15. Hristo Kaloferov: Coaching and Studying in a 2nd Language
Episode description
Hristo Kaloferov is a Bulgarian native and the NPL boys Director at East Meadow Soccer Club where he has held several positions in his 8 years with the club. He is also a USSF Licensed coach and graduate of Molly College where he played for 3 years after transferring from St. Johns. I first met Hristo in 2014 where we both participated in the USSF National Youth License in Hicksville NY. I have also assisted him at East Meadow tournaments guest coaching teams in their tournaments and coached together in the clubs Intramural and summer camp programs. Today we talk about Hristos journey from Bulgaria to the US and how learning the English language opened up the door to playing, studying and coaching in New York.
