Welcome back to Podcasting 2.0 in Practice.

Introducing this episode

The only thing missing from the Wallets homework episode episode 28 was withdrawal from TrueFans, since that function was not up and running at the time of release. But now it is and it is super easy to take money that your listeners have sent you through Super Comments and streaming out of your TrueFans' wallet and into the real world.

This is my final holiday homework for 2025, so the last chance I will get for now to remind you that the best way to listen to this episode is if you have also already listened to the Podcasting 2.0 in Practice course. This is a podcast series that looks at just one 2.0 feature, also known as a tag at a time, and teaches you what it is, why it's good, and how to make it work.

The course focuses specifically on how each feature can help podcasters with discovery, interactivity or monetization or a combination of the three

Creators Dashboard

as I described in episode 28 you will need to locate your creator's dashboard using the desktop version of TrueFans rather than on the app. Click on your avatar at top right and scroll down to Creators Dashboard. Now click on the pencil icon for your show. P.S. if you haven't claimed your show, you won't be able to do this, but I explain how to claim your show in the podrol homework episode episode 19 and you can use the chapters in that episode to get straight to that instruction.

Start the withdrawal

On the Creators Dashboard screen you you will see a nice bright purple button labeled Withdraw. FYI. The Buy button next to this one allows you to buy advertising on the TrueFans homepage, which you can find out more about by listening to Creators from TrueFans, a podcast all about independent podcasting from Sam Sethi and I, and in particular creators from TrueFans episode 10. Back to the instructions. Click on Withdraw. Then

Sort your Stripe out

to begin enabling a withdrawal through Stripe, click on Fiat, fill in the amount you want to withdraw and click on the Withdraw button. If this is your first withdrawal, you will need to answer the questions from Stripe to join an existing Stripe account or connect to a new one. Once this is set up, repeat the withdrawal steps to make your first withdrawal. Now. Once Stripe is connected, future withdrawals will happen straight away. Now go buy yourself a well deserved treat.

Thanks to your lovely listeners.
