Hello, everyone, Welcome back to a new episode of the Poker Girl Podcast. As I dropped my phone all over the table a little bit excited because we have a winner in the twenty twenty three World Series of Poker main event. Oh baby, what a day. It was a fast day. Too fast, it was. It was probably too fast. I'm sure production was like, can we slow them down so we can actually make an episode out of this day? But you know, I'm sure they'll work up some editing
magic. I mean there was a lot of action. Okay, it was straight out of the gate. You know, you had Adam Wineman blasting away a lot of action or sorry, Adam Wineman, I'm just merging players. I'm Adam Adam. Adam Wyman would be Adam Walton blasting away. So yeah, well we'll get into all the stuff that happened. Daniel Wineman is the
winner. Twelve point one millie in the bank for Daniel Wineman. We'll also talk about some of the other stuff that has been happening at the World Series of Poker today the second to last day, the penultimate day, as producer Rich Ryan would say, loves that word, it's the best word. Also got a pretty wild announcement from the w SUP today. We'll we'll talk about that one as well. And uh yeah, I guess this is the second to last podcast. Maybe we'll do a couple more. Definitely do one maybe
tomorrow or the next day. We got to do our finale pod whenever. That's gonna be probably hopefully tomorrow, Yeah, hopefully tomorrow. Um, we're gonna try and do a special podcast with the winner, Daniel Wineman. Um, you'll hear from him when he talked to Karas Scott today. But then we're gonna get him on his own, you know, kind of like we did with Karai Aldemir a couple of years ago when he one the last World Series of Poker over at the Rio. So we'll get Wineman on eventually.
But let's get into it first things first, of course, like and subscribe to the podcast. Leave a review if you would like to podcast at poker go dot com. Ten thousand dollars WSP Main Event record setting ten thousand dollars WSP Main Event ten thousand and forty three entries, a prize pool of ninety three million, three hundred ninety nine thousand, nine hundred dollars, absolutely incredible, how large the event was, how large that prize pool was already mentioned, the first place prize twelve million, one hundred thousand, and of course, as Tim likes to say, plus the five hundred thousand dollars gold, diamond, silver,
all the I mean, the blinged out bracelet. I mean, it's crazy. That thing is absolutely crazy. The tournament starts today. Three players are left. You have Stephen Jones in the chip lead, you have Daniel Wineman in second place. You have Adam Walton in third place. Adam Walton came out flying out of the gate, playing I think every hand for like the first handful of hands, but his chips deck wasn't really going up. I mean it kind of went down and went up. It was kind of just
just bouncing around right where he started the day with. He gets in this crazy hand with Steven Jones, where Jones opened ace queen off Walton three bets ace king. Jones takes a little bit of time, thinks, calls flop, comes down. I think it was jack seven five with two diamonds on it. Neither player has a diamond, they both have black cards. There's a bet of I think eight million, maybe eight and a half million from Walton. Jones takes a while and he delects to raise to twenty two million
with just his ace Queen high. I think it was almost snapped that Walton announced that he was all in. It's like boom, all in, So he goes all in. Jones finds his cards the balk and we're just like, what the heck is going on? This is crazy. It definitely seemed like early on when they were three handed, that Walton was clearly attacking Jones.
There was a lot of playing back at Jones, a lot of raising and re raising, and then against Wineman he seemed to be a little bit more cautious on how he was approaching that one, which kind of makes sense because both Jones and Walton did express at times, you know that it's kind of unfortunate to see Daniel Wyman with so many chips, So it seemed like in a way they were they were worried about Daniel Wineman, the professional player
who's been doing this for a long time, has had a lot of success. That said, you know, Wineman's no out there like totally blasting away. He plays like a pretty safe style of poker. Of course he'll go for it at times, but you know, I think he plays a little bit closer to the vest in it. Then I got the sense that these players thought he played so that was just interesting, and I thought that it played out kind of that way to start. So then eventually Walton he picks
up two eights in just a crazy hand to bust. And there's been a lot of talk on social media about this being like a punt. I don't think it's really all that bad, given how Walton played. So they're playing one point two five million, two point five million, and Jones makes it six million on the button with I believe it was Queen six of diamonds. Walton flats from the small blind with pocket eights. Wineman is in the big blind and he makes it twenty seven million. He's got two aces. I
mean, what a time to pick up aases. Jones gets out of the way. Walton like as soon as Jones folds, Walton says, I'm all in for two hundred and nine point five million, which was I think eighty four big blinds pocket eights. Wineman snaps him off with the aces and here we go. Four million dollars is what these guys are getting paid guaranteed. The jump is two and a half million to six and a half million. I mean that's incredible. I know you're Wineman and you're have Aces and you're
snapping this off. But if Wineman loses this spot, he's left with like fifteen or sixteen million, so he's absolutely crushed. I mean, I understand the shove is like a very big shove eighty four big blind so maybe not shove there. But I mean, listen, if Wineman's got I don't know, Ace ten of diamonds Ace Jack suited, like, this play just works right, But if he's got Pucket Jack's, I mean, good lord,
I don't know, I don't know. I know it's crazy, right, Like do you want to take it up against like, you know, an queen of king queen stuff like that. I mean, I'm assuming Wineman thinks he's probably the best of the three players, and he might actually maybe followed that. Yeah, I mean, I don't know, you know, it's it's crazy, um, I mean I don't. I don't think the play was that crazy given what we've seen from Walton, Like, I mean the
guy goes for it. Yeah, Like so that's why, you know, I kind of expected him to go for it in this spot, and I think that this money just kind of gets all in here. I mean, maybe he can just call. Maybe he can if he does want to put in the forebet, put it in the forebet. That's not all in, you know. And then what does Wineman do? Does Wineman just flat being able to play in position? Does Wyman put it all in hoping to get called? I mean, yeah, so just crazy? The aces hold up.
