Funding Update: Holiday Homework

Welcome back to Podcasting 2.0 in Practice.

In this series of Holiday Homework episodes, I'm bringing you a few updates to the Podcasting 2.0 features we learned about in the first series of Podcasting 2.0 in Practice. As I have mentioned before, if you are new to the subject of Podcasting 2.0, I suggest you complete the podcasting 2.0 in practice course. This is a podcast series that looks at just one 2.0 feature at a time and teaches you what it is, why it's good, and how to make it work.

The course has a specific focus on how each feature can help podcasters with discovery, interactivity, or monetization, or a combination of the three.

For this update, we're looking at the Funding feature, which was the subject of episodes 11 and 12. The Fab News is that Pocket Casts now supports the funding tag when you are on the show screen. That is the screen that lists all of the episodes for that podcast, rather than the screen that shows the episode you might be listening to. Under ratings, you will see a symbol representing a coin being popped into a slot. Click on this symbol to be taken to the podcaster's chosen donation platform.

It's worth noting at this point that Pocket Casts has updated their user interface design since I previously put out instructions in the homework episodes with a white background in many cases, rather than the black one you will see in chapter art in past episodes of Podcasting 2.0 in Practice.
