From the skying setter. This is Paul Murray live like an evening, happy Sunday. We're ever be happy to be This is our look back at one think of a year. But i't like most of the lookbacks, which let's be honest. This team won the footy and Larry him the won the gold and Trump won and that's it. We're going to go deep die, you know, that's the way that we like to do it on this show. And think of this more so as a rather than you and review, more like a performance review. And I'm playing the role
of the hr manager. That's shaky for everyone. Now let us break this down into some Australian politics, some general news, and obviously everything that happened in the United States. Now, about this time last year, the Prime Minister was down in the polls, down in his luck, and it looked like he wasn't going to be able to change the subject.
In fact, the media was so down on him. At the end of twenty twenty three, one full year ago, they were writing headlines like this, the promises to Australia that Anthony how Albanesi has broken his year in review. Anthony Alberanesi facing calls to resign as the Prime Minister after the voice had failed, and Newspoll two months ago
said that Anthony Aberesi was a drag on Labour's recovery. Then, of course summer happens, and that gives the Prime Minister great hope and pep in his step that somehow everything will be different this year. According to the Guardian newspaper, they said that last year had brought the Prime Minister back to worth, but twoy twenty four, what's it going
to hold for Dutton or Alberanzi. Now, Interestingly, the person who had actually written that thesis about whether it was going to be a good year for Albow and a bad year for Dutton was Murferu, otherwise known as the chief political correspondent for The Guardian, somebody who was, of course such an independent journalist that she could not be accused of picking a side until she picked aside. She literally left the Guardian to work for Anthony alban Easy.
But back to what was going on at the start of this year, where the Prime Minister was telling anyone who listened that it's time for a reset. We're going to get our game back. The Prime minister two point zero can a reboot of Albanese's office insure victory. People were rather excited, Well they weren't. They just were people in the press that have been desperate to breathe life into this prime ministership year after year after year, and
it's only two to three years old. This was also because cost of living has been the python that has hurt this prime minister, exposed this government and has pushed voters further away from labor than even at the last election when they had their lowest primary in more than one hundred years. The polling going into this great reset for twenty twenty four, oh so long ago and they're going to need on another one soon was that more than eighty percent of Australians believed that the government has
failed to tackle cost of living crisis. That was at the start of this year. So a special game changer was brought in the Prime Minister who was going to reset his fortunes this year by offering two little too late tax cuts. This hasn't changed.
So it's very clear when it comes to the stage three tax cuts, our position hasn't changed.
We haven't changed our position on that. Well, we haven't changed our position on that mark, we haven't changed our position on the stage three tax cuts at all.
Oh did I say that they were going to do a tax cut change? No, no, No, that was them promising they were definitely not going to do one. But then, of course, as you know, they did one. The Prime Minister goes to the ultimate home game for labor politicians, the National Press Club. We're basically the same people who are lickys Boots at the Parliament lickys Boots, but this time at theom Mother Hill a.
I announce that from the first of July this year, our government will deliberate tax cut for every single Australian taxpayer, all thirteen point six million taxpayers, not just some Everyone who works and who pays tax will benefit.
But with Poles saying that eighty percent of people did not believe that the government had actually done anything to make their financial life better, the polls in a place where the Prime Minister needed to take a big swing like this. It was his mates in the media who were ready to pack a whack of this bloke back to political life, and they were using the biggest possible numbers to make it seem like Christmas had come twice in just a few weeks.
Eleven point five million will be better off, two million worse off for the government, more than doubling tax cuts for most bossie workers by harving them for the country's highest earners the biggest winners. Everyone earning less than one hundred and fifty k, he'll be better off.
The biggest is to keep the thirty seven percent tax bracket, but raise the threshold for it from one hundred and twenty to one hundred and thirty five thousand dollars. Modeling by A and You economists Ben Phillips estimates that more than six million households will be better off from the changes, with just over a million worse off.