Walton did turn a gut shot needing a six on the river. A six or and eight would have given him the double up here, but the aces hold up for Daniel Wineman, and with that pot, Walton goes out in the third takes home four million dollars. And then afterwards, well, well let's get into the interview. First, Walton's talked with Jeff Platt after he busted, and then we'll come back and we'll talk about heads up play. Adam Walton, third place in the World Series of Poker main event some
up for us. How you're feeling right now? I mean, it's been an amazing experience. Obviously, you know you want to, you know, finish it off, but it's been a great experience. Both guys have been great. So we're gonna have a cool champion to make sure I give off that rock. Yeah okay, but yeah, it's been a great experience. Couldn't have asked for more. Rail is great And yeah, speaking of the rail, I feel like you had a rail for the last four days of
this tournament. What does it mean to you to have that kind of support from them? I got a great group of friends. I'm glad that everyone I was able to come out and enjoy the experience with me. It's not every year that this gets to happen, so yeah, it was a great time. I know you said that it's not about the money. It's not something that you're really thinking about. Will you allow yourself to think about it
now? I mean, four million dollars is a lot of money, but like I'm not sure honestly how much like that changes like my life and whatnot. So, like you know, I'm gonna go buy a boat. Other than that, I don't really know what I'm what I'm gonna do. But yeah, it's obviously like a very large amount of money that I'm thrilled to have got. So is it gonna be a pretty sick boat. It's probably
gonna be a pretty sick boat. I mean, listen, you come into the final table at the end of the day, you know, or at the beginning of it, all nine players left you the chip leader of one hundred and forty three million or whatever it was. You're able to make that to three handed play. I think like when you come in as the chip leader and a chip leader in the way that Walton came in, you know,
he had a pretty big lead. Making it too three handed is the goal, yeah, I mean that's where where you ultimately want to end up. If you bust before three handed or before four handed whatever whatever that second day is, it can kind of feel like a failure in a way, not that you totally failed, because you know, you're probably cashing for seven figures unless you you know, somehow bomb out in ninth place, but you're
cashing for a ton of money, so it's not a total failure. But like you, when you have that lead, you can see the opportunity at ahead of you. You know, you really want to grab that and make it to the second day. So Walton did that, and he's got four million dollars in the bank. So I think it's great and he's going to be getting a great boat. So then Daniel Wineman, because he knocks out
Walton in that massive pot. He takes four hundred and forty three million up against Jones's stack of one hundred and fifty nine point five million, So just an absolutely massive lead. Here the blinds are still one point two five million, two point five million. There's a two point five million big blind anton when heads up play begins, and I think heads up play lasted twenty four hands, didn't really take that long that the two exchange some jabs back and
forth early on, but Wineman never dipped below four hundred million. I even think he never dipped below four hundred and ten million. Yea, So just kind of some small jabs here and there. And then the final hand was I mean, personally, I don't like it. I mean, I just I don't like the way that it was played on Jones's behalf. You know, I know a lot of people are making a lot a big thing about the eight hand from Walton. I mean, this hand to me seems probably
a little bit crazier. So this hand goes Jones is on the button, he makes it seven millions. So I feel like that's a little bit of a larger size to start given what you you often see in heads up play. But they're on the deeper side. So whatever, Wineman makes the call from the big blind. Jones has jack eight off, Wineman has king jack. It comes jack five two with two spades. Neither player has a spade. Wineman checks Jones bets six millions. A little bit of a down bed
there. Wineman goes a little bit more than three ax on a check raise. He makes it eighteen point five million. So check six million. On the jack five deuce two spade flop. Wineman makes it eighteen point five million. Jones makes the call. Okay, now, Jones, when he makes the call, he's got one hundred and forty six million behind. The turn is a four and off suit four. Wineman puts out a wager of thirty eight million. I think the pot was what fifty something million? Um,
so Wineman sizing up here. UM, I like it. You know, I thought in the momentum I think this was still or sorry, this was not on the stream with rem Quin. I. I was just talking and chat with some people as we were watching, and I thought that he should
you know size up here. I think it'll put Jones in some really tough spots, you know, if he's got some flush jaws, if he's got you know, a pair in his hand, if he's got like I don't know, the ACE five stuff like that that has second pair with a gutter, Now obviously you can target some some worse jack stuff like that. So
he goes thirty eight million. Now, Jones goes into the tank for a long time, and it was an interesting tank because like he's thinking for a while, kind of in his normal pose, and then he starts puts his hands onto the table and like kind of looks like he's breathing hard. Then the hands come back on the table, then the hands go back under the table, like like back and forth. I mean, I thought, I don't know the exact time, but it felt like this was like two minutes
in the tank at least maybe a little bit longer. Eventually he says he's all in, and I'm just like, whoa this is? Like, I mean, I just don't I think you're gonna fold out like everything that's worse and get called by better in this spot, Like I don't like what unless he's trying to target this specific kind of king Jack Hardy's maybe, yeah, but that's hard because that's hard to target the king Jackson, the queen jacks because you have a jack, there's there's jack on the board. So how
many people can have Jackson this spot? You know, It's like that's a little bit harder. Um, you know, So I don't know, I think you just should call here and then take a river and go from there. But so he moves all in U Wineman doesn't snap. Wineman, you know, stands up from his chair kind of looks over. Jones says, well, at least I faded the snap though, And then the dealer's counting down the chips because Wineman wants an exact count that you know. Wineman gets
