Peter wrote many short stories. We frequently uncover a new one while leafing through his higgledy-piggledy pile of papers. "Steroid Steve" is a big/small story told in first person autobiographical mode. It's fiction, so any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental. Bodybuilding is a world of extremes, and Peter portrays it well in this piece set in 1970s Venice Beach.
