concludes my commentary. Remco Rinkima and myself were doing Day one coverage, so it was a lot of fun to get in there for the main event, get those reps in, got to watch a lot of really fun play.

I still want to, I guess, warn people, but in a good way to look out for this player, Brent Barbie, who was a pretty wild character on Day one A and uh up a big stack. I don't know, I'm just I just get the feeling that he's going to make a deep run and we're going to be talking about Brent Barbie. He's the new Nick Wigby. He's good. I mean, he's not full Rigby, He's he's probably closer to a Darvin Moon. Oh, he's probably like a

Darvin Moon slash Rigby liked Darvin Rigby that works. Or Nick Moon is actually a pretty good name. Yeah, Nick Moon is a great name. Darvin Rigby is not so much a good name. He's in there blasting and he's playing. He's playing some wild hands, so you know, throwing caution to the wind. You know, you can catch some heat in this thing and make a big run and we'll see if that happens. So that's what I'm looking forward to. You want to hit on some interesting table draws. So

don't you know what we got? Well, you left me here for eighteen hours. You know, you're like nothing, what are we going to talk about? So I went through the seat draws, like, well, maybe there's something fun. I'm trying to prep for tomorrow. See what I can play. That's annoying to me, but okay, well we should be streaming from the first level tomorrow. I mean, I don't understand why we're not.

I don't understand. I started looking through the table draw today, Yeah, for this exact reason, because I was like, oh, like, I'll look through and I'll see what are some possible interesting tables and then I'll put them in the chat and whatever. And then I even asked at one point, I don't know if you saw it. I then deleted it because I realized that it was a stupid question because yeah, I said, you

know, do we know what tables we're going to stream tomorrow? Because I was going to start preparing the assets for marketing, which would make sense. It would be great to be able to market this stuff, you know, asap, but we can't because we don't know the tables, which is frustrating to me. Well, yes, we are streaming from the second level, so these tables may not hold in time for us to feature them. But I picked out some of that I thought pretty interesting. Going to start over

in Paris twenty nine. Jesse Lonis one hundred and fourteen K, Gisepe Pantaleo thirty K, Via forty seven k oh that could be some fireworks there, Table sixty five. Taylor Wilson one hundred and twenty K, Dennis trepcof forty a K, Jeremy Osmas forty six K. This one here has got feature table written all for at Paris sixty six, Karina Jet fifty nine thousand, Damn Mgrano thirty eight thousand, and Steve Couz Buckner fifty nine K. That could be a riot. That could definitely be a riot. Now this one

he had table seventy one in Paris, we could see fireworks. We got Zachary Schwartz one hundred and sixty nine K. We've got Florian ruby Chan two hundred and fifteen K. And then Phil Galfond he's returned in five years to the main event, got one hundred and eighty two K's be a part of that on Phil Galfon. Quickly I realized today because remember when I talked about Scott sever versus Nick Shulman for Poker Hall of Fame for next year. Phil

Galfon turns forty in January. Another one, when's the forty start for Hall of Fame? Is that you have to turn forty before. That's a good question. I don't know. I've seen at the other the day for my project one. Galfon's thirty nine turns forty in January. So he's another one, has a few bracelets, has obviously been played cash at a massive level.

He probably can all so be included. Like he's one of those people that's you know, was a player first, but you can I think you can build up some builder qualities with what he's done as a personality as a strategy person, you know, with run at once, all that sort of stuff, So I think that that plays into it. He's also somebody who is he's a massive face, massive popularity, so that might play into his favor as well. So you know, I just think that that was interesting

for next year. So yeah, I mean next year is going to be next year. It sounds like it's setting up to be probably the most interesting year in Poker Hall of Fame history as far as offe. I mean, you know, sever Shulman, Galfond, Right, what's gonna happen with Jeremy Osmas? He was on last year as a finalist, then he was off this year. I mean, he deserves to be in as a finalist in my opinion. I mean also like maybe should we should we be should they

be addressing the forty? What do you want to it's forty two? Young, Nah should be fifty? I would like fifty. But you've already let all these forty forty roos in. You can't really go back, Okay, But the question is how many people got in like when they were forty, because there are some that are that are snap first ballot doesn't matter, phil Ivy Snap getting in at forty, Danie Ronnie Snap getting in at forty right like that, that doesn't matter. I don't know if the change would matter

that much. I think I don't think that's the first change they needn't make. The first changing thing they need to make is more people. No, no, I understand, but I'm I'm trying to think about it, like, if you're going to make a change, just kind of overhaul the whole thing, address more areas than just one, and try and make it the best possible representation of a troop Poker Hall of Fame. Anyway, continue on with your interesting tables, Paris Aity, Eric Sidel one hundred and eighty three

K, Chamion Gold, This is a good table. One hundred and eleven K. Femi Fashigan sixty five K. Now, this table kind of intrigued me because they're playing Nolman hold them and these guys are not Notherman holding players. But Richard Greicho seventy two K Luca has one hundred and eleven K the same table, so that's kind of interesting. Now this is the table. What coming? This is the table? Put it on the main stage.

