This is the Patriots Training Camp Cast. The Patriots Training Camp Cast is your source for all the news from Patriots Training Camp. Well, I do still watch the news. Practice is over, but the writers of Patriots dot com have you covered? What did I miss yesterday? Now here to review today's practice the writers of Patriots dot com and we are back. Hello. It is Mike do So and Paul Prilo Patriots dot Com. Just off the field from practice number eleven and quick lineup change, quick line

douce in forever you got me in. It's a trade up, I think, baby, trade down on it. I think it's a trade up significant. Well, Paul, we just got back from our second padded practice in a row. Here, the fourth padded practice, the eleventh practice. Overall, what what did you take away? Intense too? I thought the intensity was

a little higher. You and I were talking about the tempo at the end of practice seemed to be a little bit higher because we were both kind of wondering, you know, where's Mac Jones and all of this, and all of a sudden, you know he's out there against a lot of the so called ones. On defense, Cam Newton took a lot of reps against the so called ones on defense. I thought, maybe for the first time, there was some extended work for both of those quarterbacks

in a higher intensity environment. And I actually thought both of them looked pretty good. I thought both quarterbacks threw the ball pretty well and for the most but I don't know what the numbers are. I don't care what the numbers are, because I thought the ball came out pretty good and uh, pretty accurately for both and I thought there were some positive signs offensively, Yeah, some pretty throws today. I think what stood out to me was some throws to the running backs that you know, some

of some of the most beautiful throws. I thought, high degree of difficulty throws that both of them were able to complete, Newton to White and Jones to Sony. Michelle. Yep. Good. Uh, your memory is intact, Paul, like like a steel trap. You member exactly those plays. But you know, I think that the other thing with Nelson Aglori was out yesterday, practice, came back, warmed up, went down to lower fields, looked

like he was warming up. But you know, without Aglare, Hunter Henry also out, seemed like a day for Kendrick Bourne was kind of active in the in the receiver. Yeah he was. I thought he was the guy that got targeted the most. I thought Myers made a handful of catches too, but born Um stood out. Wilkerson again. A lot of opportunities and a little little up and down he caught some. Had a couple of bad drops, a really bad drop on Newton in his two minute

drill which really kind of short circuited that drive. But we should real quick. Nick Fole continues to be out. Brandon Bold and Adrian Colbert, DeAngelo Ross, Joe Cardona something we'll talk about in a second. David Andrews and Hunter Henry, the two big ticket items on that list. All of those players were not out at practice as um. As Mike said. You did get Nelson Agilore back at least back in uniform, not ready yet to do anything competitively eleven on eleven and the Keem Spence was back on

the field today too. Um. But there were some some periods, Joe Cardona missing. They had to sign a long snapper, Brian Corey, another guy on LinkedIn. You're gonna hear a lot about LinkedIn later on tonight. Another guy looking for work with Cardona out, he was able to step in. He handled some of the long snapping duties latent practice. Yeah, just like that. Here you are in New England, come

out to training camp. I don't know what he was doing yesterday, maybe working at his parents store or something, but Brian Corey outlet. Let's touch a little bit. Just on the defense though as well. You know, some goal line work. Christian Barmore continues to kind of stand out to me. Seems like he's getting a little bit more action. He looked like he's still dealing with a little injury. He was in and out of the lineup, but some

plays being made I thought thought by the defense today. Yeah, I thought he would be a good candidate for that kind of a role. He's a bigger guy who can move and those are the kinds of guys I think on the goal line that can can be disruptive getting the backfield when you're you're looking to make some penetration plays. And I do think that the defense won the majority of those reps. One in particular, the last one with Sony Michelle had no chance on a playoff right tackle

John Williams came off the edge. I thought Nick Thurman was involved inside defensive coaches very excited about that. Just another example of what I thought. It was a little bit of a higher level of intensity and tempo today all around. The defense was winning some of that early. I think the offense bounced back a little bit later. One more guy to talk about on defense, so I got to mention him, Adrian Phillips, who I mean has has been the best player in camp. And you know,

had another great play today on John U. Smith. Yeah, and that was how Cam Newton's two minute drill ended a play that I think maybe he was a little late throwing the ball, but I mean he made a good decision through the ball to the right spot. Had John Us Smith. I think he's probably thinking his tight end will win that one more often than not. Give Phillips the credit. He made a terrific defensive play. Then

making plays on the ball. He's been I agree with you, he's been the best player for the Patriots, I think throughout the eleven days. Absolutely well. We will be in the stadium tomorrow another afternoon practice. We'll see if the intensity gets ramped back down a little bit in preparation for Thursday night against the Washington football team. And then

we're off to Philly next week. So it seems like we had a little spurt here, a couple of pad practices, maybe pull back and it's really gonna start to get int It's here with the game and against Washington, and practice is coming up over the next couple of weeks. So for Paul Piolo, I am Mike Douso. We will catch you next day, next practice, next week, tomorrow. We'll see you tomorrow. Thank you for downloading this podcast.
