Episode description

In this episode, Alex interviews serial entrepreneur and LSE graduate, Joel Alexander. Joel has built multiple businesses, including ReShape, a Gen Z consulting business which he built after watching local businesses start to fail because of the devastating effects of COVID-19. Joel is also in the process of building a social crowdfunding app which is publicly known under its ‘stealth name’, ‘CrowdPad’. It is essentially a community which takes you through the lifecycle of a crowdfunding company from idea to a successfully backed campaign.

We discuss Joel’s journey as an entrepreneur and how he managed to do it all as a student. Here’s what we talked about:

-  Joel’s businesses, what they are and why he started them.

-  Starting a business as a student and how to prioritise effectively.

-  Building a good team and the hiring process.

-  Key tips for students and young people.