Horseshoe six' three four Jack Oliver third place finish at WSP Main event. He's fifty three K, Philip Ramos thirty eight K, high Stakes Crosses sturs you right, check one twenty one K Kangaroo Crew, Sean Regazzoni eighty four thousand, and Ryana Campe Super High Rollerball Champion seventy six K. That's the most stacked table. That's definitely not of on the sixty one the damn pages I

went through, that's not the table. It's the table. I mean, the Daniel table is better than this table, sure, but it's also in Paris. In my break, Phil Holmes by himself in ceat nine the worst seat to be out at a future table. But yeah, we'll see what happens. A lot of the these tables have a seat or two open. We're gonna have light entrance. We're going to have tables breaking straight away, pending how many people rock up on time. So that's going to change.

You know, maybe we get helm with Atnagrounder table. We're not gonna we're not really show about that, so we have a level to figure it out, all right. But that's some interesting tables I found. I looked through everyone that I thought, would you know, peaked peak my curiosity just a little bit. Yeah, tomorrow it starts getting a bit more real. Certainly

very much looking forward to the WSP main events. Somebody who else is looking forward to it who had a good start is Krai Aldemir, and I interviewed him after he bagged on Day one B, which was the July fourth Independence Day flight. But I'm an idiot and forgot to fully upload the file to the drive, so we didn't run the interview, so we're going to run it now. But Kai Aldemir will be coming back on a Day two ABC. He bagged up ninety four thousand and three hundred, had a pretty good

day. We did get to watch some of him on the secondary feature on that day. But here are Chorai's thoughts at the end of Day one B, so at the end of his Day one and then heading into day two. All right, Kari Aldemir, look like you bagged up better than you did in twenty twenty one. How does that feel? Yeah, I mean, I don't know how to feel about it if it's so strange. Yeah, I have like ninety four thousand, so yeah, pretty good day.

Do you feel like players play differently against you having won the main event before I'm not sure. Maybe a little bit some players, at least I think I think most don't. But maybe some players think it's fun to twy it laughing maybe, or some players the other way around that would maybe try to avoid me a little bit. But yeah, it's kind of not easy to figure it out for me. Why'd you pick Day one? B? We's

spontaneous? Actually I plan on playing tomorrow, but I want to watch the soccer game Germany plays tomorrow and some other reasons why I decide okay, play today? And I mean, you've obviously won this event before, so you achieved the best of the best in this event. But does it still feel special? It does. Yeah, it's still my favorite tournament of the year. Nothing cooler than the best structure, a lot of fun people. Yeah,

that's special. I don't see anyone at his table of note. Of course, you know I could be wrong, but yeah, it looks like he might have a decent table draw over there. But you know, as you always find in this tournament, you know, some of these people can just be absolutely crushers and you just don't know who they are. What are you looking forward to for the day two's I am looking forward to the six pm media free roll where I mean, of course you are, I mean

a big lass, longer, maybe win some money. I think first prize is a drone. A drone, yeah, so cool. Well I'm playing. That's like one of my favorite things part of the world series. Come miss that. I know you will hopefully be missing it. I'm missing it anyway. Yeah, I'm always missing it. So just quickly heading into day two, ABC they put the combined report on wsp dot com for all the survivors from one A, one B, one C. What you welcome. They didn't have that up. I had to go get it. Oh,

I mean it was up at some point today. So thank you, thank you to you for doing this. But you you obviously didn't address the thing that I'm about to say. Did you tell them about the chip leader? I mean, there's no way this person has six hundred thousand. There's any one way to check that. When tomorrow comes, you look at his bag. But they also have the power to go look at the bag now. No, but no they don't. The in towns are in one room.

The chips are in that room in front of I'm saying, they can't go talk to so and so you're gonna ask him to go find the bag and that day we'll open it up on counter. That bag. We know the bag system works. That bag is a in a bigger bag with all the

bags at that table. So just find the bag with that table and just check and see if this person has seventy five thousand green chips in there, then okay, they probably have six hundred k. But yeah, I just find it hard to believe that somebody bagged according to this chip count, six hundred, six hundred thousand, one hundred. Should we bet what the actual kind is? It's probably sixty one hundred, has to be, has to

be. No one, but between all the media where we were streaming, you are out there, like Kegan's out there, no one saw this person with six hundred thousands. Maybe he man window two hundred and sixty thousand more. I mean I even questioned the second place, to be honest, in the second place of four hundred and forty one thousand, that's so much as well, That's what I mean, Like, who's that Robert Pardo? That's

fake name. I mean, like four is now more believable, But yes, of course it's more believable now the third one, I believe because I believe we were tracking this player or no, I'm not sure we were name zay Ed Casim not, but I was. I saw him thousand. That's more. That's certainly more believable some of these other ones. I think we definitely know for sure. George Dolafan, Josh Figer, Yeah, you know, always one. Yeah, But I mean this six hundred thousand, one

hundred is just seems like the most absurd thing I've ever seen. Can we like, look this person up? I mean, this says it's a Japanese player. I'm curious if I should actually look.
