Lamentations 2

In Lamentations 2, all the blessings that were poured out from God, taken for granted, and now removed are lamented. The spiritual leaders gave people false messages that were not the Word of God and the people believed it. Jeremiah gave the true Word of God and warning to turn from sin and evil and back to God. He was rejected and persecuted along with God's Word of warning and the truth of what was coming. God promises forgiveness and restoration if we are willing to repent and turn to Him. He did then and He does today. We can always trust His promises. In this lament, he cries out to God's people to "Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him in prayer". God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We can always trust God.
