From the Skying Center. This is Paul Murray life today. I'm not quite Caleb, but the first of July it is not just a big day for governments and the decisions that they make. But in the Northern Territory, my favorite spot in Australia will equal the Queensland. Tonight's the night where you can buy fireworks and you can let them off even this big in public and no one

will tell you no. For six hours. People in the territory on Territory Day, to celebrate the day that it was formed as a standalone government, they get to buy fireworks like this, and then from six pm till eleven they can let them off as much as they want. All right. Tonight on the show the Great Nigel Faraj, the only place you will see him on ausz E TV is here on a Tuesday night, the Great Man joins us big news to talk about, including that nonsense

that happened at the Glastonbury Music Festival. Debate Wise, get ready for Linda Scott versus James Ashby. James Ashby versus Linda Scott. We know you love them both and they'll fire up good and New York City, there's a lot happening politically there. It's a city, if you've been lucky enough to go to, is very special, but it looks like it is about to make a very bad choice. I'll explain what the consequences are of that in a moment or two's time, but first, as always, we start

in Australia. Our focus is Australia and the bomb cyclone which has been making its way up and down the New South Wales coast today and into tonight, an awful lot of rain. Here's the latest rain radar that can show you. Yeah, there is obviously the dark of the color, the heart of the hit. You can see there that we're going all the way from the north, a lot more down south, and particular problems in and around Woollongong.

Some of the damage which is kicked in is pretty obvious, not just the rain in Sydney, but lots of sees callouts. We'll get to somebody from the Sees in a moment. But again, Sky News Weather right across all of this. Make sure your homepage is sky News dot com dot Au. Make sure that you sign up and get the app for just five dollars at skyews dot com dot Au, where you're able to see the weather channel on your rap, in your phone and on your smart TV.

Speaker 2

Taking a closer look here at the satellite imagery, you can see where the low is currently sitting, and throughout the day it's just tracked a little bit further to the south and nearing a little bit closer to the coastline as well, and that has really whipped up quite a frenzy with a lot of rainfall and very strong winds as well.

Speaker 1

Now as you can see all the way from the north of the state down towards the south, just south of Sydney's Woollongong, and that's where these people were dealing with it all today.

Speaker 3

We've been flooded before and I'm just taking some extra precautions to try and build up a bit of protection against Sidney water coming through.

Speaker 4

Put some sandbags around the entry to the house, which is this the lowest point for us, and so if we can keep the rain out from the water out from there, that might keep us safe.

Speaker 1

Dead Platts is with the se issues, the Deputy Operations Commissioner, and she joins us now from HQ. Nice to see you. I'm sorry it's under these circumstances the fear was wind would go up to one hundred and twenty five k's an hour. We know the central coast north of Sydney has had evacuations for people whose property is particularly close to the beach. Where is the worry tonight.

Speaker 5

Well, of course, this is a very complex coastal low. It's moving around a lot. It's very difficult for the Bureau of Meteorology to actually pinpoint where and when things will cross, and how much rainfall and what the intensity will be. But what we are seeing now is that the low is slowly moving south and closer to Onshore. So what we know from that is that we are going to see conditions worse and overnight, particularly for Newcastle, Sydney,

Illawarra and the South coast. So with that system comes a lot of rain, anything from fifty to one hundred and fifty millimeters, and we have seen already today one hundred and twenty eight fall at Karrawong near Jervis Bay. But we can expect to see some isolated rainfall exceeding the two hundred millimeters over a twenty four hour period.

Now what that means for us and the community is that you have to be really well aware as you're traveling around, because we can expect to see flash flooding, and already this afternoon we've had two flood rescues, one at shoal Haven and one at Jambaru where vehicles have found themselves in flooded areas. So really encouraging people to stay at home if at all possible, but really be

careful when you're out and about on the roads. Of course, there has been the very strong winds and we are expecting more strong damaging wind gusts of up to one hundred and twenty five kilometers per hour. The highest wind recorded so far today is about one hundred and two kilometers per hour, which was out near Penrith. But as I said that, we'll continue over the next twenty four hours with that. Trees will come down as we've seen,

and we've also got power lines that are down. So we currently have around about thirty five thousand properties, predominantly in the central Coast, but in some areas of Sydney that are without power due to the power lines falling down.

Speaker 1

Yeah, Debi, you were excellent in getting the information at early that this was going to be quite the week. As we are rolling through the nights and things will intensify in some areas calm in others. Have you got as many crews as possible out and about or are we pulling back until sunrise tomorrow?

Speaker 5

No, absolutely, we are out and about our amazing volunteers, of which we've had over twelve hundred out and about today going through helping people that need our assistance. And just to give you an example, just in the twenty four hours to seven pm tonight we've had over thirteen hundred people reporting incidents. Is that our volunteers have been responding to. But we also have our emergency service partners from Police, Fire and Rescue, New South Wales Ambulance as

well as the other volunteer agencies. We're all working together as one team to make sure we can keep all of the New South Wales communities safe.