the count, he makes the call. He sees that Jones has just three outs. He immediately goes over to his Rael, tells his Raley he's only got three outs. So both the players over on their rails. They got to sweat the river, the rivers in ace and that's it. That's all she wrote for Jones. Now listen, Jones played his ass off and collected six and a half million dollars, which is frigging Austin. I think he gained some fans definitely, Yeah, of course. I mean, listen,
the guy played really well. His energy, his positivity was very good. I'm sure we'll see plenty of him. Yeah, in the poker world. You know, he's he went. He's an unknown player before this. I know he had that final table to Classes years ago. I think it was twenty and eighteen, but you know, still pretty unknown player. But it'll be good to see a lot of him. I think that, you know, a lot of people liked what they saw from Steven Jones, and we'll
play his elimination interview right now. He also spoke with Jeff Platt on his way out Stephen Jones second place in the World Series of Poker main event. How would you sum up this overall experience. I mean, obviously, right now I'm a little upset. I think tomorrow I'm gonna wake up very happy and be very grateful. I mean, obviously, you gotta get lucky to get here too. Wasn't the way I wanted to turn out, but it's pretty tough to fold there. Um. I think he's got a lot of
combo draws. I was like back and forth in my head so many times. Such a tough decision, But kudos to him. Played a great game. I had a great time. It was fun. Do you allow yourself in this moment to take some pride in what you've just accomplished. Maybe not for the next ten minutes, but hopefully in a couple hours. I will. Yeah, once I go hang out with my rail and my family,
I think I'll be better. But it's a little tough right now. And finally, you talked about waking up tomorrow, You're also going to wake up tomorrow with a decent amount of cash. All that changed your life at all? Of course. I mean, you know, I can do a lot of things for that money, so start investing and set myself up nicely.
So that was Stephen Jones. I mean, I think you could get the sense in that interview that I know, like, at the end of the day, you win a ton of money when you get to this spot. We've seen it time and time again. You finished, you know, second, third, fourth, and you can make the manument foun table a ton of money that you've won, But you're also so close then to the goal, and the goal is to win, you know, It's like such a
it's such a weird thing. I can't imagine being in that spot. I mean, hopefully I'm in that spot someday, but you know, you can't imagine because you and you hear it from these guys all the time. Is like, you never imagine yourself making the manuvent foul table, even though you play as in every single year, you never imagine yourself winning the tournament. Right then you get to that point and it's like, oh my gosh, I only got to beat out eight peet people. I only got to beat
out a couple more people. If you're in Steven Jones's shoes, you only got to be out one more person, and then you're the champion. You're the one collecting twelve point one million dollars. So I think as the days go on, you know, as Jones mentioned there, you know, as he hangs out with his family and his rail and all that sort of stuff, and that feeling of busting second place, being so close, will subside
and he'll be a bit happy that he finished in second place. He's got six and a half million dollars in the bank now, you know, so good for him. Our winner, Daniel Wineman believe he was oh for ten in THESP main event before this. Yeah, never cashed. Can you believe the guy plays it every single year? Never cashed. I mean, listen, Wineman is a great guy. I know him, You know him. Everyone out there that knows him says the same thing. I mean, he's
just always laughing, smiling, having a good time, very humble. Um. I don't really expect too much to change from him. Um, you know, going forward, maybe the bets will get a little bit larger on the golf course, maybe he'll be in some bigger, bigger mix game stuff like that. Um, but you know, Dan Weinman, I mean, what an absolute crusher this this guy is. You know, he played so
so good. Have to mention also that the final three players that came back today the were the three players that were the three largest stacks when they were nine handed to start the final table. So all of those players carried over and then ultimately Dan Wineman goes on to win. After Dan Weinman won, Kara Scott hopped on the mic to talk to him. We'll play that winner
interview for you right now. Daniel. You came in with such a commanding lead into the heads up, and then that moment there where you see the river card and you go and your at your rail and everyone hugs you. What's going through your mind? Then there's so much stuff. It's it's it happened two minutes ago. There's a billion thoughts. It's it's really hard to
put into words. I've said it before. You play this tournament every year, you never think you're gonna win, you never think you're gonna final table, and for it to all come together so well, it just felt like I played the best I've ever played in my life. Just it's incredible. And you've done this in front of family and friends and so many of the poker industry in the community here. What does it feel like to perform on
this stage in front of them. It's unbelievable. You know, my best friends will tell you that I'm not the most confident guy in the world when it comes to poker. You know, I'm fortunate to be friends with some of the best in the world, and I've never considered myself one of them. Maybe that'll change a little bit now. But to put on this performance and really felt like I played my a game all the last two days, it's awesome. When we spoke earlier, you said you love your job,
you love your life. That's not going to change. So how does your life change after something like this. I still think my answer holds true. I mean, there's more money in the bank. It's always nice. It takes a lot of stress off of things in life. I still do really enjoy what I do for a living. I still will be out on the golf course very soon, and my boss can probably expect me in the office this week. So something that wasn't asked there. Did they make a deal?
