Last episode, we saw various Pearson clans on their way home from the hospital. This week, we saw a variation on that theme with three groups of Pearsons having super mega-uncomfortable dinners. Even though this season has felt a little disjointed thanks to the COVID-related slowdown of production, it’s important to realize that this is episode 10. Normally, this would have been the first episode back from the winter break, thus ringing in new storylines to take us through to the season finale. That’s why this episode unleashed several can of worms into the Pearsons’ lives.

Such cans of worms included:

• Jack’s promotion at work and Rebecca’s juggling the money at home
• Beth’s mom Carol coming to live at Randall’s house
• Uncle Nicky unexpectedly visiting Kevin and Madison
