Episode description

The Bears had put the NFL on notice with a big win over the (then) Redskins a couple of weeks prior, but they had a big score to settle when they went to San Francisco in week six in a rematch of the 1984 NFC Championship game. The Bears punched the Niners in the face early and often, Jim McMahon made some great throws (and one absolutely horrible one) and when it was time to finish things off, they did what they did best on offense, they gave the ball to Walter Payton, a lot. The defense harassed Joe Montana from the very start and the Niners were so overwhelmed they committed a lot of penalties. Some rookie wide receiver for the Niners made his first-ever start. Let's just say there are a LOT of Hall of Famers in this game. Dick Stockton and the immortal Wayne Walker were on the call for CBS. And wait until you hear the breakdown of Wayne's NFL career. It's really something. All that, and much more.