Speaker 1

All right now, the telephone number if people want to or need to, I should say TRIPLO is through life and death situations. Okay, everything else is through the SEES. Your website gives information, all of your socials are updating every couple of minutes. What's the telephone number if somebody needs you in New South Wales tonight?

Speaker 5

So we have upscaled our State Emergency Operations Center here in Wollongong, so you can feel free to call us on one three two five hundred if you need any assistance from the SEES or our emergency service partners, and we'll be there to assist you. As I said, we are very busy and we will have to prioritize those calls, but certainly we will get to everybody. And again we can't thank how volunteers enough for everything that they do to help keep the community of New South Wales safe.

I would also say though that with all this rain, it is possible that we could see some minor to moderate flooding in some parts of the coastal catchments and in the Hawk Spring Nepean Valley, so there could be flood warnings escalate tonight for low lying communities on the Georgias and the Penn River. So for people in those areas, the best advice for them is to absolutely keep on top of the Bureau of Meteorology warnings on their website

or on our SS website. Download the Hazards near Me app and if I can encourage everybody, when you download that Hazards near Me app, set a watch zone, and that watch zone should be where you work, where you live, or where you're likely to travel to, and that way you'll get the most accurate, up to date warnings possible. Wherever possible, we will also doorknock any areas that are likely to be impacted by inundation.

Speaker 1

All right, good on you, deb Thank you to you and the professional side of things. But those volunteers unbelievable the work they do day or night, month after month after month, year after you. Thank you, appreciate it.

Speaker 6

Thank you.

Speaker 1

Der Platz is the Deputy Operations Commissioner for the SEES. Now let's send our attention to a story out of Melbourne that is going to be tough to sit through, but I promise I won't wallow in the detail. This was an extraordinary thing to learn about today. It is every parent, grandparent or decent person's nightmare. The Premier was even involved in this. Today, a twenty six year old has been charged with seventy separate offenses, including rape and

sexual assault. These are alleged to have taken place in multiple childcare centers, potentially are all over Melbourne. Channel nine spoke to some of the parents at the main center that has been affected.

Speaker 4

This is the childcare worker accused of crimes that have sickened the community.

Speaker 1

Did will hunt me forever?

Speaker 6

Then?

Speaker 1

Did something happen to my job? Really scary that you didn't meant to look after your children?

Speaker 7

And this is what happened.

Speaker 1

Now. Normally, any sort of alleged crime involving children means that there's a series of well efforts the police go to to keep this information as behind the scenes as possible and dealt with by the criminal justice system. But given the nature of this, they decided to go public and as I said, they did so in an extraordinary media conference today.

Speaker 8

Last week we notified eight families that we had charge Brown with sexually offending against their children. As you could imagine, this was deeply distressing for the families to hear.

Speaker 1

As for the amount of locations, it is extraordinary how many places this bloke is well alleged to have worked at where the offending has taken place. Again, up to the police to find out more, but this is how widespread the map is.

Speaker 4

The specific charges relate to the Creative Guard and Early Learning Center in Point corkin twenty twenty two and twenty twenty three the police are now contacting Joshua Brown's nineteen other workplaces since twenty seventeen.

Speaker 1

This is despicable. Now there are up to twelve hundred, twelve hundred kids all the way from babies and up that are now being advised case by case to potentially go and get tests. I'll let the health officials explain more again, a horrific story out of Melbourne today.

Speaker 4

For twelve hundred children. Their note includes a gut wrenching health instruction as.

Speaker 1

A precaution, we are recommending that some children undergo testing for infectious diseases due to a potential exposure risk in that period. Now that information is being passed directly to the families. So again I'll save you from some of the other details. The Herald son Askynews dot com dot you with even more details about this. But this thing

is now international news. The BBC reporting about it tonight as they say, hundreds of kids to be tested for diseases after this despicable, despicable alleged crime alleged because there is nothing I want to do to get in the way of the criminal justice process to other things. Now, in the past couple of days, there has been quite the reaction to some of the behaviors going on apparently in Australia's key hospitality joints. I'll let sixty minutes explain.

Speaker 9

To get the fancy drinks and exquisite meals, what's really being served up at some of Australia's finest establishments are drugs, sex and sleeves.

Speaker 8

I'd often just go to the bathroom and cry.

Speaker 9

Staff have been mistreated the Mexicans.

Speaker 10

The Mexican should have the.

Speaker 9

Sexual assault allegations have been ignored.

Speaker 1

That just since chills down my spine again. Extraordinary. But why am I making a point about the Labor Party here? Because one of the Labor Party's freshly re elected MPs, the MP for ben Along Well, he decided to make a political point off the back of this story. He did so on social media. First, he explains the story and I'll take it from there.

Speaker 11

Do you see this story yet another expose about how this bloke justin Hemis is allegedly ripping off his workers?

Speaker 1

All right, again, the expose speaks for itself. But then watch the leap that is made by a member of the Albanese government.

Speaker 11

But what's not so cool and what's not tasting. Is that he's the same bloke that opened up his home for a huge fundraiser for Peter Dunne. You know that fundraiser where Dutton left his own electorate in the middle of tropical cyclone affric Yeah, that one.