No, it was this confirmed. Well, listen, here's the deal. I gotta give a shout out to Blake, Bourgeois from Hope Blake, I'm saying your last name correctly, who had a scoop for poker dot org, who said that he talked with Adam Walton. And because yesterday I said that the players had all exchanged contact information, I saw that happen. Blake talked to Adam Walton, said they couldn't come to an agreement, so they
decided to play it like normal. Then, if you're watching the live stream, you'll know that when Wineman busts Walton in third place, I believe Wineman is talking to Jason Mercier on Israel about like the possibility of now talking about a deal, and I think Jason said something like no play for it all, and Wineman was also, yeah, I have too many chips now, like we're gonna play for it. I mean, listen, Wineman's a gambler at the end of the day, like he's willing to gamble. Um,
So no deal. I mean I confirmed that with multiple sources that no deal was made. Um. I think Wineman himself when I think Matt Burkey put on social media, like you know, when they got to heads to play, like, he made a comment that said like, so you know they chopped it evenly or something like that, right, or did an equity chop or whatever, and Dan Wineman later respond and said, no, we got it all. So Dan Wineman one twelve point one million, I mean,
minus some swaps. We know a bunch of people that had had swaps of him out there in the field. So Wineman got it all. Man, I mean he probably had at least eighty percent of himself. I have no idea. You know, well, we'll ask him when we get him on the podcast in the next couple days or so. I'll grill him on the exact numbers. I don't know if they'll tell us, but we'll grill him on it. Funny note about Jason Mosier. He was tournament was on the way. He was rushing in to enter on that side. He had a
trifle of coffees, a bag some other stuff. He's about walked through and security he's like, no, you can't come through. So here's my friend's playing. He's like, I can't you know you need a wristband. And he's just like ah. He tries to call him. I'm walking up and I'm like, I go to security, can't let him in. I think there's no, he needs a wristband. Like he just flew in just now,
Like I'm just lying out of my ass. I was like, he just flew in to watch this his friend, his best friend is right there. I think he's no, he needs a wristband. So I was like, all right, security, he's not gonna fall from my bullshit. And Jason's like trying to call who knows who? Obviously I don't know. Maybe he's even trying to call Wyman who knows. But hey, Bud, I know you're busy, but can I get a risk band? Wait a minute, anyway, I find him a wristband, get him a ristband. He
gets in and he's on the rail the whole day. But I thought that was kind of funny. We tried, we both tried to bluff the security gun and he called us down. That day's high. I mean, they definitely need to somehow fix the whole wristband thing. Um, it's a little bit of a mess. Um, not gonna lie. Listen, I've had the opportunity. My good friend Gary Gates made the final table. I was, I was on the rail. I was working for Pocket Fives at the
time. Lance Bradley said, listen, you're off, You're not. You're not doing this anymore. We'll cover it from afar. No big deal, Go enjoy the rail. And I mean, I know, so I know what the wristband situation is like, and it's it's just a it's just a disaster. I mean, just just especially when it's three hn. Just let everyone up there who cares. It makes a good atmosphere, No big deal, you know, especially like listen, I know you need wristbands, but
like if the guy's wearing the guy's shirt. I mean she's like he's in the crew, right, he's literally day three, there's only three sections, like I get at the day day two two? You said day three, but day two, yeah, day there's any three sections? Right, fill up that rail, especially like for production. We should push for it too, because we want the rail to look full. We don't want any blank areas, so we want to put people up. When I first got here
today, there was a gentleman that walked up, an older gentleman. Um didn't have a wristband as well. Also, but he wasn't wearing a shirt. Um, but I don't know. Did Stephen Jones have shirts? I don't think Stephen Jones had shirts? Did Adam Waltman definitely had shirts. He had the A and W logo on him. What is aw Well, it's like root beer, it's a restaurant, it's all this different stuff. Um,
but so he had those. They were red shirts with those. Um, the Wineman ones had the emotions of a wine glass and a man. Terrible wineman. Yeah, I mean kind of terrible. So un had the idea that we need a stockpile infantry. Yeah, so so listen, Adam Waltman's crew. I thought they did all right, like their chance got better over time. Their chances were good today, so that they clearly did some preparation, some work and getting the chance better. But they had like blown
up cardboard of like emojis. They had a blender um, they had a fire emoji like stuff like this. Like when they had the fire emoji, they were like, he's heating up, you know, because Adam Walton was playing a lot of pots, winning a lot of pots in a row, so they like he's heating up, He's on fire, you know, the
old NBA jam thing. So I think we should just as the production team, you know, make a bunch of these like blowing up emojis, give them all out to the fans so they can do their thing, you know, all that sort of stuff. I think it would be a lot of fun. It would make for a more lively atmosphere. I'm also for noisemakers. I don't know the exact rules for the noisemakers, but I'm talking like
Kyle. But listen, the one knock on Adam Walton's rail is every time he won a pot, he did the truck horn pull thing with his hand, did he have a truck horn. They needed to have a truck horns. They needed to have a truck horn. Somebody bring the truck horn. Like like when, like when when Garrett Listen, when Gary made the final table his whole run. Every single day he put Mike Tyson punch out stuff that. I went to the costume store, I bought gloves I bought I