I know it's a serious subject, but do you even have to sound that board with it? Anyway? The numbers were huge. The headline set things like most taxpayers will get eight hundred and four dollars back when it comes to the tax cuts. But guess what this little TV show was able to work out straight away? Too little,
too late, four fifths bugger all. In fact, the reality of the breakdown, as we showed you over and over and over again, is that the great Reset, which was going to re build the prime minister wasn't really much at all. In fact, if you earned about forty five thousand dollars, you were going to get the best part of what fourteen dollars a week. You see, that's how people actually pay their tax. They pay it like they earn their money. They do it week by week, or
fortnightly by fortnightly or monthly bi monthly. The idea that you only have to pay tax once a year and therefore the reduction is eight hundred dollars. It was all garbage, and we knew it at the time. The camera bubble tried to pretend nothing to see here in their Jedi mind trick way of trying to start twenty twenty four because twenty twenty three had ended so poorly, But we knew that people weren't going to connect, and slowly but surely the poll started to prove that theory. Right. This
was from the Turmbul Times. This was after the tax cuts had been announced, had been rammed down everyone's throats politically, where fifty three percent of people had hardly heard anything or nothing at all about the tax cuts even when you broke it down female voters. And isn't it the Liberal party that has the problem with women. Well, in fact, the best part there of sixty three percent of them, sixty three percent of them had not heard of what
had happened here. And when you broke it down by men and women, more than sixty percent, if my mats are right, yeah, more than sixty percent of women had not heard anything or much at all about the tax cards. So the Prime minister's first big swing at a big reset to put himself back on top was a miss. But he had a new excuse to say everything's okay, I'm going to win the next election, and it was that he has never lost a news poll. In fact,
this was said how many times polls whole poles poll. Well, of course, polls when it comes to Australian politics, it is the gold standard of whether we keep a leader or not. Now, polls aren't elections, but as we know, when it came to Tony Abbott or Malcolm Turnbull or
Julie Gillard, news poll kind of mattered. So even though there were other poles that were showing that the Labor Party's vote was starting to go into the toot, including thirty percent primary vote, according to the Essential poll, there was thirty four percent according to the Resolve Political Monitor. According to the Financial Review, the primary vote was at thirty one percent. He said, don't worry because all of those don't matter. There's only one pole that matters, and it is Newspole.
We haven't lost to go back to Nemesis, we haven't lost a news poll since I've been Prime minister.
But guess what also happened in twenty twenty four and the Abenz and the Labor Party lost their first news poll. But of course didn't he say. One of the reasons why he was awesome is because he didn't lose a news poll. So how does each way Albo explain losing a news poll?
And when people focus in the election on what the choices are, I'm very confident that they'll continue to support the federal Labor government that understand the pressures say people are under, and that is doing something to assist them.
Okay, so that was then, But what about the end of the year where news poll really matters. Well, as you can see, what was a clear run for the Labor Party on top is now becoming a clear lead for the coalition. And even then, when the preferred prime minister in February, was the Prime Minister on thirty nine
percent unelectable. Dutton was on thirty two we end the year dead level thirty seven thirty seven And when asked how would you rate Anthony Aberneici's performance as Prime Minister in the past few weeks, A staggering fifty one percent of Australians at the end of two thousand and twenty four think what they did at the end of twenty twenty three, and that is more than half say poor
or very poor. As for Peter Dutton, who, remember the press gallery believed is absolutely unelectable, how's he ending up this year? According to Newspot, Peter Dutton surges as the Coalition maintains a lead over Anthony Albernezi and labor that the Prime Minister hits a new personal know while Dutton's stocks rise. Nothing to see here, of course, Well, ok, that's just the book is, that's just the polls. What
about the book is? Well, according to them. Right now, the current odds for the federal election are on sports Bet that the Libs are going to win the next election, on lad Brokes that the Libs are going to win the next election, on points Bet that the Libs are going to win the next election. On tab that the Libs are going to win the next election, that many all in one place at one time, they must know something that we don't. And remember those pollsters much better
at predicting what happened in the United States? Are they going to be better about what is being predicted here? The simple thing is that the Prime Minister was in a world of trouble at the end of twenty twenty three. Despite all that effort, all that money, all that spin, all that bs, all that project, all that gaslighting, He's in an even worse place at the end of twenty and twenty four. So it's no giant surprise that the
Prime Minister is now going after gambling advertising. Well, eventually, in one way or another, he would want those results to never be known, right, I'll mention them for free. It is the performance review part of the Year in Review, where we're reviewing the performance of the greatest Prime Minister of all time, Anthony Abernezi. How did he do on
the cost of living in twenty and twenty four? You know, it's not like that's the only thing people talk about, the number one thing, And don't forget the thing that he promised, of course, to do better at than the previous government. Remember Labor was going to do lower. Let's go back to albert at the start of the year at the National Press Club. Now, remember he said, over and over and over again, what was that one thing that was the total focus of his government.