Speaker 1

Now again the facts about dates and all the rest of it. But can you see this We go from a report about sixty minutes to back, let's kick the bloke that we've already defeated and of course lost his seat at the federal election. Well, he goes even further, in my opinion, even lower, to somehow pretend that it's the Liberal party's official position to treat workers like those who have been allegedly mistreated in that sixty minutes story. This bloke has no shame.

Speaker 11

But I mean, this alliance checks out, doesn't it. Hemis and the Liberals, the Liberals and Hemis. And with each story about Hemis, the more it makes sense he loves the Liberals and that the Liberals just can't get enough of him in their world. They want the economy to grow at the expense of workers' rights and conditions.

Speaker 1

Apart from his last time is hymns. By the way, how despicable. Is that now again public story out and about for everyone to know about apparent mistreatment of workers, not just in those establishments but in lots of others. But the reality that i'll Vita Peter dunn't and then somehow to suggest that this is the Liberal Party's industrial

relations policy. They can get away with saying anything at the moment, not just because there is no appetite to push back on them, but because there is no restrictions whatsoever for whopping lies like that in the public forum when it comes to things like social media. But not

by way of warning, but by way of comparison. This bloke might want to think very long and hard about trying to connect scandals that are reported in sixty Minutes to political parties, because while again he has been freshly re elected and handsomely so in the seat, had been along so much so that it went from their most marginal labors of the last election to one of their safest,

certainly in and around Sydney. Remember the stories that sixty Minutes had about the CFMEU, the stories about the bikis, the stories about the illegal behavior, the stories about how women were treated well as mccardia Cash pointed out the Labor Party has failed to return millions of dollars in donations presumably to be spent in elections from the CFMEU to the Labor Party. In the financial year twenty two to twenty three. That took it up to about six

and a bit million dollars. So you might want to be careful here about glasshouses and stones. But when you've got ninety four seats and you think you're going to win forever, maybe you think you can get away with it. Well, in my view, not quite. As for the Prime Minister, he was out and about all over breakfast television, every channel he possibly could. I think he was even funding into community radio. Just to make a point today, Why because the first of July is not a great day

because of crack a night in Darwin and the Northern Territory. No, it's because many of the things that had been decided or promised start to land and change. And yes there is going to be some improvements for some people. But something that the Prime Minister did not mention today is that many of the moneys that are apparently being saved have apparently already been blown away by increases in power prices.

The wholesale power price in many states is going up, particularly in New South Wales, which means whatever they say with one hand, you have lost with the other. I also noticed that he probably didn't mention in all of this is in July one fantastic, But perhaps the reason he had a pep in his step was because he himself and every other politician in Australia from backbenches in

state parliament to the Prime minister, are richer tonight. In the case of federal politicians, they have their fourth pay rise since the twenty twenty to election. The Prime minister now well over six hundred thousand dollars with an extra fifteen thousand dollars a year. How does that compare to

other world leaders. Well, the Singaporean prime minister that's the job to get two and a half million dollars, and then Australia's Prime minister, paid six hundred and twenty two thousand dollars, is paid more than the President of the United States, the Prime Minister of the UK, the President of France, or the Prime minister of India. And with the Australian Prime minister earning more than the President of the United States. Perhaps that's the reason why Donald Trump

took to social media today to promote Trump fragrances. You can have the width of success that is the victory of President forty five and forty seven. They even made an ad for it, so you can smell the success of maga eh and every day.

Speaker 12

My new Trump fragrances are here. They make a great Christmas present. I've named them Fight Fight Fight because they represent winning.

Speaker 1

We all want to be winning. We have to win as a nation, we want to win as a family.

Speaker 12

This fragrance is all about strength and success and confidence for men and for women. Get yourself a bottle and don't forget to grab one for your loved ones too. They'll thank you and they'll even smell good.

Speaker 1

And my birthday's coming on July fourteenth for those that like to take notes, So you've got a couple of weeks. If you want to buy, send no, but give it to somebody on my behalf. But I'd also like a couple of ideas from you. If we had a fragrance which was named after albo Or Bowen, what would you call it? Send me an email pollittskottannus dot com dot au. If Trump's is fight Fight five, the smell of mega success, the smell of not ever back and down. What would

the smell of albo be? Your suggestions, Paulitskynews dot com dot au. On the more serious side of things, though, yet again we're still talking about whether there's going to be a meeting between Australia's Prime minister and the President of the United States. We know it didn't happen at the G seven. We know it didn't happen at NATO's.

