Living a life worthy of God begins with knowing that God calls you worthy. Yet for most of us worthy is a name we are unfamiliar with. Names like failure, mistake, ordinary, or even worthless sometimes feel more fitting. The next time you doubt your worth, just remember the cross. You are worth everything to God!
As we step into this new semester our hope is that you would see for yourself the true worth of our great God! One of the biggest mistakes we can make is attempting to live our lives for God, with a small view of God. To discover God’s worth is to realize that God is the one thing worth giving everything to have! Which means that He is worthy!! Worthy of our worship, worthy of our lives, worthy of are everything.
The future can be scary. The unknown of what will be can be enough reason to avoid thinking about it at all. Fear of the future can make us not want to finish things. Like why can’t I just stay in college for the rest of my life? But God knows that movement creates stability. He knows that to become who He has made us to be requires that we take steps into the future even when that step is uncertain, and here is the good news- God promises to meet us there!
Loneliness is dangerous. Yet we often choose loneliness rather than allowing ourselves to be known and possibly rejected! Self-protection and self-sufficiency may sound appealing, but the truth is we weren’t designed to go through life alone. If that’s true then the question we need to ask ourselves is…am I willing to be me, with others?

Friendships can be awesome. Friendships can also be a struggle! At Overflow we believe that you were made for relationships, for community, and for friendships. God created each of us to do life with others, but that doesn’t mean it will be easy. So what is it going to take to have good, healthy, lasting friendships?
More often than not our intentions are good, genuine, sincere. We desire to do what’s right. But what happens when our intentions get tested, pressed, or challenged. Do you have something to hold onto in those times? At some point we have to move beyond intentions.

Most of us struggle to know exactly what God has for us in the future. But here is the thing… when you are consumed with what will happen in the future, you compromise what God can do in the here and now. We need to remember that the future we are going to experience one day is directly related to the decisions we make today!
As Christians we may wish that all temptation would just go away, but that’s not reality. The Bible tells us that the devil is real. It tells us that the devil is our enemy. It tells us that the devil tempted Jesus over and over again in the wilderness. He will do the same with us, but there is a way to walk in victory even in the battle!
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about heaven? Truth is most of us don't really have a framework for thinking about heaven. Or maybe you aren’t even sure if heaven is real, but if heaven is then we should think about it. The truth is heaven may be mysterious but it does not need to be a mystery!
It may seem like the more you seek to know God, the more closely you investigate the things of God, the more extraordinary mysteries you uncover! That in your search for answers you’re only left with more questions. In truth, God and the things of God are mysterious…and yet they are not a mystery! God can be known. The question is… are you willing to search for Him in the Mysterious Things?
We all have a lens through which we see the world, people, relationships, money, time, success, tragedy, school, purpose…everything. Every decision you make, every priority you set, even every dollar you spend is preceded by a particular view of things. So what is the lens through which you see your life? And does that lens provide you with the clarity you desire…the clarity you need?
Because of Jesus we have been given freedom, but what do we do with our freedom? In Galatians chapter 5 Paul urges us to stand firm in our freedom. Why? Because there will be opposition to the freedom that Jesus has purchased for us. But standing firm might just look different than you think.
For freedom Jesus has set you free, but there are still battles to fight. And in the fight against sin there may be not greater struggle then that of comparison. When we measure ourselves up against everyone else we allow insecurity and insignificance to hold us captive. The truth is… freedom does not mean you stop fighting.
There is a massive difference between having freedom and being free! The truth is Jesus has set us free. The question is are we actually living like it’s true? In this first week of the series “Free Indeed” we looked at the truth that Jesus has set us free to love other people. If that’s true, then why can loving others be such a struggle sometimes?

God wants all of your story, to redeem and rescue every part. He wants you to surrender all of your life and get real with Him. That’s what David’s prayer in Psalm 51 reveals to us. God wants your broken and contrite heart. The question is will you give him all of you? Surrender it all and let him write a beautiful story with the pieces. Truth is God writes great stories.
When David wrote a psalm he wrote out of what he knew, what he saw around him. In Psalm 23 he puts words to what he knew from his job as a shepherd and what he knew from his own life. He knew that sheep tend to wander, to be restless, to fear…and he knew he did too. Through this psalm Kalee encourages us to trust and follow our Great Shepherd even though the darkest seasons!
