Alan Campbell won Olympic bronze at the London Olympics winning Britain’s first Olympic single scull’s medal since 1928. He is relentless in his pursuit of the Olympic gold medal in Rio 2016. “Single sculls is the blue riband of rowing, the event that Sir Steve Redgrave admitted was too tough for him” – Patrick Kidd – Daily Telegraph. Alan has considerable experience as a business and motivational speaker having spoken to numerous business groups and companies including the Open University and the leadership and MBA programmes at Oxford’s SAID Business School. As an athlete his career revolves around the need for planning, teamwork, determination and resilience all of which apply equally to successful leaders, here Alan shares some of his experience and thoughts about the parallels to be applied between elite level sport and gaining success in business.