So they're now saying the same people who said that a meeting would be the most important of the prime minister's career will most likely happen, not in the next couple of days, not when the tariffs may well kick

in again, which is just in ten days time. No, it'll happen in India, and jeez, you'd have to hope that it does happen in India because the meeting in India is the meeting of the Quad, and that's only four countries, the Japanese Prime Minister, the Indian Prime Minister, the American President represented there by an animated corpse, and the Australian Prime Minister. So jeez, we will officially say if you can't get a face to face when there are only three other people in the room, that yeah,

he's probably actually snubbing you. But till then we'll all wait and see. But the smell of success, what do you think the elbow fragrance would be? What ou de toilette would you suggest represents this government? Is it again? The smell of success? Sebiin Ema, Paulitzguynews dot com dot au. Now, one thing that we know is that the factory workers of the world have largely in many cases been replaced

by robots. And despite the fact that technology changes and the things that we make out of factories has changed, that fact remains. Ever thus that robots take human jobs. Perfect example is apparently what is happening in Amazon, and we know their boss is off having one of the biggest cashed up Bogan weddings and parties we've ever seen

in Venus. By the way, wouldn't you like to see that if Jeff Bezos when he got married, that he should have just got into that giant phallic rocket that he owns and had like some tin cans after it just married. Wouldn't that be fun to see? Or a couple of white streamers on the front of it, like many people have when they get into their beloved classic car. Hopefully are holden. But as you've seen, Amazon is now this close to having more robots working for it than humans.

Amazon is on the verge of employing as many machines as people across its warehouses.

Speaker 2

Now.

Speaker 1

Of course, that helps because robots are in unions right, combining advanced robotics with artificial intelligence. The e comm Is Titan, which has grown from Bezos selling books online from his garage in the mid nineties, is now two point three trillion trillion dollar juggernaut, and it's deployed it's one millionth robot.

This compares to the company employing about one and a half million people across the world, and follows Elon Musk declaring that there will be billions of humanoid robots more than the Earth's population in the next twenty years. What could possibly go wrong? But maybe I'm just talking about Krackennet. Now. I love New York. I love it because it is for a kid who grew up watching eighty TV and nineties movies and so many things said in New York.

It's an epicenter of culture, politics, business, all the rest of it right, And in fact I love New York so much that that's where I got married to my beautiful wife, Shan. We eloped. Mum still to this day very impressed to get the news one very late December night that we went to City Hall and we got married.

So I don't quite have skin in the game, but I do have love for a city that is supposedly the world's greatest city, and on many fronts i'd say it is, but it is, as you know, on its way to making a choice, making a choice about its future. The Democrats had their primary last week to decide who would be their candidate, and the person who won is a thirty something year old socialist.

Speaker 9

Meet Zoran mum Danni's or on Mum Danni's Are on Mum Danni's or on Mom Dannie, It's allround, Mum Danni.

Speaker 1

He beat Andrew Cuomo, who, of course was the bloke who I can't believe even ran for New York mayor. He was the guy who remember put COVID positive patients back into nursing homes, apparently seventeen thousand people dying as a result of he thought a couple of years later he'd be able to win. He didn't. But this is the guy who came up through the middle and he's

a massive chance of winning. The reality is, though, there are lots of people who think there's a way to make sure they can guarantee he's not going to go there right, And there's all different attacks that people have on him, from his views on the Middle East through to the label that is socialism. But he's a communist, and he's a pure communist. I think he admits it, but I can't imagine it. But let's see this.

Speaker 12

If he does get in, I'm going to be president and he's going to have to do the right thing or they're not getting any money.

Speaker 9

He's anti capitalism, he doesn't like our system of government. He wants to get rid of that and let's have a government run grocery stores.

Speaker 1

It's a communist from New York. Somebody gets elected. I can't believe that's happening. That's a terrible thing for our country. By the way, he's a communist. We're going to go to a communist. That's so bad for New York.

Speaker 7

It's the biggest city in America and you're going to run a communist out.

Speaker 1

I thought I was right when I said we'd hurt rock Bottom, but I don't think any of those labels are going to be enough to defeat him.

Speaker 2

Now.

Speaker 1

I disagree with many of his policies. I disagree with the way he chooses to pay for his policies. But anyone who's been to New York knows that the rich bits are really rich and really beautiful, and the bits that aren't well pretty obviously is the majority of the people outside of the island of Manhattan, remember the Five Burrows. They all get a chance to vote. And the message that he is sending yes is free stuff, free stuff,

free stuff. But this is how it's being packaged. And no matter how much people push back against the consequences of free stuff, why wouldn't this guy end up winning an election with promises like this. I'll make buses fast and free so I can just get where I'm going. I'll make childcare available to all New.

Speaker 6

Yorkers at no cost.

Speaker 1

I want to raise my ken in New York.

Speaker 6

And I'll freeze the rent for every single rent stabilized TenneT.

Speaker 1

These Eric Adams rent aches are killing us. Also, plenty of people say that his attitudes towards Israel are disqualifying and therefore he should not receive the support. A particular example of him very obviously not pulling his punches was when he was asked a question over and over again on NBC just this weekend, which was, how does he feel about the term globalizing the Intafada put simply killing

Jews wherever they are in the world. Well, he was asked, and watch him not engage with a pretty obvious question that should kill off any politician in the United States, but it won't when it comes to this guy. Do you condemn that phrase globalize the Intifada?

Speaker 6

That's not language that I use. The language that I use and the language that I will continue to use to leave the city is that which speaks clearly to my intent, which is an intent grounded in a belief in universal human rights.

