Maya Angelou IS Black Culture

Happy Black History Month!! Even though we should be celebrating our culture everyday, lets take this month to reflect and admire how far we have come. I enjoy the freedom of expression that black people have, we are not afraid to speak our truths whether it be pain, joy or both. Maya Angelou is a black iconic HERO. From her memorable voice to her captivating words, she embodies the black experience like no other. As a black woman I can't help but be compelled to live in her truths and take her words as though they were my very own.