showed up like a boxer. I was ready to go from my man, that's what you gotta do. Okay. Yeah, And like Wineman's group, the least they could have done was actually drink wine. No, there was wine there. Okay, well I saw most I thought a lot of them had beer, and so it was probably already finished. It was already gone. Didn't even make it, make it to make it to the But the rails were good. Okay, the rails were good. Um, I think
some noisemakers would be good. I think bring back the voboz als. Let's go. I'm all for it. You know, we have a pokego vending machine down there in the ground. We should just put We need a second vending machine, just with noisemakers, whistles, cowbells, you name it, we'll put it. In there. But back to my story, there was an older gentleman that was trying to get in. He was talking to security and I heard him because I was standing right out there, and he was
like, you know, I'm friends with Stephen Jones. I play with him a lot of talking stick. I just want to get in there and get on his rail. And they were like, no, you can't. And I was like, I felt bad for the guy because like he just wants to like trying to get him Ristam. No. I didn't try and get him Ristman because I had to go do commentary. But I was like, I felt bad, like you just let him in. There's not there's only three rails. Let's go get him in there. Come on, you know
what, no big deal. I mean, they're they're monitoring that whole area, so if anyone gets out of line or anything, you just throw them out of it. Yeah. I didn't mean it was anything out of line either. Well, at one point they showed on the stream. I don't know what it was about, but they showed security talking to Sean Deep who knows that Sean from this But yeah, but listen, I think Daniel Wineman is great champ, a great Champ, a very deserving winner. We're gonna
see a lot from him. Um, you know, I think it'll be really cool. He made a comment to Remco ringing my aff to words that you know, all throughout the winner process, you know, afterwards, you're doing the photos, you're doing the interviews, you know, all that sort
of stuff. He kept just like looking up to the rights of the room from where he was standing at the final table and seeing all the banners, but the banners ended with Espen Jr. Stads and being like, I can't believe my banner is going to be next Espens next year, Like my face is going to be up there. That it just has to be absolutely cool.
And then to walk in here next year see your banner up there as the main event champ from the last year, that has to just be absolutely epic and you know, probably makes you a bit emotional when it all happened. So, as I said, you know, we heard from Wineman there with Krascope. As I said earlier, we'll try and get a lengthier pod
with Dan Wineman in the coming days. Talk with him a little bit more, talk with him about everything, you know, kind of let that adrenaline come down so he can really put into words, you know, his his run, his thoughts, all that sort of stuff. So stay tuned for that. We do need to mention that with the wind twenty three PGT leaderboard points, so he's up on top of the PGT leaderboard. I know he's not like poker these days, but I'm guessing we'll see a little bit of
him in some PGT events here and there. I mean the Mixed Game series coming up in October, the PLO series, you know, stuff that he enjoys. Might see him out there battling in that stuff. And with him moving into first, he knocks Chris Brewer into second, he knocks Isaac Hackson into third. Um, you guys can check out the PGT leaderboard over at PGT dot com slash leaderboard, and then all your PGT information over at PGT dot com. All right, big announcement today happened before play yesterday. We
had one announcement. We had Jason Clark won the main event for thirty years promotion. Okay, so he gets that, which actually a lot of people seem to be agreeing with him on taking the two one hundred k. I think you are all insane doesn't matter. Whatever, WSP Paradise. Yeah, this is the actual name. That's the name WSB Bahamas. I was like, no, that's not correct. So WSP Paradise December, December third. You know, this is Paradise here too, Like this is technically whatever Paradise.
Wherever there's a game, it's Paradise. M December third through fourteenth, twenty twenty three at the Atlantis in the Bahamas. Fifteen goal bracelet events, fifty million dollars in guarantees. The main event of this stop is going to be a five thousand dollars buy in main event, fifteen million dollars guaranteed. They're also going to have a fifty hundred dollars mystery boundy event five million dollars guaranteed. Um. They're gonna have one hundred thousand dollars high roller with five
million dollars guaranteed. They're gonna have a fifty K high roller with two million dollars guaranteed. UM, they're gonna have some polo events. They're gonna have a twenty five k gig millions. Um. They're gonna have a whole bunch of stuff. They're partner the WSP is partnering with the Gig Poker on this, and Gig Poker has pledged to send one thousand players to WSP Paradise.
And if those dates that I rallied off December third through fourteenth, ring a bell, that's because this is smack dab on top of the WPT World Championships. So there's been a lot of talk about that on social media. It seems like it's war between these two companies. I don't know how else to say it, Like you kind of stepped down our turf here, Like you know, the WPT put on two events. They put on the Everyone for One Drop that ten million dollars guarantee. They put on the one hundred and
eleven K one Drop Alpha eight tournament. So they put those two on during the WSP main event. Now WSP said, okay, well we're gonna go on top of your event in December, so also on top of APT product. Yeah, also on top of EPT product, which I think people forget because there was a lot of there was a lot of talk and listen, rightfully, so WPTD Championship last December, the first one was amazing, right, but at the same time, EPT PROC set records yeah, so,
like you know, it crushed. So now you have WSP Paradise in partnership with gig Poker, going to Atlantis in the Bahamas Smack dab on top of all of this. I mean, it just seems pretty wild to me. Um, I don't really know what else to say. I don't I don't know if the poker ecosystem can handle all of these events, but we're gonna find out. I can handle it, just not at the same time. But that's what I mean. I'm saying these three events at the same time.
