Episode description

How do you compose the subject in your photograph to make it look the best? Are there any rules or guidelines to help in composition? Today’s podcast is all about composition and how to compose subjects in the frame. The goal is to get it right in camera to make post-production easier and less time consuming. We will cover three basic rules of composition and then offer a few additional suggestions when composing a subject. We will also discuss when it might be right to break these rules. At the end of the podcast you will be given the opportunity to take on an assignment to help you learn more about composition. You are encouraged to upload your photographs to our Flickr account here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1763280@N24/

The assignment is:
1. No Bulls-eye
2. Horizon Line
3. Rule of Thirds
4. Break one of the rules

The best photograph in each category will win an 8×10 photograph of any of the nature photos on my website. Deadline to submit your photographs is November 15, 2011. Good luck!