Speaker 4

Do you condemn that phase globalize the Intifado, which a lot of people here is a call to violence against Jews.

Speaker 6

I've heard from many Jewish New Yorkers who have shared their concerns with me, especially in light of the horrific attacks that we saw in Washington, d C.

Speaker 1

Dear God, No, the way that this guy will lose an election is his policies on law and order. This guy is defund the police two point zero, where you don't use the term defund the police, but it's the exact same policies that were being pushed to failure in

city after city in the United States. Remember a soft on crime approach of the previous mayor in New York City was one of the reasons why bilde Blasio was essentially run out of town, couldn't get out of first gear as a presidential candidate, and has basically no political future in front of him because of the failure of law and order. Remember, things got so bad in New

York the police were being murdered in the streets. And at the other level, up to one thousand dollars is how much people can steal from a shop before it ends up being a serious crime. Do people really want

to go back to that again. As failed as the ideas are when it comes to socialism, as terrible as the ideas are when it comes to world events, and his treatment of Jewish citizens in New York, every citizen that may well be conned by this bloke needs to pay attention to what he himself is saying about law and order in a city where it can get out

of control very fast. And every time someone goes near promising this from cutting the budget of the NYPD or trying to keep people away from jails even when they clearly commit crimes, you know what happens. So this is if anyone wants to defeat this bloke, the only way to defeat this bloke. In fact, if I can quote from the New York Times when he was being interviewed as a candidate, he wasn't hiding what his plan is here.

In fact, if I can show you, mister Mandani, a state assemblyman from Queens, would remove the NYPD instead create a city agency called the Department of Community Safety. They would focus on expanding violence in sorry, interruptive programs, and mental health teams that respond to nine one one calls. So someone's attacking you, you call nine one one, you don't get a cop, you get somebody who's going to

deal with a mental health issue. Quote. The police have played a have a critical role to play, he said in an interview. Right now, we're relying on them to deal with the failures of our social safety net. This department will pioneer, evidence proven approaches that have been successful elsewhere in the country. Well, there are no examples of it elsewhere in the country. There are people who have these ideas before they defund the police, and it fails

every sea time. The term defund the police is political poison in the United States. But just by introducing the policy but not putting the title on top of it, somehow he thinks he'll be able to fool people with yes, fabulously produced social media and also an attitude when it comes to dealing with the traditional media of not giving in. He is essentially using the Trump playbook. But this book put out one hundred and seventeen page community safety policy.

I can tell you there's more sections on it about hate crimes, and there are about any of the serious things that will cause problems in the greatest city in the world that be in New York City were continue here. Mister man Daney said he would also eliminate the police department's huge overtime budget. So the poor buggers who go towards nine one one calls all day every day with the risk of dying if they go longer than their prescribed time to get paid overtime, but no more of that.

He'll also get rid of a that's called the Strategic Response Unit. Put simply, he believes that what turns things violent is the policing, not the criminal. He would expand programs like the Behavioral Health Emergency Assistance Response Division or be Heard, which sends teams of mental health professionals rather than police to scenes at certain emergencies. So let's be really clear here. This Plague also believes that he should

close the biggest prison rikers in New York. He believes that we should release more people from prison while they await trial, so somebody who may well end up being found guilty of a serious crime could walk the streets. He also believes that we should be diverting people from prosecution, meaning some things that clearly are a crime shouldn't be

counted as a crime. So if this video makes it any way towards New York City or anyone who has a chance to influence avot in New York City, it might be great to have free stuff, but if the free stuff's going to get stolen, or you're going to get assaulted whilst somebody steals the free stuff, then this is not the option you want. This would be a terrible fork in the road, but we we'll all find

out together whether it's going to happen. Of course, if you raise any of these criticisms, what does the.

Speaker 7

Left say There is a double standard that is being applied to him that is not being applied to other politicians. And as for obvious reasons, not just because of his politics on what has happened overseas in Gaza, but the way he has stood up and defended certain principles around free speech in this city, but also because of what his faith is, what his identity is, and those are

central to him. And I think that's new to many people in this country, and we're seeing that being weaponized in a very ugly and vulgar way.

Speaker 1

The only way this bloke will be defeated is by pointing out defund the police and his lack of action on law and order. New York has already made a part of this mistake before. May they not make it again? Quick break back with more Nige Farage on the show tonight and the debate as always between Linda Scott and

James Ashby. It's Upnixt. We're just getting started. Employees, what would the smell of our if he could have a fragrance like the President of the United States, perhaps they could talk about it at their meeting of the Australian Prime Minister. Plus three, let's hope that happens in India. Paul It's gonews dot com Tuesday night. Bit of a fidnight tonight. None of them the wonderful James Ashby from One Nation Labor or a boot straps for a free

citizen as well as mother than Linda Scott. Loving to see you both. Before we get to the big issues of state, can I deal with a great idea from local council? Sometimes we always end up in the diverting off into local council chat. But how good is the people in and around Strathfield Council in Sydney because they are openly suggesting that they say no more real estate signs on public land. You know often when those things will be put up saying open for inspection this way

or that way. I also think some councils maybe should turn around and say how long a sign as soon as the house is sold, by the way outcomes a sign. I have no idea why they're allowed to keep it for as long as they do, and these things get bigger and bigger and bigger. I know my uncle, as a realistate agent, will be screaming at the telly right now. I love you, brother, but James, what a great idea. Okay,

if you've got to sell it, fine, fair enough. But let's all know, very few people are just driving around and they go, oh, there's a hausse for sale, I might buy it. No, it's just a way of telling you here it is the one that's on the internet.

