The Heroes follow the line of retreat of the Gwynedd warband they defeated and arrive at the Christian settlement of Brangarw where demonic flames have consumed the church but left a messianic priest unharmed. Exhausted villagers are energized by a fervour explained when a wolf visits to a dangerous bog. Then there's a sign of the Old Gods and a conspiracy is revealed before a Sword of God defies his maker ...
