The World Needs A Hero! After the negative reception of 1999's 'Risk' Dave Mustaine made the decision to have Megadeth return to their thrash roots. Megadeth's 'Youthanasia' was the follow-up to the very successful 'Countdown to Extinction'. It had a huge act to follow. Released in a completely different music climate than 'Countdown' Youthanasia sold well and was received well overall. Megadeth moved their recording operation to Arizona for this record, and built their own studio for this project.