This is a part of easing the cost of living for Australians. We've done that whilst we provide cost of living relief for people. At the same time, we're looking after people where we can on cost of living pressures. Consistently in the Parliament we have spoken about cost of living pressures that people are feeling.
But the tax thing didn't really work. So the next rabbit to be pulled out of the hat was just as dead as the other ones that they've been pulling out. At the Federal budget, the Prime Minister, his Finance Minister and the Treasurer they thought they had finally worked something out. It's if Australians are winging about their power prices, let's pretend their power prices are coming down.
Speak of this government and this budget delivers for every Australian a tax cut for every taxpayer, wages growing in every industry, a better deal for every working parent, fair ago at every checkout, new help with energy bills for every household and for small business.
Okay, so while he's patting himself on the back, we did the numbers. Seventy five dollars a quarter equals three hundred dollars a year, but most people sometimes get their bills monthly. What this works out is twenty five dollars a month, seventy five dollars a quarter. That's it now.
Of course, if you're somebody who's been living in the real world, not like a labor MP or somebody who's writing favorably about the Labor Party in the media, you may will have noticed that your bills have gone up a little more than that since they came to power.
And that's the message that the Australian people got, that they should expect a fundamental recalibration of their electricity bills. And what we know now is they're paying one thousand dollars more a year on average.
Power, and is twenty five dollars a month what they promised over and over and over and over over and over.
And two hundred and seventy five dollars two hundred and seventy five dollars, two hundred and seventy five dollars, two hundred and seventy five dollars, two hundred and seventy five, two hundred and seventy five, two hundred and seventy five, two hundred and seventy five, two hundred and seventy five, two hundred and seventy five dollars.
No, because according to the Treasurer, that promise doesn't matter anymore.
The number you're referring to was a forecast in twenty one about an outcome in twenty five. We're providing energy bill relief in the here and now. We did in the last budget, we are again in the next budget. But there'll be more relief for more people in this budget.
Hello, you know we watch you when you talk, right. I mean, I'm not just talking about me and the show. I'm talking about the people watching this show. Who saw you promise it? How many times? Oh? No, but it doesn't matter anymore. Imagine if Tony Abbott had taken that position when it came to stopping the boats. Oh yeah, but the modeling, he'd be out on his ear. And there's a very good chance that the labor Party may
will be heading in the same direction. So at the end of two thousand and twenty three, eighty percent of people had said that the government really hadn't helped them when it came to cost of living. Too little. Tax cuts didn't really help because they were too little, too late, twenty five dollars a month when it comes to a power bill despite the fact that they've gone up to one thousand dollars and you promise me to seventy five.