Speaker 13

We don't have that problem here in central Queensland. We get one signed out at the front and every now and then you might see one on the corner saying open for inspection today from eleven to twelve, for example. But if this council wanted to do anything, how about you deal with the fees that real estate charge. Don't worry about the signs. It's the fees, mate.

Speaker 1

They're extraordinary, good bed and yet another reason to move to Queensland. Very few for sale signs because nobody wants to leave that magical join Linda again. These are the types of little things. You can't change your world. Even though many counselors want to declare war on this and an emergency on that. But every now and then I just wanted to be about can we get rid of the visual pollution.

Speaker 14

Most Sydneys love ever, Right, I love most Sydney story ever. Like Sydney real estate property markets. You know you're going to get a headline and then signs and visual clutter also is just the perfect ingredient for a story. A number of Western Sydney councils are doing this, so Stratfield

Council is not the only one. And I do think it is good to see because I was walking down the Sydney street the other day in the Inner City and it literally had this massive sign at the front of the house that.

Speaker 15

Said this house will soon be on sale. James, Actually, you couldn't even go in and expected. It was like it's going to be in a few weeks on sale.

Speaker 1

Enough correct, correct suburb.

Speaker 13

There's four million dollars medium price.

Speaker 1

Who can afford that for late the view you've got and the bankside for alo house? Afford stop stopper and you know I love you, but stop it. Anyway. I think James wins because he he doesn't lift too far from a joint. We can rip around on jet skis so well played. Soir all right, let's talk about Victoria. And as you know, the Allen government's deciding to go along with its own version of the Voice. Well, the opposition, the Liberals have come out and said, bugger what they do.

We're getting rid of it if we win the upcoming election. Here is the Liberal opposition leader in Victoria.

Speaker 16

The other Labor government have proven yet again they've got their priorities wrong. We're actually starting to focus on some of the biggest issues here in our state facing all Victorians. When it comes to crime, when it comes to the health crisis, people are literally dying waiting for ambulances.

Speaker 1

And yet this government.

Speaker 16

Continues to push down a road that most Victorians have already voted against.

Speaker 1

Middle stamp, Middle stamp, Linda, what do you think about this? The people made it very clear about a federal one. Presumably their feelings will be the same about a state one. The Libs are now saying, here's a line in the sand. If you want to do it, fine, we'll close it down.

Speaker 14

Look, I think the opposition leader in Victoria's got to be a bit careful. Labour one a very decisive election in South Australia right next door based on hospital ambulance ramping against the Liberal government, so I'm not sure they've got a great track record on ambulance or health. General, Victorian opposition is in to South Australian govern aggressive states

in the country like in Victoria. It's a pretty difficult ask to make if they want to kind of swing far right trumpion on the clause again, I just think it's it's not the smartest strategy, but you know, farbit for me to give the Victorian opposition leader any advice. But if they want to go TRUMPI and right, I'm not sure trumpy and rot white success James.

Speaker 1

Why is any opposition to everything they want to do trumpy and right?

Speaker 13

Well, well, again, this is just the arrogance of labor.

Speaker 1

They don't listen to people.

Speaker 13

They've clearly cast their vote during their referendum, which I might just add almost two years ago we took that it was twenty three, wasn't I'll tell to twenty three.

Speaker 1

It's hard to.

Speaker 13

Believe that this is a state that just completely ignores the wishes of the people of Victoria. But but, but, but, but there's a big butt here because at the same time, too. The Liberal Party couldn't pick a side at that time. John Persudo was the leader obviously, But the thing was they took a conscience vote. The Liberals in South Australia voted in favor of a voice. They are at odds

with their federal counterparts. But look, it's nice to see the new opposition leader taking a strong stance, so he should. This is not what Victorians, let alone the rest of the country want. It's so divisive and again this comes at an added cost to all Victorians to implement a voice to Parliament.

Speaker 1

Now we're going to be on a unity ticket here and I think piece is about to break out the next couple of minutes because the Labor Party is adopting one nation's policy when it comes to a gas reserve. This in part, was being announced in the past couple of days that the Federal Energy Minister, Chris Bowen says the gas projects cannot export anything that they produce, needing to offer at least something to the local market. Again, I remember James, this being what your boss was saying for years.

Speaker 13

Well, we have, we've always advocated for a domestic gas reservation policy. WA's got it. With the benefit of the Northwest Shelf, and we have been looking at a domestic gas policy for the East Coast as well. But the biggest problem is it's very uncertain what Chris Barn's going to do here. I don't think personally it should be made retrospective because there are projects that have obviously opened here on the East Coast that obviously rely on some export.

