Hey everyone, Ashley here with RSS.com. In this mini-episode, we're going to talk about visual descriptions in podcasting. A visual description is an important tool for making podcasts more accessible to listeners with vision impairment. Through the use of audio and words, visual descriptions provide a vivid sensory experience that enhances the podcasting experience for those with sight loss.
So in this mini-episode, what we're going to do is basically give you examples of what visual descriptions sound like. I'll go first. My name is Ashley and I'm sitting in Richmond, Kentucky and it's a brisk 43 degrees outside. I have blue eyes and brown hair and I'm sitting in front of a gorgeous backdrop that has an RSS.com logo. Hi, my name is Lloyd. I'm currently in Bethesda, Maryland. It's roughly 56 degrees and I am in a room with a blue background. My eyes are brown.
I'm wearing a hat, but my hair is black. My name is Jamie Kennedy. I am the founder of Brave Moon Podcasts. So a little bit about where I am. I'm based here in Sydney, Australia. So I'm across the world from Ashley at the moment. I am sitting with a white background behind me. I just have a little flower vase next to me and yeah, I'm sitting at my desk and I'm ready and excited to talk to you guys about workflow, podcast workflow. Hi, I'm Jenny and I'm coming in from Houston, Texas.
I am coming in live from my office. It is quite messy, but that's how we roll around here. I have brown hair and green eyes and yeah, that's pretty much it. And there you have it. That's what a visual description and podcasting sounds like. We encourage you to start using them in your own podcasts so that you can help those with vision impairment. Thanks for tuning in.