That didn't work either. So at the end of the year, how do people feel about the government's achievements when it comes to cost of living? Seventy three percent of people can't name a single thing that the government has done to make their life better off. Oh and if you think this is just heavily weighted in one particular area, even people who voted for the Labor Party at the last election, in fact, sixty four percent of them can't name a single thing the government has done to make
them better off financially. On top of that, the reality is that almost three million people are this close to homelessness. Yet this Prime Minister wants to pretend nothing to see here. I've never lost a newspoll until I've lost a newspoll and we've got you back and we so we've got another idea how to save ourselves, and that was censoring
the Internet. What an idea this was in twenty twenty four. Now, as you know, the Prime Minister wanted to seal his place in Australian history by changing the Constitution to guarantee that a powerless sort of version of a parliament would give advice to a parliament about indigenous issues, but it would change something in the constitution, So yay for him, right, Well, of course Australians went yet don't like the idea, and he had a special response as long as other labor
MPs as to what truly had stopped them claiming their spot on top of the Mount Kosiosco. Misinformation, misinformation, misinformation.
The misinformation?
Which is there some misinformation?
Ooh? Misinformation? Do I see a new thing for the government to waste a lot of time on? Yes, you see. An awful lot of people get their news in lots of different ways. I'm glad that you're watching us on Telly right now, but there's a good chance you might be watching this as a video somewhere later than now. There's lots of people who get their information via social media, particularly so the sky news dot com do are U either website or to the many many millions of people
who interact with us via YouTube. So of course this government would like to crack down on that sort of information because we point out things like to little too late tax cuts twenty five dollars a month when it comes to power bills, not to mention all the other stuff that I've been talking about tonight. That's not quite
as good as they'd like to make it out. So the announcement was made that it was time to censor the Internet, to go after misinformation, to find the big tech companies if they kept allowing people like you to post information the government did not believe to be true.
The point here is that we're talking about a high threshold of serious harms where misinformation, for example, causes people to tear down mobile phone towers in regional areas. That can mean people can't call triple zero. That is a serious harm, and that is due to the scale, speed of spread and spread of misinformation. That is what we are attempting to deal with here, to protect the strains from harm.
Yeah, well this idea didn't even end up getting the support of the people who always vote for them in the Senate. For example, doormat Dave Pocock. He votes for everything this government puts up. What does he say about this piece of legislation? Will he vote for it?
I've listened to the experts and to people in the set, and I'll be opposing the Combating Misinformation Distorpation Bill unless major changes are made to the legislation because as it stands, I don't believe it takes the right approach to dealing with misinformation.
Former Labor MP and now Chief Fatima payment of Fatima payment political party? Will you vote for it?
Freedom of speech is a pillar of our democracy and this bill threatens that. Of course, misinformation and disinformation are a problem, but this bill isn't the answer. The powers it grants could lead to over censorship, with the government deciding what does and doesn't count as the truth.
Did you just make sense? What about somebody who got elected as somebody kind of liked Jackie Lamby but used to work for Jackie Lamby, So that's cool, let's make her a senator. But then she broke up with Jackie Lamby. Would she vote for this.
I understand the intent behind this bill, but it's important to me that people feel free to express ideas and opinions without fear of being shutdown, having conversations that challenge our views. It's how we grow as community. And again, I'm not supporting this legislation.
What about Jackie Lamby? Would she vote for it? She votes for most of the government stuff and she used to swear words about Elon Musk.
This bill is not going to fix it.
There are other ways to do it.
Yeah, there will be other ways to do it.
This is just this was turning into a mess, but it is dead in the water.
Okay, Lydia thoughpe right. Surely, surely she's going to want to censor evil people who don't agree with what she has to say because it's racist.
The Misinformation Bill, for example, I won't be supporting that. I've been talking to community members and stakeholders Black and brown people could be demonized as part of that process. Well, the devil in the detail in these pieces of legislation that I'm digging into and negotiating with the government. Either fix it or I won't support it.
