It is a struggle being a Black Feminist who loves hip hop. Part of you wants to shake yo ass to the beat and the other part cringes when hearing objectifying lyrics. Literally, I have paused in clubs/parties to listen to how degrading some lyrics are.
In honor of the recent Gucci vs. Jeezy Verzuz battle, I am reminiscing on how and why I became a Gucci fan. More importantly, I am highlighting why you cannot judge Black women for loving trap music.
