Laneka Allison is beginning her 20th year as an educator. As a product of Prince George’s County Public Schools, she takes great pride in her profession and understands the importance of education and the power of human connection and building relationships. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Bowie State University and a Master’s of Education from George Washington University. She has worked in varied populations and has served in many roles; school and district based. Her most recent position prior to her appointment as Assistant Principal was at Greenbelt Elementary school as the Math Instructional Lead Teacher (ILT); where she was instrumental in helping build teachers’ capacity by leading collaborative planning, modeling engaging, interactive lessons in math, as well as helping teachers understand how to use data to drive instruction. Additionally, she has served as an Intermediate Math and Science Teacher, Intervention Resource Teacher, and a Technology Teacher.