It's part of their agreements. It's one way in which they got their funding. But any future projects, yes, of course, should have that. But the issue that we've got to see here with the domestic gas reservation policy is this, you've got to get government out of the way. If you want new gas fields to open up, you've got to get this federal government out of the way. Obviously there's going to be environmental needs which need to be met.

Speaker 1

We get that.

Speaker 13

But at the end of the day, if you want new investment in gas, governments need to disappear because it's over one million US dollars to put in one single gas well, and we know they don't last forever. They've got a couple of years life.

Speaker 1

Let them in them.

Speaker 13

So if you want investment in gas, that's one thing. Get out of the Way government and allow these gas companies to be able to get in there and do it. And as for these states that don't want gas, as far as I'm concerned, turn the tap off them. If Queensland's only stayed on these it's going to be producing gas forget it. Victoria and New South Wales open yours as well.

Speaker 1

I'm with you at Nija Farage standing by Linda Scott to let me finish with you here, which is you've got an idea to supercharge to the Australian economy.

Speaker 14

Look, I love to hear James arguing against his own policy, which is partly what he did there. But I think it's incumbent on labor to look at every leave to supercharge productivity right, looking at our energy markets in the current global context, looking at a range of ideas. But here's what I want to pitch to the Treasurer and the government, and I hope people get behind it. We've

got to invest more in innovation. We've got to make sure that Australian companies are inventing things here and manufacturing things here. I found this great research report recently from the University of Sydney that showed that if aged care. In Australia, age care businesses spent as much on research and development as Australian bee keeping go the bee keepers, there would be an extra one hundred and fifty million invested each year in R and D. We've got so

many clever people here, so many great ideas. Let's get our businesses to invest in research and development and innovation all turbo charge productivity.

Speaker 1

Other people want to follow the money, let's say follow the honey. Ah, I love it, Love it, Linda, thank you, James. More in a sec here with the great Nager Faras. I can't wait to hear what he has to say about the rubbish the BBC put to wear. More importantly, what was being said on stage at Glastonbury. More in a sec.

Speaker 9

It's time for the man who's never borring.

Speaker 1

We love Niger Farash here in Australia, and of course he is the leader of the Reform Party in the UK. I have been waiting all weekend and all this week to have a chat to him about the nonsense that happened at the glaston Bring Music Festival. Yes, musicians like to be over the top, but this is just an outright CROs time isn't it.

Speaker 11

To the id id id.

Speaker 1

Nigel fared InCom that is an extraordinary performance to the BBC, of course, let it all go through. What was your reaction to, Oh, absolute disgrace.

Speaker 10

I'm an appalling advocating death the usual pro Palestine chance. Before that, we also had another group on who are basically supporters of the IRA, who called for riots, who've called for the killing of MPs, this particular artist. The most extraordinary thing is that the BBC broadcast the whole of this live. At no point, and given that the BBC had four hundred staff can you believe it, four hundred staff at Glastonbury, at no point did anybody stop or pull this broadcast.

Speaker 1

In the past he'd.

Speaker 10

Said all sorts of appalling public things, digging up Margaret Thatcher, you name it, and the BBC had been found wanting and you know, there is always a debate in Britain about should we go on funding the BBC, should we be going to prison if they don't pay the license fee?

Speaker 1

And frankly, this route is going to run and run. What was allowed to happen and broadcast is a disgrace. What about the idea that in the UK they can be pretty serious criminal penalties for such public behaviors. We know that this free speech and we want to defend the unpleasant speech, but sorry, outright demanding the death of people is beyond any line any of us can defend.

Speaker 6

You.

Speaker 1

Do you think this is going to become a proper criminal matter or police to inflict this one.

Speaker 10

I'm really sorry, Paul, but we don't know. We have free speech in the UK. That's the point.

Speaker 1

We have two tier policing, two tier justice. The rot has now set in very very deep.

Speaker 10

Can you imagine if anybody on that stage had advocated killing Muslim leaders? I mean they'd be in prison. They'd be in prison. This is all completely one way round. There's a woman called Lucy Connelly who put out one intemperate tweet, one tweet after the Southport murders, the horrific murder of those young girls last year. She's serving a thirty one month prison sentence and to date no charges

have been bought either against this guy or Kneecap. The Irish Republicans who're advocating killing members of parliament literally killing members of parliament. So we have a completely twisted bent judiciary and police force. Now I'm sorry to say that, but that's how it appears to me and many millions of Brits.

Speaker 1

I'm with you here, all right, Kirstana. Supposedly one of the great threats to his Prime ministership is some changes in and around disability benefits. Apparently labor in pays and there's quite a few of them are starting to rally and ratch it up against these things. You're in the Parliament.