So the Resa didn't work. The tax cuts didn't work. The let's pay Everyone's power bill but not really didn't work, and censoring the Internet didn't work. So how did the other ministers do this year in twenty twenty four. Well, we've just spoken about the incredible successes of the Communications Minister failing to censor the Internet. Of course, there is the former Indigenous Affairs Minister in Linda Burney, who failed
to get the voice up in time. So she of course has decided to retire and definitely not be sacked.
After twenty one years as in politics, eight years in the Federal Parliament and thirteen years in the New South Wales Parliament, it's time for me to parts on the baton to the next generation. It is time for me to pass on that.
What about other strong women inside the Labor Party cabinet, the ones who really put the what did you just announce? In the what did you just announce? Like Tanya Plipasek. Remember she's the one who turned around and used some local Aboriginal mysticism to deny a gold mining project that both people in the town wanted built and the Labor Party in New South Wales premier wanted built.
And I've said, mister cher. I'm disappointed by the decision
from the Commonwealth Government. The application was made in twenty nineteen, It's gone through the Independent Planning and Assessment Committee Commission, as well as every other government department in New South Wales and to be knocked over at the eleventh hour is disappointing in terms of mining gold and other critical minerals in New South Wales, which we desperately need because coal mining is under pressure, particularly when it comes to export markets.
Well, at least for teny plitu Sex she was able to end the year by getting that deal done on brand new green legislation with the Now speaking of Tania Plebisic, of course, remember when she was the deputy Labor leader to the greatest Prime Minister we've never had, apparently Bill Shorten. Seen there with the mister and missus Chloe Shorten. Well. Bill Shorton, of course ran in twenty nineteen and kind
of lost badly. Remember people not that impressed, not just with his running style which looked a little bit like t Rex arms, but what am I to have to go at somebody exercising anyway, he decided that he was going to quit this year after completely fixing the National Disability Insurance scheme and he's going to work for Camberra University.
I'm excited to say that from February of next year, I've been chosen to be the vice chancellor of the University of Canberra.
You know what, Good on him, Good on him Cambra University. He's getting out of politics and he's backing in academia. And you know the really cool thing is who would be his boss at Camberg University. Oh, it'd be this lady. And you know what that's really interesting because isn't that the lady who Bill Shorten got to do a review into the National Disability Insurance Scheme? And isn't that also the same lady who was his department head when he
was the Employment Minister. And wasn't this I'm sure he was the best candidate. I have no question that he was the best candidate, and the media thinks that she made the right decision.
The leadership potential of the then Australian Workers Union's national secretary evident even before he entered politics.
Been a constant throughout two turbulent decades of Australian politics.
Ending seventeen years in Parliament, A minister in three Labor governments, Labor leader for six years, he hid people's TV screens as the impressive union leader during the Beaconsfield mind disaster.
Now, of course, he wasn't just the only politician who retired. First of there was Linda Bernie standing ovations. There was Bill Shorten, who somehow was able to keep his job while saying he was going on to another job. But how did the media treat say, a former prime minister, you know, the guy who actually beat Bill Shorton at a federal election in twenty nineteen, Scott Morrison formerly resigned from the Parliament after the two thousand nineteen defeat of
the Labor Party. Remember he of course beat the Labor So they gave the treatment to Bill Shorten like he won the twenty nineteen election. And this is how they treated the guy who actually won the twenty nineteen election.
Do you have not yet acknowledged any fault though on your part when you take this opportunity now to accept that you could have done more to heed the warnings and prepare for this.
What would be the point of a Morrison government for the next three years?
Cony trust instincts as leader, If your gut told you was safe to go to Hawaii.
Only thinks were better Personally for the Prime Minister, he had such huge news in the past twelve months that united the nation with a giant.
Anthony Alberzi is engaged.
The Prime Minister has popped the.
Question to Jody Hayden.
Love is in the air for the Prime Minister.
He's proposed to his partner of four years, Jody Hayden.
On Valentine's Daid his official canber residence. The Prime Minister popped the question and then, because he wanted to remain focused on the job, that Prime Minister had more personal news.