And what I also find out that's interesting is what is WWPT gonna come back with? Okay, because wp came out with this announcement today they listed their guarantees. Now WPT has come out with the dates of their series in December. They've come out with the dates for the specific big events you know, WPT Prime, the World Championship Event, et cetera. They even announced the million dollar One Drop Tournament, million Dollar Buying One Drop Tournament. I'm
the big one for one Drop in partnership with one Drop. They've announced all those dates, they haven't announced the guarantees. Yeah, correct, So is was is sorry it is WPT. You know, what was last year's guarantee was fifteen million. It was a ten K buying fifteen million, ten thousand,
four hundred dollars buying fifteen million guarantee. So if they were planning to run back the fifteen million guarantee, are they now thinking, you know what, let's fight back, Let's go to twenty let's go crazy, let's go to twenty five. They got twenty nine million in change in the in the prize pool last year, so you would think that they would be able to push that envelope. Are they going to I don't really know how this plays
out. I'm guessing as soon as this announcement came out, you know, the WPT offices, the phones are ringing, the text messages were flying like you know, so I can only imagine what's going on. I think, you know, without this news, the guarantee was going to go up, probably conservatively to twenty million something like that. We know most of these operators
split the guarantee with the TUA. But now with this news, I think it's a lock to not just go up to twenty but maybe we see, all right, we hit twenty nine, let's do something like WSPT this year, how it was like, you know, let's break the record. Now, let's go to thirty. What did they get over there? They got sixteen million this for this everyone for one drop, Yes, like fifteen or sixteen million in the prize will. They put a ten million dollars guarantee on
it. So we know WIN likes the swing big. Win has also not just this is more WP. Yeah I'm getting into that, but you know when in recent years, Win has really been like, you know what, We're going to be the biggest tournament venue in Las Vegas and try and be the most important biggest tournament venue year round in the US. They partner with WPT. WPT's got WPT global. Now they're like, you know what, we need to blow up to December thing. They blew it up. They
made it absolutely crazy. They got a lot of love for it. It shattered all expectations, way more so than anyone even anticipated. Everyone thought that it was going to do well. It did way better than doing well. It absolutely crushed. We just mentioned the fifteen million guarantee. You got twenty nine million in the prize pool. What was the prime event WPT prime had it was I think it was a two million guarantee and I had like five
million, So you know, all this sort of crazy stuff. So now that ws AP and GG Poker come out with this paradise thing, I mean, what are you gonna do? Also, like, what are players going to do? I mean, I just think now there's a lot of questions and you've seen it on social media already, you know you've seen. I think Jeremy Osma has put out a poll that said which one are you picking? You know, because it's basically like for him, it's like, yeah,
these are a lot of guarantees. They're also bracelets, you know, you can chase all that sort of stuff that is an ex ship qualifier actually golden They played a video here right and on the video opening up the video and talking to a lot of it was Daniel mcgroni, which would tell me that Daniel's going. So if Daniel goes, he's just gonna skip out on Vegas. He doesn't really travel anymore. I know, he doesn't really travel anymore. He had that deep run last year in the WPT World Championship.
So is he just now going to go to the Bahamas? You saw Elkie there? Is he gonna go Jason Kuhne and another ambassador. Is he gonna go Jason Kuna has had a second kid like three weeks and make a tough firn. You know, is he gonna now travel to the Bahamas for this or is the great place for families? It's a great place for family. Maybe you bring everyone. You still got to get there with your family. I mean, listen as somebody who has one kid and has another kid that's
coming in a couple of weeks. I don't want to travel with my family when they're that young unless I have to. It's just it's it's not hard, it's not fun. But like going back to Jeremy Osmas, you know, is he just is he gonna pick here or is he gonna pick there? For someone like Jeremy and I feel like you and me both know him
pretty well. He does have two kids. It's basically Christmas time. I would guess that he probably sticks to Vegas at this That would be my my thoughts on him and very you know, and all this is similar to him with kids, family base in Vegas, seeing you back yond fifteen minute drive and then like you know, people from people from the Florida region. You know, we saw a lot of people from Florida came to Vegas for that December WPT World Championship last year. Well, the Bahamas is a forty minute
flight, thirty minute flight, So like, where are they going? You know, because for them, it's much tough for them, it's it's you know, you still have to play travel you still have to pay traveling accommodation in both spots. So you know, for the people in Vegas, it's a little bit different because you're at home. You can just drive to the
casino and drive home. But versus you know, flying to another country, you know, having to pay for you know, the accommodations there, and Atlantis isn't cheap, you know, especially in December when you know they're able to raise the prices a little bit because the weather is nicer in the Bahamas than it is in a lot of spots in the US. So that's a little bit of a different equation. But for the people that are traveling from let's say the Northeast, let's say you know, Florida, stuff like that,
where are they going to decide to go? I mean, it's just it's very interesting. I think the I I really have an answer to this, Maybe you do. I have any bane to the Bahamas once for for a poker trip. How easy is it to get money into the Bahamas and out versus you know, just flying a Vegas And I mean it's not you Chase Bank and Poll. It's not if you're like one of the higher roller guys and you're wiring the money in and out, it's not the It hasn't
