PIT PASS INDY – SEASON 4, EPISODE 1 – Remembering the great Gil de Ferran and the legendary Cale Yarborough January 2, 2024 Pit Pass Indy pays tribute to two racing giants in the opening episode for 2024. Gil de Ferran, who won back-to-back CART Championships in 2000 and 2001 and was the winner of the 2003 Indianapolis 500 for Team Penske, suffered a massive heart attack and died on Friday, December 29 in Opa-Locka, Florida. He was 56 years old. NASCAR Cup Series legend Cale Yarborough died on Sunday, December 31. The four-time Daytona 500 winner, three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and four-time Indianapolis 500 starter was 84. Show host Bruce Martin has an exclusive interview with Team Penske Special Project Manager Jon Bouslog as we pay tribute to Gil de Ferran.