The Prime Minister will hold off on getting married until after the next election, hoping to avoid any extra stress or distractions. Anthony Albernisi and fiance Jody Hayden are now holding off their wedding until after the next election.
And Australia where meah as father long term friendships the Prime Minister and of course the former boss of Cordus. We remember how chummy they were all of the time, and we learnt about not just airbus elbow, but airbus elbow became upgrade elbow. Why because even when he flew privately on private holidays, he still was asking for an upgrade as if he was flying on taxpayer dollars. That makes perfect sense because you see, he's just one of us, isn't he.
I go up in public housing in Campdown, the son of a single mum.
And you know what he understands what it's like because he knows there's lots of Australians that currently are doing it tough, and he knows that the best way when times are tough is to buy a brand new house. And how much is this house worth?
Anthony Aberinezi is the proud new owner of a Central Coast beach house worth more than four million dollars.
Anthony Albanezi and partner Jody Hayden will soon settle on this cliff top home on the New South Wales Central coast.
Top point three million dollars on a Coopa Cabaner mansion in New South Wales.
I am surprised this guy is not leading in the post. How has he not turned it around with all of these incredible decisions. But of course the real reason why he will probably win the next election is because remember Peter Dutton is so evil, terrible ugabooger, awful unelectable, and he's promised to do things like cut immigration.
I want to see Australians be able to get into housing and at the moment the Labor Party is bringing one point sixty seven million people over five years, which is just going to make the situation for housing in our country much less attainable.
And thankfully there are impartial journalists that are willing to say that despite the fact that the Prime Minister made the same promise about cutting immigration yet failed to be
able to achieve it. Peter Dutton is the one who's racist because you see, Australia is secretly a racist country because we fell for misinformation when it came to the referendum, and we didn't believe that too little, too late when it came to tax cuts was good enough and twenty five dollars a month when it comes to power bills is something that we should say, hooray, the Prime Minister just brought a four and a big million dollar house.
We are a.
Racist country in space that we always have been asprey depressing. To give license like that I find promoidly depressing and a terrible prospect for the next election.
And thankfully she's got really factual, actual examples of racism to point too.
For a major point to call university saying, as Nicky says, you know everything that's going roll in this country is because of my grants.
And you know I had a sudden flash.
Of people turning out to try to rent a property or at an auction they longed a different foreign different. Basically he has given their license.
They views, yeah, give her another reward. So the performance review when it comes to the Prime Minister, the government, the media who talk about the Prime Minister and the government is better luck next year. More in a sector on Paul Murray life. Now before we get to all things Trump and or to big and meaty section, before we're done tonight, I want to go through and just take a moment to recognize the people who mattered this year. They mad it because they achieved something or their tails
connected with us. Perfect example is baby Luca. Now you remember that baby Luca was attacked while he was with his mum in a Brisbane park. Hot liquid poured upon him. The burns were just absolutely horrific. His mum and dad, well, we felt for them the second they were talking about this beautiful little boy in his bad.
Burns and he seems like his happy self again, which is really nice to see.
Because the last few days have been really really good.
Sadly, police have never been able to find the person who they believe responsible. They think that he bugged off overseas. But more importantly we got to learn as the year went on that baby Luca left the hospital, came home and the latest that we heard from his mum and dad was from Luca's mum that is healed really well and the baby skin is amazing. The synthetic skin graft that they have put on it has worked really well. Luca's father said, we are definitely optimistic at this point
and he already looks better than we ever thought. Strength and love to little Luca and his family. Who else mattered this year? The next generation of Liberal leaders now David Crucifooley and Lea Fanookiaro, the people who now run the State of Queensland and the Northern Territory in the Northern Terror. They decided to change the government. Why well because of in many reasons, but particularly the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister and the Labor Party's absolute failure
when it comes to youth crime in Allah Springs. It meant that the COLP, which was pushed right out of office years ago, was able to sweep with a majority and has a new face leading it.