seemed like it's been the end of the world. Every single year when when PCA was going on, you always heard horror stories of people leaving because they carried a whole bunch of cash on them. They didn't declare it, they didn't tell people like all this sort of stuff. So that's always like been a thing and been a HASP. So I more user error since Yeah, I mean, you just have to be smart about everything. So I don't
know, I don't know how this is gonna end up. Um. I think I would best describe my feeling towards WSP Paradise as popcorn dot if and I'm just gonna I'm just gonna sit here and like watch these two fire at each other, and then what's poker star is? Gonna do. Like they're kind of like they're like not in the middle. Like everyone's clearly on social
media has been like, oh it's WSP versus WPT. I think look, if you look at the APT Prague results and players from last year, it's very very European heavy, and I don't think those people are We're going to travel anyway, you know why. It's the same kind of constant you have something in your backyard. It's a very big popularist stopping at what I've been taught a fantastic city in December. Yeah, so I don't think is awesome
in December. But my question is if if you're from Europe and you know Gigi Poker is qualifying at least a thousand players from the rest of the world, right, are you then going to go to Bahamas because you're chasing the qualifiers and that's quote unquote soft money. Like so it's just going to be interesting to see what happens from all this. Well, I'm really I'm interested to see what happens. I'm interested to see where the players go. I'm
interested to see the guarantees of the WPT eventually come out with. I mean, this is like this is huge news right now in the poker world. I think a lot depends, you know, w has to be haven't released that schedule, and that's going to matter the most because I'll throw you some dates right now. Wp T Prime Championship starts on December seventh, The EPT Produe has a fifty K high roller on the tenth, then they have a
their five K main starts on the eleventh. World Championship starts the twelfth. So depending where WSP puts their main event, you could, in a way, maybe if you have a private jet, play all three main events. Yeah, I mean, that would be definitely at least perfect. You could definitely maybe play WSP and still play the World Championship, or play the WSP play Prague. There's ways you can do it. It just really depends where and how WSP structure their events in that December block. Yeah, I mean,
it's gonna be very interesting to see how this one plays out. I'm not really sure, you know, kind of where I sit right now and at all. I'm just going to kind of wait and see how it goes, wait and see what these guarantees are for the WPT event. I mean, maybe they pull back too maybe they don't go as big because they see this as you know, a possible threat to the player pool. I don't
know. And then I want to say, you know, if the if the poker economy or sorry, if the poker ecosystem, the poker community is able to take these three massive events. We've also heard that, you know, January is going to be wide open for poker um. I mean, I think we're targeting poker masters. I think the Borgattes stuff is probably coming back for the bet MGM poker stuff in the Northeast. But we've heard that
PCA isn't going to be coming back. So that's that's the room and nothink confirmed ry Now, obviously January is normally out poker a cup window, and we also there hasn't been allasy millions in quite some time now, and that's
never kind of its going from. Yeah, so it's like, would something like this WSP paradise been better suited for January, you know, if, especially if PCA's not coming back, because then you literally just replace them, just replace it, you know, which is a stop that everyone always seemed to want to go to, so you know, and then you could just own all of January. You're the kickoff event for the entire poker calendar all that sort of stuff. So I don't know, it's gonna be really fun
to see this all play out again popcorn dot gif watching from Afar. I think selfishly for us, um, we have to stop thinking about, you know, our PGT Championships right in the middle of everything. What are we going to do? Should we maybe move that to early January? Yeah? I don't know, man, I don't know. We have to take a
long look at it. And you know, the good thing. The good thing about our stuff, and I know you'll agree because you're always doing this, is we have a pretty small player pool that we draw from, and we are able to talk to that player pool immediately because it's only so many players, especially for the PGT Championship that'll ultimately would be forty players plus some like Dreams winners, So you know, we'll be able to be like, oh, hey, Jeremy Osmas, what do you think, Hey, Daniel
Garni, what do you think, hey Jason Kohen. You know, like we'll be able to talk to those players directly and feel that stuff out, you know, a little bit easier than trying to like gauge the masses and make a big guess. So exactly, that's a little bit of a benefit for us there. But you know, we've already planned this thing for December, so we'll see a city in January, and thanks for making us move
it. We'll figure it out. Not to worry, all right. The fifty hundred dollars Closer Event three thousand, five hundred and thirty one entries. Pierre Schum wins it all six hundred and six thousand dollars four. Pierre, you had the ten thousand dollars. Nolaman hold him six max five hundred and fifty entries. Alexander reared, winning it all for one million, fifty seven thousand and his second World Series of Poker gold bracelet. The three thousand dollar
Horse Tournament is still playing out. Um. They're up on the horseshoe table in the middle of the room. Still five players remained from a field of three hundred and thirty one, two hundred and eight thousand dollars. Up top, Calvin Anderson looked like he had the biggest pile of chips I've ever seen. I mean, it was so big. He's got nine million of the we'll call it fourteen million, just crushing. Ryan Miller still out there.
