Born in Wales to Romanian parents of Jewish descent, Michael Howard, former Leader of the Conservative Party, has played a central role in British politics for the past 50 years. He held Cabinet positions in both the Thatcher and Major governments, under whom he became Home Secretary. Called to the Bar in 1964, and a KC since 1982 he is known for sharp, enquiring mind, his passion for Liverpool FC and his former super-model wife, Sandra.
