Numbers 1 & 2

In Numbers 1 & 2, God directs the Israelites to take inventory as they prepare to go forward into the wilderness towards the Promised Land. There are millions in the nation now. God's promise to Abraham has proven to be a reality. God never fails, keeps His promises, and is trustworthy. The order and organization of the people is important as they prepare to set out on their journey. The camp is organized intentionally, keeping God at the very center of the nation.  Just like in our lives today, God wants to dwell with us and remain the center of our lives. Judah is placed closest to the door of the Tabernacle. Jesus comes from the tribe of Judah and is the door to God for all of us. We just have to choose to go through the door.