This result represents a turning point in the territory's future.
Territorians have used.
Their voice to stand up against Labor who have taken them for granted for.
Far too long. You need seventeen seats to form a majority in the Northern Territory. The COLP was able to get there. No talk of a hung parliament, nothing like that. In fact, the Labor Party lost ten seats down to four. The cop gets its majority at seventeen up ten. The Greens sadly they got a spot, and plenty of others
are there. The reason that this is a turning point, and the reason that Lea for Finukiara is the example of the next generation of Liberal leaders is when there were a bunch of protesters that were out the front of an event in Darwin trying to have a go at a gas project.
This was her response and the active is standing out the front.
You are wasting your time going back to Victoria or wherever else do you want to cause trouble, But you are not welcome here.
She is awesome. Now, when it comes to state politics, Labor dominates in Queensland. I know that's bizarre, but let me walk you through it. Peter Beatty, well, he won in nineteen ninety eight and it was all the way till twenty twelve when Campbell Newman had just three years before the Labour Party took over again and you ended up with Palochet and Miles. Meaning for the best part of thirty years there has only been one party rule
in Queensland. But that was coming to an end because Queensland has had had enough of, among other things, an idiot as their premier replaced with another idiot as their premier, and youth crime. They had had enough. Crucifiley in the LNP smashed Labor and that's why they matted this year.
I have voted for a fresh start and I have voted for a majority LMP government.
Now in Tasmania, when it came to their politics this year a little wonky and a little weird. Now Tasmania had a state election because the state government had essentially been whittled down to a minority that couldn't really hold itself together. The Tasmanian Premier said let's go to an election. I demand a majority, and yes, he ended up with more seats than the Labor Party. Jackie Lamby was the
x factor here. How many of her firebrand candidates were she going to get elected, including the ones who openly admitted they had no policies.
So definitely with the Lambian that group, it's all about values. So we haven't already got predecided policies or specific areas and that's to me, and that's true democracy here we are representing the people.
Okay, they ended up breaking up with Jackie Lambi, or did Jackie Lamby break up with them? Anyway, there's still a minority government that's barely held together, which brings us to politics in the UK, where Nigel Farage was one of the big stories as the UK went off and had its election. He went from hanging out with us each and every Tuesday night to a man who said, you know what, I'm going to run for parliament.
I can't let down those millions of people. I simply can't do it. It'll be wrong. But I have decided I've changed my mind, so I am going to stand in this election. I'll be launching my candidacy at midday tomorrow in the Essex Seaside town of clasons.
Well. After a plenty of campaigny which went up and down the country millions of votes, he was able to declare himself Nigel Farage MP.
Resolved for Farrage, not just to win, but a very clear one.
I promise that I will do my absolute best as a Member of Parliament. I had twenty years as an MEP, but it's not quite the same link or same responsibility with constituents. I will do my absolute best to put Clacton on the map. I'll do my best to bring more tourists. I'll do my best to try and bring some private investment.
And apart from anything else, apart from bringing a brand new broom when it comes to British politics, when protesters decided to interrupt his moment in the sun, he had the best quote of the year in politics, not for the record, Keir Starmer and the Labor Party one in the United Kingdom. We're talking here as we look back at the year about the people who mattered or stood out to me as the people who really meant something
in twenty twenty five or before. Of course, we get to Donald Trump and our journey along the way from the man Cave to the White House and back. One more person I wanted to mention who really mattered this year. This was a person who stood up when times were incredibly difficult. There was breaking news one Saturday afternoon out of Sydney.
The breaking news out of the Westfield Shopping Center in Sydney's Bondai Junction.
Police have swarmed the center.
Following reports that shoppers have been stabbed.
We continue with our live coverage of this mass stabbing rampage at the Bondai Junction Westfield Shopping Center on a very busy Saturday afternoon.