Ryan Million won the ten case stud eight earlier this world series. Leonard august Is in, Barbara n Right is the only woman to make the WS Main Event final tables that nineteen ninety five, and then Andrew Yay is also out there. And these final five players are guaranteed just under forty five thousand dollars the one thousand dollars noem and hold him freeze out. Nine players remain from a field of one one hundred and seventy more than two hundred and thirty six
thousand dollars up top for the winner. Kane Callis is leading the way, Eric Msaki is still in, Asher Khanoff and Vanessa kade Ian Steinman made a very very deep run yes in this one, finished in what eleventh place, getting us I think twenty two points for twenty five K fantasy and that in combination with Sam Silverril running deep in the ten K short deck, I believe has put Team DPMC, my team alongside my captain Matt Clark, back on
top in the race with Team Lady Gaga. This thing is coming absolutely right down to the wire. It's not good for my stress levels whatsoever. Still a couple events left to play out. There are some players in some of these events that are going on today, So I mean, this is just gonna be a sweat to the absolute bitter end, just unbelievable. And then speaking of that ten thousand dollars short deck, they're down to seven one hundred
and six players. One hundred and six players entered the field two hundred and seventy thousand dollars up top. John Juwanda is leading, Eric Wasterson still in as is Chris Brewer. Sam Silverl went out in ninth place, So what does that get us? It's ninth place is what twenty points plus the field bonus on once, so twenty No, he went on eighth place, right, who went out in ninth? I think Martins of Money went out in ninth. Yeah, Martins of Money went out in ninth. Sam Siverl went
out in eight, So that's thirty points for us. Field bonus is one, so thirty one, so we got twenty two from Ian. We also got a point from John Reardon King. John Reardon the third narrowly missed out in the field bonus. Also in that one k frees out that Ian went deep in. But hey, you know, we'll take the point. Let's go John Reardon, he's over in the five K battling it out over there.
So we got one point from him, we got twenty two from me and Steinmon, we got thirty one from samp AND's overall, let's go. Now we have to fade everything else. We have to hold on for dear life. Let's freaking the exact time when in tomorrow's one k's super turbo when we would love some live reporting just to see who's out, who's drawing dead, and who's gonna win it. Hopefully it's us, Yeah, hopefully it is us. I mean, listen, Samasa, I was gonna I was
gonna go to the win tomorrow and play this casino employees. Now you're not. Event Now I think I'm just gonna have to be here biting my nails the whole time. Feels like you should do a live twenty five K. It's just it's not gonna be good for my health to be able to have to sweat this till the end. Um. But yeah, I mean, listen, good luck to our guys out there rooting for you to do very well. Get us this victory. Would be a lot of fun to take
this thing down. That is twenty five k fantasy after all these years that we've been out there battling in it. Um the five thousand dollars noem and hold him eight handed is over eight hundred entries. Just freaking bananas over there. Two day tournament. Um, we'll finish out tomorrow. I think it's got thirty minute levels, right, it might end up still being a three day tournament, so there's gonna extend the entire So being by a day,
they would have to extend the entire it started today. Tomorrow's the final, get to like five and we want to back with three am the like uh, I mean, I don't know, I don't know. They'll probably finish it out. I mean I just want that to be a SAT that'd be awesome. Yeah, you guys can finish out, but you're gonna have to go to the whole shoe pucker room and playing one twenty four with you.
That'd be kind of cool. Whatever. So yeah, so that's going on and then tomorrow the final event on the schedule, one thousand dollar turbo. It's probably more like a super turbo right because it's it's it's a one day event. Yeah, so, um, the ultimate summer saver. I guess we'll see. We'll see who's out here battling in that one trying to save their summer, get some money, back break even all that good stuff. Poy, what's going on with that? Well, he and his still ahead.
But okay, we've got Cris Brewer in the ten k short day. If he wins, he takes the lead. However, his third bracelet. I mean that feels like that should be the winner, you know, like the but some online results. We've obviously got the five K that's playing. Now, we've got the one K tomorrow. It's not over legitimately. I think five people can win. I mean that's just Chris and and everyone.
I think everyone that wasn't in Daniel Wyman's rail is in that five k. Like everyone's yeah, we already message the end, you know, to talk. Hey, you know, we don't want to drink see blah blah blah, but if you happen to win, we would like to speak to you, et cetera. And he's like Ian motiguous, I'm playing the one K so I can talk on break or if I bust, I'm like, hopefully you win it and we'll talk to you after you win. Of course,
it's gonna come down to the wire. Um, you know you're sweating twenty five K fantasy. I'm sweating Poy because I'm gonna have the interview whoever ends up being the win whenever it's official. Um, So the main event might be over, but our work continues for at least another twenty four ish plus. Alice absolutely crazy. All right, well that's gonna do it for us. Um again, we're gonna family pot No, no, let's say, Um, I want to get out of here, that's what I want.
Gonna go set the five K with me. I mean, I'm gonna walk to the field and see what's going on and then you know, possibly leave. Um. But yeah, um, as I said earlier, we'll get Daniel Heineman on the show for an extended pod at a later date, so stay tuned for that. And my name is Donny Peters. His name is Tim Duckworth, and we'll talk to you guys later face