Speaker 10

What's he trying to do? And do you think it could be the beginning of the infie. He's you turned now on several things. He's you turned on the winter fuel payment to pensioners. Very much under pressure, i have to say, from us, and on event after event, the man keeps you turning. Now he's put forward a policy that would modestly reduce the ballooning size of our disability benefit. I mean, think about this one. In ten Brits of working age is now on disability benefit. A thousand people

a day are joining disability benefits. But he has so lost control of his party and the Left is now very very much in the ascendancy that he's put forward these proposals. An overwhelming number of his own MPs. They wouldn't vote for it. Now he's put forward a series of amendments which, believe it or not, would give us two tier benefits, different benefits for those on the system today to those who might join tomorrow. This is a

prime minister losing authority. And I thought the biggest clue of the lot was last Friday he was being interviewed because don't forget it's one year on since our general election, and in response to the rising reform vote in the Middlelands of the North, he said we're at risk of becoming a country of foreigners because of immigration, and that was all to tack towards us.

Speaker 1

And now he says he deeply regrets saying.

Speaker 10

It, and he hadn't read the speech properly, which means the man's a puppet. He's given a speech, he gets up and reads it. He stands four square behind nothing in particular. This man doesn't believe in anything, the public of sustem And yes it is the beginning of the end. It'll probably be a slow end, but I'll tell you what he's finished.

Speaker 1

And as you say, more likely they come at him from the lift. If you really want to change the country, as you say, if you want to reform the country, vote for reform and we'll get to some polls in a second. But some people who used to believe that are now off trying to set up their own version of the parties of the party. Good luck to them, I suppose.

Speaker 10

Look, you know, you will always get this. You will always get human beings who come from different worlds. They come into politics and media. They think they're really, really famous because they've been on Telly, and they assume because a couple of people in a pub are nice to them that suddenly they can forge big, thriving political movements. Believe you me, if you're coming from outside the mainstream,

you're coming from outside labor and the Conservatives. You know, it's taken me thirty years to get to the top of the opinion polls, thirty years. If they're prepared to wait that long, very good luck to them.

Speaker 1

Good luck to them. I don't know that any of them can have the stomach for what you've been through. But speaking of what about these pols, as you say, a year on, they've spoken to about eleven and a half thousand people. They worked out if an election was held now, reform would win two hundred and seventy one seats. You'd be the government. Labor would be one hundred and seventy eight seats, which is a little down on the

four hundred and eleven that they won last year. The Tories would finish behind the Liberal Democrats were just forty six seats. So mate, one year down, three to go, and at this moment you were on your way to government. What a feeling. This must be.

Speaker 10

Unbelievable. I mean, the election was a year ago. I only came back thirteen months ago after sort of a four year semi retirement from politics. If you said to me a year ago we'd be in this position, frankly, I wouldn't have believed you. But I think there is now a perception that Britain is broken, our borders completely out of control. Over two thousand young men have crossed the English Channel in the last two days alone. Crime

is rampant. Opinion poll last week fifty seven percent of women are scared to walk on the streets of London. The average person's getting poor, and frankly, just swapping between Labor and Conservative governments has made no difference at all. They are looking for something different. They're looking for something radical and in me they know what they're getting, no question.

Speaker 1

Thank you mate, look forward to seeing you again next week. Niger Farrage. Of course, so the leader of the Reform Party in the UK on its way to government, maybe just three years from now. Quick break back with more. Let's do Krack and nighte in the Northern Territory fireworks on the TV. July the first is one of the great days in the Australian calendar. Why because in the Northern Territory, for about six hours you can buy fireworks and for about five hours after six o'clock you can

let them off. Matt Cunningham is a man who brings this national tradition to our television screens. Yet again he filed this report.

Speaker 17

Well, Paul, I can tell you you are missing out. Krack Andnite is going off here in Darwin tonight. I'm standing at the Export. Actually, I'm only a few hundred meters away from where you started some pretty serious fires about five or six years ago. When you were throwing those crackers off the cliff. I think you were celebrating your birthday. It was a big day. In fact, I don't think Annalise Nielsen, who was with us that night.

Has ever truly recovered you, certainly, I don't think has been back to the end, But people having a great time here. I ran into a bloke Chris from Fusion Fireworks earlier who said to say good a to you. I think he made a firework in your honor ones. But he made some special ones up with the Donald Trump's head on them. They've been really popular this year, a lot of people setting.

Speaker 1

Those ones off.

Speaker 17

I did catch up with a blokedown on the beach who actually showed me how to fire the rockets off into the sea. I think that's better than firing them at other people, which occasionally happens here. We have sent a few fires here tonight as well, but nothing too serious.

Speaker 1

Everyone having a great time. Of course, there's a bit of meaning to this madness.

Speaker 17

Krack and Night celebrates Territory Day, and this year marks forty seven years since the Northern Territory achieved self government. It is a unique way to celebrate a pretty unique place.

Speaker 1

I love you, great man. It is so cool. Seriously, I know, school holidays just buggaret week off right, family mates, missus whatever, go and have fun. Territory Day one day, one day they'll stop it. Until then, it is a magnificent way to celebrate the freedom that is the territory. Thank you, Matt, have a great night, stay safe. The Late Debate is next
